BBM Groups - conversations in group chats are always missing!

Hi, I'm a relatively new BB user. I belong to 2 BBM groups. All the group members are my contacts. In every single BBM group chat I miss parts of the conversation. It is very random what I miss and how much I miss. I can't follow the chat generally there is that much missing. There isn't a pattern, ie somedays I can see say contact x and y and the next day x and z. The chat never catches up, ie the missing conversation text never comes through hours later. I own a curve 8520 and my BBM group chat screen looks different to all my friends, they have later version BBs. I have version 5.0 software. I did an update for BBM via appworld, removed battery, left the groups, have been re-added and still no luck. I have no problem ever with regular BBM chat one-on-one with any of my contacts, only group conversations. My service provider have been no help despite multiple phone calls. Any ideas?

Send /get name chat command to this particular group chat.
If the returned name starts with #name, then this group chat is the old P2P group.
If the returned name starts with 19: then this group is the new Cloud based group.

When viewing photos that friends send me on PICASA, a number of pictures are always missing.

There are missing pictures on my Laptop using Windows 7 also on my Desktop using Windows XP.

It is possible that you clicked "Block Images" in the right-click context menu while saving an image.

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
* Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.

* Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
* Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
* Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
* If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

P2P group conversation gets created, not cloud-bas...

using Skype 4.3.0.37 on Linux
newly created group conversations are P2P, not cloud-based. I kick all the participants, quit myself, recreate group conversation - and it is P2P again
how I create new group conversation:
I open chat with one of my contacts(1), then use "Add people" feature to add one more contact(2) - group conversation gets created, where there are three people - I, contact1 and contact2

(To check if your group is P2P or Cloud based, type /get name into the chat window and press Enter.
If the group name response starts with 19:... you're in a cloud-based chat; if the group name response starts with #skypename... you're in a P2P-based chat.)
There are 2 ways to move your group chat to the Cloud.
The Fork Way
Type /fork in your old group chat. That will instantly create a new group chat with all the participants of the old chat.
The URI Way
1) Create a new group chat with a few of the people from your old chat. 2-3 will suffice.
2) In this new chat, type /set options +JOINING_ENABLED
3) Then type /get uri. You will see a link appear in your chat - that is the URI of your new group chat.
4) Paste the URI in your old chat, and tell users to jump across by clicking on it.
Note that these options work best if every person is using the latest version of Skype.

Group Chats are Straight Up Broken

Alright so recently I've been seeing a flood of topics with the same generic problem about legacy group chats, me being me and not wanting to go to such extremes with deleting my account entirely or recreating group conversations, I'll feed to mob to help Skype stay on their tiptoes to fix this. As for my "Unique" problem, I use Skype on both my Macbook Air and my iPhone 5c, I will get notifications for group chats on my phone and everything else normally however when I open the group chat, it only shows up to the message I received before everything broke. I can't send messages as well, though I can still talk alright to singular people. I've tried making an empty group conversation with just myself but messages won't even send in there. I've re-downloaded and taken out my Skype folder momentarily (re-downloaded on my phone too). This problem also bundles up with another one i've had before, my Skype contacts that are on their phones show as offline rather than away and half of my online contacts show as offline making it extremely hard to know who's online when I need to reach them. Now i'm not a fan of having my Skype virtually unusable due to the 5-10 group conversations I use daily, so I'd appreciate this to be fixed soon (Also this problem suddenly jumped up earlier today, nothing was changed so Skype support, don't reply with your annoying as heck automatic responses that tell me to do things that never work, i'd like this to either be fixed or get a reply from an actual representative, thank you)
EDIT: Did a bit of testing, I can still recieve group calls however I cannot start any, and I cannot send messages while in a group call. I have also left one group in an attempt to fix it although my friend on the inside said I didn't leave the group at all, even though I'm not allowed to message in it (although it wouldn't go through regardless). I can still function normal 1 on 1 chats normally but the messages seem to only send when they're online? This may be a result of me removing and readding my skype folder from the library directory

Same photos are always included in group of new photos to import from my iPhone to Photos.

Every time I plug my iPhone into my MacBook a group of photos are always included in the group of new photos in the group of new photos Photos selects to import.
How can I convince Photos it has already imported these photos many times before?

What photos are you expecting to stream that are not streaming?
Only the photos in Photo Stream stream to other devices over iCloud. Preexisting photos and albums that are synced to the iPhone do not stream over iCloud to other devices.

When I use Tab Groups, can I have some tabs that are always open together with a group, and just switching the groups that are besides the "always showing" tabs?

I like to have some tabs always open, like for example the facebook page, while others I need only occasionally, like Ebay / Work / Fun (which I could put into Tab Groups). So I was wondering if it is possible to have the following configuration:
Always open Tabs (e.g. Facebook, Myspace) and then next to that ONE of the Tab Groups (e.g. Group Ebay Stuff and Group Work Stuff and Group Fun Stuff)
or alternatively have TWO Tab Groups open at the same time, like Group A and Group B, and then switch to Group A and Group C, then Group A and Group D, then Group A and Gourp B again.

Hmm, well you can right click a tab you want always open and click "Pin as App Tab". I personally don't have much experience with Tab Groups, I'm just learning how to use them.

IMessage iOS 8 "Leave group Conversation" not working

I've been trying to use the "Leave group Conversation" feature of the "Details" page of iMessage in iOS 8, and I cannot get it to work. I've reset my network settings, logged in and out of iCloud, and restarted the phone. No luck.
Is anyone else having the same problem?

I read that everyone in the group messaging has to have iMessaging and their phone has to be updated to iSO 8. Oh it has to be 4 or more people in the group. Which really does not work for me because everyone in my contacts does not have an iPhone!
There are a few things to note with this feature however, leaving a conversation in Messages only works when all of those in the message thread are using iMessage – if it’s a group SMS, say there’s an Android user in the thread as well, you’re out of luck and can’t leave the chat. Keep that in mind if the texts keep popping up.

Messages in group conversations not delivered

When I send messages to individual people, they receive them fine, but when I try and send messages to a group they never work, I tried qutting/restarting sign in/sign out turning the internet on and off, restarting the computer, nothing works! It's really annoying and has ben happening for a week now, how do I fix it??

Cannot send and receive messages to group conversations

This has been happening since last wedsnday. I type a message to a group chat, hit enter, and the wheel never stops spinning. Messages from group conversations won't be delivered to me either, and I know that messages are being sent because I see them on my iPod touch. No one else in the group chats has this problem. Internet is just fine. I have uninstalled and installed skype two times. No suggestions from the Skype community have worked. Any help? (I send messages via skype)

[Skype 7.0 Group Conversation] Picture

Hi,
Even though I change the group conversation picture, its not set on the client I'm using. I can see the new picture on a linux client, but not on a Windows 8.1, Skype 7.0.0.100 version client.

With the latest Skype version, it's currently possible to edit profile pictures only for the new Cloud-based group chats. Profile pictures of the old P2P based group chats are still not visible.

Group conversation pictures not displaying on new ...

I don't know if there's an option I'm not seeing but since I updated to the new skype preview, I cannot see group conversation pictures for any of the skype groups I'm in.
Clicking on the conversation topic loads up the profile for the group, and I can change the picture in there, but it will not display for me (even in the profile window I get the default 'no picture' picture).

Can we please have the conversation picture visible to all participats of group conversations back?
And while you're at it, can we have (fubar) and (finger) and (hollest) back too?
One more thing - can we please have back the ability to adjust the size of the typing box? There is only one little line there now and one would like to be able to see at least 4 or 5 lines of the message you are typing.
When you update, the update should improve, not remove.

Photo share in group conversations doesn't work.

I can view uploaded images just fine, and share my own to single contacts. However, when I try to upload using the + in a group conversation, all I see under chat options is Add Participants.

This is still an issue with the current Android skype. It's just the android version that is missing photo share.

Automatically removed from group conversation for being idle?

Where I work, we have a group/team conversation for people to ask questions, make comments, share information, etc.
In the past few weeks I have noticed that I have been being removed from this group conversation. Find the message "You have been removed from this conversation."
I usually start this conversation but leave permission open for everyone so anyone can add people as they come in for later shifts. I know it's possible to right click on a person's name and remove them from the conversion.
When this started happening, I researched how to stop it from happening and found that if I changed the permissions to me alone, I am not removed from the conversation.
My questions are: does Lync automatically remove a person from a conversation if they are idle for a certain amount of time? If so, what is the time frame? Does just that person have to be idle or the entire conversation?
Essentially, I'm trying to find out if some person is actively removing me or if it's some automatic setting within Lync.

Yes there is a timeout, it's per person but mostly the entire conversation though due to "sending or receiving and instant message. You can't easily turn it off, but you can change the value a bit. See set-csclientpolicy setting

Why does Mail require "Re:" subject prefix to group conversations properly?

When the Apple Mail program (using Mavericks 10.9.1) is configured to "View:Organize by Conversation", it is necessary for the email subject line to be prefixed with "Re:" in order for the email from different senders to be grouped into the same conversation, even if the emails contain proper "In-Reply-To" header fields. Why does the program require this subject line prefix, versus just using the In-Reply-To field values to group conversations? Many automated systems that generate emails (e.g., web-based helpdesk systems) will send email with the proper In-Reply-To field values to associate emails for the same topic/case, but they do not use the "Re:" subject line prefix. This seems to be a defect with the design of the Mail program to require this prefix for the conversation grouping to work properly.
Does anyone know if there is legitimate rationale for this behavior? Does anyone know if there is a work-around for this problem (short of changing these other systems to prefix the subject line)?
