.bbb files into new Q10

Hello
I've lost my BB Curve and bought the new Q10. I have my backup file with all my contacts. How can I make Q10 to recognize it ? The file is .bbb type.

On your Manage Connections screen, click on the Services Status.
What is the status of the BlackBerry Internet Service?nevermind, I don't know what i was thinking, you CAN restore a legacy OS backup to a new Q10, using the LINK software on desktop PC.
Download/install Link.
Connect the Q10.
Click on the upper right gear icon
click in the left side panel > RESTORE
In the center screen pop-up, click on the LEGACY device backup.
Proceed.
And a warning, if you had any Address Book Groups addresses in the earlier contacts, it will not restore any of your contacts.
Anyway, you made the disparing comments, etc., if you can't take feedback and responses, don't make the comments. Protect has been available for over four years, and it is there for your data safety. I don't work for RIM/BlackBerr, I'm a user just like you. These forums are user to user as you will see posted at the top of EACH page of the forum.

How to import old iPhone SMS.CSV file into new iPhone?

Hey everyone,
So I've spent a couple days on this as I just upgraded to the iPhone5S from my 4S. Long story short, my backup restore didn't work after multiple tries (gave me the file is corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone error).
I tried:
-reinstalling itunes
-updating itunes
-combining the 5S backup with the old 4S backup
-tinyumbrella
and a few of other things as I've forgot now.
The most important things I needed was the contact list and SMS history. I've got the contact list from extracting is successfully from the iTunes backup folder and using iCloud, but cannot figure out how to import the SMS.CSV file into my iPhone5S.
Any suggestions on how I can get my SMS messages from my iPhone4s into my 5S?
If anyone has any other suggestions on getting my Backup Restore to work that would be awesome too!

A word on SMS text messages. It is pracitcally impossible to import an SMS text-messages file to a new iPhone and have the Messages app on the new device read the messages.
You can transfer, however contacts and other individual data (such as calendars and notes) from one iphone to the next. I had my old Nokia which whose contacts I exported to a CSV file. I then imported the file to my iphone which converted the file into multiple contacts in the Contacts app on the iphone. You can use a contact management app such as this one in order to import the contact file to the new iPhone.

Moving files into new folders (help needed)

Hi it would be grate if some one could help me....
in/with my program i need to move a file (mp3) from one folder into a new folder???

...i was and i also tried with out it...here is my code (for both classes!)
it does not have the returnTo()...i took it out...this is working...but the mp3 files need to be moved into the files that have been created or already exist...

Transferring files into new computer

I have a new MBP on order. Upon arrival, I would like to copy my "Safari" bookmarks & "RSS" feeds, and my "iTunes" podcasts into the new computer. I use an external backup, so I can copy these files (settings) onto the drive, then on to the new laptop once it arrives.
Does anyone know where these files (settings) reside?

safari bookmarks are kept in the bookmarks.plist. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301239 as far as the podcasts go, are they stored in your itunes library?? if so, it is easiest to use an ipod to transfer them. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173

Can't drag music files into new shuffle. Pls? Thx.

Good Morning.
Using a computer (G4 MDD) with an iPod mini on it already.
Created a new user account named ipod.
Switched to that user account, installed/configured new iPod Shuffle named it
Nicks and tried to drag music over to the main iTunes page to no avail. (Keeps snapping back)
See both ipod mini and Ipod shuffle in finder while under "Nicks" login account.
Any advice please?

I'm not sure you have to create a new user account, but you do have to give the Shuffle a different name than your other iPod. If you plan to share the same Library with the two devices (which I do with a Shuffle and a 30G 3G) you don't need the separate accounts.
Do you really have OS 9.2.x or is the software here having problems with the profiles?

Recovering OS 10.5.9 files into OS 7 (Lion)

My old G5 Power Mac crashed and I needed a new computer...fast...for my business. I purchased a new iMac with Mac OS 10.7 (Lion). My business files were back-upped on Time Capsule. I set up the new iMac and used the Migration Assistant to recover my files from the old computer, which were backed up on Time Capsule. The Recovery process partitioned the files into "new" and "old" administrators. Incompatible software was placed in a folder named "Incompatible Software" at the 'root level' of the new computer. I'm still in the process of consolidating old and new, updating software to for compatibility with Lion, etc. Before I start purchasing new software and/or upgrades, I wanted to see which applications were "incompatible", but I can't seem to locate the "Incompatible Software" folder. When operating in the "new" partition, I do not see how to access the 'root level' to open the Incompatible Software folder.
Can anyone tell me how to locate this folder?
Also, I want to transfer files and folders from the old partitions into the new partition. How to I do that easily (if that's possible).

I think I've found the answer to some of my issues. When I posted these questions, related topics came up and I've found some answers.
i followed the advice from these other links and have found all the PPC applications that are incompatible. I'll review them to find if "updates/upgrades" are available or necessary.
Once I've transferred all the files that I need and apps that are compatible with Lion, I would like to remove all the old incompatible "Classic" and "PPC" apps and residual code that will not be useful or needed. Is there a resource than can advise me how to do this? Is just using the uninstaller from these older apps the simpliest and safest procedure, or is there an easier way to clear my computer of these unnecessary files?

Gb3: problems recording and importing sound file to new track

since i upgraded from version 2, i can't record or import files into new tracks, including loops! anyone experienced this or have an idea what i could try to fix it? existing files still play, but nothing new will work.

The first two things I would suggest trying, in order:
o Repair Permissions
o Delete GB's prefs Files
. (Search your Hard Drive for "GarageBand" and delete the files that end in ".plist" and ".cs")

I found the answer to my question.
When you attach a device (iPhone, iPad) to your Mac, in iTunes 12 in appears as a tiny icon in the second "row" of the iTunes display. Click the icon and the familiar iTunes display for the device appears. From there, on the Summary screen, you can see the dates of the backups of the device (iCloud and backup to the computer). You can also use the button to backup to the computer.

The old computer is a 2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
The new one is a 2.3 GHz intel core i7
In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem. Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page. Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.)

The sync is one way - computer to ipod. the only exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to buy a 3rd party program to get non-itunes purchased music from the ipod.

Automate 'Load files into stack' and save as new file

Hello there,
I hope someone can help me with the following issue:
I have 300 folders, each containing 100 images which I need to open as layers, change the opacity to 1% for every layer, flatten the image and then save as a new file. So for every folder I would need one new file generated from the 100 originals.
I know how to do it manually, i.e. load every folder with the 'Load files into stack' command and let an action run for the rest, but that does take some time with 300 folders. Maybe someone knows how to manipulate the 'load files into stack' script so that it does the job independently.

I think you would be better off starting from scratch with a new script for the design and structure of the 'Load files into stack' script is not easy to comprehend.

What are you trying to achieve here anyway?
If you want to »blend a movie into one image« like a continuous exposure of the whole movie on photographic paper (and it has been done) changing all layers opacity to 1% might be not altogether the ideal route.
Instead converting the Layers to one Smart Object and invoking Layer > Smart Layers > Stack Mode > Mean might be better in that all layers contribute to the resulting values equally.

New to Imac,music file into itunes

It would be easier to answer if you use the word "iTunes" to refer to the application, and "songs" to refer to the tracks themselves, otherwise it is confusing.
The reason why iTunes still "sees" your songs is that the database files are still there even if you manually trashed the songs themselves. You need to start over IF you added no NEW music in iTunes on the new machine :- trash the iTunes folder in Music on the new iMac (iTunes should not be running).
Next, link the two computers via their FireWire ports, then start the old iMac in Target Disk Mode (hold the T key down while it is booting). The old iMac will then appear on your new iMac's desktop. Start iTunes on your new iMac, check "Copy songs to iTunes..." in Preferences. Then using Add to Library... point to your old Music Folder which is in the old iMac (and which you can access just as if it was an external HD).
If you had Protected (DRM) tracks on the old computer, you will need to Authorise your new machine in iTunes in order to play them.

The funtionality I need is that I want finder to rename the files in folder when I drop a new file in. When I add the new file (file neame: "1") to a folder, I want to increment the other file names in the folder by 1.
So when I drop a my new "1" file into the folder, the file original file called "1" will be renamed "2", the original file named "2" will be renamed "3" etc
I'm creating a 'stream' of images. When I add a new image i want it to nudge the other images in the folder along.

iTunes does not actively scan the media folders. If you manually add content to a folder, then you must add that content to iTunes manually via the File > Add File/Folder feature.
The only folder that gets scanned is the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder.
