BB Still dropping out

Hi
I am still having ongoing issues with my Broadband connection it seems to work for 4days and then cuts out a lot. I have spoken to BT India today they told me that there was another fault at my local exchange Chichester and that they would send out an engineer to resolve the issue. does apple tv still drop out of device list in itunes.

My router is N (Airport Extreme).
I have an update - Apple sent a replacement unit after the tech verified that my Apple TV was acting abnormally. I got it the next day, plugged it in and haven't had any issues whatsoever. I seemed to have a defective unit.

  • Wifi is still dropping out after 6.1.2 update

Recently received a new 4s from the apple store due to moisture damage on original 4s which was very much bug free, but this phone has major wifi problems. Basically it does not scan for wifi connections. It drops out all the time, the wifi tab is greyed out sometimes and cannot connect to a network under settings. I have reset the network settings many times, have rebooted many times, sometimes it works intermittently, but not for long as it then transfers over to Edge or 3G. Very frustrating.

I was having this problem on my iPhone 4S as well while all of our other devices were not.  I changed my router channel setting to manual & selected the highest number channel setting available.  It solved the problem for my iPhone & all other devices connected to the network are still fine..

  • Airtunes still dropping out!

I am still having trouble with my airtunes frequently dropping the signal to my speakers. When I pause the music and then start it again, it works. I have the most recent version of itunes. My computer is also very close to my airport express. What could be the problem?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I had a similar experience. I don't know if this will help, but here's the background and what worked for me.
Airtunes had been working perfectly for a couple of years. Then, recently, I began experiencing the dropouts. It's interesting to note that iTunes would mostly pause during the drops.
First I thought it might be the main PC and/or its network set up. But I verified that my laptop had the same problem.
So I began concentrating on the AirPort Express. I pinged it continuously. No packet loss. I moved it withing 2 meters of the access point. No effect. Changed channels. Enabled the robust interference mode. I updated its firmware, reset it and restored it to factory defaults. Nothing worked.
Then I set up iTunes to play on both my main system and my Airtunes speakers. I guess this is a capability added recently. Now it works perfectly.
So my theory is there is a bug in iTunes concerning the multiple speakers option.
In my research I ran across mentions of this and that it didn't work, but it did for me. For what it's worth.

  • AirTunes audio stream drops out, still!

    Hi folks,
My AirTunes is still dropping out and I have tried everything suggested from the support doc. TA21538. It connects far abour 15 seconds and then it is dropping out and coming back on. I think that it is a hardware malfunction. Any suggestions.
    Thanks Cliff

I may have a solution for those dropouts if your setup's like mine: an original 'g' Airport Express hardwired to a DSL modem with another AE connected to hi-fi in an upstairs room. I have it set up as an extension to the network, not just to run printer/speakers. I've tried everything (which might have helped solve minor issues and may or may not be necessary... they didn't fix anything for me at the time) including:
    - replaced a 2.5Ghz phone with a 5.8 one
    - got the latest updates for absolutely everything in the OS
    - dl and ran Maintenance from Apple's site (routine healthcheck app)
    - changed and tried every single channel availble, settled on auto again..
    - tried changing WAP2 security, then changed it back again..
    - you name it, nothing worked!
Then I started messing on with other settings and this one DID work: 4+ hours of constant, dropout-free airTunes so far. I don't want to switch it off, it's such a blessed relief! Try this, it might work for you:
Launch Airport Utility > Manual Setup > Wireless then hit Wireless Options and change the Multicast rate from the default 2 Mbps to 5.5 Mbps. From what I can tell, this will reduce the range of your Express in exchange for greater bandwidth. If you're running more than one airport unit anyway, this is maybe less of an issue. If you still need the range, I'd suggest either another Express, rather than replace your whole netowrk with the beefier new units.
    Hope it helps!

  • Audio dropping out during playback in timeline

    Hey everyone,
I've dug through these forums and unless I just completely overlooked it I have not found a solution to this issue. I've listed my setup below and then have stated the issue I'm experiencing.
    27-inch, Mid 2011 iMac
    3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    16GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    AMD Radeon HD 6970 1024MB
    Running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
    Currently working off of a portable 1TB G-Technology G-DRIVE via FW800.
Working in Premiere Pro CS6 Version 6.0.2
Editing in a sequence with settings:
    1920 x 1080 23.976fps (also tried in a 29.97fps timeline with same issue)
Working with footage that is 23.98fps
Working with a combination of ProRes 422 (LT) and native H.264 Quicktime files strait from a 5D Mark 3.
The issue I'm having is during playback the audio will competely drop out. The video will continue playing on just fine but the audio drops completely out. All audio levels drop as well in the audio mixer meters so it truly is losing all communication with my audio layers in the timeline.
I read in other forums to go into Finder and delete out the .caf files, re open Premiere Pro, wait for them to be recreated then carry on. I tried this approach with no luck. Deleting the .caf did not change anything. Audio is still dropping out as I try to play through my timeline. The only way to get the audio back is to pause then press play again. I have 5 total channels of audio with only 2 of those channel active.
Any ideas on what is happening would be greatly appreciated. This is incredibly frustrating have to export out a video just to be able to watch it through.

Having this annoying problem also.  Using the Space Bar to play timeline it takes pressing and holding to a count of three or trying press play three time in a row using the space bar to get ungarbled audio, or any audio at all in a normal uncomplicated sequence on the timeline.
Really annoying.  Audio used to be so simple and untaxing to a sequence.

  • Best Xtreme Config to avoid drop-outs with multiple gadgets?

Hello, I've purchased a brand new Xtreme to work with a Thomson SpeedTouch ADSL modem, 2 MacBooks (2yrs old), 2 iphones, ipod touch, 2xWiFi Radios and 4x Digital Phone handsets. The intention is to avoid IP lock-outs and signal drop-outs - does anyone have the best configuration to achieve this?  I've set it up and it appears to be working as I'm not suffering lock-outs ("!" over the WiFi signal) but it still drops-out?  Thanks in advance.

  • ITunes drops out like everyone else - Netgear WGT624

OK, I've read the posts and I can't get it straightened out. My wireless router is a Netgear wgt624 with WPA enabled. I'm streaming from my MacBook Pro to the AirPort Express. I've tried WEP and no security at all and it still drops out. I have the latest software for the APE. The MacBook Pro is 8' from the router and 9' from the APE.
I live in a condo and there are other networks around. Could that be a factor?
Would switching to a different router solve the problem?
    Thanks.

Hello grits4jim. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Yes, it is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference in the immediate area that is preventing you from getting a good clean signal.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like KisMAC, MacStumbler, iStumbler, or IPNetMonitorX to determine potential areas of interference...and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them.

  • CS3 exporting drop outs and red screen flashes when exporting via Media Encoder

    Hi forum
I have been using Premiere Pro CS3 for a long time on my dual core PC with no issues.  Suddenly, I am now getting a major issue i MUST get sorted asap for a client is waiting for the final video.
It is a HDV (1080i, 25fps) project/timeline.  An 8 minute video has been put together in this and every time I try to export as either MPEG2 (Blu Ray) or WMV, I am getting pixelation in certain places usually around certain cuts, or horrible red blocky pixels filling up the screen for a second or two. They seem to come always at the same point.  They don't happen when i render the timeline or show up when playing the edit itself in the timeline - just when i playback the exported video in premiere or in Windows Media Player.
To try a workaround I exported the whole video as high quality MPEG2 (blu ray - 30mbps), which I brought into a new sequence, then I exported small sections where this problem was happening as Uncompressed Microsoft AVI and called them "patch 1", "patch 2" etc. and brought them back in and overlayed over where the problems were occuring.  The short Uncompressed AVI patches seem to have exported with no glitches, so theoretically I thought I had a clean good timeline in my new sequence made up of the MPEG 2 video overlayed in the dodgy places with uncompressed AVI "patches".  However, trying to export a new MPEG 2 master from this has created the same problems, in the same places!!! Still drop outs and still those horrid red flashes filling the screen.  Not always as bad, and some places where there were problems are ok, but I am still left with most of the problems still there.
I am now trying to export the whole video as an AVI uncompessed but dont know if this will work and will take a very long time.
I do have Saphire plugins, but they are not being used in this new sequence so therefore could that be a possible problem?  I thought perhaps it was the brightness/contrast filter etc so removed that from some of the problem areas, and it helped on some of them, but not on others, so not sure its anything to do with my plug in or filters.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks, James

This topic is about a year old, but I thought I would reply because I just experienced this problem very recently and stumbled upon an easy solution.
Problem: When using Adobe Media Encoder to create an HD or .m2v video file, a bright red screen will flash followed by a mashup of red blocks/pixels somewhere within the file you've just encoded. This phenomenon lasts for exactly 10 frames before clearing up.  Most likely, you won't see this problem until you import the encoded file into Adobe Encore.  It shows up on the timeline, the preview monitor and the DVD itself. It occurs on edits that the system reads as being corrupt or when a flash bulb goes off from a still camera.  Both instances make the encoding process go haywire.
Solution: Encode your HD or .m2v file with CBR (1-pass) bitrate encoding rather than VBR (2-pass).  Don't worry about losing any quality in your video or creating unnecessarily large file sizes with your new renders. I guarantee you won't see much of a difference, if any.  I can't explain why this solution works.  It just does.
Hope this helps you as much as it did me.

  • Drop out in fade...

using the new fade tool in logic 9 I'm hearing a drop out for a couple of milliseconds exactly where the fade starts anyone have some insight to this.
I had the same problem whilst using pro tools 8 on elastic audio tracks.
but this was a strait guitar .aif file
    Any Ideas?

Is there any automation on the track?
Are you adjusting the fade while Logic is playing? I find I need to stop Logic's Transport make adjustments to audio regions and then playback to avoid delays in hearing back the changes?
If you delete the fade and then reapply does it still drop out?

  • Why dose wi-Fi keep dropping out

My Wi-Fi connection keeps dropping about when I use my iPhone 4s it keeps going onto 3G why is this

Thanks for your reply. Both my AEX and my router are set to the same channel (6). (From what I understand, they need to be set to the same channel for it to run through WiFi, right?) When I run a scan, nothing else in the area is set to that channel, so I don't think there should be any interference.
I went through the rest of the settings, and they all seem to be correct. I'm not sure how to check if it is set as a client only, but it is set for airplay and I didn't set it up to extend the network. I verified that it is set to "join a wireless network," not "extend a wireless network."
The signal I am getting from my router is at 100%, so I thought I'd give it another try after verifying everything. It still drops out. I timed the drop-outs this time, and it is actually happening literally every minute, almost to the second.
I think I might be heading back to the store for a refund later today unless I get some other suggestions on what will fix this issue. If the drop-outs happened every 20 minutes, even every 10 minutes, I could put up with it, but every minute is unacceptable.

  • Why does the sound keep dropping out?

Can someone explain to me in very simple terms how to fix my Airport Express so that it doesn't keep dropping the sound when I'm playing iTunes. About every minute to a minute and a half, the sound drops out for a second or two. It is very annoying. I have checked the communities, but none of the recommended fixes are making any sense to me. One suggested that it was the internet speed, so I actually upgraded my internet yesterday to a faster speed, but I am still running into this issue.
I am using a PC. I am playing iTunes wirelessly. The distance between my router, my computer, and the Airport Express shouldn't be an issue; they are relatively close together. I have had no other issues with my wireless. My Blu-ray player is able to access the internet wirelessly and stream movies with no problem, so I don't understand why I am having such an issue with streaming music.
I love the concept of the Airport Express, but I am ready to take it back to the store for a refund.

  • BT Infinity dropping out constantly

I've had BT Infinity since April had some teething problems when I realised the speed drops when using wifi/home plugs and got equipment ungraded to help with this although there's still a drop in speed when not directly LAN cabled in (which is difficult if not impossible in my property).
Anyway I accept this since BT are getting 80mps to the router.
Next problem is that from around the end of June my connection started dropping several times an hour. When it does this new pages go blank or I can't connect. Lights at the hub remain constant as if no problem there. This happens even when I'm cabled in (LAN) so know it's not a wifi/home plug issue.
I've been through customer service several times, we've checked settings at my pc/laptop, we've reset home hub. BT then suggested I needed HH4 which was released only weeks after I had my FO upgrade but to get it I either had to pay over £100 or go into a new contract. At the time I was so desperate I didn't notice I was being moved from free calls 24/7 to free calls only at weekends. Anyway I was put into the new contract and didn't read the blurb because I trusted I was being kept the same or equivalent and I just wanted my broadband to be fixed. The HH arrived and it still was dropping out. BT said must be faulty HH4 so sent a replacement. Same thing happening with new one.
I'm pretty much fed up and wish I'd never upgraded, it's been problem after problem. I still have iplayer interrupted and half the time I am sitting here waiting for the thing to reconnect.
I have spoken to a couple of other people and they say their FO (FTTC around here) is also dropping out but they don't seem to be complaining. Is this something to do with too many people on the network - some times of day are better/worse than others.
I am really fed up of this, have spent a long time trying to fix it and just wish BT would say "Yes it's our lines" but everytime they say the line test comes back fine. People in my area are crying out for FO but I don't think it's as good as made out.
I've not changed anything in the time that it took for it to start dropping out (well apart from upgrading wireless cards and home plugs), I just got up one morning and it started doing it. I am now in a contract which doesn't suit my calling pattern, and that I can't get out of to go anywhere else, and I feel if I did the service would just be the same anyway. Every time I see a BT Infinity advert I feel very frustrated. My copper wire service was better, slower but it was consistent.
I have phoned and even used the email service to complain about this, but all I got in reply to the email was a phone call when I was driving and unable to use my phone, they left voicemail and sent an email which basically said you knew the T&C of the new package from the email we sent when changing to it, and BT Infinity is dealt with by the technical help which you can phone on 0800...........thanks BT.
    Very annoyed and fed up.

I posted on the other thread because I thought the problem was similar and because despite there being plenty of other replies on other threads mine hadn't received a reply yet and was falling off the front page. Apologies for my impatience.
Sorry if it looks like I posted contradictory information for clarity this is the situation.
I didn't have any drop outs when I switched off the hub and connected my laptop directly to the modem with the LAN cable.
When using the HH4 I get constant drop outs both when cabling in via LAN to the hub, or if I use wifi. So it's not just a wifi problem the drop outs happen when I cable into the hub and infact there's only one device I use wifi (laptop) and whether I LAN or not when the hub is used I still get the drop outs.
The drop outs started in June when I had a HH3, so BT went through all the resets, channel changes etc and sent me a HH4 which involved me entering into a new contract. There were still drop outs so I went through channel changes, reseting/restarting the hub, still drop outs so they sent me a replacement HH4. It's still dropping and doesn't matter whether I connect via LAN or wifi the drop outs still happen just the same. The only time they stopped was when I did what was suggested on the other thread, turned the hub off and connected via the modem. Since then I've reconnected the hun and back to the usual drop outs which are around 3 per hour.
