BC_BC_XMB files in global

Hello,
My system is a BI system.
We have BC_BC_XMB_xxxxxxxx.ARCHIVE files in /usr/sap/SID/SYS/global directory going back to Dec 15 2010.The below jobs are already running successfully in SAP system
SAP_BC_XMB_ARCHIVE100
SAP_BC_XMB_DELETE_100
SAP_BC_XMB_HIST_DELETE_100
Is there a job that wil clear these files from disk on periodic basis and if i can mention somewhere the retention period for these files BC_BC_XMB_xxxxxxxx.ARCHIVE present in /usr/sap/SID/SYS/global/
I know we can maintain retention period in sxmb_adm under Define Interfaces for Archiving and Retention Periods but that I believe is for the period for which the messages should be retained in database before they are archived or deleted.
I want for the archived files BC_BC_XMB_xxxxxxxx.ARCHIVE present in /usr/sap/SID/SYS/global/
Thanks
Nicky

Is there a job that wil clear these files from disk on periodic basis
You need a permanent repository in order to remove them from the global directory... You may use a HTTP content repository as a SAP Content Server or a filesystem repository is up to you.

    Hi Escapermark,
Have a look at these knowledge base articles, the first one should fix the gray out problem:

  • How to copy file from global zone to non-global zone?

    Hi,
    I'm new in zone.
I have installed a zone and I would like to install some programs.
Could you please tell me how to copy downloaded file from internet to the new installed zone?
    Kind regards,

I like to use zcp which came from BigAdmin I believe.

  • Upload file to global directory in Dev, Q&A and Prod!

I have an upload application in BSP, that uploads files to for example /usr/sap/BWD/files
this works in Development, but of course this directory is not available in Production, so BSP won't work there.
Isn't it possible to use one global directory?
Right now somebody created for us a directory, that's the same on all 3 systems (Dev, Q, and Production)
    this dir is
    on Development:  DIR_TRANS     /usr/sap/transBW
    on Quality:  DIR_TRANS     /usr/sap/transBW
    on Production:  DIR_TRANS     /usr/sap/trans
notice the small difference in path in Production... Is there a way to use the DIR_TRANS instead of the real path?
my application writes data like this:
    fname = '/usr/sap/CBD/files/FILE.CSV'.
OPEN DATASET fname FOR OUTPUT in TEXT MODE encoding default.
    if sy-subrc gt 0.
    WRITE: / 'Error opening file'.
    endif.
    LOOP AT data_TAB INTO LIN.
    TRANSFER LIN TO FNAME.
    ENDLOOP.
    CLOSE DATASET FNAME.
thanks a lot, points will be rewarded for usefull answers!
    thanks!

  • FrameMaker 8 (Unstructured) - How to Find/Change "Referenced File" location globally?

    Hello,
First off, I have a FrameMaker 8 (Unstructured) book that links ALL of its graphics, to a separate graphics folder on my network drive.
With that said, I am hoping to do the following:
    1. Create a mirror copy of "Book A" and place that copy in another folder, (at the same level) on my network drive.
    2. Open up the new book file (e.g. Book B).
    3. Run a Find/Change to replace:
    ..\..\..\Graphics Catalog A\Graphics\a000123.png
    ..\..\..\Graphics Catalog B\Graphics\b000123.png
The end result is that I could globally map out all the "Referenced Files" to the new folder path structure. This will allow me to save from having to manually re-import each of the 1000 graphics - into my book files.
Finally, I am hoping to do this with the built in capabilities of FrameMaker 8 first. If that is not possible, then I will consider other possibilities.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
    Regards,
    Jim

This is how you do it:
Outside of FM, copy the "Book A" folder and paste it where you want.
Also, create the Graphics folder and file structure (i.e.
    "... Graphics Catalog B\Graphics ...")
Before you open Book B in FM, temporarily rename the graphics
folder that the FM files in Book A uses, e.g. "Graphics Catalog Z".
Now, when you open the files in Book B, FM won't be able to find
the old graphics since the folder name has changed. For each file,
FM will open the "Missing graphics" dialog, where you need to
browse to the new graphics folder, e.g. "Graphics Catalog B\Graphics".
Select the correct file that FM asks for, and tick the option to
use this folder for all remaining graphics.
If all the image file names are identical, you will only need to
do this once per FM file. If you really need the image file names
    to differ like you said:
    > ..\..\..\Graphics Catalog A\Graphics\a000123.png
    > ..\..\..\Graphics Catalog B\Graphics\b000123.png
then you need to select the correct file name for *each* graphics
that FM cannot find. This is a good reason to keep the file names
identical, even though the folder name has changed.
When all the files have opened, rename the original graphics folder
    back to "Graphics Catalog A".

  • File ownership - global / zone1

I created a bunch of users on my machine's global zone so others in my group could try out creating zones from scratch. They ssh in as themselves then su to root and do the install. One of the global users (Guser1) had a UID of 137.
    Inside zone1 I have a user (Zuser1) with UID 137.
When Zuser1 scp's a file into his dir (/opt/home/Zuser1) inside zone1 it shows him as the owner.
From the global side however there is /zone/1/root/opt/home/Zuser1 and in it the file shows owner as Guser1.
I thought that the zones were completely isolated?
Anyway this is really a cool product. I've had the VMware ESX I & II courses and this is 10 times easier to install and setup. Real smooth. Kudos!

Zones are isolated...but in the global zone the uids will be mapped by the global setup, not by the setup from within the zone.
For example, if you create a user "jim" with uid 200 in a zone and have a user named "bob" with uid 200 in the global zone. Then doing an "ls" from the global zone on files created by jim in the zone would show the files belonging to "bob" rather than "jim"
Hope that makes sense...it did when it was in my head!
I'm using NIS to get around this, so users have the same name/uid etc regardless of which machine they're logged into.

    Hello,
After looking at the file names, I don't think these are generated by either SAP standard program or transaction/jobs. Looks like some functional programs or jobs are generating these files.
Please check with your client or functional teams.

  • Sharing Files Between 3 Arch Computers Using SAMBA [SOLVED]

I am trying to network 3 of my computers together.  They are all running Arch 64.  I setup the smb.conf file according to various tutorials and then the folders show up on the other computers, but when you double click them (using Gnome 3) it gives an error "unable to mount location, failed to mount windows share"
I know this has to be some permission issue but I have spent hours on this and am hitting a brick wall.  Here is my smb.conf file.

  • ITunes can't find my files.  To manually locate each would take days

I have spent about 4 hours searching these discussion areas but could not find a solution.
I have twice before lost all my metadata (ratings, playlists, etc.) when moving my music files around (from my laptop to an external drive, then back on my laptop). For a new job, I got a new Windows laptop and, unfortunately, couldn't figure all this out before turning in the old laptop so it appears as if I've lost all the metadata again.
I saved the iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml files and songs from my old laptop. I downloaded the new iTunes software and imported all my song files successfully onto my new laptop. I then replaced those two (new) iTunes files with my old ones and, while iTunes did find my playlists, ratings, etc., now iTunes cannot locate all my songs! All the songs get an exclamation point next to them and when I click on a song, I get the following error: "The song xxx could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to try to locate it?" I can do that manually but it would take forever.
Help!?! I don't want to start all over again.

    Stratsy,
All may not be lost yet....
I does look like you may have difficulty replicating the original path of the files, but it could be worth a shot.
Another option is to hack into the ITL file (it's a binary file) and globally change all the hardcoded paths to what you have now. Not sure how this would be done, though. Otto42 may have some advice on this.
Yet another option is to use the XML file to Import the Playlists and some other metadata. The playlists can be created easily, but the Ratings, Play Counts and Last Played do not Import from an XML file even though they are contained in it. For this we'll need to use Otto's 'SaveRatings' script and create the necessary XML file from the one you have now.
    Here's the 'normal’ instructions:
“Download this: http://ottodestruct.com/itunes/SaveRatings.zip . It's a program, just run it like any other program. Run it on the machine where you're copying the info from BEFORE you move the files to the new machine. Click the "Save Ratings" button and it'll create a ratings.xml file. Now when you move the files, move the program and this file as well. Then after you make your new iTunes library, run it again and click the "Restore Ratings" button. Voila, all your information is back in the Library. Well, most of it anyway, it's not perfect. It'll tell you what songs it couldn't figure out though, and there's usually not very many.”
You'll need to run a test sample to create a dummy XML file. From that, you can see how the layout is constructed. Then manipulate your current XML file to look the same.
    Here's the high-level steps:
    - Keep copies of the two original XML & ITL files
    - Erase your iTunes Library references
    - File=>Add Folder and add all the music from its new location
    - Put some 'dummy' ratings in a few songs and play a few others
    - Run Otto's SaveRatings script to create a test file
    - Create a similar file from the original XML file you have with the real metadata
    - Run Otto's SaveRatings script and drive the metadata back into your Library
    - File=>Import the original XML file into the Library to recover your previous Playlists
That should get you back as good as possible. Maybe I can get Otto to stop by and throw out some additional ideas.
You always have the alternative of purchasing a robust recovery program to capture the Playlists and metadata from the iPod (if it is complete). See: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1487421#1487421

  • Quicktime error -43: File could not be found.

I'm working on a windows computer in on a disk connected to a mac. The mac has the latest leopard on it and has a disk connected which is Mac osx extended formatted.
Strange problem that I have is that I can't open quicktime files that are in a directory that has more then 8 characters. I get the -43 error.
If I copy the same file to another directory with less then 8 characters it plays perfectly. If the filename itself is longer then 8 characters it's playable to.
Does anyone has any idea what is cousing this problem, before we used leopard I never had this problem.

Ok figured it out. Seems that there's something wrong with the SMB protocol.
If you have the same problem? Go to the MAC with the harddisk connected.
be sure to be root users and have hidden files on. Edit the /etc/smb.conf file.
under [global] insert the line "mangled names = no".
That's it! Shame on you Apple for not fixing this in a patch.

    Hi,
I want to print sample output XML file.

An output file can be generated via the Preview functionality available under the XML Publisher Administrator responsibility. Navigation path :
    1. Login to the application as SYSADMIN

    6. Save the PDF to the client PC
    7. Determine the version either by the above instructions OR by provide the PDF file to Global Customer Support. But in #4 I can not populate any values to search, even if I put all %.
How can I get a valid search?
    Thanks a lot,
    Ms K

    Hi;
AFAIK if you prepare template in XML publisher than you can take output as pdf, by the way you can take xml output too
    Please check user guide:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/docs/XMLP5.6.1UserGuide.pdf
Oracle XML Publisher and Oracle Reports

    Also Please check below thread:

  • Building array and writing to multiple files

    Greetings,
I have a VI wherein, I am collecting data from 3 channels (using Global Virtual Channels with scaling). I am collecting 100 samples at a time with sampling frequency of 1000 Hz. I am then taking average and st. dev of 100 data points/channel and write it to a file (‘*.dat’). I would like to limit the file size to 1000 entries, and so after that limit is reached I would like to create a new file and write the subsequent set of data to the next file and so on. I am doing this in a case structure, wherein I build an array of the values until the condition of file limit is reached and then I write that array to a ‘*.dat’ file. (I’m hoping that this logic is correct, if not please suggest the correct method)
I am also taking average and st. dev of data/channel over period of 1 sec and write it to another ‘*.sum’ file. The VI has other features like writing time stamp to file, stopping the VI after preset time limit is reached or certain safety limit is reached.
When I run the VI, I get an error message:
Error 7 occurred at Open/Create/Replace File in Global Channel with Multiple file Write.vi
    Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW:  File not found. The file might have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the operating system. For example, use \ as path separators on Windows, : on Mac OS X, and / on Linux. Verify that the path is correct using the command prompt or file explorer.
    =========================
    NI-488:  Nonexistent GPIB interface.
I have indicated the location of the error in the attached picture, as well as I’m attaching the VI.
I would really appreciate if someone would tell me what is causing the error and how to fix it.
    Thanks,
    Dinesh

Global Channel with Multiple file Write.vi ‏515 KB

I did try that but it does not solve the problem. I think I'm missing something while building the array in the Case Structure. I would like to write the average & st. dev values/channel in an array while the loop coount < file limit, and once the file limit is reached write that array to a *.dat file. And keep repeating this procedure till the target time is reached.
Another issue that I discovered is that TestFile_1.dat is not generted, after TestFile_0.dat TestFile_2.dat gets generated. I'm not sure why this is happening.
I would really appreciate if you would take another look and suggest some debugging tips.
    Thanks.
P.S. I am attaching the updated VI

  • Global headers

Please help me in finding the xml file for global headers in OBIEE 11g.

    Sneha,
global header means headers and footers or labelling....be clear in your question.
If your concerened with portal header name or the XML to change fr adding headers or footers the path is
    <MW_HOME>\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\msgdb\l_en\messages\
you can create custom messages also....but before changing original take a backup of it,if you change orginal it would disturb other features
ther are many files in it,depends on what you want to change tag of BI or etc etc
    Hope it answers your question.

  • Problem using Host command to call a batch file

    Hi all,
I am trying to call a batch file with the Host command:
    host c:\test\u.bat
    where u.bat calls unix2dos.exe with a parameter of d_unix.txt.
    Bat file looks like this:
    C:\test\unix2dos.exe d_unix.txt
    PAUSE
The bat file gets called fine, but the following error occurs (in the cmd prompt):
    T:\globals\ORACLE8\bin>C:\test\unix2dos.exe d_unix.txt
    d_unix.txt:
    Can't open file
    T:\globals\ORACLE8\bin>PAUSE
Press any key to continue . . .
Running the batch file directly in windows works fine. The batch file also runs fine from the Host command if I remove the d_unix.txt parameter.
The file d_unix.txt file is in the same directory as the batch file and as unix2dos.exe.
Running from Sql Plus in a windows environment.
    Any thoughts?
