torch 9810 with AT&T, unlimited data, on wifi currently, and previously and currently using BBM...
Try to update, due to it saying there's an update available, however is fails about halfway through? trying to update to v 7.0.1.23. Tried to go to the website to download rather than bb world... it won't let me download from there either.
Having some lag/freezing issues too. Just got the phone 2 weeks ago. Haven't downloaded anything other than the os update. this is #4 torch I've had. Kinda getting tired of having to send my phone in every month or so.

Your OS update was not made properly and hence you are facing the problems of lag and hang.
If it is telling that there is an update available then it will install but if the previous update is not properly or installed successfully then it gives problem for the next update or other updates.

My phone keeps popping up for me up update my webos i do not want to.... it accidentally clicked over to update and now i do not know how to turn off this update. I assume there has to be away not to update my phone. I took the battery out so the update would not be completed and this is were i am stuck! i put the battery back and it automatically starts the update I tried the chat support of course they were no help telling me there is no way to stop the update but i believe there is a way! I tried to hit the orange but sym and r to restart and that didnt seem to help. I also tried to click the top button 3 times and that doesnt work either! All suggestions would help

There are ways to get around it (charge your battery in a separate charger, if you have one, keep your phone in airplane mode, etc, etc) but eventually the phone will take the update.
I have to echo what wushu2004 says, why do you not want the update?
P.S. If you continue to interrupt the process, you may get into a situation where it will no longer start up, causing you to resort to using the webOS Doctor tool, which will also install the latest update (and doing this works but has a few ramifications)

You cannot stop it from popping up.
it will continue every few minutes until its installed.

Hit Alt then T then O. It will open the options dialog. Select the Advanced Tab, then select the Update tab. There will be an option to not check for updates. I would however strongly encourage you to upgrade to the latest firefox. It's much safer, faster, and easier to use.

You can delete the actual iOS 8.0.2 update, itself, but you won't be able to remove the red ball notification and Apple's update notification in the Software Update section in the General Settings area.
Go into iOS Settings app, look for the General Tab in the left hand column, in the right hand column, look for Usage.
Tap on the Usage. If your iPad is charged more than 60%, a Usage list wiil be generated (this will take a little time to generate).
Look for the iOS 8 icon.
Tap the arrow at the far right of this icon.
A new screen will slide over and there should be a long button that should appear and say Delete in red.
Tap that button and the iOS update should begin deleting, itself (this will take a few minutes, too)

But I get notifications to update and don't know how to turn it off. I've gone into the Purchases tab of the App store and deleted it. I don't want to turn off Update notifications (which is irrelevant in any case because I see no option to do that in Notifications system preference pane). Lacking further info, we can't give you concrete information. Where did you get iPhoto from? The App Store or an installer CD of iLife, or the installer disc that came with your iMac?
What operating system do you really have installed?
Did you backup your data before attempting to install? If not, that was very bad judgement on your call, as anything can fail at anytime once you begin an install.

My Macbook Air is running on Yosemite 10.10.2 and I want to update it to the current version of 10.10.3. However, I cannot do that as it is not letting me update anything.
