BB10 and Office 365

Good day. My work has just made the move to Office in the cloud (365). I have an iPhone running iOS 6.01 and it works fine. I get push email, Cal updates in real time, and can see all of my contacts. I recently got a BlackBerry Z10. I love the device, but when I setup my work email account using activesync, weird things happen.
Email account in HUB disappears - does not delete email but actual account is gone. Then it comes back
Cal -  acts like email account. Obviously if account is gone, then all linked to it is gone as well.
Contacts - well, same as above.
Then one night, after leaving it on on Wi-Fi, all seemed to work. Contacts were populated, cal was all there, and email account stayed and provided push email.
I have a co-worker who then went out and purchased the same phone and started to experience the same things I did. Eventually, our IT department said it was an issue between BlackBerry and Microsoft and that he should return the phone.
I guess what I am asking, is has anyone had the same experience? Was it resolved? BlackBerry - is there a work around for this? I would hate to be forced to use my iPhone because it works at my work place. Also, my spouses work is still running Exchange 2003, and the Z10 on activesync, runs without issues.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thank you

I'm currently running my z10 with office 365 and don't have any of these issues.
Did your IT dept have any rules or policies setup on the active snyc?
Have your tried to wipe the device and then try to setup the office 365 email first?
Thanks

  • SP 2010 and Office 365 C2R owssupp.dll or interceptor.dll issues

    Hello,
    At my company we're having compatibility issues after upgrading our
    Windows 7 SP1 64-bit NL-NL laptops
    to Internet Explorer 11 and Office 365 ProPlus Click-to-Run
    32-bit NL-NL.
    Our
    initial notebook configuration had Internet Explorer 9,
    Office 2007 ProPlus and Lync Basic 2013 installed.
    The upgrade path exists of deleting Office 2007 and Lync Basic 2013, installing the Office 365
    Click-to-Run and letting Internet Explorer update via the Windows Updates
    The issues we experience happen between our
    SharePoint 2010 On Premise and the SharePoint Online environment.
    While we had no issues before, now, when trying to edit a document on SharePoint 2010 On Premise
    we get the message: "A Microsoft SharePoint Foundation compatible application could not be found to
    edit the document"
    Doing some digging around online a lot of topics point to the ‘owssupp.dll’ as a possible culprit
    but to no avail we tried a number of suggested solutions, listed below. Some of these solutions might propably work for the Office 2013
    MSI installation but none of them seem to apply to the Click-to-Run version.
    - Repair Office (Fast and Online)
    - Delete and reinstall Office
    - Switch in IE between 32 and 64 bit mode but this is
    not possible with Internet Explorer 11
    - Tried the Microsoft Hotfix KB
    2726997 but got the message that it
    does not apply to our system.
    - Check registry references if owssupp.dll points to Office 15
    - Manually re-register owssupp.dll
    - Replaced owssupp.dll by the Office 2007 version
    - Checked if all SharePoint add-ons in Internet Explorer were enabled
    -> 'Sharepoint OpenDocuments Class' refers to interceptor.dll
    not owssupp.dll
    - Check/Install “Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation Support”..
    Click-to-Run doesn’t
    have that option
    - Create registry keys in:  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Components\55EAFA0B8A4403B428FDE038B252C621
    What there should be: HKCR\Installer\Components\55EAFA0B8A4403B428FDE038B252C621\x86\1033
    What should be added: HKCR\Installer\Components\55EAFA0B8A4403B428FDE038B252C621\x86\1043
    But the 55EAFA0B8A4403B428FDE038B252C621-key
    doesn't exist with the Click-to-Run version and manually creating it doesn’t help
    - Put the site in the 'Intranet Zone'
    - Put the site in the 'Trusted Sites' list (prodsharepoint.kindengezin.be)
             -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
    Settings\ZoneMapKey                    -> *.kindengezin.be
    (REG_SZ, Data: 1)
    - Check if our SharePoint 2010 On Premis environment is completely up-to-date
    - Create
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office 15\ and placed the owsupp.dll in it; in case SharePoint would be looking for it in the wrong place;        -> Keep in mind that the folder structure with Office
    365 ProPlus Click-to-Run is different than the 'normal' Office 2013 as the owssupp.dll is now located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\owssupp.dll
    - Checked if our Firewall settings are up to date (IP-ranges and other settings)
    The test where I got it to
    work, but is not a solution in my personal opinion is: Open the Lync Basic 2013 setup and only check
    Support for Microsoft SharePoint Foundation
    In your Programs and Features list you now have 2 entries: Microsoft Lync Basic 2013 Microsoft Office
    365 ProPlus – nl-nl
    I do not trust this “solution” as I do not know the future consequences of this “solution” in terms
    of updates or functionality.

    Anyone? Have OWSSUPP.DLL issues with Office15 and IE11 as well - can't get the "Connect to Outlook" menu option on SharePoint calendars to show.

    Can anyone give me an idea of what these messages mean and how I can solve this problem?
    If I'm not in the correct Community for this question, could someone kindly tell me where I should re-post?
    Thanks.
    David Walker

    Yes; I have previously connected to an iMac at this location using File Sharing.  However, in my attempts to solve this problem last week, I had already unchecked File Sharing in System Preferences.  Tonight, I also deleted the folder from the window in the File Sharing System Preferences page, then rebooted.  The problem still persists.
    I try not open files across a server line, i.e., I try always to copy a file to the local computer and open it there.  I may have gotten careless and tried to open a file from the Windows server with either or both Acrobat and Office 365.  Although this was an SMB share, is it possible that these programs are now trying to connect to the Windows server on a File Open?
    I had about decided to quit chasing this problem; we spend about two weeks every two months at this Boston location, and I'll be returning to my Florida home this weekend.  So I decided I would see what the situation was when I returned to my native habitat, although I may be chasing this problem again in our trip to the Boston area in April.
    The other thing I wondered (I guess I can't quite let it go), is whether there is a command line in Terminal that would kill all AFP shares.
    In any case, thanks for your help; you're very knowledgeable.

  • What's the difference between SharePoint 2013 and Office 365 Team Sites?

    Hi there,
    What are the differences between SharePoint 2013 and Office 365 Team Sites?
    If I would like to develop a professional corporate website with SharePoint technology (because the company allready uses Office 365), do you recommend using SharePoint 2013 (in the cloud) or Office 365 Team Sites? And why?
    Thank you very much!

    You cannot make SPO Team Sites anonymous-enabled, therefor they're a moot point for a public website.

  • Lync 2013 and Office 365 - Desktop Client not showing contact pictures but online and mobile does.

    Hello
    I have gone so far of opening a support call with Microsoft but they don't know how to fix the problem also so I was wondering if anybody has a fix for me.
    We have only about 25 users using Office 365 Mid Size Business - We don't have the AD Intergrated yet - that will be at a later date. So I am not doing any of this thumb photos in AD which I have read about.
    So about 15-16 of the machines work fine, We have the Desktop Office 2013 installed , and in Lync everybody can see everybody's contact photo.
    We have the rest which works perfect apart from showing the contact photo's - All settings are the same - When these users use the Online Web Lync or iPAD Lync, all photos are displayed....it is just on the desktop.
    Like I said Microsoft spent an hour on a workstation and don't know what the fix is - we did all the deletion of the SIP Dir in the c:\users\username\appdata\microsoft\office\15.0\lync - For me , I don't see this as a game changer since all aspects of Lync
    work for IM, Conference, Presentation - however I am guessing some of my users want to stare at pictures all day :-)
    I would like to know am I the only person getting this?

  • Office 2010 and Office 365 Home Premium

    I had a free trial of Microsoft Office 2010. When 365 was introduced I decided to purchase it. I purchased Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium. I ran the install and can sign on to Sky Drive and see recent documents etc. I also have a Surface that I use
    SkyDrive with. The issue is that I still have the trial version of 2010 on my computer and whenever I open Excel or Word etc to start a new document or file or to open an existing, it says that my trial is expired. When I try to enter my product key to upgrade
    it says that that is not the right product key, it wants one for 2010. How do I resolve this? I shouldn't have to open a browser and use a web app when I'm on my computer, right?

    If you purchased O365 Home Premium, the product key you purchased for that, will not be acceptable to Office2010.
    You will need to download and install O365, and it's probably best to uninstall the Office2010 trial.

  • Add-in support on Office 365 click-to-run installed and Office 365 App-V installed

    Hi,
    We have to make a decision on deploying Office 365 via on premise click-to-run, with the Office Deployment tool, or via App-V. But the way add-ins are supported on Office 365 / Office 2013 on App-V 5.0 SP2 is not clear to me.
    Some Technet sites mention that for add-in support on an App-V based office, the add-ins should be sequenced and put together in a connection group with the Office App-V package (created by the Office Deployment tool)
    On
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_resource_kit/archive/2013/12/02/announcing-app-v-5-0-sp2-support-for-office-2013-volume-licensing-editions.aspx however, I read in the table “Full-featured Office with integration with other applications,
    add-ins, and Windows”
    When testing with third party applications and Visual Studio installed in a classical installer way, the add-ins are added to the App-V installed Office, but we are sometimes experiencing error messages in word / excel with the add-ins
    enabled.
    Should add-ins be sequenced to be used on an App-V based Office? Or in other words, is there a difference in add-in support between the click-to-run version and the App-V version of Office for non-virtualized add-ins?

    Hi,
    There is a new feature for Office 365 Pro Plus, it allow administrators the ability to exclude App element. We need to use Office 2013 Click-to-Run (Build 15.0.4615.1001) and logon as administrator.

    Then, we'd better follow this link and repeat the steps one by one:

  • InDesign CS6 and Office 365

    Our users of CS6 (and 5.5) are storing documents in SharePoint Online (Office 365).  When they go to click on the documents, instead of opening up in the InDesign application, they are prompted to download and save the file.  It's like it doesn't recognize that the client has the application installed.  We had a similar issue with PDF files about 2 months ago, but a combination of a Reader upgrade and apparently some change on the MSFT side of things cleared it up.
    Anyone else seeing this behavior?  Is this "by design", or is there a workaround?

  • How to use Powershell to set delegate for user mailbox in Exchange 2010 and Office 365

    Hello,
    Can you please tell me if I can set delegate for user mailbox in Exchange 2010 or Office 365 using Powershell?
    If I can, then how can I do that? (which Powershell commands for setting the delegate?)
    Many thanks, and have a good day!

    Hi,
    If you wanted to add a delegate to possiblly a large number of users or you do this during mailbox provisioning. So the following script will use
    impersonation to access another users mailbox and add a delegate.
    $mbtoDelegate = "[email protected]"
    $delegatetoAdd = "[email protected]"
    $dllpath = "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange\Web Services\1.0\Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.dll"
    [void][Reflection.Assembly]::LoadFile($dllpath)
    $service = new-object Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ExchangeService([Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ExchangeVersion]::Exchange2007_SP1)
    $windowsIdentity = [System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity]::GetCurrent()
    $sidbind = "LDAP://<SID=" + $windowsIdentity.user.Value.ToString() + ">"
    $aceuser = [ADSI]$sidbind
    $service.AutodiscoverUrl($aceuser.mail.ToString())
    $service.ImpersonatedUserId = new-object Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ImpersonatedUserId([Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ConnectingIdType]::SmtpAddress,
    $mbtoDelegate);
    $mbMailbox = new-object Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.Mailbox($mbtoDelegate)
    $dgUser = new-object Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.DelegateUser($delegatetoAdd)
    $dgUser.ViewPrivateItems = $false
    $dgUser.ReceiveCopiesOfMeetingMessages = $false
    $dgUser.Permissions.CalendarFolderPermissionLevel = [Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.DelegateFolderPermissionLevel]::Editor
    $dgUser.Permissions.InboxFolderPermissionLevel = [Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.DelegateFolderPermissionLevel]::Reviewer
    $dgArray = new-object Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.DelegateUser[] 1
    $dgArray[0] = $dgUser
    $service.AddDelegates($mbMailbox, [Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.MeetingRequestsDeliveryScope]::DelegatesAndMe, $dgArray);
    Hope this helps.

  • Exchange Server 2013 and Office 365 Integration

    If we are using Exchange Server 2013 on premise, can we have 2 of our users integrated with Office 365 so that they can utilize their Exchange Server email account with the apps and features of Office 365?

    Hi,
    You can deploy a hybrid environment using Exchange 2013 CU2 or later version with Office 365.
    Could you please tell me what do you mean by "we have 2 of our users integrated with Office 365 so that they can utilize their Exchange Server email account with the apps and features of Office 365"?
    Here is my understanding: You create these two mailboxes on Exchange 2013, but you need to allow for redirection from the on-premises OWA environment to the Office 365 OWA. If that is your case, you need to specify a target URL for your organization(for
    example, www.outlook.com/contoso.com). If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.

  • I have installed Lync Basic and Office 365 2013 | Lync will not sign-in

    Hello,
    I have installed Lync Basic along with Office 365 and the certificates are not available.
    I am an indicidual user and do not have an account through a company so I have been using my Microsoft ID. The work I do will require me to use Lync meetings with those that are on a Business Lync system. I know that their system will be a private network
    but I need to create and attend Lync based meetings.
    Thank you.

    So do you have an Office 365 for Business Plan? Listed here:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/business/compare-all-office-365-for-business-plans-FX104051403.aspx
    I am a bit confused because you say you are using your Microsoft ID and don't have an account through a company.
    If this is the case and you don't have an actual subscription, you won't be able to sign-in. Instead if a company sends you an invite for a Lync meeting, you can use Lync Web App (that they will host at their end) and interact that way.

  • Windows 10 TP and Office 365

    When I try installing Office 365 on Win 10 / 64 TP - it downloads 67% then I get an error 30174-4 - The fix being to turn off the PROXY - and as such - lose the internet connection - duhhh !! Any more sensible advice out there ?

    instead of disabling the proxy settings, you could;
    a) configure an authentication-bypass rule on your proxy, for the O365 URLs, so that when setup.exe transitions from user-context into machine-context, the connection is permitted by your proxy appliance/solution
    b) use ODT to download the complete set of stream files from O365 CDN, and then execute the setup without needing any internet connection at all during setup.
