BBM Delays

Hello all
For the last couple of days, my bb messenger has been playing up!
If i send a message to another bbm user it can take some time to deliver (it wont be delivered instantly as before - takes anything from a couple of mins to an hour!)...sometimes i give the phone a helping hand i.e. rebooting or switching it on or off and this may help to get the message delivered to the other person.
It also takes others some time to send messages to me as well. This has been happening for a few days now (since Monday). There have been odd occasions in the past where the message hasnt been delivered instantly but after rebooting the phone it has been delivered to the person I have sent the message too, but since Monday it pretty much happens to every message.
Any ideas on how to fix or if there is a problem on bb's end?
I have the bold 9700 if thats any help and am in the UK.
Thanks
e.

  • Bbm delays send and receive

Does anyone have any suggestions my bbm has suddenly stopped working instantly to now only sending andreceiving a few hours later. I do t receive any bbm pictures sent. This has happened quite suddenly since Monday!  I have credit...
Msettings phone settings have changed..I'm not sure but I would really appreciate some help....especially comparing settings on the phone. The phone is an unlocked phone with a Vodafone sim.  I am running OS 6.2
    Pleeeeease help

If you are willing to take a more drastic approach, a software issue could be causing this and a full software reload can help. This can also help if your phone is starting to feel a little sluggish, etc.
To try this method, use the steps outlined in the following link:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Device-software-for-BlackBerry/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-S...
Because you are using an unlocked device, you will either want to use the OS from the original carrier that the phone came to, or you can delete the file named Vendor.xml, located in the same folder as the Loader.exe file, before you run the Loader file.
Now then, with regards to getting direct support from RIM, your carrier does have the ability to escalate your call directly to RIM at no cost to you. The tricky thing is getting carriers to escalate calls. If you really want to push to speak to RIM, contact your carrier's tech support and push it with them.

  • Bbm is delayed.

Hello i had a blackberry curve 9300 and it started acting up so i bought a new blackberry curve 9300, the exact same phone.  I had my old blackberry backed up on my laptop.  I am with koodo mobile and i went in and bought the new blackberry today, brought it home, put the sim card and memory card from my old curve to my new one then i plugged it into my computer and transferred everything from my old curve to my new one.  everything seemed to be working fine i had to download the new versions of my apps (bbm, facebook and twitter) from app world everything seemed to go fine, i rebooted as i usually would after installing, facebook and twitter are working fine and bbm was too but now my bbm's are really delayed, like 20 minutes between messages, if they send at all.  can someone help me?

Your BB PIN shouldn't be cloneable. and if this person has infact do this, then you should report this matter to the relivent authorities, as he/she is breaking the law. Also you should try contacting this person, to ask him why he's doing this and that you have reported him for identity theaf.. Good Luck

  • I'm receiving Yahoo emails with an unusual delay

During the last few months I've been receiving my emails from Yahoo with a 15-30 minutes delay. Something extremely unusual as they previously seemed to be sent almost instantaneously to my phone. I also have a Gmail account configured in my phone and I receive those emails as they should, almost instantaneously.
The Yahoo domain I use is yahoo.es, my device is a Bold 9780 and my Carrier is Movistar Chile (also known as Telefonica Chile).
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The actual "normal" delay to expect is around 15 minutes. For those email services that have true PUSH and where BIS can work with that, it can be faster. But, an expectation of around 15 minutes is quite normal. Refer:
KB13374 Delayed email message delivery to the BlackBerry smartphone
    However, there also is this:
KB12373 BlackBerry Internet Service real-time delivery of email messages from AOL, Gmail and Yahoo! Mail accounts
Coupled with the fact that it used to be quicker for you, then you should probably do these steps.
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

Updating my iPhone 5 software has shortened the number of rings before the answer phone kicks in, how do I extend the time delay?

If the codes Tanzim mentioned don't work, just call your carrier and ask them to extend your time until voicemail picks up, to 30 seconds. They do this routinely.

  • Delayed AOL Email Push to Blackberry Storm

Anyone else having this problem??  When I first starting using my storm, my aol Email was pushed instantly to my storm, even before it hit my desktop inbox.  For the past week, there has been a delay of sometimes up to 45 minutes.  Spoke to tech support and they still can't figure it out...said it might be AOL.  I wasn't sure if there is a way to either forward aol messages directly to my blackberry address or if that would be a waste of time.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
While I don't use AOL, there are indeed many systems in the path of reconciliation. But, BIS diligently checks the email servers to which it is configured on a regular basis. If there is no new email at that time, it has nothing to forward. The only way you can double-check is to be logged into AOL from a desktop computer at the same time. If you see it in your AOL interface, then AOL is not placing it onto whatever server it is that they use to enable it for POP or IMAP. The real way to test is to also have a desktop email client pulling email from AOL in exactly the same manner as BIS is doing. Now, with all three running simultaneously, you could check where the mail arrives first and where last. So, for instance, if it arrives in your AOL client right away but is delayed to the other 2, then you know it's AOL delaying getting it out to their POP/IMAP service.
Basically, I do agree that it is likely an AOL delay issue rather than anything in BIS...unless many others come back with similar reports and from many POP/IMAP services.
    Hope that helps!

  • BBM Doesn't Display a D for Delivered over any messages sent!

Hi, I just got a BlackBerry 9780, and I had been using the BBM for only a couple days and it seemed fine. All of a sudden the messages I was sending no longer had a D above the tick mark, and I haven't been able to get one to go through, nor has anyone responded to my messages. I was wondering what I can do to fix this, I have tried taking out the battery to fix it and nothing has changed, I would really appreciate any suggestions.

  • BBM Messges sent stuck on D but aren't delivered.

    Hi
I'm having an issue where my BBM messages to one contact are being displayed with a ticked D on my device. However my contact is not receiving any of the messages. The contact can however still message me fine and they all come through without a problem. There is sometimes a slight delay on the messages coming through to me but not very often.
I've tried a hard reset by pulling the battery out of my phone while it is switched on. Infact I have tried this several times and it has not produced any results. Any messages i send to my contact always have a ticked D next to them when they have been sent.
    I have a blackberry Bold 9700.
How do I resolve this issue?

First off, test messaging with that other contact through sending a PIN message (from your main Messages folder > Compose PIN). Ask the other party to read and reply. You should also see the D for delivered.
If this PIN messaging works... the BBM should work. But, also make sure the other party does not have some Firewall block for your PIN or any PIN not listed in their address book (Options > Security > Firewall).

  • BBM GROUP COMMENTS

My comments on my BBM Group in some chat rooms are not posted sequentially. I have ensured date and time are accurate, yet no change. e.g posted comment shows 2016

shows 2016? what is the 2016?
There are times, I have seen, that some comments maybe delayed in BBM Groups due to BBM server delays, your own mobile connection(s) slowdowns, etc. Since BBM Groups sync between devices, it's hard to pinpoint the exact reason.
On your Z10, what is the signal indicator at the top right... 2G, 3G, 4G, etc?

  • BBM Group lists Bug

I have found 1 issue a lot "syncing" We have some group lists which are accessed by all the members. Now the list items updated by 1 member takes ages to update at global level and sometimes they doesn't even sync. Is there a solution to this issue so that all members can actually share the same info.
Also when a member reinstall BBM, groups lists doesn't restore completely.
    Sachin Jain
    http://BBIndia.net

I've seen similar issues, and of late several people have been reporting some delayed syncing and sending of BBM messages.
I don't know what to offer you other than to wait... adding a new member can take a while, even a few hours, for all the group content to sync.

  • How does bbm on IOs work?

I download bbm on my iphone and when I open it, it asks for my Apple ID and password and when I write them, the application  is closed and it takes me back to the home menu. Anything to help with that please?

Hang on, BlackBerry is yet to come out officially with the BBM on iOS. They have hit technical snags & the launch has been delayed, this maybe the reason your app is choking.

  • Email Significantly Delayed

First the stuff you asked for....
    Device info
    Your carrier: AT&T
Model info and OS version 8310, v4.5.0.182
    Apps and free space
File free before and after a battery remove/replace.
    before: 12863042 Bytes
after a battery pull: 12646958 Bytes
Did a battery pull fix your issue? Nope
Apps installed and their version if possible...this is a long list....If we need it, I'll send it....
BT device model/version--I have no clue what this means
    Now for the problem
I've had my curve for almost 2 years now. I've had my personal AOL e-mail set up for this entire time, as well as the gmail account that I use for my small home based business. Both emails have always updated immediately. Normally, I have the e-mail on my phone before it shows up in the inbox on my computer. Lately, (for maybe two weeks or so) I've been having sporatic issues with my AOL account. Sometimes it shows up right away, and other times, it shows up hours after it was sent. During the periods where the e-mail is being delayed I normally get two or three of them at once. Is there a simple way to fix this, so that I'm getting my email as it arrives? I wouldn't even care if it was a coupe minute delay, but hours is rediculous.....
I'm not at all tech saavy, so if you offer suggestions, I'd appreciate if you could "dumb it down" for me...
I have tried pulling the battery, I have tried replacing the SIM card (that's what the techs at the AT&T store did), and I have tried shouting a wide variety of cuss words at my phone, none of which has helped.
    Thanks!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot.
If not, then you could try removing and re-creating the BIS configuration for those email accounts.
    Good luck!

  • 8703e e-mail delays and OS 4.5 woes...

My BB 8703e is getting HUGE delays in e-mail delivery.  I go without e-mail for hours and then there is a burst of e-mail delivered.  Today, I didn't receive my e-mail for 11 hours!  I used to get my e-mail on my BB sometimes even before my G-mail browser displayed the e-mail and it's now very very delayed.  I do have to admit that my BB is quite beat up, several serious drops and such.  Could it be a hardware issue or is this software?
I suggest software as an option because I had "upgraded" my BB to 4.5.0.148.  It was a suggested update when I downloaded the latest desktop software for doing a backup.  (I hadn't done it for a while)  Ever since the upgrade, it has been unbearably sluggish, keys don't respond as quickly as they used to, when I answer the phone in the middle of a vibration "ring" the other side can actually hear the vibration buzz.  Apps run slower.  Startup from a hard boot takes minutes.  Overall, very dissatisfied with the performance under the new OS.  Should I downgrade?  Would downgrading help the e-mail delays, too?  How would I go about doing a downgrade?  The desktop software only provided the latest OS for installation.  I mean 4.5 has some eye candy and I do like the front screen with summary but if that's what's causing my issues, I'd rather have a dependable phone than eye candy.
    Thanks for any help!
