BB recognized by computer & Desktop Manager, but does not connect?

All right, I've scoured these forums and can't figure this out. Tell me if I've missed something.
Blackberry is recognized by my computer AND by Desktop Manager, but does not fully connect so I can sync. I can see it in My Computer, and the Desktop Manager does recognize the model of smartphone when it's plugged in. Both Windows, and Desktop Manager ask me for my password when I connect the USB cord. However, it just says 'connecting' in the bottom right, and never gets past that. When the phone is initially plugged in, the screen goes to the clock (normal), and flashes the 'connection' screen (BB and computer icons connecting with a cord). It flashes that screen twice then goes back to the clock. The Desktop Manager then just keeps trying to connect, until I unplug it. Both the computer and desktop manager recognize when I've unplugged it.
Running:
Windows 7, 64bit
Desktop Manager 6.1.0.35
Blackberry Tour 9630
This is a new computer. I was running Windows XP with Desktop Manager 6.1.0.35 previously, and it worked no problem, but that is no longer an option.
The goal is to be able to sync with Outlook 2007. Need very badly to be able to do this.
Did all the simple stuff:
Oh so many Windows restarts,
Blackberry battery pull, both unplugged and plugged into computer with Desktop Manager running,
Desktop manager reinstall,
plugged into every different USB port,
tried a different cord.
Went deeper:
BB USB drivers fully up to date
Turned OFF USB power management on all my ports in device manager,
Disabled USB selective suspend setting
Deleted my intellisync folder in appdata/roaming,
Turned off Windows UAC notifications,
Tried every combination of BB memory compression on and off, or mass storage mode on and off,
There might be more I've tried but don't remember. I've been searching the net for days now.
Please let me know if there's anything else I can try. This is a serious issue for me right now, I need to be able to sync with Outlook 2007.

    Doubtful an upgrade would fix a hardware issue. If you are thinking of upgarding to Lion, best to do all necessary maintenance first.
    Try Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

    You may have to enter device code like 000 in phone so it can pair up.
    Try checking the box you mentioned
    Check the manual for your Bluetooth device it will tell you the code Read all of it!!!!!

    Right introduction, I live in the country signal for iphones under 02 in my area is 3-4 bars of GPRS signal. This is plenty to make and receive calls, texts and all that as use home wifi for internet simple. Everything working fine for about a year of having the phone, then did updates and started to see the "no service"  almost all the time and had to place my iphone in a signal spot just to get 1-2 bars and couldn't touch it without dropping out! Basically I could not use it at all and the crap about the signal now showing true signal is rubbish as before i could make calls fine and no drops, but now due to "no service" i can't make any calls or texts or anything. I have a ipod touch when nothing HAS CHANGED other than i can think when the update to 4.0 came along! I have been living with this for almost a year. I have done every possible solution, apple stores, 02 stores, new sim cards (many), every type of phone resetting possible, manually turning off 3g and other settings to turning everything off bar just basic GPRS signal. Network resets everything possible no joy what so ever.
    I have been paying for a year now for a phone that i can't use anywhere other than right next to a signal tower! Yes the phone connects to GPRS, EDGE, 3G when in town but just about. Before these problems i could get max 3G signal in my local town no issues but now struggle to get 1 bar of 3g in a town as well. The problem is I used to be able to use my phone as a phone where i needed to use the phone. Now i can't use the phone anywhere and get drop calls all the time when i do manage to get signal!!!!!!!
    Now i can't even connect to 02, yet at home under a manual carrier search all UK networks appear on the list including 02, I click on 02 and it comes up with the warning "network lost see settings" So my phone CAN find signal but does not connect to 02. This has been the case for a long time now and as stated before several sim cards latter and plenty of trips to apple and changes of phone make NO difference which makes me believe this is a software issue on apple's part. I only started getting these issues when the iphone 4 came out and updated the ios. Now what can i do, i can not downgrade the ios as i never jailbreaked my phone so don't have the files stored that i should to be able downgrade. Apple are offering 0 help with this, all i want to do is smash it to bits as it no longer works as a phone. I have to use a 10 year old nokia to call and actually use my contract that I PAY FOR. I PAID FOR MY PHONE and just after the warranty runs out as well and it seems all a software problem.
    I have searched all over the net to find no solutions to my problems this is a last resort before i do actually smash the thing and I love apple to bits but come on a simple software issue.
    I mean isn't it silly that i can't downgrade my ios and that apple don't support this and yet my issue seems to lie in there update.
    I know that the signal update reworked the algorithm to show true signal XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX um no it doesn't as now i have 0 signal as before i had no problems what so ever with dropping calls and the signal showing right so WHY WHY WHY.
    Please help I am so frustrated with things and need to solve this issue. Please ask anymore questions if you want more details about anything, i need to sort this out please.
    By the way i am running ios 4.3.3 yet bellow in the options this is not stated?? I have been updating hoping that it gets solved but only seems to get worse the more i update.

    Same problems, unfortunatley I updated to 5.0 1 hour before going on holiday for three weeks and no way to restore my phone to try to remove it.At the same time, drop outs, range problems and the most annoying was my music and apps were corrupted and would not function properly :-(

    It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

    It should be it the iHome supports the bluetooth profiles that the iPod supports. See:

    System Preferences > Security > Firewall

  • Firefox opens in task manager but does not display.

    This morning my Firefox stopped working and I had to end task. Afterwards when trying to restart Firefox the firefox process will open under task manager but nothing displays on the screen. I've tried ending all firefox processes and restarting my pc. I also tried creating a new profile under the firefox,exe -manageprofile command. When I created the new profile and ran under it I had the exact same problem. I tried running under safe mode and I get the pop up telling me that mozila is running under safe mode with the check box's for clearing settings but there is still no window displayed and when clicking continue in safe mode the pop up box goes away and I'm left with nothing once again. I tried running the firefox setup freshly downloaded in an attempt to repair the setup of sorts but this had no effect.
    I also did a short search of the forum for any soloutions but so far haven't found anything. If anyone could suggest some more things to try before I do a complete wipe of Firefox using CCleaner.
    Also in the event I use CCleaner I'd like to back up my bookmarks first so if anyone knows a start parameter to back up bookmarks or even what file the bookmarks are stored (already found a forum topic on the saved passwords file) in and if copying that file into a new installation will work please let me know.

    I had this problem for a couple weeks as well and it was extremely frustrating considering we use firefox for all our company tasks. Here is the solution:
    First of all if you have no bookmarks you want to save, then go directly to step 7. If you want to save your bookmarks first, then follow these steps.
    1. Shut down the computer
    2. Reboot and open firefox
    3. Go to Task Manager, right click firefox.exe, and click END PROCESS TREE
    4. WAIT 30 SECONDS! Then Double-click the shortcut to try and open firefox again
    5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 until firefox finally opens (trust me, eventually it will)
    6. Once it finally opens, backup your bookmarks,
    7. Download a copy of firefox from there website
    8. Uninstall from programs menu and make sure to check the box REMOVE ALL COMPONENTS
    9. install the new copy and BOOM! it works
    If it doesn't work, you're an idiot. If you don't want to reinstall firefox, then you're out of luck. Good Luck!

    Acrobat XI appears as Installed in the Application Manager, but: 1) does not open when Launch App is clicked, and 2) does not appear in the Start Menu.
    Steps to Resolve:
    Attempt 1:
    1) Using Windows Add Remove Programs, uninstalled Acrobat and Acrobat Reader.
    2) Restarted.
    3) Removed all stray folders not removed through the default uninstallation process.
    4) Restarted.
    5) Reinstalled Acrobat.
    Result: Same Result. Acrobat does not open.
    Attempt 2:
    1) Repeated steps 1-4 listed above.
    2) Downloaded adobe_creative_suite_cleaner_tool, extrated it, and followed the removal instructions to Remove All.
    3) Restarted.
    4) Reinstalled Acrobat.
    Result: Same Result. Acrobat does not open.
    Question:
    What do I need to do to resolve this issue.

  • Computer recognizes camera, but does not log & capture

    I teach in a classroom where we have 23 new iMACs and the new Final Cut Studio. FCP recognizes the Sony miniDV camcorders we have, but some of the computers, although they recognize the camera, will not log and capture. The new iMACs plus the loading of FCP (making an image and transferring it to all the computers) was done by the tech dept. The question: Why does FCP on most of the computers recognize cameras and log and capture, while on others it does not? It was suggested I go to a FCP users group meeting to ask the question. Does anyone out there know? Thanks.

    If it's working correctly on some machines and not others, and all installs were identical, then here are a few things to try:
    • First, are the FireWire cables good? Test one from a working machine on a non working one.
    • Also, are they inserted securely at camera and mac ends?
    • Do any of the non working macs have other firewire devices connected to other firewire ports? The iMac has only one firewire bus, even though it has multiple ports, and this can sometimes cause a problem.
    • Is everything being turned on and connected in the proper order? Usually it's best to have the firewire cable connected at both ends, and the camera powered on before the mac is started up.
    • Check the cameras themselves; in the camera's record in/out menu, it should be set to play out DV, and when the firewire cable is connected, most Sony cams will display a DV in/out message on the LCD screen.
    • And, finally, are you using the same Easy Setup for all of the macs/cameras? I'm guessing you would want the NTSC DV setup; this should be chosen before a new project is opened to capture into; are all machines set up the same way?
    Sony camcorders generally work pretty well with FCP, so I'm guessing one of the above choices will solve your problem.

       I do not know much about computers and even less on how to fix any issues but here is my problem
        When I connect my Ipod Touch, it will charge but will not show up in my computer. I have a Dell Laptop Windows 7.
    here is what I have tried
    Uninstalled Itunes and then Reinstalled it. (I deleted Everything related to iTunes)
    Rest iPod by holding the Power and Home button. I even Turned it off and then On.
    I went into my Computer under Services and Stopped then started my Apple Mobile Device and made sure it was on Automatic Start Up Type.
    Plugged it in my Sister's Laptop and it installed the linked to her iTunes no problem.
    ANy ideas?
