BC 2.1 Update Vista 32 Doesn't Work

Updated XP Pro just fine with the 2.1 update. Downloaded the Vista 32 update and the .exe launches but eventually terminates after about half a minute.
Logged in with admin rights and user account control is OFF. I see from maxfixit I'm not the only one.

I have XP and Vista installed on separate hard drives. I updated XP with the bootcamp update designed for XP so as to obtain the drivers for my new 8800GT video card (Nvidia).
Attempting to do the same with Vista 32. Downloaded the BC update designed for Vista 32 in order to install the 8800GT drivers for Vista.
The XP update went well. My new Nvidia 8800GT card is working nicely in XP (and 10.5.2 of course). The Vista 32 BC update terminates with no message of any kind. Have to use task manager to see the bootcamp exe load then exit as described.

When I got my machine two years ago and loaded Firefox, I could scroll with the red button that's on the keyboard of the Lenovo ThinkPad x200. Then, a few months ago, Firefox was updated. In general, you are correct - but also your server does need to be properly configured (and those errors above lead me to think it may not be) to serve the file types that your uploading - but it could be something else entirely. Can you zip up your composition folder, upload it to your Creative Cloud files, set it to share, and then post a link here so I can download it? If you'd rather not share it publicly, can you PM me with a link to your composition files?

IOS 5.1 Update, Home Button Doesn't Work.

Ever since I installed the iOS 5.1 update on my iPhone 4, the home button does not work at all! I've tried every trouble shooting solution I could find. I've Restarted, I can't hard reset because the home button doesn't work, I've restored from back up, I've restored as new, I've vacuumed out and gently used a tooth brush in the port below the home button in attempt to remove any dust. I've tried opening a factory installed app such as Maps, Safari, Stocks etc and held the top button until the "Slide to power off" showed and then held down the home button until it went to home screen except it didn't go to the home screen at all the "slide to power off" disappeared after a while. I have extremely intermittent response with the Home Button. If i press it continuously it will work after 27 presses one time or 9 presses another but never when I try to do a hard reset and 9.999 times out of 10 it doesn't work. I am so frustrated! I didn't get it wet and it stopped working immediately after the software update. HELP!

I talked to Apple today and was told that it's a "hardware issue" and they will not fix it. I will have to pay 169.00 to have it repaired because it is no longer covered. He told me that "the software update triggered a hardware problem" and that they haven't heard of this issue before either and this was after he went and "spoke with a senior service advisor". The thing is that if THEIR software update triggered the "hardware problem" meaning that if I hadn't updated at all my phone would be in perfect working order right now then HOW IS THAT NOT A SOFTWARE ISSUE?! I am beyond livid. I cannot continue using my phone with assistive touch, NOTHING else works and I know this isn't the first time they've heard of it because how can so many people be having this problem and Apple NOT be aware of it?! My family has bought three MacBooks, three MacBook Pros, one iPad, two iPad 2s, seven iPhone 3s, one iPhone 3GS, five iPhone 4s, two iPhone 4S, four Apple TVs, one Time Capsule and COUNTLESS versions of iPods and have never had an issue having any of them repaired and only four of those products had to be and it was a fast and hassle free...then again they all were covered still at the time of repair...
How do you restore to a previous firmware? I don't want a new phone...I want MY phone to work...the one that worked perfectly before their update....this is beyond ridiculous...I wish apple would take a look at their own support communities and see that this ISN'T our problem...it's a problem created by THEM.

Since update extended wifi doesn't work

I updated my express extreme as required. Since my airport express that I use to extend my wifi doesn't work anymore. I did a reset and when I try to configuration it keeps telling me that an error has occurred and that I should try again.

I reset modem and router. Still have the same issue. I have a laptop connected to the network as well as a PS3. Both are working great. Did a Speedtest app test on iphone. With 3g it was working good. When i switched to wifi, it was trying to get the ping test accomplished, and could not. it was stuck in the ping test at 0% for a long time and never progress.

After update flash player doesn't work most of the time

About 2 weeks ago I installed a flash player security update and ever since then flash player doesn't work most of the time. On most websites with embeded video all I see is an empty placeholder where the video is supposed to be.
If I go to a site like Youtube all is fine. However, if I go to a site that has embeded a Youtube video all I see is the empty placeholder where the video is supposed to be.
Some folks have recommended I uninstall and download and reinstall. The problem with this is that there isn't *anything* related to Abobe flash player in Add/Remove programs.
Not sure what to do about this (read: I'm totally lost!).

The standard warranty is for 12 months from the date of purchase, unless you bough AppleCare which would have extended it to 2 years.
If it's out of warranty, then you pay for repairs, and it's expensive. There are 3rd party repairers who are cheaper.

As the previous poster said, it's more than likely a hardware issue, but there's no harm in trying the software fixes before you decide it needs repair.

Since updating Firefox, Dashlane doesn't work, but I am told you are working on it? When can I expect it to work again?

I updated Firefox and started to use it again, after having problems with it freezing and crashing. I had used it for years, but suddenly it was not working well and I went to Safari. When they indicated an update to Firefox, I updated it and started to again use it, as I always liked the way it worked and most of my Bookmarks were still good. I found that Dashlane did not work with it and I have been told you are aware of this and working on the problem. Please notify me when it is solved, as I want to continue to use Firefox but have to switch back to another browser to get to my bank or stock brokers site. For the record, I use a MacBook with OS 10.6.8.

Could you check to make sure Dashlane is up-to-date? Two other Mac users this week reported success:

Vista Installer doesn't work anymore.

I can't install new Abobe Reader because Vista Windows installer quit working long ago. Does Adobe have a self-installer version. Other programs I download for updates have their own installers.

After last update my iphone doesn't work as a USB modem anymore

I installed some softwareupdate to my MacBook Air today - and now my iPhone doesn't work as a USB modem anymore. Connecting via Wifi works. But this drains too much batteries - and USB usually works more consistant for me (and it connects a lot faster). What can I do?

Upgraded Software update - now cable doesn't work!

I went to use the software update today when I was connected to me PC. It told me there was an update to the software and to remove my phone and USB connection while it downloaded and installed. I did this and went through the update which apprently worked fine but needed to also install a cable driver update, did this as advised then tried to reconnect my phone but the PC just doesn't see it anymore.

April 07 - just got an E65 - not too bad so far.

Just my luck!! Fortunatey its not too big a problem as I have damaged my phone prior to this and am awaiting a replacement from the insurance people. I was updating to see what the update offered and if it sorted some of the issues I have with it as it stands. As for "dont fix it if it aint broke" I have never had this phone working in the way that it should. the N73 has been a big dissopointment and now I hear that it has been discontinued, no surprises there!
It disgusts me that companies like Nokia release software before it has been fully tested just because its cheaper to let the paying public do the tests and give them a greater spectrum of results. Souns to me like they're basing their business strategy on Microsoft.

Hi I have downloaded several times the new update for Flash Player and every time I go on to watch iPlayer it still asks to download the software. I have done the instructions about 6 times now and its really annoying! Its a Mac laptop - can anyone help???

Yes I downloaded it and installed it. I have also uninstalled Flash Player and reinstalled it and yet it still doesn't recognise it.

Automatic Update for podcasts doesn't work

The hardware/software:
iPod Classic, updated to the very latest version of the software.
iTunes, also updated to the most recent version.
Mountain Lion.
17" MacBook Pro.
I subscribe to quite a few podcasts (>50). Until recently, iTunes would automatically update them--check for new episodes and download them--automatically once every hour. Since I updated something--whether it be iTunes, MacOS, or something else--this automatic check simply doesn't happen.
If I go into iTunes under Podcasts, there is a "Settings..." button at the bottom. I click this and this is what it says:
Check for new episodes: EVERY HOUR
Settings for: PODCAST DEFAULTS
[checked] Use Default Settings
When new episodes are available: DOWNLOAD ALL
Episodes to keep: ALL UNPLAYED EPISODES
So it should, every hour, get all new episodes, download them, and quietly delete played episodes (I allow auto-delete).
It doesn't. I have sat and watched it. Nothing at all tries to update. So I end up manually updating--clicking the "Refresh" button--a lot.
I have spot-checked most of my subscribed podcasts, and each of them has the "Use default settings" checkbox checked, and every single one has "Every hour" selected.
(As a secondary issue: If I go in and set a single podcast to not update or to update less frequently, it resets the default to whatever I set for that podcast. This can't be right, can it?)
Any ideas? Have I missed a crucial setting somewhere? Is this a known bug?

Use JL_Cmder utility to wipe your device memory and restore factory settings.

Tab 2 with latest updates = Square Register doesn't work

I have just bought a Tab 2 A 10-70 and installed the latest updates for Lollipop. When I try to swipe a card on Register it doesn't allow it. It states an error, Unable to Swipe, for the card swipe, and closes Register, but also says I need to uninstall and reinstall Register. I have attempted this many times on other devices, Samsung S4 and S6, and they work with no problems. I have also tried swiping on the Tab 2 with my eyes closed and nothing. Is there anyway I can get this to function properly?

I think I have this figured out. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab A at Target for $50 more. It has better software and I know it will work with Square and PayPal. I'm returning this tablet, as the support for these devices is far from acceptable. I base that on the numerous replies I've received so far, and the issues other users are having with this tablet, as it was sold and upgraded with a ton of un-tested features with unresolved bugs. WWAN Support Update 1.0 doesn't work with Merlin XU870 in Europe

I'm using the Merlin UX870 card in The Netherlands and abroad with the Vodafone network. All worked fine until I installed this update. Now the menu bar icons flash on and off when the card is inserted:

Certainly something is wrong here if you want to use this card with a different network than Cingular network... A warning would be very nice...!

Satellite L300-26K - After BIOS update the touchpad doesn't work anymore

Hi,
like recommended by tempro, I updated BIOS from ver.2.1 to 2.2 (windows-Version). After rebooting, touchpad incl. tips doesnt work anymore. In bios touchpad is enabled, in system it says unit is working properly. FN/F9 makes no effect. Reinstalling synaptics drivers - no effect - still dead.

How can I restore BIOS to 2.1 again? (if i try the windows-bios utility from V2.1 it says it is still installed - so I cannot downgrade by this easy way)
Please help - I need my notebook without external mouse (this works)

I cant imagine that this happened due the BIOS update. Have you tried reinstalling Windows by using Toshiba recovery disk?
This BIOS downgrade can only be done from an authorized service provider. The technicians can install every version because they have such special tools to make a downgrade.
On the Toshiba website you can find a list of them. Just give the guys and ask for that. They will help you! :)
