hi everyone
im a newbie when it comes to blackberry, but my problem is when i bridge my playbook with my curve, the bbm messenger icon does not appear on the playbook,any ideas on how i can fix it?

I've setup the Blackberry Bridge between the Playbook, and a BB Torch, all the bridge icons are showing except the BBM icon. Is BBM available yet through the bridge connection?

Loaded Docs, Pictures & Videos not showing up on Playbook

I used the desktop application to load pdf docs, picutures & videos. The Playbook shows the files are loaded due to storage space usage but the files are not showing up as accessible. Basically, they are somewhere in the memory but when I do a search - nothing shows up. Very frustrated ----- HELP!

Camera Raw Defaults & Presets not showing menus (BRIDGE)

I just upgraded to a new version of PS CS3 & Bridge and the option to apply Presets, or to Apply Camera Raw Defaults is not showing when I right click a file in Bridge. It also doesnt show up in the menu. I need to be able to Batch process hundreds of photos at a time and then convert them to Tif formats. I used to be able to do this by applying my Adobe Camera Defaults to many images at once. How do I do this now????
I am running Bridge 2.0.0975 and PS 10. Help!! This is critical for me!!!

Agreed. I have gigabytes of disk space packed full of iso's, dmgs, and zips for
(almost) all of the software I've installed on my computers. It's a pain to
manage sometimes, but I know I can go back and reinstall PS7 (for instance) if I
need to even though I have no clue where the CD is at. It's just one part of my
configuration management and backup strategy. I don't have a sysadmin to take
care of this kind of thing for me any more, unfortunately, so I have to do it
myself.
This plan also has the advantage that I don't have to be online to download
older versions from a vendors site (if it's even available) or go searching for
a seeded torrent (if it's not).
I'm not saying this approach is good for every one or even good for anyone but
me, but it is a perfectly valid way of doing things.

.tif thumbs and keywords not showing in Bridge.

After creating a new catalog in Lightroom 4, the .tif thumbs and keywords won't show in Bridge? .tif files created via the default catalog still show; and from what I can tell, the catalog setting are identical.

The catalog settings pf Bridge and Lr are not identical.
Bridge doesn't work with a catalog.
Lr works with a catalog; that means it works with a database where everything you do in Lr is stored - automatically (without the need for <save>) and instantly.
Bridge just reads files from disk and doesn't have a catalog (database), and - particularly - it cannot read the Lr catalog.
So, in order to make metadata, such as keywords, captions, title, and also your edits created in Lr visible in Bridge you need a "information shuttle" between Lr and Bridge.
This feature is already built into Lr: When you <save metadata to file> (see below on how to do this), Lr writes the data that are saved in the catalog also to the image file (not in the image pixels!!).
In case of a Raw file, a xmp side-car file is created, in case of TIFFs, PSDs, JPGs the data is written into the file header.
If this is done, Bridge will read the data from file and will display your images accordingly.
To <save metadata to file> select one or several images in the Grid View and go >Metadata >Save metadata to file. Alternatively press Cmd / Ctrl + letter S on your keyboard.
Or, you can select <Automatically write changes to XMP> in >Edit >Catalog Settings > Metadata tab.
Color labels will be transferred correctly only if the textual descriptions for the labels are identical in Lr and in Bridge.

Lightroom Keywords not showing in Bridge

Hi all!
Our companyy photographer uses Lightroom to archive and keyword all of his pictures, which is fine!
The graphic designer, who uses the pictures (that's me!) has to search the picture archives using Bridge (again, fine).
However, the keywords that the photographer painstakingly puts in when he imports images into Lightroom do not show up when I search using Bridge!
We have tried selecting images in Lightroom and hitting Command-S to save the keywords to the file itself. But this doesn't seem to work!
Anyone got any suggestions / help?
For reference, we are both using up-to-date desktops and software (as of March 2010).

Metadata changes not showing in Bridge

I have added some metadata to some files in Lightroom (both keywords and some IPTC info like city, country, etc).
But when I look at the files in Bridge CS2, I don't see the changes.
Do I need to commit the cahnges somehow?

This problem seems to work in other way also:
If I edit RAW picture in lightroom, give it rating, flag and color label, they doesn't show in bridge. However, if I put keywords in Bridge _after_ editing image in lightroom, keywords never show up in LR.

BBM Will Not Load On The Playbook Please help!!

Let me just state that I am not technically handicapped i literally tried everything troubleshooting in the book. I wiped my playbook, i downgraded my torch, i downgraded my bbm, i restarted, re-paired over and over and over again still no luck. When my friend came with his bold and paired it to my playbook it worked perfectly. for some reason my **bleep** torch is not letting the playbook load the bbm or vice versa, im at the end of my rope i have no idea what to do now. i tried everything

Some folder contents not showing in Bridge CS3

Some folders will not display in any way in Bridge. It does not seem to matter whether they are Jpeg or RAW files. Other folders on the same internal drive show fine. Tried several options with no luck.

I should have researched a bit more. Did the holding Ctrl while opening Bridge and purged everything. Took care of it.

Metadata not showing in Bridge

Until last week I was happily using Bridge with my picture captions and credits showing in the metadata window.
Now all of a sudden they've gone. The metadata panel only shows the content of the Title field.
The metadata is still there when I open 'file info' in PS but Bridge has decided it doesn't want to show it any more.
I've rebooted, quit and re-launched etc to no avail.
Any ideas?

Doing so without pressing the option key while restarting Bridge and choosing reset preferences is unlikely to solve problems, try again with this method and choose reset preferences.
See if they came back and then set preferences again to your wishes. There is a dedicated metadata preference tab where you can divine which fields should be shown or not in the metadata panel (mind you, this only affects the visibility of the fields, they are still there in the file info)

Downloaded playbook apps not showing up on playbook?

I'm posting this on behalf of my dad, who like me has a playbook, but i live miles away so i've not been able to set it up for him, so this is a slightly garbeled message from him:
When he got the playbook he did all the inital signing up (he doesnt have a blackberry phone, just the playbook) and as far as he is aware he signed up for a blackberry account. He is able to go onto the app world and download apps, which go into the 'My World' section and have a delete opeion etc. So to me it sounds like he is logged in and can download.
However, they arent showing up on the playbook? With mine I download them and then they appear with all the icons on the bottom screen, but his are nowhere to be found?
Has anyone come across this or got any suggestions?

I feel real intelligent right about now!
The icons were there all along on the first page of the Home Screen where all the App Icons are kept.
All I had to do (on that first page) was to scroll down to the bottom of the Page to see the newly installed Apps.
This solved my problem, which turned out to be a Layer 8 issue as suspected.

Blackberry messenger not compatible with bridge

Upgraded to the version 2.0. I was a struggle on this one playbook compared to my spouses. Finally it worked. However it is now complaining that the latest version of BBM isn't compatible with the bridge. This is new considering it did work after the upgrade. I go to AppsWorld and there is no option to attempt to upgrade BBM

Raw and TIFF Thumbnails Not Showing in Bridge CS4

Hi,
I just bought Photoshop CS4 and installed. I got an installation error and had to remove and reinstall CS4 (and ran the Mac Cleanup Utility in between). Then, CS4 installed successfully.
Now, when I fire up Bridge CS4, I can preview JPG files, but not TIFF or RAW (*.NEF format from my D200) files.
Has this happened to anyone else and is there a fix I can apply? I have installed known updates for CS4 and have purged the cache.
I have tried searching adobe and the online communities for this issue, but haven't been able to locate it. The problem also applies to *.PSD documents. I have also tried Tools>Cache>Purge Cach for Folder xxx and this doesn't fix things.

OK, I'm back already.
The bug was easily and instantly reproduced just as I wrote earlier:
With one of the lines under the thumbnails (thumbnail view in
Bridge) set to date created, and the other three to Date Modified,
Pixel Dimensions and Color Profile, respectively. I then invoked the
Global Purge cache command in Bridge CS4. Poof! The date created line
under each and every thumbnail is now blank. The space for the line is there, but it's totally empty,
blank. >:(
Invoking
Tools > Cache > Build and Export Cache > for all folders and subfolders restores the data in the blanked lines wiped out by the global Purge Cache command in Bridge preferences.
Thank goodness I had disconnected the FW drives.
I then went again and repeated the procedure one more time. The
Date Created line was again immediately left blank under all
thumbnails.
As far as I'm concerned,
the Global Purge cache command in Bridge Preferences in CS4 is broken
, just as it was in CS3 at least until someone tells me how to stop this from happening, reliably and consistently.

I just reconnected my FireWire drive and, to my utter disgust and
horror, the Date Created was wiped out under who knows how many
thousands of images. >:( This despite having unmounted, disconnected
and turned off the FW drive, and despite having my Bridge Preferences
> Cache > Options > set to A

drive, restoring through the Tools > Cache > Build and Export Cache > for all folders and subfolders command the blank

NEF Thumbnails do not show in Bridge CS4

I just installed Adobe CS4 Design Premium. I am using a NIKON camera and shoot in RAW. System is Windows XP.
I installed the Camera Raw plugin and can open the photos in PS but Bridge does not make thumbnails for these files. This was working with Bridge CS3.
Would appreciate any help.

In most cases problems with RAW files are one of 2 problems.
1. There is more than one version in the plug-in folder. Go to PS help/about plug-in/camera raw. Only one version should be listed.
2. The plug-in is in the wrong folder. It should be in program files/COMMON FILES/adobe/plug-ins/cs4/file formats.
Note: This based on CS3, not sure how CS4 does it with 64 and 32 bit version, but should be similar.

TIFF Thumbnails Not Showing in Bridge CS4

Hi. I just reinstalled PS CS4 (after system crash). Now I can not see TIFF thumbnails in Bridge (neither RAW but I use LR). I unistalled once with ACR 5.5 upgrade and reinstalled again from scratch and the problem persists. Nevertheless I can see TIF thumnail from Windows Vista Explorer. I also tried to access the Bridge Cache location and seems to be unavailable, even after 2nd installation. I tried to Purge Cache but nothing works. Any help? Thanks

When you say you try to purge the cache and "nothing works" what does this mean?
The program does not seem to do anything
When I look at the Preference/Thumbnail THERE IS NO PLACE FOR THUMBNAILS. I detected this before but I don't
know how to assign a place not even a default place apears there.
If you go to tools/cache/purge cache for xx folder does this work? Your thumbs should blank out and rebuild.
Nothing happens!!
I know I have to solve the thumbnail location issue, the problem is I don't know how!!
