BB Protect: Send a Message after Wipe Device

Hi,
My wife just lost her BlackBerry 9750 Curve... It had the BB Protect app. I could track his location for a couple of hours and send a display message for return call.... but not answer... so I wiped it.
Now, I'm not sure if the device is off, or the wipe procedure has already delete the Protect App... I was trying for 3 more hours and it can be located by the bb protect web.

Yea if you wiped the device, you wiped the service books which enable the BIS account to the device.
Bill is correct, at least it's wiped now. There's not anything else you can do with it.

    iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. Could not send a message to the device. I kept getting this message from Itunes. Cable is good, restarted iphone, itunes and computer. Done everthing i found on the internet. Still having same problem.

  • Z10 will no longer read or send text messages after software upgrade

    Hello,
    New to the board and looking for a little bit of help.
    I have an AT&T Z10 and recently upgraded my software after using a non-BB phone for a little while.
    I'm now no longer able to open, compose or send a text message with my device.
    I tried both taking the battery out and doing a complete wipe of the device. Neither has helped solve the problem.
    Any help/fixes would be greatly appreciated. I certainly don't want to have to go back to iPhone or an Android device as I like the Hub and the virtual keyboard much more.

    When I try to text, it does nothing. The screen simply doesn't respond. Same thing happens if I try to open a text. I touch the message, but it won't open or do anything.
    Software version is: 10.1.0.2019
    Device says I have the latest software.

  • IMessenger is sending all messages to every device on my account!!

    My Wife, I, and our cousin are on the same family plan and share the same iTunes account on our iPhones.  Because of this iMessenger is sending all messages sent or received with iMessenger to all 3 phones!!  Is there a way to add an additional email addresses to my iTunes account to fix the issue?
    setting up a different iTunes accounts per phone is out of the question.

    Have each member go to their device and go to settings, messages, you will see an options that says 'receive at' you will see the apple ID on the top and 'email' further down, have each person add their own email on 'add another email' apple will send them an email at that email for verification, after the email has been verified go back to each device and go to settings, messages, receive at, you should see two emails there now, click on the old email and click remove this email, now each of you will receive iMessage using your own email, hope this helps.

We've contacted our service provider and they've told us to go to apple to potentially "remove" her serial number from their servers to allow it to work properly on the service we have. We are desperate as purchasing a new phone right now is not an option and she desperately needs her phone for work and life.

  • Unable to send text messages after ICS

    After ICS install I just found out that although I receive text messages replies or new messages are not sent.  It appears that they are but recipients do not get them.  Reboot, battery pull, cache wipe and soft reset have been tried.  Any other suggestions?

    well, if I would have to do that..... I would at least need Sybase to keep development low. at the end you do not really need Sybase for this... but without SUP development effort is really high.
    Okay, in short:
    each device has its wn dedicated listener concept for push messages. This is platform dependend and you need to develop a native solution for this. It is possible, but it takes some time.
    If you want to be native, with Sybase you get this more or less for free. Issue here: Sybase does only support push notifications out of the box in the most complex scenario: therefore you need SAP backend, Netweaver Mobile Middleware, SUP and connect NW Mobile and SUP by ESDMA file. This gives you push from backend to device for free on nearly all plattforms out of the box.
    So at the end the first question qould be: how much do you want to develop?
    Or is it wnough for you to have SUP workflow? Benefit on Workflow: development effort is low, works out of the box, is multi plattform - but like every sunshine there is some shadow - performance of this approach is not really nice. Anyway, it could solve your issue: you receive an eMail in your device, this opens the workflow app and you can accept or decline for example a travel request.

  • Cannot open any folders within thunderbird or send unsent messages after computer (ubuntu) closed suddenly whilst using programme

    I use ubuntu. The computer ran out of battery power and closed whilst I was using thunderbird. On restarting thunderbird later, I found that I could not open any folders or send any unsent messages. When I close the programme, I cannot restart it because it says thunderbird is already open, but if I use killall -9 thunderbird I am told there are no thunderbird processes running. I've checked my profile and there is no lock file or parentlock file. Someone suggest deleting the global messages database, but this hasn't helped at all.
    If I am slow responding to any questions, please be patient, tonight is my last night with a decentinternet connection - before returning to my rural African home, where we get download speeds of 15kb/s on a good day.

    Do you run some sort of anti-virus software on the Ubuntu computer?
    Do you have a backup of your profile folder? If not, now is a good time to create one.

    There might be some sort of corruption in connection with your Inbox folder.
    Try to rebuild the index file within Thunderbird:
    Right click on Inbox in Thunderbird, select Properties, and then press the Rebuild Index button.

    Ever since the most recent update I've been having major issues with my texts not going through. I have to completely reboot my device. Any ideas other than doing another factory reset?

    I use my text messaging feature all day and I can understand how frustrating it must be to have issues with it. Are you using the native text messaging application? Are you using a different application (i.e. Handcent, Go SMS, etc.)? My son has a Droid 4 and he also had some post update issues but all issues were resolved by doing a http://vz.to/TZvgLF factory reset. I recommend doing a factory reset and then install your third party applications one at a time and test a few hours before the next install as you may also have an application conflict that is causing the issues. Keep us posted.

  • Can't send pic messages after latest update.

    I have an iphone 4, which I mistakenly upgraded to ios 7, it is off contract and I've been using it as a gophone through AT&T, with no data plan.  Ever since the upgrade to ios 7 I've been unable to send/receive picture messages. Before the update I could send/receive pictures with no problem, but nothing now.
    any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Make sure the 'send as sms' setting is turned back on. The update turns it off.
    I always go through all the settings in everything checking what is on and what is off whenever I do an update to make sure it hasn't changed anything I don't want changing.

    there is definitely nothing built in that would do anything like this. you could probably cook up some sort of notification system but it would require some hacking and I don't know how to do it at the end of a backup. at the beginning might work.
    you can try for example the following. edit the launch daemon /system/library/launchdaemons/com.apple.backupd-auto.plist and change the command it executes
    /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd.bundle/Contents/Resources/backupd-helper
    to
    /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd.bundle/Contents/Resources/backupd-helper; echo "backup at `date`" |mail [email protected]
    you have to have command line mail working for this to work. It goes without saying that you need to back up the existing launch daemon before tinkering with it.

    My phone will no longer make or receive calls and I can't text after upgrading to iOS 8.1.1.  I've tried everything except chucking the phone out the window.  Any ideas?  I have reset it multiple times, turned it off and back on, reset the network settings, reset all settings, toggled the airplane mode switch, and done a complete factory restoration.  What else is there to do?  I can't get a new phone for another year.
