BBB Removal Success
Good afternoon, My Utility was reporting me dilinquent with 30, 60, 90, and even multiple 120's when I was on a payment plan and paying on time every month. After multiple calls and emails to them, getting no where but receiving plenty of attitude along the way, I decided to file a BBB complaint. My complaint was completely legitamit. I wasn't complaining about something that trully was or should have been in negative standing. So i stated that I wanted 2 accounts listed in negative standing (from my previous house and current house, it should have only been one account) completely closed. They sent me back some email stating that it was correct and that they would call me. I replied saying that I did not want them to call me as their customer service is lackluster and unhelpful and that I again would only accept these accounts being removed. They replied once again saying that it was justified. I responded back with an attachment of a previous bill (that I had saved last year, these can no longer be saved from that sight) and it showed where it stated what was due and that was what I paid. They apparently knew they had no leg to stand on so a representative called me. She stated that they reviewed the account and would completely remove the old account from my credit report. I said while I appreciate that, there has to be more that can be done. I told her that this is preventing me from being able to buy a house. I told her I am always on time with my payments and simply paid what was asked of and agreed on with me. I asked her to please revisit it with her supervisors and she said she would and would contact me back. I got a phone call about 2 hours later that said "Dan, you are very fortunate, my supervisors have agreed to completely remove all deragatories from your credit and delete the old account" HOW EXCITING IS THAT?! This has been a long time coming!!!! Persistance and escalation proves to be fruitful! How much does anyone think my score will raise from this?
Sweeet. If those are the only recent derogs in the last 24 months you could get a really nice score bump.

IPod Scratch Removal Success Story
in trying to pry the near impossible-to-remove Speck See-Thru case from my two-day old iPod with Video, having to use force and knowing the risk of potential scratching, i was horrified when, "POP," the case came off, only to leave behind a large, 1.5" gouge right across the upper right corner of the screen on.
my brand new iPod with Video. scratched. my heart sank.
so, i began the research into scratch removal products. most of the stuff i found online (iCleaner, iDrops, Ice Creme, etc) all claimed to do the job, but they were both expensive and i would have to wait. i wanted something quicker.
so, i ended up going to an auto parts retailer and purchasing a bottle of Mother's California Gold Scratch Remover, the same product used to remove scratches from cars, cars with clearcoating, fiberglass cars, and fiberglass boats. it cost under $5 (USD).
i also bought a $5 (USD) natural chamoise ("shammy") cloth. it's super-soft and again, used on a variety of cars, boats, etc.
within twenty minutes of set-up, actual application/buffing of the iPod, and cleanup, the gouge that scarred the iPod was completely gone. GONE.
leftover were some very, very faint swirl marks from using pressure when buffing. from everything i've read, this was totally common and normal, since the iPod's front is clear acrylic.
for me, it was a pricesless trade-off to have some barely noticable swirl marks versus the giant gouge on the screen.
today, i purchased a $3 (USD) metal polishing product at my local Lowe's hardware, called Brasso, which is raved about online as the do-it-all iPod cleaner. i will use this to shine-out the remaining swirls.
overall, very happy with the choice i made, and thought i'd share to possibly benefit someone else in the future. i hope this post was helpful!
good luck.
8500, G4Cube, 2x2Ghz G5; Nano2, iPod20, Photo60, Video60 Mac OS X (10.3.4) Original Mac user since 1985sounds like a good trick! however, for the gouge i mentioned above, liquid soap didn't cut it for me. i tried several "home remedies" before reaching for the big guns. another trick i'd heard about (and yes, even tried) was Colgate's Whitening toothpaste. some folks will swear by it. all it did for my iPod was make it smell minty for a spell. hehe
thx for the tip, tho. i think all efforts are valuable.
i should add also, that i just ordered the Power Support Crystal film skins and the Agent 18 VideoShield case to protect the iPod in the future. i've used the ClickShield for my iPod Photo and it was the best investment.

Problem removing bundles from group with ZLMAN
I am having trouble removing a bundle from a bundlegroup with the zlman utility. The syntax I am using seems correct and the groups and bundle name are also.
Here is the command and it's output from the command with the debug option: (if I use a bogus name for the package the output will tell me that the bundle was removed successfully :-)
This ZLM72IR2 with Hot-Patch 3
Any ideas?

Remove mailbox database copy from DAG
Hi There,
We would like to remove the mailbox database copy from our exchange server as we are lack of the space on our fixed vhd and we hope to be able to free about 100GB from the passive database copies as we have deployed DAG. is there any guidelines or procedures
to safely remove the database copies? currently, we have 4 mailbox servers, HQMB01, HQMB02, SSMB01, and SSMB02. HQMB01 and HQMB02 is already part of DAG members by itself. however, on ssmb01 and ssmb02, we also add in HQMB01 and HQMB02 as the DAG member,
thus they can fail over to HQMB01 or HQMB02 if their server have issue. in this situation, SSMB01 and SSMB02 passive copies is also inside our HQMB01 and HQMB02. As the our HQMB01 and HQMB02 is lack of the disk space and we would like to remove SSMB01
and SSMB02 from the DAG, thus we could remove the passive database copies. The following is the picture of the activation preference for all servers. what is the procedures and the guidelines to remove mailbox database copy and also remove the server from
the DAG members? we are quite confuse and worry that after we are removing wrongly and cause the active database to lost as we understand that there is replication happening between them. as we have 4 mailbox servers from which server we should perform
the task? Wish to get some advises from the exchange guru from this forum. we are on exchange server 2010 sp1 and windows server 2008 R2.Thanks so much.

thanks so much for the prompt response..i have few queries to ask following your guidelines above:
1. from the show result above, I am still confuse which server that I should go to remove as this is involving 4 database copies. from what I understand from the truncation or replay lag times of SSDB01 and SSDB02, I can see that HQMB01 and HQMB02 are on
the third and fourth preference, which means that SSDB01 and SSDB02 will be able to failover to each of them when there is a failure and it cause the passive copies of both of SSDB01 and SSDB02 to be stored in the HQMB01 and HQMB02. what my purpose
is to remove both SSDB01 and SSDB02 passive copies in HQMB01 and HQMB02. in this case, should I login to SSDB01 or SSDB02 mailbox servers to perform the removal with your guidelines above?
2. is the command as below:
Remove-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity SSDB01\HQMB01 -Confirm:$False
Remove-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity SSDB01HQMB02 -Confirm:$False
Remove-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity SSDB02\HQMB01 -Confirm:$False
Remove-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity SSDB02\HQMB02 -Confirm:$False
will this cause the risk either of my HQDB01, HQDB02, SSDB01, and SSDB02 active copies accidentally being removed? I am sorry that I am a bit naggy and always want a confirmation as this is very critical and I must be super careful.
3. If after the removal successful, when is the best time to go to the drive where the passive copies stored and remove them so I can clear some space on my disk? and is it just as simple by going to the drive and do a folder file deletion manually?
because I just worry when I delete the file and the server is still replicating between each other, which will cause even corruption to the active database.
4. From point 3, you mention about when the server is empty. what do you mean by that? do you mean that when the passive copies are no more there? and what command that I used to check?
5. From point 4, is removing the server from DAG the last step to be performed? yes, I want to remove them from DAG, thus will left only HQMB01 and HQMB02 as one DAG and SSMB01 and SSMB02 as one DAG.
Thank so so much for your patient and attention.

Usage: srvctl <command> <object> [<options>]
oracle@node1:/crs_home/bin>
But in the HELP it shows the object listener
oracle@node1:/crs_home/bin> srvctl remove
Usage: srvctl <command> <object> [<options>]
command: enable|disable|start|stop|relocate|status|add|remove|modify|getenv|setenv|unsetenv|config
objects: database|instance|service|nodeapps|asm|_listener_
For detailed help on each command and object and its options use:
srvctl <command> <object> -h
oracle@node1:/crs_home/bin>
Question:
Is it also possible to use crs_unregister to remove the listener ?
From the Metalink document:
The srvctl remove listener command used below is only applicable in 10204 and higher releases including 11.1.0.6. The command will report an error if the clusterware version is less than 10204. If clusterware version is less than 10204, use netca to remove the listener
But I have version 10.2.0.4 - and netca won´t delete the listener, because the maschines are not available
ChristianHi,
I cannot remove the listener and vip entries

Received a letter from Capital One aka HSBC that they were in fact deleting all reference to their account from my credit reports. WOW I was NOT expecting that!!! I was waiting to see how that GW went before I sent one to Capital One themselves. They are my last baddie. Guess it's worth a shot right????

I was able to get my HSBC CO removed and Cap One stated they would purge their records of the account. I had settled with a CA on it and also had GW removal success with them. Now if Cap One would just budge on my settled CO with them... -

MediaSync removes music, even though that music is selected
This has happened a few times. Using the Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac, I have several playlists selected for syncing (and these have been the same since I set this up). When I sync, sometimes the music sync takes a long time. So I open the log window to discover that this is removing music, rather then syncing it. This is what the log shows:
2010-04-22 01:47:25.665 INFO default MediaSync Updating; remove DTrack <song>
2010-04-22 01:47:25.672 INFO default MediaSync File removed successfully: /Volumes/BLACKBERRY2/BlackBerry/music/Media Sync/<song>
2010-04-22 01:47:25.684 ERROR*** default MediaSync Cannot open file at: <path>/<song>
2010-04-22 01:47:25.685 ERROR*** default MediaSync Failed to copy track from: <path>/<song> to: /Volumes/BLACKBERRY2/BlackBerry/<song>
Every song that was on the blackberry is gone after this. Then if I sync again, the songs are placed back on the blackberry. This process takes "hours"!Is no one else having this issue? Is it me alone? Anyone care to contribute? Anyone at BB take notice?

Which List should be used, to remove in a thread safe way?
Hello all,
I plan to have a List, where n number of Threads will accessing the List.
When two or more thread trying to remove an equals items from the List, only one of the thread will remove successfully (i,e, remove(Object o) will return true). The rest of the threads will realize remove(Object o) returns false
I wish to achieve this. I know that I can achieve by using :
Collections.synchronizedList(new ArrayList(...))However, I afraid having the synchronized block will slow down my execution speed. Is there other way, that I achieve the same objective with faster speed? For example, using CopyOnWriteArrayList?
Thanks!Sorry,
I said "badly" because it is synchornized by putting "synchronized" keyword on most of the methods prototypes.
Which equals to synchronizing on "this".
In my opinion, one problem of this implementation is that 2 calls to a get() method will be synchronized wherever they dont need to. (As get() does not modify the vector). [See Edit]
One other is you can synchronize on the Vector's mutex (itself) outside of the Vector's code.
And at last, as synchronizedList is not implemented by a Vector and is more recent than the Vector implementation...
I guess they implemented it in another way for many good reasons...
[Edit]
As i can see in Collections, the synchronizedList is implemented in the same way.
BUT, as the synchronized keyword is not in the method's prototype, we can expect the implementation to be changed a day...
And vector is a kind of old object kept for backward compatibility i guess. (someone can confirm ?). ("As of the Java 2 platform v1.2, this class has been retrofitted to implement List, so that it becomes a part of Java's collection framework.")
@KwangHooi
You can write your own implementation of a List which will not synchronize on the same token for both read/write operations. (but, i guess it could be hard to avoid deadlocks) -

How to make the Creative Cloud Uninstaller run silently ?
Hi all,
We created a deployment using Adobe Application Manager (AAMEE) in order to deploy Adobe Creative Cloud silently. That works fine. Now, when we uninstall the software, by running msiexec /x {productcode_of_the_msi_that_was_generated_using_AAMEE}, there's a log entry in the Event Viewer saying Removal success or error status: 0, which is good. However, there's one remaining entry in the "Programs and Features"-list in Windows 7 control panel: "Adobe Creative Cloud"
So I took a look in the registry and I found the uninstall string for that program: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud\Utils\Creative Cloud Uninstaller.exe". Problem: this uninstaller won't run silently! Or at least I didn't find any switches / command line parameters to make it run silently. Does anyone know how to make it run silently?
Question for Adobe in case there are no silent options for this uninstaller : can you explain me why you create tools (AAMEE) to generate silent installers but still leave traces on the computer that can't be uninstalled silently???
As an application packager I would also like to address this general message to all the big software making companies out there (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Adobe etc.) : other big companies that buy your software, mostly want to install and uninstall it without user intervention. So please package it so that we don't need to spend extra time and money deciphering your fancy, exotic installers / uninstallers. MSI is quite a good standard you know...
Thanks all of you!Hi,
If I understood correctly, you have created an installation package including creative cloud desktop app through creative cloud packager not AAMEE.
Adobe creative cloud doesn’t get uninstalled even if all the products and updates are removed from machine. But this will not cause any issues (or extra space) on installation of new package.
Its recommended that if the package is modified (adding more products or updates to existing package) and installed then it should be uninstalled via msi of modified package.
Thanks,

MaxDB install failure on Win 2003 Server
Win 2003 Server
MaxDB v 7.6.05.09
HP Proliant G5
Good morning,
We've got a problem with a MaxDB install on a fresh Win 2003 server.
- The first install process and the demo database worked fine
- We tried to create a new database instance and it hung. As nothing was working as expected we decided to uninstall maxdb and all its component and to re-start from a clean process. That's were things are becoming weird :
- The first time the setup assistant hung when installing the kernel
- The secund time the setup assistant hung when installing the demo database
- Every following test hangs when installing the kernel
We tried to do a clean uninstall MaxDB, to watch which registry keys we should restore... but nothings worked as expected.
We found a link at this address describing the same problem but it doesn't provide us anything to solve our problem.
Here is our log file :

STDOUT: extractiHI there,
it really does look like as the "uninstallation" was done by merely deleting files from the filesystem.
This will always lead to problems when you try to re-install a MaxDB afterwards.
Uninstallations should be done via SDBUNIST to avoid such issues.
Based on the error messages like:
getRelease():C:/Program Files/SDB/MAXDB1/pgm/kernel.exe not found
MSG: migrate server installation data for INSTROOT "c:/program files/sdb/maxdb1"
MSG: installed package is flaged as invalid => skipping update check

>WRN: cannot execute command: xregcomp -u "c:program filessdbprogramsliblivecachedbg": cannot create process, Le fichier spÈcifiÈ est introuvable.
we can tell: the MaxDB installation registration had not been deleted correctly.
If I'd to guess, I'd say you just deleted whatever was in the folder "c:program filessdb" and crossed fingers that this would do.
Anyhow, on this system, due to the usage of non-SAP-standard folder layout check this one, the installation registration can by found in the all users data folder:
>MSG: Template set indep data path to "c:/documents and settings/all users/application data/sdb/data"
This would have to be removed as well.
Anyhow, maybe you want to read the documentation before messing up your system by try and error:
Installation Manual
