My worry is not migration process.
That´s why you must have a certified migration consultant on-site to do the migration. If you do it on your own and you have problems after the migration you will loose support.
But after migration will solution manager configuration remain intact?
Yes - it will be identical.
Will configuration done in SOLMAN before migration, affect due to migration.Any pros and cons?
No - apart from a different OS and database configuration that must be taken care of during the migration.
Also Can you please suggest rough ( approx ) estimate for migration? Solution manager version 7.0 , Solaris 5.9 , oracle 10g.
It´s impossible to tell that.
It depends on lots of factors (processor number/speed, speed of I/O subsystem, database configuration...). A migration is usually done three times at least to get the optimal number of R3load processes and database configuration during the migration process.

System out of memory when exporting/migrating Solution Manager

Dear all,
since we decided to migrate our Solution Manager (win2003/sql server 2005) system to a more appropriate server, we started an export using the NW70sr2 installation master CD, the one we used to install this solution manager instance.
Everything went ok up to the Java export phase, here we caught an out of memory issue, here's the relevant part of the sapinst.dev.log file:

Actually we used a workaroud to complete the phase, ie we menually re-issued the command and changed the heap value from -Xmx512m to -Xmx1024m
Is there a way to defalut the sapinst to pass to the java export command an higher java heap value, ie -Xmx1024m ?

It sounds like you may have a corrupt render file in your 7th episode. You can set in and out points in 5 minute increments and export those segments to narrow down which clip is the offending clip. Then re-render the offending clip.

After migration of the data, is there a methodology for making sure all the data has been migrated correctly to the the Oracle Datbase.

Unfortunately this forum deals with migrations from non-Oracle
environments to Oracle. You seem to be dealing with migrations in
an Oracle environment mainly.
I would recommend that you contact Oracle Applications and RDBMS
support directly. They will have the most up to date
information/advice on performing these actions.

Solution Manger Migration

Hi All,
We would like to migrate Solution Manager 4.0 server which is on IA64(windows) Server to x64.
Is it possible to migrate Solution Manager 4.0 from IA64 system to x64 system? or do we have to migrate to IA64 only?

I'll have migrate plan from 10.1. to 10.2. on data 70G.
Old System >
OS: Redhat 3 x86_64
Oracle Version: 10.1.0.5
File Type: Ocfs version 1
New System >
OS: Redhat 4 x86_64
Oracle Version: 10.2.0.2
File Type: ASM 2
I think use export and import.

IF the Endian of your source and destination databases is the same:
Maybe you could pre-create a new, empty, 10.2 database on the destination host.
Create very small Tablespaces with SAME NAMES as source.
Create profiles & roles.
Create all Non-DBA user accounts (with permissions,passwords & quota's as required).
Delete the small tablespaces.
Use TRANSPORT TABLESPACE methodology to copy tablespaces from source DB to destination DB.( Can this step be done in 2 hours?)
Using an EXPORT from source DB of all Non-DBA schema's (rows=NO) , do an Import to destination DB(rows=no,indexes=no) to setup appropriate grants of tables/views/roles to subordinate users and roles.
(This should be a quick import as no rows are being loaded or indexes created.These will already be present from the Transported tablespace metadata import.)
If all is well on the new host, update DNS application alias, with IP of new host.
Assumption:
a) 2 hosts are involved ( you don't expect to update the OS in the same 2 hours do you?)
b) DNS aliases are used for applications, and 'host=' uses these DNS aliases in the client PC's tnsnames.ora files.

LSMW data migration porcess from the beginning

Hi gurus,
I do understand that there are 14 steps to be completed during migration, but can anyone give me a basic idea as what needs to be done prior to the above steps when starting a data migration project, as i have been only involved in the LSMW(14 steps) process before.

As an intro:
Classical data migrations are typically limited to master data and
tend to cause multiple negative impacts on workflow and oper-
ating business units.
To minimize costs, risks, and effort during a data migration and ensure a smooth changeover for operational business processs items, and better reporting
capabilities SAP recently come with a Data Migration Solution called SAP Accelerated Data Migration tool.
This advanced tool, coupled with support from the SAP Services organization and SAP partners, lets you easily migrate and integrate application data from any legacy system into SAP applications and reduce migration costs significantly.
Data migration is done in 4th phase i.e. the final preparation stage of ASAP methodology.
As far as LSMW is concerned, BDC and LSMW both are use for loading data into SAP system. The difference is ,LSMW is loading tool by SAP where you can use various methods to upload, massage data or cleansed your data while loading into SAP from legacy system. The method can be BDC, BAPI, Idocs or SAP ABAP codes. Usually in BDC the user has to write an ABAP program or use other utility to load legacy data.
LSMW has been developed mainly for the Functional people who has no knowledge of the technical aspects of report or BDC in ABAP because its very user friendly and handy to use. So, simply they can upload the master records using LSMW.

Migration issues with DataBindings.cpx Jdev 10.1.2 to 10.1.3

I have had a look at the docco for migrating between JDeveloper 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 in relation to the databindings.cpx file with no luck. Anyway, with no changes other than the migration, the deployment will fail because it cant find the databindings file:
oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25002: Definition DataBindings.cpx of type Application Definition not found
Web xml with this error:

So, i copied the bindings file to the view package which is standard for new applications created in 10.1.3 but then get this error message:

Migrating Exchange 2013 public mailboxes to a new server

We have a client that is leaving their current Hosting company and wants to move to our hosting facility. We have recreated their DC,an Exchange Hub, and Exchange Store. We have exported and imported all of their recipient mailboxes and flipped the switch
and all mail flow is now going through our hosting facility. The problem lies in that I can not figure out how to move the public mailboxes out of the old exchange server and import it into the new server. Both are Exchange 2013 and running on windows server
2012. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're looking at a third-party product. MigrationWiz does public folders. There are other cloud-based migration solutions, but I don't know whether they support public folder migrations.

Target : OS - SUSE Linux , DB - SYBASE ASE 15.7
Can we migrate using normal system copy method ( heterogeneous) using SPM toool or is there any specific procedure/ steps need to follow ?

You need to use SWPM tool and Heterogenous system copy to perform this migration.

Server migration batch domino to exchange?

We are going to migrate Lotus Notes domino server into exchange 2010 server, can anybody give some guidelines or tips……to be followed etc. propose me which is better migration solution for this.

@steve: Exactly you should prefer microsoft or ibm or any exchange forum to know more about the migration project. Anyway I am elaborating the desired need as per my experience. There is a Exchange Domino connecter provided by microsoft. Using that, you can sync both and copy the domino mailboxes into exchange but all these needs sheer expertise, numerous setting and rights. The process of domino to exchange migration can be also acomplished through email migration tools. I know an application for same migration process that is mail migration wizard. I had used it previously. It provided 4 migration option with numerous filetrs those made our migration very customized.

E-Recruiting Data Migration

Hi,
We do have to migrate several thousand of candidates data from a non-SAP E-Recruiting system (OpenHire - Stepstone) to our SAP E-Recruiting System 6.0.
Does anybody have experience what kind of preparation we have to do?

using batch input is no option at all, as e-recruiting has no sap gui screens where should batch input put the data in?
In general there is no standard interface for migrating data from an old system into an sap e-recruiting. Not even a migration PA-RC -> PA-ER is supported by SAP. There is no mass processing interface or similar function to use.
So far none of my projects as the projects of my colleagues has migrated a greater number of applicants from the old system. Applicant data is usually not judged to be worth the effort which is needed to build a customer migration solution. A few customers transfered some very important applicants / talents to the new system by hand but if they did this was pehaps some dozen of several 10-thousands. In most cases the going life is timed at a date when there is a low number of open positions or before starting a new publication round. Old applications are finished in the old system for some weeks and then the system is taken down.

Migration SU05-users to SU01-Users

Hello all, we have updated our ECC 6.0 QA system with the EHP4 update. As mentioned, in the OSS note for the EHP4 update transaction SU05 is no longer available but the note mentioned and no other notes give information on how to handle these users from this point forward. Through some posts on this site it appears that there is a function module SUSR_INTERNET_USER_MIGRATION that may be the way to migrate these users. I have also read there may need to be an internet reference user set up prior to running this migration but haven't been able to determine specifics for this user (for example, does the username have to be a specific one, what roles or profiles should the user have, etc).
Any help in this matter will be very appreciated.
