BC vs. Adobe Experience Manager
I must have been living under a rock, and missed the introduction of the "flagship" CMS Adobe Experience Manager (previously known as CQ5). A quick look at the documentation and it seems pretty cool. The admin interface looks slick, as do the many content tools and store functions.
My question is where does this leave Business Catalyst? And before someone says they are different and one is for enterprise and the other small/medium business, it's not that simple anymore. Many online businesses need to scale, and rapidly to enterprise level. For online consumers no distinction is made or recognized between such systems, other than the user experience. Pricing aside, why does Adobe have two 'very good' CMS offerings? What's the roadmap look like now for Adobe BC or Adobe Experience Manager for that matter?

Apparently it's built with HTML5 and uses javascript extensively.
Enterprise level CM aimed at very different markets. Look Ito it and it lacks a lot of features a web designer wouldn't want to see or need and too a client.

I am unable to install Adobe CS5 64 bit package created using Adobe Application Manager on Windows 7 64 bit.Basically installation rollback on Win 7 64 bit image.

I just wanted to update in case anyone in the future has a similiar experience. Too bad this advice was not offered by the "experts" here.

Guten Abend Community, erst einmal bin ich neu hier und leider auch hier, da ich ein Problem habe welches ich einfach nicht gelöst bekomme.
Ich musste mein System kommplett neu Installieren und habe anschließend Adobe Web Premium 5 Installiert was auch ohne Probleme Funktioniert, anschließend habe ich die Updates durcheführt welches auch fast ohne Probleme läuft qalle anderen Updates wurden Installiert bis auf die in der fehlermeldung. was kann ich da machen damit das nicht mehr auftritt ?
PS: Davor ging das auch problemlos, das System habe ich erst vor 3 Tagen neu Aufgesetzt.

Wenn noch fragen offen sind einfach fragen, ich würde gerne das Problem so schnell wie möglich lösen....Ja wie gesagt es hat davor auch ohne Probleme Funktioniert nur war ich gezwungen das System neu zu Installieren und ab dann konnte ich die da oben genannten Updates nicht mehr Installieren. Ein Mac ist zwar eine schöne Sache kommt aber für mich nie in Frage da ich mein PC als Arbeitsrechner und Gamer Rechner nutze und das meiste läuft halt nicht auf einen Mac und man müsste manche Programme neu Kaufen, das sehe ich überhaupt nicht ein, und meine Anwendungen werden aus Prinzipien nicht für Apple Produkte entwickelt da verdient man kaum etwas... aber das muss jeder für sich entscheiden. An eine neue Version habe ich eventuell nächstes Jahr gedacht aber auch nur die CS6 ob man das brauch ist die Frage da CS 5 genau macht was es soll. Das Modell mit der Adobe Cloud hat zwar denn Vorteil das die Programme Aktuell sind aber man muss Monatlich dafür Zahlen und CS5/CS6 oder älter brauch man nur einmal Kaufen. Darüber hinaus finde ich eh das Adobe so eine richtige S*** ist wenn es um Support ältere Programme geht so zeigt Adobe meiner Meinung nach das Ihre Produkte nichts wert sind zumindest macht es den Anschein. Aber wie gesagt, bin ich hier um Hilfe zu bekommen um das Problem zu lösen ohne ein neue Version zu kaufen, das ist ja bekanntlich die einfachste Lösung, aber wenn Informatiker auch so denken würden dann würde es sehr schlecht aussehen... und als Anmerkung am Rande, es wäre ja nett wenn man mir denn Link dieser Updates zukommen lassen könnte um die Updates Manuell zu Installieren.

Dies kann man in voraus natürlich nicht aber in nachhinein geht das und Software Entwickler denn etwas an Ihre Produkte liegt, machen das nachhinein auch und passen gegebenenfalls Ihr Produkt an.
PS: CS 2 läuft ebenfalls auf einem Windows 8.1 rechner ;-) -
Unable to Launch Photoshop CS5 (64-bit), Related to Adobe Application Manager
i am at my wits end. any help provided will be greatly appreciated.
i installed photoshop cs5 (i run windows 7 64-bit) normally after uninstalling my cs4 normally (no clean installation or whatnot) and this time i chose to exclude the 32 bit version since i wouldn't require it.
upon installation i try to launch the programme and it says that the Adobe Application Manager is required to start it, so i do a quick google and i download the Application Manager. now here's the problem.
when i try to launch the installation for the app manager all i get is a loading bar with installation initializing. this bar goes to completion but after that it just shuts on me and nothing else happens.
i have tried:
1) restarting (obviously)
2) extracting the installer to a different location
3) trying to run the clean installation procedure, but this results in further problems:
the clean install package came with instructions to install a installer cleanup utility provided by windows which is no longer being provided because of certain risks. having found that program somewhere else on the internet anyway i start it up and it gives me an error saying it can't find msizap.exe and fails to install anyway. i hence end up not having used the cleanup system at all.
solutions to either problem, the former especially will be greatly appreciated.

edit: reinstalling both 32 and 64 bit editions together results in 32 bit working and 64 bit still requiring the application manager. for the life of me i don't see why one requires it and the other doesn't.I understand that you did not choose to put Photoshop 32 bit in C:, it just went there on its own.

Adobe software is known to work better when installed on C:. I think you may be experiencing that first-hand here.
Why have you partitioned your system this way? I'm curious, what do you believe you have optimized by doing this? In my experience, partitioning your system as you have done will net you more problems than performance. Even outside of applications you install, Windows itself will continue to expand over time (search for winsxs, for example, and of course there are Windows Updates and Service Packs).
I could see perhaps using a single super-fast limited C: physical drive, with programs and other files on another physical drive with a separate controller, improving performance - but I don't believe there's any way a drive that's been partitioned as you have described is going to help performance. And you should know that Microsoft has done many things (e.g., SuperFetch) to optimize performance when set up in a more typical fashion (on one big C: partition).

Adobe application manager keeps opening and will not allow me to install creative cloud
Adobe application manager keeps opening and will not allow me to install creative cloud. I am trying to sync fonts and the install is not working. The adobe application manager will open on its own and not allow the creative cloud app to install. I do have other creative cloud products installed however the creative cloud installer icon is not appearing in my toolbar nor does creative cloud show up as an app. I get an error message that I must have creative cloud installed when I try to sync fonts via the type kit to photoshop.

as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)
I quote: ... helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite (CS3-CS6) applications. The tool removes installation records for prerelease installations of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications. It does not affect existing installations of previous versions of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications.

Sometimes the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.

Trying to load a Dreamweaver CS5 extension called Image Show Pro to mac operating system 10.9.2. Trial version worked fine, but when I try to load full version, Adobe Extension Manager crashes. I have downloaded new Extension Manager for CS5. and still crashes. Anybody else experience this? email:[email protected]

How do I open the updates window in "Adobe Application Manager"? Or can I or should I....??
I am a brand new Cloud member. I heard of the Retina update. Assuming this was where the updates would logically appear I went to the "Adobe Application Manager" app first. Without closing the "Adobe Application Manager" I opened Photoshop and went to the help menu and selected "Updates..."; a second window opened in the already open "Adobe Application Manager".
I selected update all.

Now, I closed the "Adobe Application Manager" and opened "Photoshop" again and again selected "Updates..." from the help menu. The "Adobe Application Manager" opened again with just one window this time and the updates happened correctly.
I was hoping one of the updates would be to the "Adobe Application Manager", I don't think so.
So, If I were you I wouldn't select "Updates..." from an Adobe app unless the "Adobe Application Manager" is closed until they fix it...

Creative Cloud App breaks Adobe Download Manager, doesn't install apps, now I'm unable open apps
This has been the worst cloud app experience I've ever seen.
First of all the CC app overwrites the Adobe Download Manager to the point where you'll never be able to go back to it again.
I would normally be OK with this, but the CC app doesn't work and closes itself instantly, rendering it completely useless and unable to install any of the CC apps.
After an hour and 20 minutes between being on hold, and speaking with support, I have no solution.
I'm now at a point where I have no apps installed, and I can't install any new apps because the CC app doesn't work, and the Download Manager will either a) error if CC app isn't installed, or b) open the CC app if it is installed (which doesn't work, and instantly closes).

Uninstall any Creative Cloud programs
Control Panel > Programs & Features (Windows 7)
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (XP)
Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers (Mac OS X)
Run the cleaner tool to ensure everything is removed

Reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app from https://creative.adobe.com/products
Reinstall applications
It will be a lot of work but it will probably fix it.

Updating Adobe Application Manager updates fail!
Since i updated the Adobe Application Manager to version 6.2.112.0 i experience failures when updating programms!! Everytime i get these kind of messages:

Why does the Adobe Help Manager not close?
I'm not sure what the "Adobe Help Manager" (silly name) is. I notice it as an open application in my toolbar (Windows 7) but you cannot close it. It just stays there. Only goes away when I've restarted my system. Any ideas or comments?
Generally speaking, I'd like to comment that many of the current Adobe programs (including CC) are not nearly as intuitive as they should be. One wastes quite a bit of time trying to figure out how to accomplish rather obvious functions. Usually will have to go online to find an answer. Should be more obvious and clear. The interface of CC (for uploading work files) seems a "clean" design. Yes, clean... and unintuitive.It's been weeks since I've used the file upload 'cloud' function of Creative Cloud, but I do recall I had to seek out numerous youtube videos, as well as some from Adobe's site, to try and figure out how it worked. Dragging and dropping seemed like a very obvious function, but you have to select: Actions: Download, etc. etc. It's a clunky, dispiriting interface.
So... I just started using google drive instead. I can quickly drag and drop. I work on a PC and a Mac and don't have a shared drive between them (due the usual platform issues) so I like uploading to a cloud server and transferring between the two machines that way. Very nice to compare how the two different systems are displaying an html doc or a photoshop file.
While the wind is at my back, I really like CC as to the software options, but it is a very daunting experience to consider learning new programs. It's taken me fifteen years of work to be as proficient as I am with PS (as a photographer and designer). I still find Dreamweaver very difficult and obscure in so many ways. I'm sure that's why you created Muse... but I will not take the time required to learn and new program. It's just a face. Remember in the Matrix when you would learn a huge amount of technical knowledge just by plugging into something? That's what we need (ha ha).
Now that Adobe is doing away with the distributive disc system for software programs, perhaps the next great leap is the discontinuation entirely of massive software progams themselves. Have no idea how this would happen, but I think patience is coming to an end for learning huge new software programs. Seems like such a relic of the past now.
Wish Adobe would bring designers more into how their programs work. They all seem to be designed by software engineers, and thus the truly disheartening style of the menues, opening into dozens of submenues, basements, dark vaults, etc. etc. The Adobe interfaces are all uniform now, but it's an old look that goes back almost ten years. Hope the creatives can soon lead to a new approach. -
Adobe Application Manager "There was an error downloading this update"
I have recently upgraded my PC (new motherboard, CPU, memory, etc) and have reinstalled my copy of Photoshop CS5 Extended.
I forgot to deactivate my copy prior to formatting my hard drive.
Adobe application manager is telling me that I have multiple updates pending but when I run the updater it spends 15-20 minutes doing what looks like downloading the updates then proceeds to give me an error saying:
"There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later."

I'm sure I'm missing something simple here but I cant figure it out. Is there anything I can do to get these updates to work?

2. Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"? Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

Adobe Application Manager keeps opening/closing?

Installed 6 copies of CS5.5 Design Premium this weekend on some machines in our studio. Did all the updates, etc. and everything was fine. Now, on 3 of the machines, every minute or so, the Adobe Application Manager pops up in the dock, then dissapears after a few seconds (nothing opens on-screen or anything). Anyone know what's causing this?

Updating Adobe Application Manager silently in an Enterprise, how?

We have deployed Creative Cloud CS6 on Windows 7 and now the Adobe Application Manager (PDApp) needs to be updated to work, but the remoteupdatemanager doesn't update that component. I've tried seaching for at solution on how to get it working without any result.
Any enterprise users care to share how they do it or are you having the same problem?
Currently Creative Cloud have only been a license-wise positive experience, installation-wise it's a nightmare compared to the pre-Creative Cloud days. Still trying to get CC working on Windows 8 with a cpp generated 32-bit package.

Just create a simple package with CCP and deploy it (containing any product or update). The latest Adobe Application manager will be automatically updated.

Yosemite Update now opens Adobe Application Manager
The most recent update to my iMac now has the application manager opening at the startup and will not close or get out of my dock.
Can anyone tell me how to shift it from the dock as right clicking only gives me the opportunity to "Keep in the dock"? It won't close at all either
Many thanks in advancePhill it may be that the Adobe Application Manager is attempting to update your applications? The behavior you described is not typical. I would recommend running all available uninstallers located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once your existing installations are removed you can see if you experience the same behavior.
