How much do you think it will cost me to use my blackberry messenger if i travel to canada? Won't it be free? Or would roaming charges apply?
Because i really dont want to have to text people, because i know that would cost lots

Messages sent using BlackBerry Messenger and BlackBerry PIN to PIN Messaging are covered under the customer’s data plan or feature. So, if you are charged roaming for data, that is the only way you will be charged for using the blackberry messenger feature.

DirectNIC's customers outside of the U.S. are unable to connect to their email accounts using their blackberries

I work for directNIC.com and our customers who are located in foreign countries are unable to send/receive email on their blackberry devices. The problem started at the beginning of this month and we can not figure out what the problem is. Our U.S. blackberry customers are not having any problems. Our non-U.S. customers have reported errors such as needing to revalidate the account and when they tried to they received an invalid domain or invalid username/password message. Some customers said the email just quit working and they received an unable to connect error message. I've had one customer provide me with a link to their wireless provider's blackberry email account setup and I am unable to setup their email account there or any email account that uses any of our servers. All of our customer's email accounts work in their email clients on their computers, their other phones, and through their webmail it is only their blackberries. We've white listed all of blackberry's IP addresses and we've checked the server logs to see if there were any connection attempts when I tried to setup the email accounts through the customer's online blackberry interface and there wasn't even an attempt to connect to the server. The error message that I receive is as follows:
Email address domain not found:
The email address domain 'insert domain name here' cannot be found. Please verify this
information is correct. If the error persists contact 'insert domain name here' (your
email provider)
The problem isn't with just one wireless provider it's with multiple providers in multiple countries but the U.S. customers aren't reporting any problems. I am able to setup my personal email account through his blackberry site, an email account from my work through his blackberry site, my yahoo.com email address, and my hotmail.com email address. The only email accounts that do not work are the email accounts that are on any of our servers.   Some of these servers have different server configuration but all of them have all of blackberry's IP addresses whitelisted. Our premium hostng email servers have the same software installed on them as my work email server does and my work email account works fine when I try to set it up through blackberry but none of the premium hosting email accounts that I tried to setup through this customers interface will work. The problem is only with blackberry devices and is only with customers outside of the U.S. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas please let us know.

What I suggest is that you have your affected users exercise their formal support channel -- which is available via their carrier. The carriers have the ability to escalate cases into RIM for resolution.

Can I manually access, and set-up, a profile outside of the browser?

I set up a proxy in the browser using an address from a proxy list website and right after I did that it crashed every time I tried to open the browser. I searched on Chrome, trying to find a way to manually access my settings outside of the browser since I couldn't even get in to the browser, and I was directed to my profile. No website said how to alter the settings but they did say my settings were contained in the profiles. I thought to myself, "Since all my settings are in that profile, deleting it and reinstalling Firefox should fix it." It unfortunately didn't and now I have absolutely no way to make a new profile and every time I try to open Firefox it says I have an instance of the application running already.

Can you view text outside of the canvas? as with the view menu you can see animation paths, bounding boxes and handles??? many thanks

I'm in the middle of a text animation design treatment and unless my memory is completely failing I thought this was an option.
An example would be selecting all layers and being able to see all bounding boxes and animation paths while moving along the timeline.
Of course this could be quite a mess if you couldn't selectively chose which layers, its just with this current project it would be so helpful if
I could see the text beyond the canvas to aid in my animations.

I do understand shift + v " to "Show Full View Area" and shift + z to fill screen, etc.
and command + & - for zooming
what I'd like to do is selectively view, say, the text outside of the canvas as you can see the bounding box
which contains the text or object when selecting one or all layers in the layers column
I haven't used this feature in a while though I do recall using it in the past.

How can we prevent JTabbedPanes from transferring focus to components outside of the tabs during tab traversal?

I noticed a strange focus traversal behavior of JTabbedPane.
During tab traversal (when the user's intention is just to switch between tabs), the focus is transferred to a component outside of the tabs (if there is a component after/below the JTabbedPane component), if using Java 6. For example, if using the SSCCE below...

At step 3 (upon selecting any other tab), the focus would go to the component below the JTabbedPane first (hence the printed message in the console), before actually going to the selected tab.
This does not occur in Java 7, so I'm assuming it is a bug that is fixed. And I know that Oracle suggests that we should use Java 7 nowadays.
The problem is: We need to stick to Java 6 for a certain application. So I'm looking for a way to fix this issue for all our JTabbedPane components while using Java 6.
So, is there a way to prevent JTabbedPanes from passing the focus to components outside of the tabs during tab traversal (e.g. when users are just switching between tabs), in Java 6?
Note: I've read the release notes between Java 6u45 to Java 7u15, but I was unable to find any changes related to the JTabbedPane component. So any pointers on this would be deeply appreciated.

Please allow me to clarify first: Actually the problem is not that the child components (inside tabs) get focused before the selected tab. The problem is: the component outside of the tabs gets focused before the selected tab. For example, the JButton in the SSCCE posted above gets focused when users switch between tabs, despite the fact that the JButton is not a child component of the JTabbedPane.
It is important for me to prevent this behavior because it causes a usability issue for forms with 'auto-scrolling' features.
What I mean by 'auto-scrolling' here is: a feature where the form automatically scrolls down to show the current focused component (if the component is not already visible). This is a usability improvement for long forms with scroll bars (which saves the users' effort of manually scrolling down just to see the focused component).
To see this feature in action, please run the SSCCE below, and keep pressing the 'Tab' key (the scroll pane will follow the focused component automatically):

1) JRE 1.6 causes the focus to transfer to the JButton (which is outside of the tabs entirely) first; then
2) In response to the JButton gaining focus, the 'auto-scrolling' feature scrolls down to the bottom of the form, to show the JButton. At this point, the tab headers are hidden from view since there are many child components; then
3) JRE 1.6 transfers the focus to the tab contents; then
4) The 'auto-scrolling' feature scrolls up to the selected tab's contents, but the tab header itself is still hidden from view (as a side effect of the behavior above); then
5) Users are forced to manually scroll up to see the tab headers whenever they are just switching between tabs.
In short, the tab headers will be hidden when users switch tabs, due to the Java 6 behavior posted above.
That is why it is important for me to prevent the behavior in my first post above (so that it won't cause usability issues when we apply the 'auto-scrolling' feature to our forms).

Using a DAQ value in a location outside of the While Loop it is placed in

I am writing a program that records the speed of a car and then is supposed repeat the action through the use of an actuator. I was able to write the program to the point where I am saving the data into a .txt file and will be able to read it back out. My problem is that I need to use a dbl value that I am calculating from the output of a DAQ Assistant block that is contained inside a while loop in another part of the program to compare current speed vs. recorded speed then output an action. Everytime I try to draw a connection outside of the while loop, the actual value is not read outside of the loop. I cannot put the other part of the program into the while loop because the while loop only performs every .1 to 1 second and I need the output to the actuator to be a continous string delievered to the serial port. I also cannot create another DAQ Assistant block that reads the same port outside of the while loop. I have thought about using a jumper to another input on the input card, but I would prefer not to use the extra space.
So generally speaking, I'm wondering if there is a way to read a value obtained from a DAQ Assistant block outside of the while loop it is contained in.

I am not 100% sure what your problem is but how about writing the red value into the local variable and reading it outside of the loop? Or enqueue the value into the queue and dequeue it in the other loop (Producer/Consumer Structure (Data))?

Using a variable outside of the block it has been incremented

I came across a scenario where in I am having to use a variable (for summing up), outside of the block within which it has been incremented. Its something like below:

The varaible 'TotalTax' is being declared in the header, incremented within the Body and is being used in the footer section. For the above mentioned syntax, the value being displayed for TotalTax is '0', i.e the value for which it has been defaulted while declaration.
Can someone please help me in getting it fixed such that TotalTax would display the value it was assigned in the Body rather than '0'.

Hello and thank you for responding. I checked out the link you provided; however, my problem is not reviwed there.
I am setting a variable inside a <?start:body?>. Inside the body are several loops - which is fine. But it ends with <?end body?>. If I reference my variable BEFORE <?end body?> it retains it's value from the calculations within the program. But if I try to use the variable AFTER the <?end body?>, it give me an error "NULL" value or similar.
Any thoughts?

I made the change online since I had been waiting on the phone for over 10 minutes for a customer service rep to come available. Well when I made the change online since that seems to be the thing that Verizon wants it's customers to do and I didn't see all the different plans available and just did the upgrade to 8g. Next bill had over $900 in roaming charges on her phone line. I called the 1-800 number and waiting for a service rep and after 20 minutes of waiting and being put on hold was told it was the customers mistake and there was nothing they could do.Thanks for nothing. I called back after thinking about it and wondered why changing a data plan for the phones in the US would change a international call plan. Waiting over 10 minutes again between waiting for a service rep and hold for one to answer the call. Gave her all the information about it and she said she would call back. Well, 4 days later over the weekend she had nevered called back. So on the phone again for the third time and after 20 plus minutes again was told that when I did it online I click the plan that didn't include international call only the data plan. Explained that I never saw the difference in the plan packages so put on hold again and was told that they could credit $100 to my bill. Wow, thanks alot !!! We have been Verizon customers for probably atleast 12 years and this is how you treat your long term customers?

This is just a warning to let you know that the server was not able to verify whether the private key matches your public key, because it could not get the key from HSM. This is normal. SSL should still work.

The advantage of Edge being that u have the "power" to do whatever you like, but as with new things it takes awhile to figure it all out.

Reading data from a text file but can't use the data outside of the function.

I am trying to load a variable from data in a text file.
I can read the text file fine but the variable data seems
only to be available with in the function that reads it.
I need to use the variable data outside of the function.
Does anyone have any suggestions to work around this issue?

Lightbox Gallery, moving prev/next buttons to outside of the gallery box

Hello,
I want to change the look of the "prev" and "next" buttons to simple arrows and move them outside of the big image that opens up when you click on the thumbnail, so that no part of the big image is covered by these buttons. Creating the arrow images are easy, but I've still got a lot to learn when it come to dealing with scripts.
Which part of the script do I need to change to move the location of where there buttons show up?

They don't display because the link to those buttons points to an "images" folder (lowercase I) but they're stored on the server in "Images" folder (capital I).

It's usually best to avoid mixing cases when naming folders and files to avoid these issues, esp on Linux servers. Stick to all lowercase.

Saving .ai file outside of the artboard?

Is there a way to save the whole canvas out to a .pdf and not getting content cut off at the artboards? Or do I have to specifically change the size on each artboard? I have about 400 files that the content exceededs the artboard and I need to print out things outside of the artboard as well. Please help!! I am using Illustrator CS4.

another possible solution would be to record an action that fits the artboard to all art, then saves the file to PDF. CS4 doesn't allow you to record "fit to artboard bounds" command, but I have made a script for that, you can record an action to run the script and save to PDF, then you can batch run the action on your 400 files.

Mouse position outside of the top-most container

I know how to acquire the position of the mouse through either the MouseListener or MouseMotionListener interfaces by calling the getX() and getY() of the MouseEvent class.
But if the mouse is moved outside of the top-most container, eg. a JFrame, then the methods in the two listener interfaces above aren't called.
So, does anyone know how I can retrieve the position of the mouse if it is outside the JFrame?

As far as I know this is not possible using pure Java. Search the native methods forum for the OS(s) you are supporting and this topic.
