BB speed halved this morning!!!!

Question

DLM  has reset my connection today resulting in a drop in BB Speed from 18 to 8 Mbps! Noise has risen from <6 to ca 23db.
Not very happy but I suppose I should leave well alone and wait for  DLM reset that will restore the original conditions or at least better than they are now.

My homehub did that all the time, When the Noise Margin drops below 6Db it is likely to drop. the hub will then reset and and sync on a lower speed, Mine drops from 10Mb to 3Mb increases from 4-6Db to 16db. Your line will be more stable on the lower speed, but as time goes by your homehub will keep increasing the speed your noise margin will come down your line will disconnect and cycle begins again.. Atleast thats what happens for me. 
connect to test socket in faceplate, change filter if you got spare. and do the quiet line test as suggested there 17070 op 2
if your noise margin is fluctuating like you describe then you have a noise problem whether external or in your internal wiring
