  • Random adds on bbm

    Hey,
Ive had this porblme for 2 days now, so recent and it is getting on my nerves.
I keep getting these random adds of people i dont no and have never heard off, literally it is like 100 adds in the space of an hour and like 6 adds in the spaceof a minute. I have never heard of these people and when you accept they do not speak and when you do write to them they delte you!
The adds are very strange becuase they all come through at the same time!
My pin is only on my facebook but my facebook profile is set to private so no people i do not know can see my pin!  Also these adds are not just people added you due to the speed they come through together and the large amount they come in! The pins do not speak and then disspear!
This must be some sort of virus or bug!!!!!!!!!!
Please someone help becuase my phone is driving me mad and does not stop buzzzing
    Please help
    Many thanks

I'm guessing someone else, with a PIN maybe one digit off (like a 3 instead of a 4, or something, posted an incorrect PIN somewhere out on the net... or a bathroom wall
You can block ALL of the PIN requests other than those in your own BlackBerry Address Book if you want, looking at your Options > Security > Firewall.

If other platforms are the concerm, then get antivirus for those platforms, not the BlackBerry.

  • BBM (Q5) Send Fail After Apr 1 2014 Update

    Dear everyone,
Hi! My friend has a Q5 and I use Nexus 4. We frequently chat through BBM and really love it.
On Apr 1 2014, sticker was added to BBM, and it is cool. However, ever since my friend always have "Send Failure" (a red cross or grey mark) when send message to me. But I can send message to my friend, except pictures.
We don't hear the issue from other BB users (they use Z10), so I guess it is with Q5.
We changed nothing in settings, so I guess it may be sort of bug in the new update.
    Can you help me out?
    Thanks a million!

just a guess but your firewall is probably blocking Thunderbird. Traditional Linux firewalls only managed ports and protocols. there is an emerging trend (particularly lead by the anti virus crowd) to make firewalls look at applications and application version numbers leading to issues of this nature when a new version is released.

  • Fake BBM messages sent

So I have had many of my contacts on BBM say that I sent them messages with sound clips, random emoticons, and contact requests when I have not.  I does not show up in my message log but it does show up in their message log.  This is only happening with BBM contacts.  How are these being sent under my BBM pin? is it a virus? Thank you

It shouldn't be a virus as there are not yet any known viruses for BlackBerry.
That said, is there any chance that anyone has been playing with your phone?  Or did you install any applications just before this all started happening?
If you have any applications that you don't trust, delete them from your phone.  In addition, I would strongly suggest putting a password on your phone if you do not already have one.
There are more extreme steps that we can take to attempt to resolve the problem, but let's start by looking at these things.

This virus you put on your media card has not infected your BlackBerry device. Period.

  • Android anti-virus on Blackberry

I've been able to install, and run a few android apps on my Blackberry Z10. Would it be as effective running an anti virus/internet security whats unfortnatenly only releaslted on iOS, and android. It's a multi-device internet protection product. I know Blackberry is secure, but it wouldn't harm running something extra, is there any downsides if it did run stablely.

    It isn't needed.

When i login to yahoo, my first click results in the spinning wheel. Could i have a virus? Or why does it only happen when i login to yahoo?

Firefox allows to select part of a word. You can select a word with a double click and use Shift + left click to set the end of the selection, so you need to click at the end of the last word instead of in it.

  • Email and BBM Notifications

I just got a replacement phone and I get sounds notifications for both email and BBM that I want to adjust or turn off.  That said, when I go to the "notifications" area of "System Settings" and scroll down to "Applications" I do not have either "Email" or "BBM" listed in there.  I checked a friends phone and he has them in there, and we have the same phone and software version.
Would appreciate any idea of where to go to change these settings (not in HUB management I looked there) as well as why these two would not be listed in that area.
    Thanks

If you haven't tried a reboot, or a reset, do it and then check again. Personally, I would reboot first, then try soft reset if reboot doesn't fix it.

Obs.: meu sistema e windows 7 home premium 64bits

  • Virus TI au and vst plugin in logic 8

i've seen two cases where it causes massive crashes and lock ups. i hope access and apple fix this ASAP. it's really ******* my friends off...

With the 2.5 beta my Virus TI behaves like that in Logic 7.2 aswell, so I'm afraid this is not a problem for Apple to fix, rather Access Music.
The 2.5 beta update have helped in alot of areas, but it still freezes my computer up from time to time when launching the plugin.

  • Will it harm my Mac if I download the Graboid Video? Does it contain a virus or something like that?

If you are using this program will you let me know if it is safe or not? I'll look forward for your answers.

There's no virus in graboid.  I downloaded this some weeks ago to try it out but like all .pkg's I don't necessarily trust I didn't install it but use Pacifist to see what the installer would install and extract the desired parts.
The GraboidVideoMac.app is really all I needed from the installer.  The installer tries to install it's own par2, unrar, and an older VLC.app (1.0.3, VLC is up to 1.1.12).  I didn't want this stuff installed since I already have these things in my desired places.
You have to set up an account which you can do from the GraboidVideoMac.app.  Problem is the amount you can download is limited (2 Megs I think).  After that you need to pay.  Screw that.  So I just forgot all about using it.

  • I ran a virus/trojan fix and this is what it said it could not repair something in the main library core or something like that.  What do I do?  The problem seems to be with safari?

I ran a virus/trojan fix and this is what it said it could not repair something in the main library core or something like that.  What do I do?  The problem seems to be with safari?

I ran the utility disk and this is what it said.
Warning permission differ Applications/Safari drwxr-xrx they are -rwxr-xr system/livrary Cores has been modified and will not be repaired.
Permission apllication differ on System/livrary/Pr or could be -rw-r--r-- they are rwxr-xr-x Application/iTune be droxr-xr-x they are rwxr-xr-x
Then I hit fix permissions and it said this
Warning SUID file Systm/Library/Core has been modified will not be repaired
I also downloaded Bitdefender Virus Scanner and it found nothing.

  • Could this be a Mail virus or something like it?

Just received an e-mail as follows:
From: Mail Delivery Subsystem <[email protected]>
    Subject: Returned Mail: User unknown
    Date: November 27, 2005 10:41:55 AM AKST
    To: (my e-mail address here)
The message indicates that the mail was returned to me because there was a problem with the delivery (The following addresses had permanent fatal errors..."):
That paragraph is followed by a batch of 17 e-mail addresses, each with a user name beginning with the letters "p" and the letter "d," but every one of them addresses @ aol.com
The Remote for each e-mail was: Remote-MTA: DNS; air-yc01.mail.aol.com
    X-Mailer Microsoft-Outlook-Express-Macintosh-Edition/5.02.2002
Please note that I have never used Outlook Express. In fact, I don't think it's installed on my Mac. Also, here is where I think the problem is at:
    Reply-To-"PEA" <(my e-mail address is shown in here)>
From: "Peabody" <(my e-mail address again shown in here)>
Does it mean that somebody used my e-mail addressfor mass e-mail, or is it a virus? Nobody has my e-mail address, except for a couple of friends, and I have never answered to anybody I don't know personally.

Not a virus since there are no viruses that currently affect OS X which has been available for 5 years.
Please note that I have never used Outlook Express. In fact, I don't think it's
    installed on my Mac.
OE for Macs is an OS 9 application which if installed on your Mac, would require OS 9 to be installed to run the Classic environment under OS X.
