BBM 5.0 Missing

BBM 4.7.1 was on my Tour when I first bought it, but I never used the app...I archived it. I decided to try BBM 5.0 so downloaded it from the AppWorld store and as expected, it wanted to overwrite the 4.7.1 version. I did this, but still can't find BBM anywhere on the device.
Tried unhiding everything, looking in all folders, nothing is archived, went back to the MyAppWorld and BBM 5.0 is showing up there as "Installed" and also on the device under Applications BBM 5.0 is there. The icon is nowhere to be found on the BB...I have looked everywhere

There is a problem right now with the avatars on BlackBerry Messenger. There are a couple of articles out - one is on Blackberryreview.com . Hopefully it will be resolved in a few days.

Over 1100+ BBM Contacts PIN Missing when upgrading from 9780 to Z10

Hi
Please help, I've lost over 1100 BBM Contacts, when upgrading using the Blackberry User ID, and when I reload them on my old 9780, it's not there anymore, these contacts are so important, I collected them for sales for over a year's period, very market specific and high net worth individuals which are very hard to come by.
now I only got 75 contacts on my Z10
Chronologies
At the start, there was 12 categories consisting each 100 contacts on my 9780.
First I signed in with my blackberry id on my new Z10 and transferring data from the 9780 using Blackberry Link.
and then it doesnt work, there's only 75 contacts on my z10 (I've used a dakota with the blackberry id before which has BBM 7 installed, and then switched to iPhone when the Dakota was missing, I'm guessing the 75 contacts is from when I used the Dakota)
and then I wipe out my Z10 with factory reset, I installed BBM 7 on my 9780 in the hope to restore my contacts when it auto updates my blackberry ID.
again I login with BB ID to my Z10, still got 75 contacts on my Z10, I wipe it clean again.
then I decided I wanted to revert to an older version of BBM and use local backup on my 9780, so I deleted my BBM 7 from my 9780... and reinstalled it from the Blackberry World...
And then there was no contacts on my 9780 except for the 75 contacts.
Is there any way I can restore my 1100 BBM Contacts? I've always set back up remotely when using my 9780 with BBM 6.2

BBM icon missing after update. need help asap please

Hi I'm using a bb bold 9780 and my bbm is 5.0.1.45 and when I tried updating it, it hangs whenever it finishes installing. And when I tired a battery pull, my bbm icon goes missing. Any idea how to solve this issue? Could really need some help here cos its quite impt. Thank you in advance

When you get a chance, do a battery pull. When the red light goes away on the front of the phone, hold down the back button the entire time while the phone is booting up. When the boot is complete, the phone will enter safe mode.

Try to delete it from there and do another battery pull / reinstall.

BBM icon not on phone

Hi. I was using my messenger and my phone hung. i removed the battery and restarted my phone. on restarting, the bbm icon was missing and i'm unable to find it anywhere on the phone. i tried downloading it again but the option is not avialable as it is showing as installed. how do i solve this???

Hello, I ugraded my softward last night and when I turned my phone on this morning my BBM icon was missing. I did a search but it returned nothing. My friend was able to send me a message and it was delivered. I have gone into app world to try to redownload it but when I open 'My world" my phone freezes and when I try to redown load it from seaching on app world my phone freezes.
Help....I live for BBM!!

HELPPP!!!!! BBM!!! PLEASSSEEE!!!

My phone froze one me one day and I had to reset it by taking out the battery and restarting it. Then I realized my bbm icon was missing. The side button was my bbm button as well. The icon was NOT hidden but just compeletly gone. I have tried calling my service provider for help. They did their best by asking me to check the hosting table route and by wiping out my phone and restoring it. Neither of these worked. I have even tried deleting the application and tried reinstalling it. I currently have it in my applications but do not have access to it. It is missing and gone. I can't go onto bbm. Please help??

you can ask your provider to re-install your device OS. which will restore all the default applications. but before that, backup your contacts and important data.

BLACKBERRY MYSTERY / BBM CRASHED

[BB Q10] We missed the shortcut key on BBOS with physical qwerty keyboard!

Dear Development Team,
On behalf of a lot of BBer in Vietnam and all over the world, I'd like to ask you to bring the home screen shortcuts features from BBOS to BB10.
Especially for Blackberry Q10, the more using Q10, the more we miss the shortcuts on BBOS, should we come back to BB which loaded by BBOS???
I missed the key A,K: to lock the keyboard, screen.
I missed the key P, C: to enter to phone or contact.
I missed the key U: to start calculator.
I missed the key L: to go to calendar.
I missed the key D, T: to make a memo and task.
I missed the key N: go to BBM
And I missed more and more them all while using Q10. Why don't you just bring it back on BB10?
Once again, We strongly, absolutely, definitely suggest you to bring it back on BB10 before we change our mind.

Q10 blackberry bridge to playbook problem

I have installed blackberry bridge on Q10 and playbook. Successfully paired them up. However, on the playbook, i only see Calendar, BBM icons, but missing the email icon, which is the most useful one. why please?

Currently the only Bridge features available in the Bridge folder are SMS and BBM. You can't read the BB email on the Playbook any longer. You will need add the email account to the Playbook just as it's added to your Q10.

Blackberry messenger 7

downloaded the latest version bbm 7, now i no longer have the icon on my bb 9900....can no longer get to bbm. My friend has been trying to bbm me, I do not receive messages......in my apps it shows that it is installed, but can no longer access bbm after the download...what the heck is going on???

Same issue with BBM 7, installed and lost lost my BBM Icon.
I uninstalled BBM using Desktop Manager on my computer and then re-installed BBM. This removed BBM 7 and re-installed BBM 6 which also restored my BBM Icon.
Definitely something wrong with BBM 7.
*** Luckily before un-installing I backed up all my data and after re-installing I noticed some of my recent BBM messages were missing which I recovered by restoring my back up.

BBM Groups - conversations in group chats are always missing!

Hi, I'm a relatively new BB user. I belong to 2 BBM groups. All the group members are my contacts. In every single BBM group chat I miss parts of the conversation. It is very random what I miss and how much I miss. I can't follow the chat generally there is that much missing. There isn't a pattern, ie somedays I can see say contact x and y and the next day x and z. The chat never catches up, ie the missing conversation text never comes through hours later. I own a curve 8520 and my BBM group chat screen looks different to all my friends, they have later version BBs. I have version 5.0 software. I did an update for BBM via appworld, removed battery, left the groups, have been re-added and still no luck. I have no problem ever with regular BBM chat one-on-one with any of my contacts, only group conversations. My service provider have been no help despite multiple phone calls. Any ideas?

Send /get name chat command to this particular group chat.
If the returned name starts with #name, then this group chat is the old P2P group.
If the returned name starts with 19: then this group is the new Cloud based group.

Service book are missing for BBM

hey i have a BB 9380, most of the service book to use BBM is missing on this phone, therefore i am unable to use this for BBM.
can i enter these service book manually or connect to a BB site and download it to my phone?

With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Batt Pull Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support...and to ensure that you are subscribed to a data plan from them that is adequate to enable the services you desire. BBM is a BB-proprietary service, requiring subscription to an adequate data plan.

Missing icon for FB, twitter, BBM

Hi there, i have BB curve 8900 running on v5.2.0.11, i updated FB application, twiiter and BBM. After the upgrade the icons all went missing, under applications its they are there but i cant see them, i have tried unhiding but to no avail, please help

First, verify that the apps in question are actually installed:
KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on a BlackBerry smartphone
Next, make sure "Show All" is active ( > Show All) and then dig through all folders (Downloads, Apps, Homescreen, etc.). You might have to re-select Show All in each folder you dig into. If you find them and they are dim, then highlight them and click the  key...then select "unhide".
I realize you said at first "i have tried unhiding but to no avail", but that does not tell me the actual steps you attempted to unhide the icons.

BBM is missing Groups

We are implementing a BBM Group at work for our BB fleet. Got the update over the weekend for Bridge and was happy to see BBM is now on the Playbook.
However, is it just me or are Blackberry Groups missing? Not "Contact Groups" but "Blackberry Groups".

I am from Saudi Arabia, and I am using blackberry since 5 years now.
All the people in Saudi Arabia they had been waiting for BB10 since a long time, also me I have been waiting for it since TORCH-9800, and we had been so happy when blackberry company announced for BB10
BUT.....
The bad things we found in BBM and made a lot of people didn't buy BB10 and I am one of them, that in BBM when we need to send a broadcast to contacts, we have to select each one, we can't select all of them in one checkbox, and this is not good at all,, for me I won't get BB10 because my contacts in BBM over 200, and a lot of people they had the same thing as me.
So,,, to blackberry company please listen to your fans in Saudi Arabia and fix this problems with one small software update. PLEASE we looking for it AND YOUR SUPPORT.
A lot of people will buy BB10 just if blackberry fix this.

Personally I'm glad Broadcast BBM messages has been made more difficult to send... but, to each their own.
