I've found some Musical Note symbols in Apple's own 'Symbols' font, but I can't find any way of actually using them - when I select this font in DVD Studio Pro's 'Show Fonts', all I'm getting is normal plain text.
I've been fiddling around with this for some time now, and I've also lost myt original fonts tool in DVD Studio Pro - I now have just a drop down fonts display and vcan't get the original 'Show Fonts' window back.

"Recently Updated" on iPod Touch Only Shows Music, not Podcasts
I have a 'Recently Updated' smart Playlist in iTunes, set for 'Added in the Last Week' and 'Live Update'. The iTunes 'Recently Added' shows music, podcasts and movies, but when sync'ed, the iPod Touch (3rd Gen, 32GB) 'Recently Added' only shows music.
Tried setting 'Media Type' to 'Podcasts' and 'Music' but it results in an empty playlist...
Any ideas?
TIA,There are some known quirks with how smart playlists sync to the Touch. In theory the contents (and sort order) should match when you compare the playlist on the Touch vs. your iTunes library, but that's not the case due to a bug in the 3.1.x OS on your Touch.
As a workaround you can try un-checking the Live Updating option, but then that not only disables Live Updating on the Touch it also disables it in iTunes, so you'd have to re-check this option and then un-check it again each time you re-sync.
Another possibility is to define a mixed-logic smart playlist:
Date Added Is In The Last Week
AND
(Media Kind is Music) OR (Media Kind is Podcast)
You can do this as follows:
1- Enter your Date Added criteria
2- Click on the (...) to "indent" the next criteria.
3- Add the criteria "Media Kind Is Music"
4- Click the "+" button to the right of this criteria, then add "Media Kind Is Poscast"
5- Set the top match rule to "All" and set the 2nd match rule (after your Date Added criteria) to "Any". -
Ovi Player / Ovi Suite Music not added to library
Ok more weird Ovi annoyances:
Ovi Music / Player does not add certain songs from my iTunes folders (all Non DRM m4a files) to its library, neither automatically nor does it let me add them manually.
However, if transferred to the handset (N97) manually they will play fine. They also play fine when opened via File|Open in Ovi Suite or Player.
I first noticed it with
e:\Users\Max\Music\iTunes\Music\Israel Kamakawiwo'ole\Over the Rainbow - Single\ Over The Rainbow.m4a
Which I cannot add to the library in any way.
Ok, I thought, Ovi trips up on special characters, but

Al right then, has to be that Ovi trips up over legal Windows path names that are too long for Ovi.

Sometimes when trying to add an album, only certain titles are not added, while the rest of the album is.
There seems to be no pattern whatsoever to this behavior, since it's not path lengths or special characters tha keep songs from bein added, it's also nit file type related as there some MP3s i can't add as well.
Note that M$ Media Player 11 has no issues adding the same bits to its own library.
I run Win 7 Pro 32.

So the failures seem completely random, which would not be so tragic if you got a second chance, which you don't.
I'd still like to know what I need to delete to get rid of the entire music library. I just need OVI-Music / Suite to get some of my music to my phone and this should not be so tedious!
Ovi Suite seems to sotre stuff all over the place and you don't really know what's what, which makes fixing problems very frustrating.
iTunes keeps its stuff transparently in the same place, but then again I never had any such weird problems with it in the past 5 years.

thanksThen it's probably a characteristic of the encoder resulting in this. Not too much you can do about it other than transcode (preferably not) or recode. You can see if it's a header issue. I'm not sure if MP3 Scan & Repair works under new system versions but you could let it have a go. There's a few other utilities too but the free ones won't work on newer machines. MP3Trimmer has a repair tool too but I don't know if it's restricted to paid version.

I've begun watching the BBC News Player. I'm not in the UK, so it streams at 35 Kbps. This works fine on the office PC with Windows XP and Media Player, but at home with my PowerPC Mac Mini the film is jerky and of a lower quality. I've tried Safari 2.0.3 and Firefox 1.5.0.2 with RealPlayer 10.1.0 and Windows Media Player 9.0, but it makes no difference.
Other than that the Mac is great. I've edited my camcorder films and created DVDs with no problem, and the BBC Radio Player works just fine.
Is it just a feature of the Radeon 9200 that I'll have to live with? I use a Belinea 101920 Monitor and have a broadband internet connection.

with your monitor in the standard position (not turned upright through 90 degrees) reduce your resolution to 1024 x 820 and then return again to 1280x1024. Worked for me!

I have a iPhone 4s that I am trying to syn. when I look at IPhone content it shows music, but there is this symbol A dotted circle and these will not play. Please help as I am frustrated.
Try restoring the iPhone to factory settings. If you are having difficult restoring, put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and see if that then works:

If not, or if a restore to factory settings does not fix the problem, then your iPhone may have a hardware problem. You can only get the iPhone serviced by Apple in Canada, so you will have to take the iPhone there or send it to someone you know in Canada who can get the iPhone serviced and send it back to you. The only option for getting service in Pakistan would be to pay some unauthorized repair shop to attempt a repair, after which Apple will no longer provide any service even in Canada.

Hard of Hearing subtitles - musical note symbol needed
I'm including Hard of Hearing subtitles with all of our DVD releases, which I type up myself within DVDSP.
However, when music is playng, it would be nice to add some musical notes to indicate this. However, using Helvetica I'm unable to dispaly a suitable symbol.
Can anybody suggest a way of doing this? I've seen it on other DVDs and I'd like to do this too.You need a font that includes musical symbols - then you would have to specify that font in DVD-Sp for that part of the line of the subtitle.

When enabling iTunes Match on your iOS device, the music library on your iOS device will be deleted and then replaced with your music in iCloud.
Syncing music with iTunes will be disabled while iTunes Match is enabled on your iOS device.
By default, when adding an iOS device to iTunes Match, downloading over a cellular network is enabled1. To disable downloading over cellular for iTunes Match, choose Settings > Music > Use Cellular Data > Off.

Analog to DV via canopus - just the DVD/VCR player symbol
I'm not sure what to do. I'm trying to convert some VHS tapes to DVD. I'm using an "S" video cable and the firewire connection. The Canopus is set to "analog in", but all I get on the monitor is the DVD/VCR player symbol when I import. I've tried turning off the TV, but that doesn't change anything. I'm REALLY new to this - and Apple!
Also, where do I find the iMovie Trash?

Flash Player 11 Shows sucessful installation, but does not work
I have installed FLASH PLAYER 11 on a VISTA system using IE9.
I get a sucessfull installation when it is finished installing. But I can not view any Videos. I get the message that need to install the FLASH PLAYER to view the video.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the version as well as the 10.1 version with no sucess.
When I look at the CONTROL PANEL I see the FLASH PLAYER symbol. But when I goto the Programs and Features to uninstall it I do not see anything in the SIZE box
I also do not see the FLASH PLAYER 11 in any of the All Programs folders.
I tried to follow all of the online trouble shooting procedures to no avail.some people are having issues with the adobe download page. we ask that you download the uninstaller and installer directly from the links from this page: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3952360

restart your machine
run the installer
if you have a 64-bit system, you will only need to download the 64-bit installer. it will install 32-bit binaries also... -
I have a Zen Micro and I didn't update the firmware since purchase 2 years ago. It worked fine until this evening I transfered songs and they didn't show up on the player. They showed up on my pc as though they were in the player but they are not. I went ahead and updated to the latest firmware and software releases per this forum's instructions. The unit syncs up to the PC just fine and appears to transfer songs. They show up on my pc as though they are on the Micro but when I attempt to access them all my player says is " Select Music To Play From Music Library ". What am I missing?
I'm no expert, but I think Etomi would work for you. I've been downloading music from them for a while now, and while I haven't had an MP3 player to try and download the music to, I know that at the very least, music I got from Etomi is on my hard dri've, and I can burn CDs with those songs.
I also know there is some type of way to convert MP3 to WMA and vice versa although I've never done it.

I tried to sync and upload the iOS 5.0 version to my iphone 4 all was well it was processing then it just stopped and Now my actual I phone is frozen. I have turned it off. I have rebooted it several times the I phone itself shows a CD with a music not over it and under it in small letters iTunes with an arrow pointing up wards and a picture of the small end cable on the screen . it will not move change unlock it is frozen into that position.. how do i get the useage of my phone back this is rather daunting wehn all i was trying to do was up load the most recent version upgrade of iOS.. THe phone is NOT jail broken.. all i want to do is have it return back to how it was before i started the updae version process obviously it did not take and now it is locked into plave the screen will not change.. after reboots and shut down when i turn it back on the same screeen appears the cd disc with the music note over it and the arrow pointing upwards and a picture of the small end of the charge cord that fits into the actual compute.. The phoen is not jail broken all i want is to get my phone back so i can use it i logged into i tunes and there is no where on the page that gives direction to return it back to its original format prior to trying to up grade .. whe at do i need to do to unlock the frozen compent and reutrn it back to its normal point prior to trying the upgrade

If you click View, Show Sidebar you will see the other libraries under Shared in the left hand column. Click on the Library you want and you can expand it to select Music, Movies etc. Select whatever items you want and click import if you want to move them to your Library.
You will have to have all computers authorised with the relevant Apple ID's
Store > Authorise this computer...
This is separate from the Home Sharing username and password and is to allow playing of DRM Movies, TV shows etc from the other computer.
If both Computers use the same apple id this step is not required. -

When I check the programs list, it indicates that Adobe Flash Player Active X is installed. I have uninstalled adobe and reinstalled it several times. Do you suppose this is a virus, and I need to redo the hard drive completely?
