BBM is missing Groups

We are implementing a BBM Group at work for our BB fleet. Got the update over the weekend for Bridge and was happy to see BBM is now on the Playbook.
However, is it just me or are Blackberry Groups missing? Not "Contact Groups" but "Blackberry Groups".

You aren't missing it, its not there. This may be introduced at a later date but is not present at this point in time.

Missing 'group' button

I'm using a trial version of '09. Everything ran smoothly until I noticed that the 'group' button was no longer available - it's simply not there. The last action was 'Edit - Special Characters...' but I don't know for sure if this is relevant. Quit - relaunch - same problem. Tried to open that file in '08 - "file corrupt". Carried on working on the file in '09 and I'm limping along.
However - just noticed that '08 is now missing 'group' button too! Time to try a reboot (pretty rare event).

OK ... so I've just found out how to add the group button back to the toolbar - but the fact remains that I'm sure I didn't remove it in the first place. Answered, but possible bug?

BBM icon missing after update. need help asap please

Hi I'm using a bb bold 9780 and my bbm is 5.0.1.45 and when I tried updating it, it hangs whenever it finishes installing. And when I tired a battery pull, my bbm icon goes missing. Any idea how to solve this issue? Could really need some help here cos its quite impt. Thank you in advance

When you get a chance, do a battery pull. When the red light goes away on the front of the phone, hold down the back button the entire time while the phone is booting up. When the boot is complete, the phone will enter safe mode.

Try to delete it from there and do another battery pull / reinstall.

Missing group members in ADSI & LDAP

Hi there. I have an AD problem here (obviously :))
It started by wanting to list all members of a group (recursivly, but that does not matter for now, the problem occurs on a single group).
I tried this in Powershell, but our AD is still on 2003, so no AD web services, so no powershell.
In PHP & Java I got the same results: It only shows 3 members, where there should be 23.
In Active Directory Computers & Users, these 23 (including a group) are listed on the member tab.
In ADSI I see only the 3 entries mentioned above in the attribute "member", and the other users don't have the membersOf attribute backlink.
dsget group -members (-expand) works properly.
Where do Active Directory Computers & Users and dsget get their information regarding group members from, and how can I access that programmatically via LDAP access from php or Java?

Sorry, forgot about the Domain Users or the Domain Admins group over the link/image upload issue.
No, it wasn't these groups.
But: you were on the right path. The term primary group is what I was missing.
The group is for one of our roadwarrior subsidiaries, and they are not Domain users as primary group, but the one shown here.
Do you happen to know which LDAP attributes represent the primary group association?
The primaryGroupID attriute store the RID of the group that is assigned as the primary group. This was to work around the limitation in Windows 2000 before LVR (Linked-Value Replication) so that more than 5000 users could be member of the same group. (It also

Report Designer missing 'group level' area - GUI problem?

Hi all -
I have a few questions here that I think are related, so I'm posting in one thread.
1) As far as what I've been reading on, we can upgrade to BI 7.0 even with a front-end SapGUI 640 (patch 19). True or False?
2) One can <u>only</u> use Report Designer with SapGUI 710. True or False?
And here's a long one...
3) When you open Report Designer should we see "Group Level" on the right-hand side (if it's checked to show)? Mine (having sapgui 710 at patch 1) was showing just the ruler, but not the "Group Level" areas... is this a gui issue? What's the fix?
[my history of GUI install:
Before upgrade: Sap GUI 640 patch 8
After upgrade: Installed NW4s BEx components only
(then getting dumps in the r3 back-end) so installed SAP GUI 710 from 50083078_4 cd.
Report Designer missing the group level areas... I thought, might as well install patch 01. But that did not help.]

I had a couple issues to 710 with the report designer. i didnt had anything similar to ur issue, but all my default and specifics of format catalog were blacked out and not allowing me to change that. I downgraded to 640 and everything works fine now. (I tried installing all possible latest and greatest on the GUI but nothing worked and it costed me a whole day to acknowledge the fact)

BBM 5.0 Group Admin abilities lost after OS update

Hi everyone,
Just like what I've stated in the subject, I'm longer the group Admin in my BBM Group after updating my OS. I've gone through the "recovery" process to recover my BBM group, but after it was recovered, I realized that I'm no longer the Group Administrator.
I've tried restoring my previous settings via Desktop Manager but that still didn't work either. What can I do to fix this? Thank you.

I have to say that I'm not a fan of the new BBM. I don't use the group feature so any benefits that others may see are lost on me. In fact, nothing that Shag points to outweighs the absolutely horrid way that pics are sent. Nothing against you Shag : ) . My wife sends me pictures all day of the kids. Use to be they would just appear and I could look at them when I got around to it. Now I have to accept and save each one at a time and the download is SLOW. What a PAIN!!
Not to mention that if I'm listening to Pandora when I go to view the picture, Pandora shuts off. AND, on top of that, if I'm listening to Pandora on my head phones and she sends me a message, the regulur speaker turns on as the message is being transmitted which annoys me and the other folks in my area.
Overall, this strikes me as the classic "It looks nicer so it MUST be better" kind of upgrade. I'll be downgrading as soon as I can.

Randomly missing group text messages

I am in a group text message and will randomly miss a message or receive them in the wrong order. My husband and I are the only ones in the group that this happens to. The others are on ATT. Is this the reason? The missing texts are from both Iphone and other users.

Group messaging has really become a fun way to interact with a group of friends at once. In order to participate in group messaging, the devices participating would need to be compatible and have group messaging enabled. This feature may not be available with every device, which may cause problems with receiving messages. One step you can take to ensure your device is set up for group messaging would be going to Settings>Messages and from this screen enable MMS Messaging and Group Messaging.

Keep getting missed calls/missed group calls

Something really strange has been happening for the past week or so. I keep getting missed calls/group calls from "Bastian" and "Anonymous", none of these people are on my contact list and my iphone never rings when they try and call me. I just get a notification to say "missed call". The strange thing is when I swipe the notification to check my skype history none of these calls exist. There is never a missed call on skype for desktop either. On my desktop I have my privacy set to "only allow contacts to call me". Please explain what is going on with these ghost calls and how I can prevent this?

Flex 3.2.0.3958: Missing Group Collection???

I just downloaded the Flex 3.2.0.3958 SDK from
opensource.adobe.com to try to fix a problem where an xml document
would not allow a groupingcollection.refresh() method to complete.
However, after installing the new SDK, there is nothing
related to GroupingCollection in mx.collections. The Flex 3.2 docs
list this class. Does anyone know why its not in the sdk I just
downloaded? BTW I also downloaded Flex 3.2.0.3794 and there are no
grouping classes in that one either.

BBM icon missing

Help! I tried upgrading to bbm 6.2 using app world. However after upgrade, the phone rebooted and I cleared event log using ALT+LGLG. I could not find the bbm icon. I can see its installed via Options>Applications, but I can't find the icon. I have checked all folders and made sure that its not hidden. To no avail. Pls any solutions that would not make me loose my bbm contacts!

You should see a ribbon bar with various icons of the active applications,.. the phone, browser, and BBM as well.
Do you see it there?

New files and folders missing Group "Access is Denied"

We have recently changed all of our XP machines over to Windows 7 and have now noticed that when a user creates new files or folders on the network it's not adding access for all users. The only way around this is to open the file/folder on the users
machine it was created on and edit the "Group or user name" under the Security tab. Even as an administrator I'm unable to open any of these files/folders.
Our server is SBS 2011.

please post the SHARE permissions from the folder that is used also. Therefore open the folder properties, SHARING tab and open the Advanced permissions.

BBM Icon missing from my phone desktop

Can somebody help me out. I cant find my BBM icon on my phone, I have made attempts to reinstal it but I will always get the response "application installed" I tried to uninstall but could not, as a result I have not been able to access BBM. Pls can somebody tell me what to do to get back my BBM.

BBM contacts missing???

Please help... Some of my blackberry messenger contacts are missing and I was wondering, is there a way I can restore them?

If you have blackberry protect they may be retrievable through that, but if not you're just going to have to manually enter them all in again

In App world, all the Apps that is or was installed in ur BB is shown...
There can be 2 reasons that ur BBM has dissapeared...
1. By mistake u might have hide it...press the BB button n select "show all", n then try finding it manually...if u are able to find it, then select it n then press the BB button n uncheck "hide"...
2. U might have deleted it by mistake...reinstall it...

[SOLVED] /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow -- pwck shows missing groups

I recently found out about the pwck and grpck commands to check for errors/inconsistencies in the passwd, group, shadow and gshadow files... grpck returns no errors, but pwck returns this:
user 'avahi': no group 84
user 'postgres': no group 88
user 'ntp': no group 87
pwck: no changes
These are the relevant lines from /etc/passwd:
avahi:x:84:84:Avahi daemon:/:/bin/false
postgres:x:88:88:PostgreSQL user:/var/lib/postgres:/bin/bash
ntp:x:87:87:Network Time Protocol:/var/lib/ntp:/bin/false
There are lines for those users in /etc/shadow... but... I'm not sure what I need to do to fix the problem.
I think I understand enough, now, to maintain the files in future, but would anyone know I can fix this?

Ha! Well... when I started using Arch I really didn't know much about Linux and I an update providing some .pacnew files (/etc/group, gshadow, passwd, shadow) and... well... I don't know what I did, but I think it was probably not what I should have done(!). I used grpck in the past and got no errors and it suddenly occurred to me today that there should be an equivalent for checking /etc/passwd... so that's why I just ran the commands now. Everything seems to be working, however...
I don't have an entry for groups 84, 87 and 88 in my /etc/group file... Hmmm...
I tried running this command to find any files associated with that group, but only get the following:
[root@i7pc tim]# find / -gid 88
find: `/run/user/1000/gvfs': Permission denied
find: `/proc/1806/task/1806/fd/5': No such file or directory
find: `/proc/1806/task/1806/fdinfo/5': No such file or directory
find: `/proc/1806/fd/5': No such file or directory

I get similar output for the other groups, so... can I just delete them from /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow?
I notice I have the avahi package installed, however, and group 84 relates to user 'avahi'... so... surely I need the avahi user...?
