BBM Restore via Email not working

I have a 9930 on verizon, and have previously backed up my bbm contacts to my email address that I have also setup on my new blackberry. I try to restore bbm contacts via email, i click confirm to send an email, but then it says "The verification email could not be sent. Please make sure [email protected] is a valid email address and try again later." How can I fix this? I have manually added one bbm contact and I can chat with him fine..but I'd like to restore my entire contact list. Thanks!

Go to your Options > Device > Advanced > Default Serivces.
Is the same email account set as your default message service?
Then, Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Now, try the BBM contact restore again.
Any chance you also backed these up via the local media card?
Anyway, once you've changed over your new BlackBerry fully, your contacts 'should' being to sync once updated across the network and servers. Be patient, give it some time.

  • Eprint via email not working on 3520

    My newly set up 3520 works fine with receiving and printing an image directly from my Vista machine via wifi.
    However, when I tried the eprint via email/attachment, nothing happened. I think I got all the various buttons clicked and setups completed, but apparently missed something along the way. To be clear, I sent an email with a jpeg attached to the printer's email address, but it did not go thru. No error messages or anything along that line...just nothing. How do I troubleshoot this?

    MORE.....Just tried to print again, and an image I put INLINE did print along with some text I added in the message area. However, the image I attached did not print. This is fine with me, but the setup instructions say an attached image is called for...obviously, some editing on HP's part is needed. In any case, the issue is resolved as far as I am concerned.

  • BBM 7 and emails not working

    Hi, a few days ago my bbm stopped sending and receiving messages so I upgrade it to the new, BBM 7 version.  However after is ask for your id password etc it says ' Cannot set up bbm.  Insufficient wireless coverage or your connection to the wireless network is turned off.'.  My wifi however is connected, I have uninstalled and reinstalled it many times, I have wiped my phone and rebooted it but nothing seems to work.  Along with this I am no longer receiving emails however whatsapp and facebook it still working so I doubt it has anything to do with the connection.  If anyone knows any solution or advice I would appreciate it immensely.  

    Call whoever you pay your cell phone bill to. I'm assuming that's Vodafone. I don't know what happened to your plan. Give them a call and they can make sure your plan is still provisioned properly. If it is they can help you troubleshoot the problem.

    An iPhone backup to a computer via iTunes stores the photos in a backup file that is only meant to be be used if needed to restore back to the phone. There is 3rd party "extractor" software available but otherwise the photos are not directly viewable.
    The backup via iTunes was a good idea and your Camera Roll photos should be there and should be able to be restored to your new phone. However if it was me I wouldn't rely on that alone. I would also import the photos to a computer where you can see and verify that you have a copy. That is a good idea at any time (not just when you know you might need it). Any phone can be lost, broken, suffer hardware issues, etc at any time and lose all data on it.     I have purchased and replaced 3 ipod models, This is my third one (80GB ipod classic) and with out fail after 1 year and 2 months after buying it, it stopped syncing with my itunes and now after 5 attempts to restore it will not restore and will not work. I am sick of this and find it preposterous. What is wrong with ipods..? what is wrong with my recent one?

  • Sharing by email not working in PSE10

    Hi there.  I upgraded from 6 to 10 yesterday and things were going relatively smoothly until I tried to email some attachments.  I'm operating on a Windows 7 computer and was trying to share via email attachments.  I select my photos and the contact that I want to send it to and then it just goes into limbo with the little moving circle.  One time the actual message box came up, but then my attachments were too big, so I reselected some and I haven't been able to get the message box to come up again.  Just been trying to do one picture as a test, so its not a size issue at this point.  With an old computer I used to do it through Outlook, but don't have that on here as it is a work computer and we use Notes, so I was using the Adobe Mail Services option tied to an email which did get verified.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.  Amy

    Thanks for trying, but what you have suggested did not work.  Every time I try to share photos via email, the software crashes.  This is extremely frustrating.  As far as I am concerned, this software has been a huge waste of time and money.

    1. Launch Organizer.
    2. Under 'edit' menu select 'edit->preferences->Adobe Partner services'.
    3. Click on 'clear online service data'. Press 'yes' followed by 'Ok' in coming dialogs.
    4. Close and launch Organizer again.
    5. Again Under 'edit' menu select 'edit->preferences->Adobe Partner services'. Now click  on 'refresh' button. Click 'ok' in coming dialog.

    Deleted the SMTP setting
    Recreated the SMTP using the same settings
    Able to send emails now
    No logic - as usual - just a bug!

    You don't. Apps are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them. Instead of creating a new ID, change the primary email address on your existing ID.

    @Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
    UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
    Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
    You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
    Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
    Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
    Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
    IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
    You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
    Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
    I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!

    It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

    Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

    I had a bad experience with my gmail account. It was really slow. 15min looks to work but it won´t make it faster as push email is not supported by gmail when using nokia devices ( I have read it somewhere on a gmail mobile compatibility chart at google help pages)
    I have created an ovi mail account and it works as push email on my c6 00 (latest firmware). I have setup gmail to send a copy of all the incoming emails to my ovi account, so I have instant feedback at my phone of incoming mails.
    The bad news of this workaround is that when I reply i´m doing it from my ovi account where y erase the mails after reading as I have the original mail at gmail.
    I hope this helps someone that needs push+gmail.
