BBM for the torch

Hello everyone, I am having a bit of a problem with my bbm. My friend who lives in Canada gave me her pin but for some reason my request doesn't go through. So she tried to request me as a bbm contact and it went through but for some reason on my end I can't expect it. This same thing happens when she pin messages me, I get the message but I can't not respond back. Can someone please help me with this?

I would have both ofyour delete the other from your BBM contatcts.
Then, do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner:
With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescirbed for most gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Now, ONE of you re-add the other using the PIN method to invite as a contact.

  • Question about the TORCH ??  (I know Verizon doesn't have it yet)

I am really really wanting to get the Torch and have been holding out on using my 2-yr upgrade because I wanted the Torch.  However, I wondered about one feature on the Torch, which might change my decision to hold-out for that model to come to Verizon.
The Torch seems to be a blend of the Storm and the Bold, but I wondered about the touch-screen feature on the Torch.  Do you have to press the screen to "click" the screen just like you have to do on the Storms?  If that is the case, then I DON'T want the phone and will stop holding-out for it.
I liked the idea of the Torch to gradually transition me to a touch-screen feature phone, but without giving up my beloved physical keyboard AND the Blackberry system, to which I've been pretty loyal.  I'm not ready to give up the Blackberry and move to Droids and other similar phones, which is why I was so excited about the Torch.
BUT....... if the Torch's touch-screen feature works exactly like the Storm (press and click the screen itself), then I DON'T want it.  And will maybe check out the Droid 2 because of the slider keyboard.
Thanks in advance for any in-put.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The technical term for what you refer to is "SurePress". Sadly, it's been abandoned and only existed on the Storm series BBs. The Torch series are all touch sensitive with no physical movement or feedback. I was on a Storm, and then a Storm2, and now a 9860...I actually am quite surprised how quickly I shifted from "needing" that tactile feedback.
    Cheers!

  • Myspace not available for Blackberry Torch 9810

I recently upgraded from the Torch 9800 to the 9810 and the myspace app will not install.  I checked all the minimum requirements and I'm good, but I still get an error that says the app is not available for my phone.  Anyone else have this problem?
    Thanks!

I checked the compatible blackberry list at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/686/ and the 9810 isn't listed.  It stops at 9800.

  • Password reset for Blackberry Torch

How do I get back into my Blackberry Torch if I don't remember the password. I purchased a new phone and had this Torch in a drawer. My adult son lost his smartphone so I was going to let him use the BB. When he put a new SIM card in it the BB wants a password and i have no idea what it is, in fact I thought i had wiped the BB clean as I was thinking about selling it. Help I don't care if any of my info is on it. I just want it unlocked so he can use it.

    Hi Shopppr.
hello to your solution you can write the word Blackberry asks you for the password but can remember introudce password incorrectly several times then try more than 10 times when you type the word displayed writes Blackberry.
This will make your blackberry then make you do a reset factory to let the Blackberry completely like it came back without password to reset and let it do all the process you can put the SIM from your carrier.
Now you can enjoy your Blackberry once again.

  • 2 Weeks With My Z10 And Wishes For The Next BlackBerry

    Verizon BB Z10
    Hardware :
I have in my possession BB Z10 from Verizon and Q10 from international carrier also Z10 from AT&T. I try to compare my own personal Z10 with the others including my Verizon Galaxy note 2, Droid Razr MAXX , iPhone 5 and Lumia 920.
My Z10 is very comfy on my hand. 1 hand usage.. I still prefer 1 hand usage for phone.. and for iOS user who switch back to BB Z10, It feels just perfectly placed on my palm
    Usage:
My personal usage of cellphone is heavy duty emails/texts/web browse with basics entertainment such as netflix and youtube and including but not limited to using notepad and some C++ editor/compiler on my android. In this test I limited it to personal usage only and work related(texts, emails, games)
    Early Usage :
The initial usage of my Z10 was very weird. it took me 12hrs of charging from 20% to full battery. Next cycle took me 8hrs and after that it took me about 4hrs 53mnt - 5hrs 15mnts give or take. The charging time awfully took a long time. I tried to resolve it with the Verizon customer service but they also did not have any idea as of why and what cause the phone to took some awful long time to charge the battery. Oh well I could live with it.
    2 Weeks After :
    - 3days into usage I got into random reboot problems that confirmed by BB support team is due to my OS 10.0.9.422. The support said it was a known issue with that OS and fixed with update of OS 10.1 which they said it was up to Verizon to push it out(no news whatsoever about the update from the Big Red Dracula Team).
-Prompted to install previous OS when connected to Link Desktop Software but prompted to install newer OS when check through OTA update
-Battery charging issue still plagued my phone until this time
-Sudden Reboot when opening heavy loaded website or bombarded by emails, texts and whatsapp all together
    - Facebook is another Horror Movie come true... messages not sent, messages late came through or the notifications won't gone even when we already checked it. If that happen I must open my Facebook app to check it again. So what's the point that it linger around in the hub??
    - Incompetent answer by the carrier customer rep as how to resolve my issues and problems.
-docs open swift and no problem
-Save screenshot or image from the item cannot be save directly to memory card.. Instead I must work around the system to save it to my phone and moved it to my memory card. What is the point..
    Conclusion :
For a person who came from iOS and android I actually quite surprised and pleased. After given consideration for a while I realized that AT&T support for the BB platform was actually better than Verizon( I owned BB 9900 and 9930 previously also). It was too bad that my Carrier(Verizon) did not support BB10 all through the way. BB10 is a very solid platform who still keep the main purpose of work functionality in their platform. iOS, Lumia and Android  evolved to mainstream system, that I felt personally, put forward in media and games too much in their system.
BB10 is simple and easy to use but also have the media/entertainment aspect as a side compliment to it and not the way around. Too bad that carrier like Verizon is very very SLOW to push update and support for this platform.
    WISHES :
I sometimes still like to use my Droid Razr MAXX. I could dock it at my home/office or bring the lapdock with me to make it a full laptop during my meeting. I do not need a tablet since my phone replace everything in one device. Tablet as convenient as they are.. will never replace my All-In-One Droid Razr Maxx. I wish BlackBerry will come out with this solution(e.g www.casetop.ca). A market that no one seems to grab as solution to work enviroment. Phone, Laptop and All Round Personal Computer at home also..
wish good luck for BlackBerry team.. Good job.. Good job indeed..

Oh I've seen the ACK message also. Sometimes your power source may intermittently not deliver the power needed and that message is generated. Usually if I see that I unplug and re plug and all is well.

  • I just upgraded my iPhone 3GS to 4.3.5 and my universal doc stopped working with it?  It has worked flawlessly for the last year and suddenly I get the message: "this iphone is not optimized for this device."  The music comes out too quiet to the speakers

I just upgraded my iPhone 3GS to 4.3.5 and my universal doc stopped working with it?  It has worked flawlessly for the last year and suddenly I get the message: "this iphone is not optimized for this device."  I dismiss the message, but the remote no longer works with it and the music is too quite to the speakers.  The remote works fine with my Macbook Pro.  I tried a restore on the iPhone and started from scrach, but the same problem exists.
    Any help with this?
    Thanks,
    JT

  • 10.2.1 Official Update for the BlackBerry z30

Hello, First off...I have a BlackBerry z30 which I had to purchase unlocked to run on the T-Mobile netwrk because I really wanted the z30 and T-Mobile is not carrying the z30 online or in retail stoes. Now I am running the 10.2.1.1055 leak and it runs decent but I know at some time T-Mobile will release the OTA official release of 10.2.1 for the z10, but since they do not carry or support the z30, what would be my options for installing the official 10.2.1 version on my phone. I do want to at some point run the official stable version of 10,2.1 on my phone. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

And neither has Verizon pushed the Z30 upgrade to 10.2.1.1925... no one here knows when Verizon will do so.
They have not stated when they might.
There are other methods for upgrading to 10.2.1 if you wish to do so manually.

  • Can I have a blackberry and not pay for the internet service package?

Hi I am new to this and my t-mobile phone that I have broke and I am looking to upgrade to something that will help me stay a little more organized but do not want to pay for the service package that comes along with buying a blackberry from t-mobile. I know that I could get one from craigslist or ebay or something and was wondering if I could just put in my Sim card and it would have all the basic functions without the internet and emails. All i really want from the phone is the easy navigation, good organizer, easy texting and calling. Thanks for the help! - Sully

Sully, Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.
Sorry, no. Without the BlackBerry Data Plan, you will get very few of the data functions of the device... voice and SMS, yes. Calendar, contacts, etc., yes. No RIM push email.
You can use the Opera Mini browser for the internet with the TCP setttings enabled, for a browser for free... just watch your billing and make certain you are not charged.

  • New Desktop Manager for the Mac is Wonderful

I had played with the leaked version and liked what I saw. I just think this DTM is excellent. The bugs that were in the leaked version aren't there. Its fast, its nice, I can do backups and upgrade the software from the Mac and load apps. This is great.
I've noticed people having problems getting their software to work. I ran into this error but it was easily fixed. I had been running the leaked version of the software. I decided to uninstall Missing Sync for the Blackberry and then I uninstalled my new install of RIM's DTM. I restarted, re-installed and it works like a charm.
    A happy Mac/Blackberry camper

  • Need of a "convenience key"-like feature for the audio jack

This should be a very simple OS patch for the RIM programmers. When the 3.5mm audio output is connected, it would be extremely handy to have something like a "convenience key" feature. To be more precise:
-in Option, Screen/Keyboard, please make a section like "when in audio output, opens:" so one can choose an app, like an MP3 player or anything else
    - and another option "when in audio output, connects:" so one can ENABLE bluetooth  (and not Set Up bluetooth which is useless) automatically. The bberry will automatically pair with a preset device, like the bluetooth system of a car.
I hope this will be available in future OS or in a quick patch, and I'm sure many other will appreciate such features.

    Sure.
I don't think anyone (at least I didn't) state it was inappropriate.
But at least you do see it is useless. And, I didn't say that either.

  • How does a BlackBerry handheld connect to BES for the first time?

How does a Blackberry device connect to BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) for the first time? Is there a risk that a rogue BlackBerry handheld connects to BES?
    Thank you in advance!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
When a BES admin sets up a BB on BES, they configure the unique BB PIN into their BES and also create credentials that are required to actually complete the registration process on the BB. So, while there is no perfect security anywhere, I don't think the risk you are concerned about is high enough to warrant any attention.
    Good luck!
