BC 4.8 Migration for SAP e-filing

Hello,
We are planning to upgrade existing BC 4.7 to BC 4.8 on new hardware. I am bit concerened about SAP e-filing package for GB customer, How will it function when upgraded to BC 4.8. My basic queries are
1. Is any newer release of BC Application Package for e-Filing from the Payroll GB customer?
2. Is existing BC Application Package for "e Filing: 46C and above" fully compitable with BC 4.8. if yes, Is there any change required.
3. We can transfer the complete packages and transaction data to new BC 4.8, do we still have to re-configure the setting for e-filing after setting up new BC 4.8 on new hardware.
4. Has any coustomer migrated to BC 4.8 in UK/Ireland?
5. Can testing of the above scenorio is possible in Project Test landscape. If yes, is there test environment is available.
Regards,
Rajesh

Hello,
I have no experience with that e-filing package. Best way is to install a test BC 4.8 environment and then test the functionality. Only that will give you certainty about your questions. But some hints:
about 2) if that package is not using undocumented service calls (which may have been removed in 4.8 because not part of the public interface), there should be no problem.
about 3) the package configuration normally is stored under the package folder itself, that means that configuration will be transferred automatically as well. So the answer depends on where the e-file package configuration is stored, please check

  • Hardware Migration for sap R/3 4.7 Ext 200

    Hi all
    We are Upgrading our SAP R/3 4.7 Ext200 SR1 nonunicode oracle 9.2.0.8 to ECC6 EHP5 Unicode 11.2.0.2.
    But first we need to migrate our hardware.(i.e we are shifting the data from our old server to new server).
    We will install R/3 4.7 on new sever with oracle 10.2.0.4 and restore database backup from old server oracle 9 to new server oracle 10 .Now i need to know apart from following activities what else i need to consider.
    instance profile parameter (ST02). we will give the same parameter value to  new servers instance profile
    Background Jobs(db13) we will schedule same if DB SID is changed or if we give same DB SID than no need to schedule again
    System logical name (BD54)
    RFC connections (SM59)
    se06,STMS
    We have done all above in two testing Servers.
    Kindly guide me if any other activity is required.
    Kindly support

    It depends on your landscape as well, apart from common system copy steps.
    For e.g. in Production you might be having various interfaces etc. So, you will have to take care of those too.
    Similarly try to extract something related to your landscape so that you don't miss anything, for e.g. registration of new servers into 'mail server' for SMTP/SCOT configuration, printer configuration if host/OS printer drivers/queues are needed etc.

    Hi..
    Have you tried enhancing the GET_V method of the std. field ?
    try this code:
    DATA: ls_map TYPE if_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr=>gtype_param_mapping,
    lt_inmap TYPE if_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr=>gtype_param_mapping_tab,
    lt_outmap TYPE if_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr=>gtype_param_mapping_tab.
    CREATE OBJECT rv_valuehelp_descriptor
    TYPE
    cl_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr
    EXPORTING
    iv_help_id = 'class_name'
    iv_help_id_kind = if_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr=>help_id_kind_callback
    iv_input_mapping = lt_inmap
    iv_output_mapping = lt_outmap
    iv_trigger_submit = abap_true.
    class_name is the class that you need to create which would implement the interface method retrieve_custom_values of interface IF_BSP_WD_CUSTOM_F4_CALLBACK where you write the code for retrieving the F4 help values.This is helpful in providing customized result set.
    U can also search for std. value help views/std. search helps for BP in transaction se11 and pass it as param iv_help_id instead of classname .
    Hope this may help you...

  • Domain Functionalities for SAP Applications

    Hi All,
    I have 2 questions:
    1) what are the benefits from joining SAP Applications to domain ( on operating system level)
    2) I have SAP Applications that are installed on Linux and the domain is windows 2003, is it useful to add them to the domain or we have to change it to Linux domain
    Regards,
    Nadia

    > Can you explain in a more detailed level.
    Explain what?
    A Windows domain authenticates users centrally and provides services (such as print services) that can only be used by members of the domain. That's why a SAP installation should be done in a domain if you want to use those services.
    > Is the domain usage necessary in the production system or not?
    As of Windows 2008 only domain installations are supported, standalone installations are deprecated.
    Be aware of the following:
    You can not such put the server in a domain if the system is already installed. You will need to do a homogeneous system copy to do so because the complete environment of the installation changes.
    See Note 1233320 - Domain migration for SAP system

  • RDS for SAP data migration through IDOC's

    Dear Experts
      Just now we have installed BODS 4.1 and RDS also installed now. I am in the process of exploring the RDS. I found all the migration objects is available in the form of IDOC's. Now my questions are
    How to work on custom IDOC's. Do i need to extensively code on R/3 side to upload the custom fields. Like user exit or BADI for custom fileds
    If yes then i would say implementation time through RDS will remain more or less same time.
    Through BODS or by RDS migration objects is there any way without coding on ABAP R/3 side, Can we achieve migrating custom fields
      Please let me how to achieve above requirements by RDS
    Thanks
    Vijay Mukunthan

    Hi Vijay,
    You are right, the standard content of the Rapid Data Migration RDS packages brings the content with the standard IDoc interface for SAP standard only. So custom objects are not pre-built with the package. However, we incorporated the foundation to include custom coding as easy as possible:
    1) IDoc
    We are using the standard interface technology IDoc. IDocs do have an enhancement concept which is described in the online help. There are three main cases and all of them are supported, however two need additional coding:
    Z-fields: Additional fields in existing tables lead to IDoc segment extensions
    With the IDoc segment versioning concept this is easy to realize without any ABAP coding
    Z-tables: Additional IDoc segments will be necessary and lead to a new IDoc version
    With the IDoc versioning concept you can easily add Z-segments with leveraging provided user exits
    Custom business objects:
    You can even create a complete own IDoc message type in Z-namespace for own stuff, leveraging the given ALE layer of the IDoc middleware
    2) Enhancement guide
    With the RDS package we offer an enhancement guide which helps you to modify the jobs and data flows in the SAP Data Services content according to the changes in the target IDoc structure to reflect additional fields and tables. We built it as a step-by-step guide following for a sample IDoc type but will work similarly for any IDoc.
    Best regards,
    Frank Densborn.

  • Migration of "CRONACLE for SAP solutions" to "SAP CPS for Netweaver"

    Hi,
    We have standalone  Cronacle/CPS 6.02.  We are in the process of researching about migrating to  "SAP CPS for Netweaver"  like SAP CPS M33. We have the following questions.
    1)Is a migration path available to migrate from "CRONACLE for SAP solutions" to "SAP CPS for Netweaver" ?.
    2)What are the benefits of going to "SAP CPS for Netweaver" ?.
    3)Is the migration can be done by ourselves or any SAP migration consultant is required?.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Raj.

    Hi Laurence, Raj,
    This question is very old and I had not seen it before.
    To upgrade from CPS 6.0.2 or 7.0.4 to 8.0.0 (aka M33). I do not know if SAP consultancy offers anything for this, you want to check with them. SAP might refer you to Redwood, though.
    As for the differences, where do I start ... ;-)
    Actually, CPS 8 is a major platform shift. Version 6 and 7 were PL/SQL-based solutions, version 8 is Java-based. You have many more possibilities built-in, such as better XBP 3.0 support, web services, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP PI/XI control, ... the list could go on forever.
    Some older platforms (very, very old) are no longer supported, afaik, but you get native z/OS (mainframe) platform agents, AS/400 agents ... the user interface is platform independent, so you can access it from any OS including, but not limited to, Windows, Unix, Linux, and Mac OS X. There is even an iPhone/iPad client.
    BTW, I do not know how long version 6 and 7 are supported.
    The platform shift means that you might have to use a PL/SQL API in version 8. I guess it depends on how much PL/SQL you use. If most of your jobs are SAP and OS jobs, you would not even need that.

    HP

  • Migrating an SAP 4.7x110 system on W2003 32-bit to a 64-bit host (x86_64)

    We want to migrate an SAP 4.7x110 system on Windows Server 2003 32-bit to a 64-bit host (x86_64). Afterwards we want to upgrade the system to ECC 6.0.
    According to PAM, 4.7x110 is not supported on Windows 64-bit.
    According to note 960769,
    "After the migration to the 64-bit hardware, your SAP system may have a status that is not supported by SAP for productive use (see Note 814834). You may need to upgrade to a new SAP release. In this exceptional circumstance, SAP offers support for the duration of the upgrade.  Note that SAP does not support a longer, more productive use of such a system for the period after the migration and before the upgrade....
    ...We generally recommend to use SQL Server 2005 (64-bit) for the productive use on x86_64. However, the 32-bit operation of SQL Server 2000 on Windows x86_64 64-Bit (supported by Microsoft) is also supported by SAP...
    ...The following table illustrates which OS/DB combination supports each SAP release in the target system.
    Source System   Target System (Kernel, DB Software)     Support Comment
    3.1I   3.1I 32-bit, MSSQL 2000 32-bit    only for upgrade (a,c)
    4.0B   4.0B 32-bit, MSSQL 2000 32-bit    only for upgrade (c)
    4.5B    4.5B 32-bit, MSSQL 2000 32-bit    only for upgrade (c)
    4.6C   4.6D 32-bit, MSSQL 2005 64-bit     productive (b)
    620   640 64-bit,  MSSQL 2005 64-bit    productive (b)
    640   640 64-bit,  MSSQL 2005 64-bit    productive (b)
    700   700 64-bit,  MSSQL 2005 64-bit    productive (b) "
    According to note 814834,
    "SAP supports the x86_64 platform on Windows 2003 Server SP1 x64 for kernel 4.6D and kernel 6.40 and higher. ... For product versions based on kernel 6.40 and higher, only 64-bit operation is supported."
    According to note 905634, about SQL Server 2005 support (where a mention to R3E 4.7 x110 is missing)
    "Supported SAP products based on SAP_BASIS 6.20 and SAP_BASIS 6.40
    Product Windows platforms
    BW 3.10 x86, IA-64
    SCM 4.0 x86, IA-64

    According to all this information, may I move our 4.7x110 system onto a Windows Server 2003 SP1 64-bit, SQL Server 2005 64-bit, and after that we would upgrade to ECC 6.0?

    Sorry, I forgot posting the SAP answer, which is also "Yes":

    Dear Eva,
    Yes, you can move to the 64 bit platform with SQL Server 2005 according
    to note 960769.
    Information in note 905634 means there is no installation DVD for
    release 47x110 for SQL Server 2005. So it is not possible to do a fresh
    installation of 47x110 except if you follow the workaround of note

  • How to implement for sap system use HADR

    hi expert ,
           i am a newbie to sap basis, we have a requirement that do HA for our sap using HADR,i want know if there are some good sulotion for my scenario。
       our scenaro is we have two window 2008 sever host,one host  has a sap system and we want the sap db2 database as a primary,and the other host also has a same the system which is restore from the previous sap system which we implement by system copy using database restore not migration。i want know as our secanrio could i achive SAP application HA by HADR,if we donu2018t have  HA  software  like MSCS。whether we must manual monitor the primary sap   when it stop because any issue like hardware failed and then manual start the other sap system in the other host?
      our two sap system have different sap profile beacause the hostname are different.
    our aim is when one of our host can't use we can immediate start the other sap system in the other host, the less the change the better the solution .
    is it possible?
    thanx very much,
    best regards.

    hi paul ,
        thanx for your information,i have already read the inforamtion about sg247363 once-over and SAMP。 but unfortunately we have a different situation,we only have two windows servers and must installed windows server 2008 OS because some reasons。we also don't have have other host to install sap。as this situation,how could we implement HA beacuse we also don't have shared disk。the window server are isolation。
    i  also read some pdf which download from sdn , in the book the HA is  implemneted as the sap application has a separate host and has two host for DB2 database using HADR,the HA is rely the cluster software 。in this situation the sap application also need HA to avoid single point failure。
        as the limited i have said above, is it possible to do HA by MSCS ,can any body tell me if the MSCS is free to install in OS windows 2008? if we can't use it  free,have any other solution?in the worst , we must manual monitor the application and when a sap application or database can't work ,we want to restart the other sap which in the other host,we need the database synchronization between two database which using HADR。is it possible ?if it do, whether there are some additional setup for sap application because the two sap application have different sap profile name(a sap is a system copy from the other by database restore)。
        any reply will be appreciated。

    hi,
    You can delimit the positions llike,

    Object ID       50018201     Director - Enterprise Bus
    Object abbr.    S 50018201

    Planning status 1    Active
    Validity        06/11/2008  to     12/31/9999
