BBQ10 sync with Mozilla Lightning

Hello!
I have a BB Q10 and a PC with Windows 8.1. I don't like Outlook, so I would like to sync calendar and contacts with Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning.
Until now I am not able to dothis.
Is there anybody who can help me?
Thank you
Luca

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
If you are asking about direct sync, via USB or BT, between your PC-based Outlook client and your BB10 device, then refer:
http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/60798/tom1359418099212.jsp
As you can see, the PIM apps you mention are not included, and therefore are not compatible with the LINK software, which is what must be used to sync in this manner.
However, if you instead take the 2-step process of synchronizing your desktop PIM to an OTA service (e.g., Outlook.com), you can then also sync your BB10 device to that OTA service. Then, your BB10 device and your desktop PIM will remain in sync, using the OTA service as their conduit of communication. This would further serve as a backup of your data by placing it also onto that OTA service, and you'd not be risking data loss due to loss of either the device or the PC.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Iphone sync with Thunderbird/Lightning

I use Thunderbird/Lightning as my PIM and I sync it with google using GCALDaemon but I would love for iTunes to sync directly with the Contacts in Thunderbird and my calendar with Lightning...
My question is this...is this option in the works? I find it strangely frightning that the iphone can use the micro$oft programs but not the one that most mac and linux users use.

    You're welcome.
**Note** I am one of the guys who got the iPhone home only to find out that XP Pro x64 would not work with it... Had to spend $$$ to downgrade to Vista. As ATT refused to take it back
Do you mean AT&T refused to take it back by issuing a full credit since the packaging was opened?
An iPhone can be returned for credit within the first 14 days after the purchase date for any reason or without providing a reason. If the packaging is opened, a 10% restocking fee is charged and credited in full if the packaging is not opened. After the initial 14 days regardless if the packaging is opened or not, you own it.
If returned within the 14 day window and AT&T refused to issue credit less the restocking fee, you should have called Apple since this was not correct.
As you may notice I live in Indiana (South Western) and the ratio of PCs to Macs here is like 1000 to 1 Hence I use and service PCs more.
Which means you have no job security concerns!
After being forced to use Windows at work all these years - I vaguely recall using a PC with DOS commands (boy was that fun!) prior to Windows first or second release and the oil company I worked for at the time going with Windows company wide - my money has never been spent on a PC running Windows and never will. I'll go without a computer at home before doing so.

  • 6630 - syncing with Mozilla Sunbird calendar

Is this possible? I've given up using Outlook and switched to Mozilla Sunbird for calendar (been using Thunderbird for email for ages).
Anyone know if it's possible to use the calendar on my 6630 with my Nokia 6630?
    Many thanks,
    Ed Ludlow

    Hi
As you are aware, Sunbird is the new cross-platform calendar application from the Mozilla Foundation.
The aim of the project is to create a standalone calendar for someone who uses either Mozilla Thunderbird or Firefox as their email client or web browser.
At the moment Sunbird does not integrate with other packages, it is purely a standalone project, although it is expected that the Mozilla Foundation will attempt to prioritize this task to be solved in the near future.
Sorry but I can't see a way you can use PC Suite to synchronise between to the two products.

  • Mozilla Lightning shared Calendar

Can I use shared calendars with Mozilla Lightning? If so, how is the url?
    Calendar Server Version:
Oracle Communications Calendar Server for CALDAV Clients version: 7u1-3.14 (built 2011-04-14T12:15:44-0700)

    Hi,
    One way :
You have to create a new calendar on the same server and want to subscribe to [email protected] :
    Settings :
    - on the network
    - CALDAV
    - Location : http(s)://calServer:calPort/dav/home/[email protected]/calendar/ (the same aurl as yours, except the mail)
-Authentication : your own login and password.
The user has to share their calendar first.
This link might be useful : http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite/Configuring+CalDAV+Clients+for+Calendar+Server+7

  • Syncing Calendars with Mozilla Sunbird

I use Mozilla Sunbird as my calendar application, and it is really good (Far better than Outlook). Now, my problem is getting these calendars onto my Touch. At the moment, I am exporting the calendar in iCalendar format and then have to use a special program to import it into Outlook, so iTunes can sync it.
Will there be support for syncing with Sunbird? Even just being able to locate the .ics or a CalDAV share in iTunes and have that sync would be enough.

I had a similar problem with al day events showing up a day out of synch. Have a look at the following link, it solved my problem!
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692
by deleting the synch history first and then replacing the data on the ipod the issue is resolved!
Also check that both outlook and ipod are set to the same time zones!

  • How to sync with two computers not at the same time, I'm registerd with one computer

How to sync with two computers (not at the same time), I'm registered with one computer and am trying to connect with second computer with same iPhone. To sync the first time with the second PC "Firefox Sync Option tells me Create New account or Connect, when I connect it gives me a Passcode and on iPhone it also gives me a Passcode, than how do I connect? Both the iPhone and PC gives me a Passcode and have now idea what to do with them.
Where do I find my Sync Key ? so I can install manually if it works ?

Use the Sync Key ''(Recovery Key)'' from the PC that you used to initially setup your Firefox Sync service, when setting up that 2nd PC with Sync. You need to use '''Add a device''' to setup the 2nd and subsequent devices on a Sync account. <br />

  • My iphone 5 can not sync with my itunes cloud

my iphone 5 can not sync with my itunes cloud, how can i sync my iphone 5 with my library or is it not possible please help

Is your iPhone connected to your computer using the lightning cable or are you doing WiFi sync?
Sometimes the iPhone doesn't show up in the side bar if you're using WiFi syncing, if its not working, then be connected to your WiFi on your phone and on your computer (Same network) let me know how it's going, if it doesn't work still. Turn your phone off and on again and put in your pass code then try to sync it (keep your phone unlocked and not in sleep mode) tel me if it appears in the side bar.

  • List of email clients/address books that will sync with palm desktop 6.2

Is there (and if not, I think there should be) a list somewhere of email clients whose address books will sync with a palm Treo (palm Desktop version 6.2)? I have been happily using various palm handhelds for about 6 years now and have been syncing the address book with Mozilla and now Thunderbird  for the last couple years. I currently have an m130, but it's time to upgrade to a "smart phone" as I'm tiering of carrying around two devices. Unfortunately, the Treo requires palm Desktop version 6.2 which is not compatible with the Thunderbird palm sync. I have had the idea that Outlook (which I've never used or been exposed to) will sync with palm, but something I read gave me the impression that I would need to buy some third party software to make that happen, plus the $110 they want for Outlook. I would like to think there are other choices for someone who just wants to sync their smart phone with their email client's address book. It seems that such syncing ability would be esential to palm's sales and that a listing of all such syncing possibilities would be extremely beneficial to sales, particularly for new sales to people aren't already insiders on this sort of topic. The lack of ability to sync with Thunderbird may just cause me to stick with my old m130 awhile longer and give up on the idea of a nice new smart phone.

Wow, thanks a bunch! You just saved me from a long, involved, and discouraging search for an alternative. I'm using WindowsXP, palm m130, palm desktop 4.1, Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 and Thunderbird's palm sync conduit palmsync-2.0.0.x-wsm .  I'm wanting to purchase a Treo 700 on ebay, but went to the palm site, clicked on the support link, then the Treo 700, then the downloads tab and it directed me to desktop 6.2, which made me believe I would have to use that to sync a treo 700.
I do wish that both palm and Thunderbird would talk more about the palm Thunderbird palm sync. Unless you're a real geek or very determined (I'm the later), you're not likely to find out that such capability exists. I can't believe I'm the only one out there who needs to have my email client address book contacts with me all the time, so there has to be others who are looking for this.
Next stop, ebay - I have a smart phone to buy.

  • I use Firefox on my Mac (OS 10.9.2). Firefox v29 encouraged syncing. Can I sync with my iPhone and iPad?

I see conflicting information about Firefox for Mac OS. It works on my Mac Desktop computer running OS X.
    What is the official position?
If Firefox is not available for iPhone and iPad, is such a product in the pipeline?

Sorry, Mozilla has no plans for a version of Firefox for iOS devices. As far as the Firefox Sync service, Mozilla discontinued the app for iOS devices awhile ago, but [https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bookmarks-on-the-go/id550037184?mt=8 Bookmarks on the Go app] took over what Mozilla had created for iOS and the Sync service. Unfortunately Firefox 29 has a new version of Sync that isn't backwards compatible, so Bookmarks on the Go will need to be updated to work with the new Sync version.
I think the major problem between Apple iOS and Mozilla is Apple's "walled garden" approach to software running on their devices and Mozilla's open source approach to software.

  • Can I connect my iPad mini to a data projector using a lightning to 30-pin adapter connected to a 30-pin to VGA connector? Or will this only work with a lightning to VGA connector.

Can I connect my iPad mini to a data projector using a lightning to 30-pin adapter connected to a 30-pin to VGA connector? Or will this only work with a lightning to VGA connector?

The lightning to 30 pin adapter does not support video as per the item description in the Apple online store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter
This adapter lets you connect devices with a Lightning connector to many of your 30-pin accessories.* Supports analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Video output not supported.
You will need to the Lightning to VGA adapter directly
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD825ZM/A/lightning-to-vga-adapter?fnode=3a
Or the Lightning Digital AV Adapter
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter
If the projector supports HDMI input.

  • Is it possible to use Firefox Sync with more than one browser on a single phone?

I have set up a New Sync account. I have logged in with my desktop Firefox (30a2) and with Firefox release on my Android phone. They seem to be syncing with each other. But with Aurora, it says "Could not sign in". I'm fairly sure I have the password right.
How do I work out what's wrong or debug this?

    Yes this should work.
Before new Sync there was a restriction, Release/Beta and Aurora/Nightly were considered one channel each. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=988437 removed this restriction.

  • Contact Sync with Google and/or iCloud?

i am trying to finalize a sync of my contacts so that i have PHONE NUMBERS sorted in groups on my iPhone but i /also/ have email addresses to use in the autocomplete function in Mail on my phone.
if i don't have the Phone Numbers sorted into groups i will not be able to find anything and if i don't have emails in the autocomplete then i have to literally run a search in (what i have found to be a weak search function on the iPhone in Mail) then i have to find an email sent from this person, then i have to COPY the address than i have to paste it into an email.
i /currently/ have a sync using iCloud of my MOST IMPORTANT phone numbers and the "Previous Recipients" email data that i have run a applescript to get into AB/Contacts. So now the phone numbers and this Previous Recipients data is available to all devices.
i won't bore you with the details but i am finally uploading everything else (business cards etc, etc) to Google Contacts.
does anyone have any suggestions at this point as to whether i can ADD a sync with Google presumably by checking something in iTunes OR whether there is a way to add a GMail as a Microsoft Exchange Account?

    http://www.maciverse.com/add-gmail-contacts-to-ios-5.html
SHOULD I JUST EXPORT MY CONTACTS/ADDRESS BOOK DATA and import it to Google and just do a Google sync?
CAN I DO BOTH SYNCS AT THE SAME TIME?
WILL THE GOOGLE DATA SHOW UP in autocomplete in MAIL on all my devices?
anyone done this in a way that works?!
    THANKS

Yes, you can delete the places.sqlite file, but this action will delete all your bookmarks.
