BB Torch Freezes Almost Daily
About once a day, on average, my BB Torch locks up. The only way for me to unfreeze is to remove the battery and reinsert. It does not respond to attempts to power off, etc. Any advice?

1. Check the Options > Device > Application Management > Swipe left to CPU and see what application(s) are consuming your CPU cycles, and you will likely determine which app is freezing your device.
2. You have your mobile phone number listed as your "My Mobile Provider" or carrier. Putting your phone number out on the internet on these public forums for the world to see, is not wise. To change that, at the top of this page click on My Settings > Personal Profile > Personal Information, and in the entry block for "Carrier" type the name of your mobile provider.

HP Officejet Pro 8610 freezes almost daily
My HP officejet pro 8610 e-all-in-one printer freezes almost every day. Blue light is on near screen, and power button light is lit, but neither the power button nor touching the screen gets a response. If I unplug the printer, it reboots and works normally for a while. I updated to the current driver after installation (May 2014) and it still happens.

I am using a windows 7 to print to it wirelessly. I am connected to a wireless router.

The only additional information I can offer is that I have tried going through and turning off different features and settings, in the hopes of finding a specific item that may be responsible. If I try to change any setting having to do with IPv6, or turn off that protocol, the printer locks up immediately, without showing any changes after power cycling. This happens through the printer settings and through the embedded web server (EWS). I don't know that the IPv6 protocol has anything to do with the freezing issue, but it does seem like a good possibility.
Hopefully one of the smarter users out there can find a solution for us, because we need a printer that works. -
ITouch 4th Gen, crashes almost daily, how do I fix it?
Ok, a month ago the iTouch started to act up, when iOS 5 was released. Clearly it is a software issue. At that time, I came to this site because it would not start, it kept the apple logo up. I eventually used the white apple PC connection cord and did a restore of the product. It wiped everything clean and re-installed everything as I had it upon my last backup. At first it was a decent fix. Then, a week or so later it crashed again, but this time, only while using certain apps. (Pocket Frogs, Diner Dash, Mail and Safari). During this time, it would simply restart the iTouch, so I thought nothing of it. A few days later, it did the same as before and crashed without being able to restart. So I did the same process again. It worked, but from this point on, it crashed and would need to be restored about every other day I used it. I ended up restoring it almost daily for the past couple weeks. I eventually tried to not even use my backup again, in case the issue were the files I had. However, it still continued the same process. Now, within the past few days, I keep on getting errors when attempting to restore my iTouch like before. I have updated the new iTunes, I have restarted the computer, drained the battery of the iTouch, etc. Every time it gives me a random error from a security issue, to wrong mac address, to a bad USB connection, to not even seeing the iTouch in iTunes. I have evern attempted to fiddle with the options in iTunes, to avoid downloading the latest version of iOS for the iTouch, and it will not allow me to go back to the older version for some reason. I can only get the latest iOS when restoring it.
The questions I have are: is there anything else I can do, instead of doing the same thing again and again in hope it will work again sometime, as well as is there anything I can do to prevent it from crashing once again? Is this a iOS problem that they are planning to work out the kinks for 4th Gen iTouch/iPhones? (I have been having a hard time finding any information about this issue outside the fact that more than one person has had this issue). And, can I restore the iOS software to the original without an automatic update with the latest iOS?
Thanks in advance!Ok, I have done the system restore process, aka the holding of the power and home button. That is in fact what I have been doing all this time. I have gone through the troubleshooting guide and updated Windows, iTunes, restart my computer, changed USB links, wait until the battery died to restore, wiped the backup off completely, and reinstalled the iOS with the backups (Both from before the issue arose and well after). It started off slow, but now it has become more frequent to the point that as of today, it won't even let me complete a system reset/restore. I cannot access the iTouch browser as it is stuck in system restore mode. It has given me many difference reasons as to why the install has failed, including: 9, 14, 21, 28, All on this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
When it does fall it usually crashes halfway through the installation, goes white screen and restarts system restore mode to have me go through the process all over again. Then, provides me with one of the above reasons, and usually changes the number every attempt. I will troubleshoot more, but that is about all I have done at the moment. I am going to try another computer soon to see if I get any better results. -
ITunes 11.0.3 crashing almost daily
Hi,
Since updating to iTunes 11.0.3 via the Mac App Store recently, it has been crashing on an almost daily basis. I leave it open in the background all the time but I will often return to the computer after leaving it unoccupied for several hours that iTunes has closed with one of those massive error dialogs visible on the screen.

I am running a 2007 iMac with OS 10.8.3 and every other app on my system is up to date too. I use Home Sharing to a fully updated Apple TV 3rd gen but I mostly use this for Netflix and haven't watched anything off my home library for a while.
Anyone got any thoughts?I updated a few days ago and the new itunes must have a major bug because my iMac has never crashed before until this update. In fact the crash has been so bad Ive had to reinstall the original operating system then snow leopard. Luckily all my photos and music were on a separate drive. However after reinstalling OSX and then the new itunes it crashed again so badly that I couldnt do anything apart from boot from disk. DO NOT DOWNLOAD ITUNES 11.0.3 its seriously flawed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And what are Apple doing?

I continue to get the /.HTML/Rce.Gen3 virus through my mailbox almost daily. It is picked up by my anti-virus software. How do I get rid of this permanently so I stop getting it daily? Is it from a internet cache??

My active accounts are clean, but the On My Mac gmail keeps and continues to repopulate all email, even after I trash them.
If you're seeing messages remaining in GMail's All Mail folder after deleting them, that's normal. GMail keeps all messages in there, even after deletion, unless you manually delete stuff using GMail's web interface. See Hiding GMail’s “All Mail” from Apple Mail.
If you're actually having trouble deleting e-mail from an On My Mac mailbox, there's probably something wrong with your mailboxes. -
Safari continues to crash almost daily
On an almost daily basis Safari will crash.
I've uninstalled the AdBlock plug-in and extension.
I've dragged out contextual menu item plug-ins like dropbox and google notifier.
Maybe I'm using an incorrect version of flash? I see other people reporting flash problems (nothing new there), but can't tell if my crashes are similar to theirs.
I've downloaded but haven't yet installed 5.0.5. (I know the answer here may initially just tell me to install 5.0.5.)

- I have updated to Safari 5.0.5
- I used the Flash Player Uninstaller at the link you gave and then eventually re-installed it.
- I moved the ClickToFlash.webplugin to the Desktop (does it need to actually go to the Trash?)
- I moved the ToastIt item to another folder (does it need to actually go to the Trash?)
- ~/Library/Contextual Menu Items is empty
Safari continues to crash. It has crashed between the various actions mentioned above.
Do I have too many tabs open? Could it be a problem with my ram?
I have also verified/repaired disk permissions every so often. Below is the last listing of permissions that could not be fixed. (I have not recently tried repairing permissions while booting off a different drive/dvd/etc.)

Why do Photoshop and Bridge have so many, almost daily updates? Almost every day when I open my computer up there are updates waiting. This seems a bit much...

My Lumia 920 freezes almost every time I use a Blu...
Well I really had my hopes up for this phone, and dumped my iPhone 5 for it... now I regret it, the phone freezes almost everyday it froze the 2nd day I bought it while I was talking through a Bluetooth headset, the day after that it froze while switching between calls... and today it also froze while I was talking through my car's Bluetooth set... I don't know what's the problem with this phone and also the camera is not that good and doesn't deserve all that hype. Nokia & Microsoft you'd better fix these issues because although the Lumia 920 has many good features, I can't stand it for this regularly freezing.
P.S. I'm currently in Saudi Arabia and the Nokia Care staff here are totally useless, shame on you Nokia you should've hired a qualified staff at least.hi there mate,
have you tried performing a soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together until the phone vibrates)? If that doesn't work, then try to perform a hard reset (Settings > About > Reset your phone), but bear in mind that this reset wipes all your personal data so please backup all your data to PC / online storage first.

I've been a BIG fan of Firefox for many years. I really want my Firefox to work! I'm extremely frustrated over this so I'll apologize now if I offend anyone.
For the last year or so, I've had so MANY problems that I'm frustrated enough to quit using it. Problem is, I don't want to use any other browser. However, I have to use another browser if I want to see youtube or news videos without it stopping and starting or showing a message that Flash crashed. (it doesn't crash on other browsers) I want to see websites without the browser crashing and telling me to reload the page. I want add-ons that don't give a message that they have crashed. You folks had a really good browser and now for whatever reason, it just doesn't work. I have no clue as to why.
Most, but not all, of the problems seem to have something to do with playing videos. Whether I'm on youtube or a news site, Flash has more problems running than it doesn't. I'm running Win 8.1 with latest updates on a Lenovo laptop with over 250GB free on the hard drive, 6 GB memory and I've cleared cache as well as defragged. I have Firefox 34.0.5. My only add-ons are Flash, Lazarus (most important to me), and Intel Identity protection. I'll try anything to keep Firefox! But it has to work right.
Problems:
1. Watching videos - choppy, will stop, sit, then start again, repeatedly, as if cache or harddrive was full.
2. Extremely SLOW! There have been times it took over a minute to load a single web page. Same page is almost instant with IE 11.
3. Crashes, A LOT! Almost daily. I report some but not all. I get tired of that little button to notify you because it seems nothing is done about it. For about a month a year or so ago, I reported them all but nothing ever changed, even with updates.
4. This is most important - I don't have any of these problems with IE11 or Chrome 41. I don't have problems with other programs I run. I've reduced my startup programs to bare minimum plus Digsby and I regularly run anti malware and anti virus.
5. And the worst part, I'm not sure how to find this post again to see if anyone answered it! I don't know if it's my frustration level or what, but I had a hard time finding how to post this. I'll be lucky to find it again. I don't see anything to check to notify me when it's replied to.
Look at all these crash reports! And these are the only ones I reported, not all of them.

We can follow the links to the crash reports that start with bp- (which are linked automatically when viewing in your original post). For the most recent ones, if you click through the code to the crash stats server, you might get those bp- codes or you could paste the URLs from the address bar.
* The 12/8/2014 crash is specific to the Flash plugin.
* The 12/1/2014 crash occured within 10 seconds of startup and there's not enough information for me to figure out whether this is a problem with an extension, with a page recovery, or other situation.
* The 11/30/2014 crash was caused by an "out-of-memory" condition. According to the corresponding bug tracking entry, it is fixed in Firefox 36, but it's not always possible to bring these fixes forward to earlier releases as code changes can be very interdependent.
Flash can be very frustrating, particularly when it behaves fine on one system and is a disaster on another. This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.
(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here (this takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it up again):
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
(B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
(3) Disable the plugin's protected mode feature. It has security benefits, but is not compatible with all systems for some reason.

FlavioAssuming the path to your links is correct, sounds like it could have been a server glitch. Normally, if the page is not found, you receive a 404 error. If the server is down or your internet connection times out, you'll get "site is temporarily unavailable."

You haven't provided any useful information so it's almost impossible to help you. If you are really running OS X 10.2.x as your profile states then you are posting in the wrong forum, this forum is for Intel based iMacs that began shipping with Tiger 10.4.x. Also you haven't stated what Airport Extreme you have, there have been many models over the years. Once you locate which AE you have I'd recommend posting in the appropriate AE forum and try to paint a clear picture of what is happening and also provide the verison of OS X you're using, the Mac model and ever the firmware version of the AE you have. You can find the firmware version by running Airport Utility. -
Why is my Macbook Pro Retina freezing almost every day since I have installed Mavericks?
I bought my Macbook Pro Retina in March and only use it lightly for school. I don't do anything crazy on it, and I have used barely any space on it. I have never had any problems in terms of freezing, but ever since I installed Mavericks, it's been freezing almost every day. Is there any way to stop this? It's very frustrating because I will be in the middle of something and it will just stop working. The only way to stop the freezing is to hold down the power button until it shuts down. By the time I restart it, I've lost my work. I wouldn't mind reverting back to Mountain Lion, if it's possible, because I never had any problems with it. But if I can fix it without reverting to Mountain Lion, that would be preferable. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

My MB Pro has worked well for ove a year. Recently, i.e. about 8 weeks ago I installed Leapord which seems to have slowed down the speed and now in the last few days I have had a sequence of crashes/freezes which I can only eliminate if I use a force turn of. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Why is Safari freezing my iMac almost daily?
At least every other day, my iMac completely freezes up when I'm running Safari. I'm using the latest version of Safari and Mavericks.
When I use Firefox, there are no problems; been using it for well over a week.
I'd much rather use Safari, but not with constant/any restarts.If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time after you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post any other kind of report — it will be very long and not helpful. -
MacBoock Freezes almost ramdomly, specially under graphics requirements
My macbook is 2 years old, White, 13-inches Core Duo 1.8Ghz (not Core 2 Duo). It's my second one, first one was replaced becouse of constant kernel panic problems...
With the new one, i've had no more kernel panic, but random freezes... it could be while surfing the web, changing from one application window to another or wherever...
freezes always look the same: i can still move the cursor, but cant do anything with it, in 10-30 seconds it becomes the spining-colour-wheel, only thing i can do is hard reset. If i try to put it in sleep mode (closing laptop and then opening it) the screen is still on, but almost invisible (zero brightness). I've tried sometimes to wait, and after 15-30 minutes, if I close the laptop and open it again, only sometimes is possible to get back to work.
Freezes are random, but I can force my macbook to freeze if I try "cover flow" in leopard, I only have to silde a few photos or files in cover flow... and I get 100% freezes... I can live without cover flow, but other apps, like google earth or others that require graphical resources, will make my macbook almost always to freeze.
Anyone have experienced anything simmilar?
Any idea?
I've tried to repair disk permissions... and some other simple advices like that... I had this problem with tiger, and now with leopard... also I'm sure that it is not a ram problem (becouse it happened with the 256+256mb ram from store, and still happens with 1+1Gb ram that I bought some months ago)

I might try the Activity Monitor, but when this happens I can't switch apps. I can switch Spaces, but that's about it. But thank you for the suggestion, because I'm now going to try checking the Console right after to see if it can tell me anything. (If it still happens when I'm not using Mail.)
With that said, the crash is always very sudden and seemingly random. I mentioned previously that everything gradually slows down, but it's not exactly gradual or slowing down. To better explain, everything becomes unresponsive except the cursor. Here is the usual process I go through:
1) I notice that I can't use Finder or switch apps. I use Spaces to move to any open apps and attempt to save and quit. Sometimes this works, and sometimes it doesn't. Everything else seems normal at this point, no spinning wheel, nothing slow, etc., but the Force Quit window (if I can open it) is completely blank.
2) I try to relaunch Finder by option-right-clicking its icon in the dock and choosing "Relaunch." Nothing happens. I repeat this if possible, but usually I no longer get a response from the dock. By this point, I can move my mouse but clicking no longer produces a response.
3) Occasionally, I try to shut down or restart by pushing the power button once and pressing enter in the dialog box. This has never fully worked, but the menu bar usually disappears and some apps may quit.
4) Finally, I give in and hold down the power button to force a shut down.
If I get another crash, I'll post my findings from the Console. Until then, any advice or ideas are welcome!
