BBC iplayer will not open in safari 5.1.1

Any one else in uk finding that Safari 5.1.1 will not open the BBC iplay desktop.   I have to close down and use google chrome to open it.

Seem to have got it going.
Did an appzapp on adobe air & iPlayer desktop.
Reloaded both and got the 'prompt' on dowload choices.
Downloaded episode of The Killing, (very good if you haven't watched it!) in 15 mins.
What annoys me about the BBC is if you fill out a form to advise on a problem, by the time you get to the end of the form you get a reply that your session has timed out, just as you're about to send it!

  • In OSX 10.8.2 with Safari 6.0.2.  Many videos will not open in Safari

I am running OSX 10.8.2 with Safari 6.0.2.  Many videos will not open on Safari but open on Chrome. I have enabled javascript in Safari Preferences. I get a javascript void message when copying the link of the non-working videos. In one discussion about javascript problems in Mountain Lion a Java Preferences Ap in Utilities was used to fix the problem.  I do not have a Java Preferences Ap in Applications\Utilities. I am stuck.

I am having a similar issue, except mine is with a military site. The military sites use java althroughout for downloading files/image. The problem is that it never gives me the notice to enable java for these sites.
I would like to have the ability to manually tell safari to allow java on a particular site so this isn't an issue.
This would solve my issue and allow a way to activate java on sites that don't give you the option to allow it.

  • Acrobat XI will not open in Safari

I just installed Acrobat XI but it will not open PDF documents on the web with Safari 6.0.5.  I can open PDFs on my computer.  Have been using Acrobat X and it worked perfecty.  After installing XI from the Adobe Cloud, the first time I tried to open a PDF document on the web, I received a message that I must accept the user agreement.  I can not find anyway to do this.

I thought I did that. The Acrobat Pro icon in on my dock but I do not see the EULA and can not find it on the menu bar.

  • Web page will not open.  "Safari cannot open page.  I've deleted cache, reset, gone into proxy settings--(will not allow to go further--needs)

I am trying to figure out why some pages will not open.  I've tried proxy settings and it does not allow me to check boxes.  Certain pages--like groupon stuff--will not open.  Is there an easy fix?  Will you hep?  Thanks

I am so sorry to hear that you cannot open some web pages by typing a URL.
Please supply some specific examples, so other Readers can try them to see what the problem might be. Trial and error is impossible.

  • File Vault will not open after Safari/ITunes update

I just ran an update for Safari, ITunes, and Security, and after restart, I get the following after entering my password: "Your FileVault-Protected home folder did not open, and needs to be repaired. Click ok to repair, or cancel to cancel login"
Obviously, I clicked "Ok" to repair. and I got this message: "you are unable to log in to the user account XXXXX at this time. Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred"
    And that's ALL it does.
    Any suggestions?

I had the EXACT same thing happen. I ran those three updates, restarted and got the message you did. I talked to a 1-800 tech then had an appointment at the local Genius Bar today. They told me in order to recover the files in my user folder I will have to connect to another Mac HD via firewire and access the user folder by entering my FileVault password. Trouble is .... I don't have a Filevault password. I never set it up for fear I wouldn't remember the password and get locked out of my computer. Well, looks like Apple did it to me in spite of my best intentions.

    Hi...
    Go to  /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If you have trouble finding the files..
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
    Click Go

  • Since downloading 3.6.9, BBC iPlayer will not run in Firefox. It's OK on IE and Opera. What's up?

Mozilla advised the download of version 3.6.9 for security and stability reasons.
After installation I tried to stream some BBC content but could not get anything to download.
I have the latest Flash player and all the permissions are set correctly.
The iPlayer is looking different to what it was previously.
    Can you help

I should test it on my wife's old Xp with v3.6 - too late tonight - will check tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Craig.

  • All of my apple has programs will not open eg safari mail and stuff as well as system Prefs are in another language what should I do?

Hello I have recently installed a program called Mac keeper and it deleted some very important files, now I cannot open any of my apple programs like safari mail, photo booth, iChat, etc. If I reinstall leopard will it delete the accounts and files that are already on the
Computer? And I also found out that nobody on the computer thought of turning on time machine.

    Hi,
If you stick the Leopard Install Disk in the Computer and Launch the Installer you will get offered Options  and one of these is for Archive and Install with sub Option or Preserve Settings.
This will install the Software and the Apps but not touch any Home Folder of any User.
The Disk is likely to be at an earlier version of 10.5 and you will need to run Software Update (System Preferences) to get back to exactly where you were.

  • Email links will not open in Safari

So, I really have no clue what is going on. I downloaded Safari and having been using with no problems for several weeks now. Yesterday I started noticing that when viewing my emails ( use Incredimail) and when I try to click on a link in an email, the only thing it does is opens my homepage but won't take me directly to the page. Here's the catch...this morning I tried again, and not it appears to be very selective about what it opens..eg....opened link to this page when I requested password be reset, opened link to Disney website, but won't open links to other major stores, such as won't open like to sale for JcPenney, Home Depot, or Disney Movie club. I know all that info is really irrelevant, just wanted to give you an example of how selective it is being. I have tried restarting computer, I have checked my McAfee to setting, not sure what else to try. Any suggestions?

... sorry, I did not note that this was in the Windows forum - my error.

  • ITunes Store Will Not Open with Safari 4.0.4

When I attempt to access the iTunes store I get a message that says "iTunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the iTunes store within iTunes. Use software update to download and install the latest version of Safari." I am running Safari 4.0.4 and Software update says I have the latest versions of everything. I removed and reinstalled iTunes and removed and reinstalled Safari. Same message. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, has it been resolved? Thank you!

A long shot, but make sure Safari is set to accept cookies either "Always" or "only from sites I visit". If you have cookies turned off completely, that may cause a problem.
    Regards.
