BB speed getting slower and slower

Hello,
my speed is dropping slowly but surely, it was at 18mbps downstream at one point and was perfectly stable i am now at 13mbps it has been dropping all the time,
Had the line for over a year now and it just keeps dropping eventually im gunna be at an abysmal speed, im paying the same amount as a infinity customer but i cant get infinty at my property even though there is a poster on my exchange at the end of the road saying infinity is now available in your area call to get it, but yet i am told its not even planned for my area how pathetic and misleading.
Ive had nothing but poor customer service from BT and i am counting down the 4 month untill my contract is at an end.
People say i might be whingin but im paying exactly the same amount as someone who has 10 times my connection, surely this cant be right? is there anything that can be done to fix my speed to a speed it was perfectly stable at.
Rant over any help would be appreciated
 Nathan

Have you tried connecting to the test socket at the rear of the master socket
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

  • Computer Speed Getting Slower

I purchased the G5 dual 2.3 last spring just after they were released and shortly after added 2 gigs of ram to it to help with real time playback during video editing. After I put it in I did a test to see the improvement and was pleasantly surprised that I could playback 5 layers of video with multiple filters on them without rendering in Final Cut. Since then, however, I've noticed a steady decline in my computer's ability to do what I figured the RAM was there to do. I haven't experienced any faulty RAM horror stories like the ones we've all heard. It just seems to me that my computers performance is getting slower and not able to handle as much realtime playback. I have been looking in MacAddict and MacWorld to see if they pinpoint this problem, but have found other RAM articles that don't apply to this. Is there something that I could do to boost performance and possibly restore things to the way they were when I first installed the RAM?

What free space do you have on your FCP scratch disk? Performance will drop as your HD's fill up.
Try freeing some space on your boot drive and video/data drive.
You are using a seperate boot HD and video/data HD? If not you'll find this helps.

  • Broadband speed getting slower and slower by the d...

    Hi,
Ive had BT Infinity for a couple of months now, and it was absolutely fine, lightning quick, was connecting at roughly 70mb down and 16mb up, 2 months later im barely getting 40mb down and 12 up, and now starting to see packet loss as well. Im a livestreamer which is why I went with infinity in the first place, but streaming to the internet is becoming increasingly impossible.
Ive reset the router several times, disconnected every phone in the house etc, and nothing, still the same issue, and at times Ive seen my connection drop as low as 22mb in spikes.
Here is a tracert to live.twitch.tv which is their servers, but ive also had packet loss to twitter.com, news.sky.com and even google.co.uk at times.

    Hi jr_uk,
I'm sorry to read about your BT Infinity speed issues. Are you connected via ethernet or wireless and if you connect via ethernet do you still experience slower speed issues?
    Thanks

  • Poor internet speed getting slower

The area i live in has a very poor internet speed however in the last couple of months it has got significantly slower, where web pages arent evening loading and streaming is getting near impossible
BT call centre suggested leaving it an hour, then a day then a few days and they would 'fix' something. No change ever happens after these calls and leaving the internet unused for days at a time is getting unacceptable

  • Speed Getting Slower As Year Goes By, Now Baerly U...

Hey Guys, Firstly Happy New Year, When i first moved into my house november last year my broadband was superb, I was getting an average of 5MB broadband.
Now over the year it has got lower and lower and from the 26th till the 4th i had no internet connection what so ever. BT sent out an engineer who identified that there was a problem on the pole & in one there boxes and true to his word boom internet poped back on.
But the internet connection i now get is 0.1MB. I can only just use the internet the connection is that slow, id proberbly be better off with dial up. Heres a Speedtest link
Has anybody else had simular problems like this with BT. If so what did you do to resolve the issue?
    Thanks
    Carl

  • Speed gets slow !!

Hey, i have updated my Neo V to ICS. Everything working fine but whenever i want to access the "Phone" aap, it delays every time means it takes upto 5-6 seconds to show the keypad.
Can anyone provide solutions to this !!

Have you attempted to run a factory data reset since the update? If not I advise you do, however please backup any phone data you wish to keep before doing so.

  • Why is my LTE speed so slow on my iPhone 6.  I've tried multiple locations in Los Angeles and get ~7 meg. download.  A friends iPhone 6 on AT

LTE download and upload speeds are slow on my iPhone 6.  I also tried this on a co-workers iPhone 6 and got the same results, approximately 7 meg download.  A friend with an iPhone 6 on AT&T is getting ~35 meg download.  Is there something wrong with the network.  I've tried this in 5 different areas in Los Angeles.

Are you on band 13 or band 4?  13 is the original LTE band and remains relatively congested. Band 4 is the XLTE band and is less congested and has higher overall potential bandwidth (15 MHz vs 10 MHz). Even so, 7 Mbps is more than enough for doing stuff on your phone and is not considered slow.
    To check band,
    dial *3001#12345#*
    select serving cell info
frequency band will say 13 or 4
FInd an area with band 4 and retest.

  • Standard BT Exchange speeds just get slower and sl...

St.Athan exchange, Vale of Glamorgan, S.Wales - Over the last year the speeds I am able to get from my broadband connection are just getting slower and slower. A year ago I could just stream video (important since my business deals in this medium). However, now not only can I not stream video, I have trouble doing the most basic of internet business. Not only is my line speed slow (2mbs tops) but it drops out all the time.
I know it is not my service provider at fault or my house lines because all my neighbours are having the same problem and are with differing ISP's.
It must be that the exchange is getting steadily more oversubscribed and can no longer handle the amount of work it is being asked to do.
I think that my only option (and others in the area) is to completely ditch the BT landline and opt for mobile internet. The speeds available on mobile internet using a device like 3's MiFi arent fantastic but they should at least blow my BT connection away.

4 GB RAM (2 of 4 slots used)
201 GB free on 999.35 GB HD
The iMac gets slower the longer I use the Internet - to the point that it takes several seconds for each typed character to appear.  This is very noticeable with the online browser game Forge of Empires.  But, it happens even if not logged on to that game.
Turning the iMac off and restarting it brings it back to what seems like full speed for an hour or so.  Then, it starts to noticeably slow down again.

1st thing : from my point of view upgrade your mac os to latest version.
(their is mac os x mavericks from apple its free for upgrade so download it and install it.)
2nd thing : then upgrade your all browser plugins to latest version.
3rd thing : and use ccleaner to keep clean your mac from junk data or other unuseable data that are created.
4th thing : verify and repair your disk permissions with the use of disk utility or ccleaner
i am sure your computer recover speed.

This might be a simple question. On those sites that do not differentiate between CRT, laptop, tablet etc. such as an iPad Mini and using the Facebook site fir example when going to post a comment and you do not have a enter button on the IPad and the speed is slow how do you get your comments to post if we do not have a enter button?

  • SQL Worksheet Gets Slower and S.l..o...w....e.....r with Use

Does anyone else notice the more you use SQL Worksheet, the
slower it gets? The first time I start it up, it'll run a
compile on an object super-fast. After running a dozen or more
compiles and test scripts, I notice it's getting slower.
Eventually, it's so slow I just kill SQL Worksheet and start it
right back up. Then it's back to warp speed again!
    I'm on a Win2K machine, running Oracle 8.0.6, with version 1.6.0
    of SQL Worksheet.
I have 2.1 install disc for Oracle Enterprise Manager, but I'm
uncertain if I can update what I've got (given the release of
Oracle I'm on). Any help here would be appreciated, too.

The box does not reboot itself at 7am every day at the behest of BT that is not normal behaviour.
I think you really ought to fo  a hard reset and clear everything off your hard drive and see if it solves your problem.
If it does not then you are I think looking at a slowly dying box which needs to be replaced.
    Factory Reset
Switch off the Vision+ box at the mains socket
Hold down the front panel OK and down arrow buttons
Switch on the power to the Vision+ box
Allow the box to start up (about 15 seconds)
Release the OK and down arrow buttons
The Vision+ box will then contact the servers to get a new copy of its firmware
This will take around 30 minutes
