BB8900 bt disconnects when roaming to other network

Hi, I'm having a BB8900 and experiencin g trouble with BT when i roam onto another network when abroad.
Basically, the BB will disconnect the BT connection to the in-car system/hand sfreeset when i pass the boarder.
I've tested it with another phone and everything went just fine......y et when trying this with the bb, it simply disconnects .
Accordingvto the desktop sw the bb is updated with the latest os/firmware .
I already got a new sim from tmobile netherlands .
As long as. I say on my own network in the netherlands all works fine.
Tmobile can not provide any help as they do not know the problem......they offered a bt headset
As long as i stay in my own country and connected to my 'home-tmobile' network it all works fine.
It's very annoying to have a working in carsystem but driving around with the bb cabled headset.
Does anyone have such problems... ....and whats the resolution to this?
Many thanks for your feedback.
Raymond

Does you carrier have roaming agreements with the carriers of the other countries?
FYI, you need to have Data Roaming turned on to use data on those carriers.

• Xbox disconnects when laptop connects to network

My Xbox 360 disconnects from the network everytime my laptop connects. I have static IP on my 360 and automatic IP on my laptop.
I tried putting my Xbox on automatic, still didnt work.
I tried putting my laptop to manual - it worked but I can't leave it like this because I connect to different networks (school, home, work, etc).
Other computers/consoles dont get disconnected when I connect with my laptop.
Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

As you are already using static Ip on X-BOX, forward ports 88 & 3074 for the same Ip
Also try this setting:
Channel – 1or 11
Beacon interval – 75
RTS & fragmentation threshold – 2306

• WP8 Selecting Prefered Network Provider when Roami...

Hi,
I have a Lumia 820 and I'm about to travel to another country....
Would there be an option to select a prefered network provider when roaming?
I'm unable to find an this option under "network+" or "mobile network" in settings..
The reason for asking is that my current (home) network provider offers reduced roaming & data cost packages if I select specific network providers when abroad. My old "brick" phone allowed this option,or maybe the option will appear when I start roaming.
Thanks, Murphys001

When you arrive at your destination, goto Settings>mobile network>Network selection. The phone will start scanning for available networks. It will then list all available networks and all you have to do is to select the one you want. Don't forget to set it back to auto when you leave.

• No network when roaming with iOS 4.3.5

I have been using my - simlockfree - iPhone 3GS for more than two years with the same contract. Yesterday I upgraded to iOS 4.3.5, and starting today the iPhone does not find any network when roaming. I am living in Austria, my provide is A1. Usually there is no problem to travel to Italy, where my iPhone can choose between several 3G carriers. Today: no network found all over northern Italy, and also with frequent rebootings. Also resetting the network does not help at all...
Seems that there is a bug in 4.3.5.
Any remedy available ? Any work around ??
Michael

Yes, I know. It is not supported. But it is possible !! I found out a way to downgrade, but it is not even necessary.
Before going into the unsupported realms I tried the supported last resort: a "Full Restore".
It took about 2 hours to download the 420 MB 4.3.5 upgrade to my Macbook Air using a HUSPA USB-modem, and of course syncing and backing up the iPhone to the MBA did NOT save all the content I have on the backup in my Mac Pro back home, but after the full restore it found the local networks, and now I can at least use the iPhone again.
Summary: never travel with a recently upgraded iPhone and without a Macbook with a reliable alternative internet access setup.
And many thanks to Hutchison 3 for providing "3 like Home" roaming without any roaming charge...

• Time Capsule WiFi disconnects when a Fujitsu Siemen Laptop with b/g network

Time Capsule WiFi disconnects when a Windows Vista based Laptop with "b/g" network connects. When i use Macbook with "n" Network.
Surprising that TC and MacBook both from Apple can't stay connected when Fujitsu Siemens Laptop joins through WiFi.
I use a DSL Modem (Speed 1 Mbps) connected thru ethernet to Time Capsule on Bridge Mode.

Yes, n is better, but if you have it running on b/g/n (since you have to with your b/g only notebooks) the n is inactive. Kind of a waste. Others have resorted to adding another wireless router which one set to b/g/n and the other n-only.

• Wireless Network disconnect when plugging or unplugging A/C power on T60

Wireless disconnects whenever I connect or disconnect the power supply (no matter what percentage of remaining battery).
ThinkPad T60
This issue is reproduceable and also happens on my coworker's T60 too.
Message Edited by perlphp on 12-13-2008 03:14 PM

I am told this can be caused by Deep Smart PowerDown enabled on the WIRED
connection, which causes the adaptor to vanish from the list in
Windows.
The wireless then disconnects, even though you're not using the wired adaptor!
To fix this:
1) Control Panel -> Network Connections
2) Locate the icon for your wired connection, right click, properties.
3) Click the configure button top right
4) In the advanced tab, scroll down the list until you find "deep
smart power down" (called something different on a T61) and change the
state to disabled.
5) Click OK twice.
This fixed my disconnection problem!

• Powerpoint 2013 throwing 'File in Use' errors when saving to a network drive, file is NOT in use

One of our sites is having a strange issue when saving to a network location in Powerpoint. I'm not sure it's a Powerpoint problem, but it's a place to start...
When saving a ppt to a mapped network drive (the client is running Windows 8 / Office 2013, the network drive is a DFS share, pointed to a Server 2012 machine if that matters), users will almost always get the following error:
"Someone else is working in (filepath\name) right now. Please try again later."
This happens regardless of where the file is being saved on the network drive, in fact it happens even when there is no pre-existing file with that name in the location. So, even if I'm saving a brand new copy of test.pptx to F:\Share\PPT where there
is not currently a test.pptx, I get the error.
Word, Excel, and all other tested apps save properly. Powerpoint can save correctly to the local computer, but not to the network drive or to My Documents (which redirects to the same network drive).
When the error pops up, if I look in Open Files in Computer Management on the Fileserver, I see the file I'm trying to save listed as being open, but it shows 'Disconnected' rather than a username.
Any suggestions would be appreciated - again, not sure that this is a Powerpoint problem - could be Windows 8 or some mysterious DFS thing...
Thanks.

Hello,
Been having a very similar issue in our environment and just came across this thread while Googling and looking for answers.
In our case, we have Windows 7 clients and 3 main files servers - 2 are Server 2008 R2, and one is Server 2012. We use PeerLink File Collaboration to sync the files between
the servers (similar concept to DFS). For us, it seems to happen specifically with Excel 2013, and only when saving to the Server 2012 file server. I can reproduce the message pretty much every time. After seeing your post,
I tried it in Powerpoint just out of curiosity, but it saved properly - Word saves properly as well.
Been doing a bunch of testing to try and narrow it down, and this is what I've found:
Excel 2013 -> Server 2012 = error message.
Excel 2013 -> Server 2008 R2 = no error message.
Excel 2010 -> Server 2008 AND Server 2012 = no error message.
We've been leaning towards the PeerLink replication as the culprit up to this point, but last night I did some testing with the PeerLink Collaboration turned off, and
still received the error message.. so now I'm even more confused!
I see that it's been a few months since your post.. have you made any progress here?

• Netcenter Drive Disconnects When Copying: Error -36

I recently purchased a 250 GB Western Digital Netcenter Drive for my network. Model Number: WDXE2500JBN
I am able to connect directly to the drive by using either the Network browser in Finder or mapping to the drive directly using "Connect to Server" in Finder with the IP address of the drive, i.e.: smb://10.10.10.10/shared
The drive inconsistently disconnects when copying any amount of data (I am trying to backup my iTunes). After a few minutes of copying I receive the following error:
'The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "" could not be read or written. (Error code -36).'
I have tried to reconnect, reboot, restart, the computer, router, Netcenter and still Finder gives me the message after copying approximately a gig worth of data.
If you have some suggestions or thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it-
I also have a Windows 2000 and Windows XP machine on my network and they are able to copy and connect to the drive without any issues.
MacBook Pro 15" 2.16 Intel Core Duo Mac OS X (10.4.8)
MacBook Pro 15" 2.16 Intel Core Duo Mac OS X (10.4.8)
MacBook Pro 15" 2.16 Intel Core Duo Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I did, they said it is an issue with how OS X handles Samba connections.

• BT Infinity Lag and Disconnections when another co...

Hello, I have had BT infinity since the 28th of January and love the new found speeds I now have. However whenever my sister uses the internet for Netflix and other on-demand streaming services my connection on both my laptop and more importantly my Xbox drops out and I get disconnected.
This to me shouldn't happen especially on an infinity line. I am on Unlimited Infinity 1 + Calls as the maximum speed for my line would be just over 40Mbps so going onto Infinity 2 would have been pointless.
Information on my home setup:
All devices are connected wirelessly - NOTE - I know that a wired connection would help but this is not possible due to distance between the router and my room. Also I think this is just a cop-out answer, it shouldn't just disconnect when another person uses it even on wireless.
There is a total of 4 devices that can connect at any one time but usually only three - The Xbox, My laptop and my sister's laptop.
The disconnections happen whenever my sister uses streaming services even at 2:00am like today which is what has brought me to this forum.
Any advice and answers would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think it is just my sister's laptop causing it I think its the fact she is using things like Netflix at the same time as me playing xbox. I had thought about those Powerline Adaptor's if thats what you mean by "homeplugs", but it would require me to put an long ethernet cable through the ceiling into the room above and do it from there as there would be no other way due to the location of my router.
Would that be okay?
Do these Powerline Adaptors give the same speed and reliability as a wired connection?
There is no need to install ethernet cable with homeplugs, as that's the point of them.
The major benefit of powerline networking is that users can easily establish a network using a home's existing electrical wiring as the communication medium. There is no need to drill holes in walls or ceilings to route new wiring and, as a result, installation is quick, easy and relatively inexpensive. Powerline networking is an easily accomplished networking method for AC-powered devices, which by necessity must already be near power outlets.

• Clock out of sync when roaming

I went abroad for a few weeks and the clock never synced with network time. Because of that, the time was never correct and could gain upto 2 minutes each time I rebooted. I have an O2 Pre at version 1.4.1.

Hello and welcome to the forums;
When roaming, you can turn off network time and if you run into a situation where your time is off, you can then manually set it.
There is also a homebrew app that can sync your device to internet time (much the same way most PCs update time) however as this is homebrew, we are unable to offer additional support for installation or how to use it. www.precentral.net will have all the information you need, and a great support community that can help with installation and troubleshooting if you choose that route.
Hope this helps,

• TS1424 When I ave network coverage, my wi if drops out. I am only able to access my music on my phone when I have no network signal, otherwise all songs are greyed out

I can only access my wi if, when I have no network signal. As soon as I move to a better signal area, my wi Di connection drops out.
I have music on my phone, but again, I cannot access this in the gym, when I have a network signal.
I also cannot access some of my apps, as they are greyed out. Please advise

Grey text when you look at the content and a lock symbol at the bottom of the screen just indicates that the iPod is set to sync automatically with iTunes. If you want to connect an iPod to multiple computers, play the iPod songs through iTunes, delete songs from the iPod, drag songs from iTunes, add playlists to the iPod etc. you need to change the update setting to "manually manage songs and videos". The text will change from grey to black and everything will be directly accessible through iTunes:
Managing content manually on iPod
Using iPod with Multiple computers
Syncing Music to iPod
Something to remember about using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod
