BB8700 goes dead when dialing or receving a phone call

My BB8700 dies completely (does not turn itself off; just clicks and goes blank; it is like it can't maintain connection with the tower while receiving or making a phone call) (and must re set itself) when receiving a phone call or while dialing a call, but only sometimes does anyone else had this intermittent problem and how did you solve it?
it appears that it happens less whn the unit is being charged -- could the battery be somehow defective --everything else works AND the restrict my identity is off.

If device battery goes to dead state too fast - consider the battery replacement.
If device battery works ok - try to do the following:
when device is on - remove the battery, wait a minute and turn it back to the device.
Also make sure that the device internal memory is not full.
It can be checked via Options - Status.

  • When I am on a phone call and I double click the button to go to my home screen, then open another application (usually my calendar program, Calengoo), my screen goes blank and I am not able to return to either the app, the phone, or the home screen.

When I am on a phone call and I double click the button to go to my home screen, then open another application (usually my calendar program, Calengoo), my screen goes blank and I am not able to return to either the app, the phone, or the home screen. If I am speaking to a person, if they hang up then I am back to the phone application. If I'm leaving a message, I am unable to return to the phone screen to end the call, and have to wait until the other phone hangs up. I'm also unable to switch back and forth to look at my calendar if I'm calling someone about scheduling. This has only started happening since the most recent iOs update. I run into situations similar to this about once per day during the work week, as I use my phone is this manner quite often. While not life altering it is quite frustrating. Can anyone here help me figure out a way to avoid this? If it helps, I have noticed a general downgrade in overall performance starting two system updates ago (apps opening more slowly, closing unexpectedly more often, etc.). I have an iPhone 3GS with the latest OS update.
Thank you for any help or suggestions,
    Chris

    I could be corrupted backup.
You can check the notification settings for message.
    Settings>Notification Center>Messages>Alert Style
It should be on Banners or Alerts.
Settings>Messages> Turn on Imessage and send as SMS and below that "Blocked" to check if you have any numbers block might be blocking the message.
You can also do a hard reset by holding power and home till it restarts and release after seeing the apple logo.
Still doesn't work? Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings

  • Phone goes dead when it has just been charged

my husbands phone goes dead just shuts off when he has just charged it. says like 95 percent battery and 2 seconds later goes dead

User troubleshooting steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.
Restart, is powering the phone off/on.
Reset is holding the sleep/wake and home buttons until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.
    Restores are done via iTunes.
If none of these correct the problem, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar at Apple or with the Authorized Apple Service Provider, depending on where you live.

  • My 15"MBPr goes dead when I plug in a TV over HDMI

I have a 2014 15"MBPr. It is the version with the 750M. All firmware and software is up to date, all the cabling has been verified to be working.
I use this laptop at a desk my lot. Until recently, my setup was a 24inch AOC display connected through an apple mini display to HDMI adapter. I leave the laptop screen open and run both. This has worked fine since I've had the computer. I have lots of other peripherals plugged in too these are as follows.
Thunderbolt to Ethernet (meaning both thunderbolt ports are occupied. Wifi is not an option)
USB3 Hub, which has my keyboard (A DAS Model S), my mouse (a Logitech Performance MX), my 3TB western Digital drive, and my focusrite scarlet USB audio.
Recently, I bought a TV. It is a 42 inch Vizio, model number M422i-b1. I went and bought an HDMI cable so that I could use it as a display if I wanted to. I plugged the HDMI in to the TV on one end, and then in to the HDMI port on my mac on the other end. It worked fine, I set up the displays so they weren't all mirrored, and so they were arranged in the right way.
I used the setup like this for an hour or two, then disconnected the laptop to take somewhere.
I came back a couple hours later, and reconnected the computer in the same manner that I described above:
    Ethernet to one thunderbolt port
Display out to my AOC monitor on the other
USB out to all the other things
    Power in via magsafe
After connecting it all up I tried to wake the computer, and nothing happened. The backlit keyboard came up, but all three screens stayed black. It seemed like the two external displays were getting a signal, but the signal was a black screen. Both external displays (The AOC and the Vizio TV) usually will say "No Signal" If they are not getting anything, but they were not saying "No Signal"
    - I tried a restart of the computer, nothing. All screens stayed black but I did hear a startup chime as usual. The grey screen and apple logo came up, but after that was finished loading all screens went black.
    - I tried connecting the displays after the laptop was up and running, I did the monitor first via thunderbolt and it worked fine, so I eliminated that as not being the problem. When I plugged the TV in via HDMI though, all the screens immediately went black.
    - After force restarting the computer again, I tried plugging the HDMI in to a different HDMI plug on the TV. The same problem persists with all four HDMI plugs. Then I tried leaving the cable on on the TV and pluggign the HDMI in to the computer when there wasnt anywhere for the computer to output to. Even without the HDMI port I want to use on the TV selected as the one I want ot use, the computer immedeatly goes black when I plug in HDMI.
    - Every time I force restart the computer, upon logging in (without the TV connected, computer will not even boot with TV connected) I recieve a message that says "Your computer shut down because of a problem, do you wish to continue?"
    - I have tested all the inputs on the tv with other devices (A windows PC and a PS3) and they all work fine. In adition the HDMI cable I am using is good.
What should I do from here to fix the problem?

  • How do I turn off message sound when I'm on a phone call

I am going to go deaf if I don't put my phone on silent before taking a phone call, for fear of receiving a text message!!! How do I stop this?

This is only a work around and not a solution to the problem. Apple needs to add an option to be notified during the call or play another, lower and softer, tone while a call is in progress. With a mailbox that blows up all day long and a phone I live on, mind you with a headset in my ear, this is a horrible problem for me. A simple change in the sound profile for this would make me happy. When will we see this? Maybe when IOS 9 since apple is always behind the curve when it comes to enhancements.

  • Why does the IPhone 4 get really hot, when you are making a phone call??

I can't seem to find the answer to this riddle . why does the iPhone 4 get really hot when you are making phone calls or when using face Time ??

    It doesn't.
There must be an issue with your iphone.
    Have you tried reset?  Restore?
Have you made an appointment at the genius bar to have them look at it?

  • Can't type letters when I am on a phone call

I am having a problem when I call a business and get their voicemail.  One option I get is to "choose an extension by the employee's name".  In order to do this, they tell you to spell the employee's name- usually the last name first.  But, with my BB Curve 8330, I can't type any letters, only numbers.  Therefore, I can never reach a business extension by typing in an employee's name.
Is there a way for me to set up my phone so I can type letters while I am on a phone call?
    Thanks for your help.
    Bert

When you get to the point to enter the alpha characters, press the ALT key before each alpha character you need to spell out, or press the ALT + shift to lock it in.
For instance, 1-800-FLOWERS, you would press 1800 (press the ALT key and hold it down while entering) FLOWERS
Same with your office extentions by name.

  • 3g ipod goes dead when not in dock

everything works fine when it's plugged into the dock. charging, menus, no problems. when i disconnect it from the mac it goes totally dead. nothing works. is this a battery issue? should i have it replaced?

Just solved my mini low battery issue. My iPod mini was also not holding charge for long and I'd plug it in and it would charge to when it said full, but clearly wasn't playing as if it had a full charge.
So, I plugged it in and if you click disconnect and leave it plugged in to the computer, the charging bar will appear. Perform a reset, which will not delete anything, by
holding down the Menu and Select(middle)buttons. When the the apple icon appears it should start charging more.
It turned out mine was not fully charge and seems to be resuming it's normal charge cycle. So, give it a try and let me know if that works for you too. Good luck. Btw, mine is a 4GB, 1 yr old 2nd generation mini.

  • Batty going dead when lising to music

it started last night. when i am unplugged and lessoning to music my batty will go from being 90% charged to dead in 10 minuets. i have it set to run normal when on batty but i never had this problem before.

yes, you can get a new battery. Read:
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/
Read the complete article but here is an excerpt:
This battery update should be run on all MacBook and MacBook Pro computers and extra batteries that were purchased between February 2006 and April 2007.
If, after you have installed the battery update, your battery has any of the symptoms listed below, please make a reservation to bring your computer with its battery to your local Apple Retail Store, or contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP), or call your local Apple Support Contact Center. If Apple or an AASP determines that your battery is eligible for replacement, you will receive a new battery, free of charge, even if your MacBook or MacBook Pro is out of warranty.
For MacBook and MacBook Pro systems with Intel Core Duo processors, this program extends repair coverage on the battery for up to two years from the date of purchase of the computer.
Your problems are those of the type that are specifically mentioned.
    Read it.
Do the update and then follow the directions for replacement if it does not solve the problem.

  • Mouse goes dead when printer powered up

I have a Beige, but recently was given an early G3 iMac, 233mhz processor, 288mb ram.
I successfully installed OS 9.2.2 (starting with an OS 9.1 iMac disk..........the iMac had 8.6 on it) and updated the firmware; removed the hard drive, hooked it up to my Beige and copied some applications onto it.
    Everything works fine, except:
When my Brother printer (USB) is turned on, whether plugged directly into an original USB port or through a powered hub, the mouse icon still shows and moves, but clicking it does nothing.
This does not happen with the Beige. The printer works just fine plugged into the USB card or hub.
I have tried 2 mice and two keyboards; I have removed all the Brother software and extensions from the hard drive and reinstalled from the Brother CD. I have gone to Brother's website and looked for updates....nothing.
    Any ideas?

    Hi James.
Sounds like a hardware problem that could be unique to iMacs. It's probably best to drop in the CRT iMac forums and introduce yourself. Chances of finding a fellow traveller with a similar experience is greater there.

  • Iphone 3GS turns off and goes dead after i make or receive a call.

Hi i bought a Iphone 3Gs unlocked from a Grainger Games store in liverpool two days ago. I live in Ireland so returning would be hard but possible. I have charged the phone for 9 hours and it said 100 % charge but any time i make or receive a call it powers off and wont turn on until i charge it again. When i do charge it, it goes back to saying the percentage it was before it turned off .
Is there a way to fix this problem? Does it need a new battery or is it a problem with the phones hardware?
I would rather not have to return it but if i have to i will .
Can anyone help with this please.
    Thanks.

    It needs a new battery.

  • Loud speaker when play music or on phone call is quiet

When I play music on the speaker my sound is very quiet on my iphone like the max volume isnt that much and louspeaker when im on the phone is very quiet I was just wondering how to fix it I think its the dust that has got into it blockinbg some of the little holes and just wondering how to clean it I have a 3g 8gb iphone if that helps thanks.

No, there's nothing wrong with it in all likelihood.
The single speaker is only 1mm across so you shouldn't expect a big volume - I assume you have turned up the loudspeaker volume ?
