    With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRTKB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless networkPlease wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app2) Resend Service BooksKB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet ServicePlease wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.3) RebootWith power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then please add details..."not working" is a bit difficult to understand. What exactly do you do? What exactly happens? Or, contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

  • Urgent issue about App world not opening for my Q5 even after rebooting over and over again

    Hellpp! My BlackBerry Q5 app world isn't opening. I don't know why. It just shows a blank black screen, loads and then shows ' An error has occurred and BlackBerry World will be closed. Try waiting a few minutes and reopening BlackBerry World'. I've done that a million times..opening and reopening. Even rebooting a million times. This is really urgent. Someone please help! I need to upgrade my whatsapp..cant reply messages till I do and upgrading needs my app world to open! *sigh* Reply asap someone..anyone

    With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT

    Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
    2) Reboot
    Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
    BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
    See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

  • App World Not Opening

    Since the last upgrade to OS2 I have been unable to open App World. Can someone advise me how to reload the OS or how to roll back to the previous release?

    Have you first tried simply restarting your PlayBook? Touch the upper right battery icon > Restart.
    After the restart, try AppWorld again.

  • Mail, Contacts, Calendar and App Store Not Opening in Yosemite

    After 24 hours of buggy overall operation several of the apps stopped working.  Specifically Mail, Contacts, Calendar and App Store do not launch.  I had same problem with Omnifocus but was able to restore it after a fresh download.
    I have tried the standard methods -- (multiple) restarts, Repair permission, fsck -fy, etc.  but now need to appeal to "higher power" for help.
    I am assuming that without App Store, there is no way to re-download and install Yosemite.  So my first question would be -- how to I get Yosemite without App Store?  I need to sort this out for future updates as well, including the inevitable 10.10.01
    Until that is fixed, I'd also like to know if there is a work around for getting Mail, Contacts and Calendars are restored.

    Update - Checked Messages, it too does not load. 
    Strangely -- Safari and Preview are both working fine.

  • Cannot use Mac 10.9.4 at all freezing and apps will not open

    I am not able to open the apps on my Macbook Pro OS X 10.9.4, they just bounce.  Activity Monitor gets so frozen I cannot find out what the hold up is.  Screen freezes in some of the system preferences as well - Users, Parent Controls Accessibility.  I do not have a disk, no disk drive to reinstall.  I am very new to Mac, please help

    Do you have at least 4 GBs of RAM installed and at least 20 GBs of free space on your hard drive.
    Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks
    OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
    OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
    OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
         Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
                     if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • My desktop is not working and apps do not open!

    I been having a problem with my mac, its been 3 time that Ive started it and it goes all along until the main screen (Desktop). What happened is that it doesn't appear, only de background and dock but the archives there and the main upper bar doesn't and Ive tried opening any app and it doesn't works... i have to turn off the mac and re started it again.... DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHATS HAPPENING AND HOW TO FIX IT? Thanks!

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • IPad mini iOS 8.1.1 - iBooks and App Store not opening

    since the last update (iOS8.1.1) my iPad mini is unable to load iBook and the App Store. Basically, when I try opening them, they remain in the white, initial screen, like if they are loading. I tried to turn it off and on again and nothing changes. Thank you!

    I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with the most recent iOS 8 update. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature and scope of the issues you are describing. If you are having issues launching multiple apps or services on your iPad after a recent update to iOS 8.1.1, you may want to first try resetting your device:
    Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    If you are still having issues after the reset, you may want to make sure you have a current backup of your data in iTunes, then try restoring your iPad to factory settings and testing it in that default condition to see if the issues persist before restoring the apps or your data.     The little blackberry sign from the top corner is missing as well. I took it to a shop and they said all the settings were fine, it was a problem with the account, but I don't know what to do now? Anyone help?

    Do you have the blackberry bolt on from Tesco? You need a specific blackberry data in order to use the data functions rather than a carrier data plan. 

  • Unable to set up email, use BBM or App World

    Hi. I recently purchased the Blackberry Curve 3G 9300 v5 under Vodafone Australia but I haven't been able to set up email, use BBM or the App World. I've already installed the Desktop Software and BBM and App World from this website (the person at the shop apparently didn't do a thing). Here are the errors I received -
    1) I don't have the I would like to create new email account option, I only have the I want to use a work email account with Blackberry Enterprise Server option
    2) When I add someone's BBM pin, they don't receive notification for it and it's stated as pending on my side. When they try to add me, I don't receive anything to inform me to add them
    3) When I go to the App World button, I get the message Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the server, Verify your network connection then when I try to download it again at this site - I get the message 
    Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry App World.
    Please help. I've gone to the shop where I bought this from but they were not very helpful. I need to know if they didn't set up my account properly so I can ask them to fix it. Thank you!

  • I have just downloaded a free app and there is no icon and it will not open from the list even tho it appears to have downloaded and the "open" button is available.  Does not show up when I search for it.  Plenty of memory . . .

    I Have an iPad mini running iOS 7.1.2,  I downloaded a new app and it's icon does not appear anywhere ( have ~ 180 apps so not at limit) and it won't open from the purchased apps list.  It does not show up when I search for it so can't open t that way either.  It doesn't require iOS 8.  Can't delete and reinstall, cause not icon.  This is not a normal "app won't open" question.  it doesn't start the. Stop it just doesn't seem to exist.  Any help is appreciated

    Then the next step would be to restore your phone.  My advice is that prior to restoring you import your photos and videos to your computer and back up your contacts (by syncing them with iCloud or to a supported program on your computer using iTunes) as a number of users report losing these when restoring their device.

  • Since updating to iOS 6.0.1, email app will not open and other problems.

    Help! Since updating my phone to iOS 6.0.1, my email app will not open, my email/contacts/calendar settings will not open, my touchscreen is unresponsive, my battery is draining in two hours time, and my delete button only works one letter at a time (can't hold down to delete easily). I've done a soft reset and I've restored twice to no avail. This is a MAJOR problem! I'm not wanting to pay for the apple care since this may result in upgrading to the iPhone 5 (last option) and the closest apple store is an hour and a half from me.

    This seems to be a common problem.
    I am suffering too!
    It would seem to be very shoddy from apple to allow such problems.
    Not the first issue since upgrade to iOS 6.....think home button problems.
    Has anybody got news of a fix?

    The problem has been fixed with the most recent OS X software update.

    If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

    Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
    Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
    Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
