I have not used it so frequently. Suppose you have done customizing in one client. Now to export all your customization to another client, you have to prepare BC sets. These BC sets then can be imported when you try to do customization in another client. This will save your valuable time and you don't have to do whole customization again.
(Plant dependent data etc could be different so, then it can be corrected by copying to a notepad,and then correct the data there and import to new client.)
You can prepare your BC sets your scenario wise also so that same scenario could be copied.
Just wait for other people to get better underatanding....

hi,
I have a cloud business app connected to sharepoint online,
on certain actions i create a document set in a sharepoint library , the document set i use has a shared column set - i would like to set this value at creation time or just after creation so that any documents added inherit the value.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to update the shared column on document set creation.
I suggest you create a workflow to do it.
You can create the workflow as the below:
For the workflow Start Options, select “Start workflow automatically when an item is created”.
After the above, publish the workflow.

Hi,
Customizing settings can be collected by processes into Business Configuration Sets (BC Sets). BC Sets make Customizing more transparent by documenting and analyzing the Customizing settings. They can also be used for a group rollout, where the customizing settings are bundled by the group headquarters and passed on in a structured way to its subsidiaries.
BC Sets are provided by SAP for selected industry sectors, and customers can also create their own.
When a BC Set is created, values and combinations of values are copied from the original Customizing tables into the BC Set and can be copied into in the tables, views and view clusters in the customer system. The BC Sets are always transported into the customer system in which Customizing is performed.
Advantages of using BC Sets:
1.     Efficient group rollout.
2.     Industry sector systems are easier to create and maintain.
3.     Customizing can be performed at a business level.
4.     Change Management is quicker and safer.
5.     Upgrade is simpler.
To create BC sets follow the below step:
Choose Tools ® Customizing ® Business Configuration Sets® Maintenance in the SAP
menu, or enter the transaction code SCPR3 in the command field.
Choose Bus.Conf.Set ® Create.

Also used GS01,GS02 and GS03 for maintaining Set Ids.
To view Set ID view standard SAP report from GRR3
Double Click on the Area -> Click on continue on the Pop up window
To view Table execute report for company code
Click on the area -> Go to Extras -> Go To technical Info

Templates Project Setup and Lease Management Setups don't show up during selection set creation

Hi,
I am new to iSetup.
I have just installed iSetup using the Isetup List Of Mandatory Patches For R12 (Doc ID 811040.1)
I don't find the following templates needed by my users to create selection sets:
- Projects Setup
- Lease Management Setups
Any idea why they don't show up?

It's not a backup restoration.
I'm a newbie, I installed Oracle on my computer. In the installation, Oracle allows to create a database. I didn't change any setting information, excepted set the database's password.
Oracle was successul installed.
The database setup (wizard) failed.
The listener was not created.
When the wizard step run "Creation and starting an Oracle instance", I get ORA-03113.
I don't know the log I sent to you is the good log. I'm not sure. My database name is "Essai1"
Do it is some files that I could send to you?

these sets are used in customized reports

OBIEE 11g BI Publisher; New Data Set Creation Error "Failed to load SQL"

Hi,
I'm trying to create a new SQL data set (from a client machine). I use "query builder" to build the data set. But when I click "OK", it fires the error "Failed to load SQL".
But strangely, if connect to the OBIEE server's desktop and create the data set it works without any issues. I wonder this would be a firewall issue. If so what are the ports I should open.
It's a enterprise installation. And we have already open 9703, 9704, and 9706.
Has anyone came across such a situation?

Document Set Creation in document library using REST API in Sharepoint 2013

Hi,
I want to create the document set using REST API call. Currently i am able to create the folder and able to upload the files using REST API's in the document library. Is there any way we can pass the contentype name or Id and create the document set using
REST API call. We need to create the document set along with metadata and upload the files inside the document set.
I need to create the document set along with meta data column values using REST API. Please let me know how we can achieve this through REST API.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create document set along with managed metadata fields.
The REST API does not currently support working with Managed Metadata or Taxonomy fields.
As a workaround, we can use the JavaScript Client Object Model.

Profile set creation problem..

Hi,
I was trying to create profile set..but when I select attribute list from left, I am unable to expand data source ( attribute set & attribute ) & hence unable to drag to modelling area....don't know where did i mess up...?

sorry. lemme tell you what z happening.
Everything is ok till maintaing data source for segment builder.attribute list is created with attribute set. i can see assigned attributes & these are filtered as well.basically in this section I can see my attribute set & expand these to see filtered attributes.no problem so far.
now coming to segment builder craete profile set, then camapign execution then camapign, new profile set is given a name.If i go left to attribute set & scroll to my attribute list I cannot see anything below attributes in component area. it seems nothing is being selected. i tried to save & see. no results.Obviously no drag/drop in staging area.
I know this is a very basic problem but i have nobody around me who i can sit with & sort out. I am just referring different materials & practising on my system.
If you can reply on anilbatra1athotmail.co.uk as i think i shouldn't waste everybody's precious time on such a basic operational issue.
Your prompt reply will be highly appreciated.

You want to create a BC Set via the IMG hierarchy. Decide whether you want to base the BC Set on the SAP Reference IMG or a Project IMG. In the SAP Reference IMG, you can access all IMG activities. The Project IMG and project view are selections of IMG activities.
To specify an initial IMG type choose Utilities ® User Settings. You can choose one of the following under Current IMG in the Maintenance Transaction tab:
·         SAP Reference IMG
·         Project IMG
·         Project view
The setting is retained until you choose another IMG hierarchy.
Procedure
Expand the IMG structure to the IMG activity for which you want to save data in a BC Set. Click on the IMG activity icon next to the title of the desired IMG activity.
The tables or views in the selected IMG activity are listed at the top right of the screen.
You can choose other tables with Other tables. You can remove tables which you do not need in the BC Set from the list with Delete table. The data of the table is deleted from the BC Set.
Select the table or view whose data you want to put in the BC Set.
Choose Select table/view.
The values of this table or view are shown on the tab below.
All data records of the selected table or view are displayed in the Data records tab.
The column headers are the table or view field names.
To select data:
                            a.      Select all the records which you want to put in the BC Set.
                            b.      Select fields by clicking on the column header. The column is highlighted.
Assign an attribute to the field.
The following attributes exist:
-          Default value
-          Fixed value (unchangeable)
-          Variable (Get Value)
To not put a field in the BC Set, select the column and choose the Do Not Copy pushbutton.
Attribute Default
When you create a BC Set, all fields except the key fields are selected in the Copy column and have the attribute Standard. In this case the table field value is copied without confirmation when the BC Set is activated and can be changed manually.
Attribute Fixed (unchangeable)
Assign this attribute to table fields whose values are not to be changed after activation of the BC Set. The values of these fields are copied unchanged when the BC Set is activated. This is for example the case when Customizing settings are passed unchanged to subsidiaries in a group rollout. Business settings could otherwise be accidentally overwritten when the BC Set is activated.
Attribute Variable (Get Value)
Assign this attribute to table fields whose values are to be specified by the user during activation of the BC Set.
Customers can change the values of these fields when the BC Set is activated. All fields whose value can not yet be determined when the BC Set is created should have this attribute. These are typically organizational units such as company code, plant, etc.
You can specify a name for the attributed fields in the Variable Field Texts tab, to ensure unique field assignment. If a BC Set contains, for example, five company codes for which the Name field contains the attribute Get Value at Activation, you are prompted for five rows with identical field text (name) when you activate the BC Sets You can define free texts (e.g. numbering) in the ActivationField Text column in the Variable Field Texts tab, to ensure unique assignment at activation.
You can also select data records by selection criteria. Choose Choose selectively. Enter a selection criterion in the next window, e.g. Check rule= 'AE' and confirm with Continue. The data record which satisfies the criterion is marked.
The following three steps are not necessary if you have already selected fields and assigned attributes in the Data records tab. Only select fields if you have not yet assigned attributes in the Data records tab.
Choose the Field selection, attributes tab.The Copy column is set for all table fields. This means that the data in the selected fields are to be copied into the BC Set.
Click on the fields which you do not want to copy into the BC Set.
Assign one of the above attributes to each field by clicking on the radio button in the appropriate column.
If a field in the Keycolumn and in the Copy column is marked, the value of the field is copied into the BC Set.
If a field is marked in the Key column but not in the Copy column, you are prompted for the value when the BC Set is activated, and you can change it.

No prod.order created after setting creation flag in APO

Hi all,
I'm encountering a new problem. I created a material, and some data adjacent to it (planned order, prod. order, planned ind. rep., various stocks, a routing and various BOMs) in ECC 6.0, which I successfully CIF-fed to APO 5.0.
When I modify the quantity of the prod. order in the prod.view in APO everthing works out just fine, i.e. the modification is taken over in ECC, BUT when I set the conversion flag in order to create a production order in ECC triggered from APO... absolutely nothing happens.
I get no error-message (only planning result successfully saved). When I try to remove the conv. flag again, the system says that it's not possible.
Any ideas what could be the problem?

as an add-on-information to the previously written:
if a planned order exists in R/3 and is CIF-fed afterwards the conversion works fine (i.e. the planned ord. is converted to a prod. order in R/3 and the prod.ord.number is made known to APO).
In case the production order has yet to be created, the whole process is stuck!

SAP Allocation cycle Set Creation

Hello Experts,
We are executing Planning allocation cycle in FAGLGA4b.
In allocation cycle we have created, we have given a set in Sender list.
This set is for 6 port (custom Dimension), numbers are not in range. for e.g. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
Set is for 1, 3, 5, 7 , 9, 10.
When we put one value in set say port 1, its working fine. But if we put a range or insert
Individual ports in each line item, it does not work.

1 1
3 3
5 5
7 7
9 9
10 10
Any combination is not working except single value.
Guys please help me out for this why its not working

Didn't quite understand your question. Well, the t code to create sets is GS01, if that is what you are looking for.

Set Creation

Can anyone give a fairly straightforward response ask to how to create a set without referring to SAP Help? I can read through that myself to understand how sets function, etc. but it doesn't provide too much detail on the actual t-codes, menu paths, etc. needed to create a basic set. Also bear in mind I have not used report painter / writer before either...
