BCC field not appearing in Sent email

When I send an email with a BCC entry, the BCC field disappears when that email is shown in the Sent folder so I have no permanent record of who is BCC'd on that email. I cannot find a way round this.
It's only the recipients I want to keep in the dark, not me! Is there some way of requiring Mail to display the BCC field?

Alan,
This info is available in at least two ways.
1) open the message in the Sent mailbox, click on View in the menubar, place the cursor on Message, and choose Long Headers, or
2) use Mail Preferences/Viewing to choose to use Custom header view, and choose to include the Bcc header, with all messages where it is available.

  • Bcc field not displayed in sent messages

I've seen the posts regarding this and tried adding the bcc field to the headers display but it still isn't appearing on the messages in my sent folder.
I know that the bcc addresses are in fact being sent because I got a reply from one of them today. Yes, when I choose view/message/headers or view/message/raw source, only the contents of to: or cc: field appear. I also tried this with some test messages to my own addresses.
One caveat here is the account I am sending here is an exchange account.
    Any ideas?

  • On OSX 10.6.8 Mac Mail sent items do not show the Bcc field. Adjusting settings in mail/prefs/viewing/custom/bcc has no affect on Mail, ie Bcc still does not appear on sent items. Anyone got a fix?

Yet another example of Mac caring not a jot about the performance of versions of OS and software running on on older hardware. Anyone got a fix by any chance? Oh and fyi I need to see the Bcc in sent items to confirm sent email is attaching to Salesforece - when I see the Bcc I know I can delete it as a copy will be in SForce. Big thanks W.

  • Why my sent emails do not appear in Sent Folder?

why my sent emails do not appear in Sent Folder?

Are you using the Mail Ap which is apart of the Mac OS?
Are you using an Email linked to the Mail AP, I.E. Gmail, Yahoo?
I have noticed this issue with my Yahoo Account. Certain sent items will only be viewable on the device I sent the Email on. When I log in to my email from my Web Browser all sent mail is there. This is as far I know... I think there is something with Icloud in my suspicion will resolve this.

  • Mail replied to in new mailboxes is not appearing in "Sent"

New Mac user. New MacBook Pro owner. Both wise choices.
I have created 12 mailboxes separate from the main inbox. When replying to mail in the new mailboxes, my replies are not appearing in "Sent" as they do when replying to email in the main inbox.
    Thanks for considering this question.

Sent mail does not appear in sent mailbox after sending

From reports on this site, Yahoo mail doesn't work reliably with Mail. The following steps may help.
Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • Entourage 2000 - sent emails are not appearing in "sent items" folder

I am using Entourage 200 with POP account. I have the preference for "save copies of sent messages in the Sent Items folder" clicked since I install it a year ago. But a couple of days ago, all my sent emails have vanished. Even new emails I compose and sent out are not appearing in the "sent items" folder. I did hit "option" when openning the program and everything verify ok. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Since this is the Mail & Address Book - Tiger discussions/forum for Apple's Mail and Address Book applications, you probably won't get much help here with your question.
What is the size of your Entourage database file? Entourage uses a single large database to store all application data and I believe Entourage X has a 4 GB database size limit.
Does hit the option key when launching Entourage perform the database rebuild function? If not, do a search with Entourage help with "rebuild" for instructions.

  • Some SENT emails do not appear in SENT box

I have the latest Mavericks OS x operating system and fully updated. Some email I send do not appear in the SENT box. It is infuriating. I do not know whether they have reached their destination until I get a reply. Somestime I don't get a reply so where has the email gone. I have search all boxes, turned email accounts off and on, shut down my PC but still this problem persists.   I have an iPad  and a 5s iPhone and this problem does not occur with these devices so it is not account problem. I am with SKY YAHOO.   Derek

Downloading the new operating system Yosemite seems to have cleared this problem - for now !

  • GoDaddy exchange account sent emails not appearing in sent folder in Mac Mail

The problem: I set up my business email address (GoDaddy exchange account) as a new email account in Mac Mail. A few days later I noticed that sent emails were no longer appearing in my sent folder for this account.
The solution: there was a conflict with the Gmail account that I also set up in Mac Mail a few days after I set up my business email. I have deleted my gmail account from Mac Mail and so far so good - sent emails are appearing again in the Sent folder in Mac Mail.
    Note:
    - Emails sent from webmail (Office 365 Outlook) did appear in the Sent folder.
    - GoDaddy thought there was a conflict in the name of the Sent folders (called Sent Items in webmail interface), but said it was a problem Apple should solve.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Sent messages do not appear in Sent mailbox

Using a pop account, when I send a message it disappears. It does not send and it does not appear in my Sent mailbox.
I know it does not send because no one receive the email.
I have tried rebuilding the Sent mailbox.
I have tried selecting the Sent mailbox and then using the mailbox menu to set sent mail to go there, but this option cannot be selected (it's faded out) in the mailbox menu.
This is driving me to distraction...

While trying to find a solution, I am discovering my mail problem is much deeper than just messages not appearing in the "Sent" mailbox.  I have found some of them appearing in the "Trash" mailbox and some appearing there mulitple times, often with my account name in the "TO" field.  I'm also finding some unread mail there that should be in the "Junk" mailbox.  So it would appear there are many problems with ISO 7 and mail.  I have tried deleting and restablishing the account and two complete iPhone restores.  Neither helped. What is the biggest puzzle is that on my second iPhone, the one that upgraded without an error, mail is working perfectly well.  Has anyone found a solution to any mail problems on ISO 7 devices?  If so, please reply.

  • BCC'd recipents appear in sent message

When I BCC emails to a group, the BCC'd recipients are visible to all recipents of the message. How can I stop this from happening? I want the BCC'd address to remain hidden. Any ideas would be great.

To really insure that no one at all sees any of your contacts in your group, build your contacts for your group within the "Group" portion of "Address Book."
Name that group with a name that will not reveal any of your contacts.
Then Drag that "Group" to the "Bcc" field within your email composing window.
Then, follow Mr. Mulders info of making sure that the check box in front of "When sending to a group, show all member addresses" is UNCHECKED!
This works, I have used it before!
Here is a poem I created just for this purpose:
    RESPECT
    A PF ORIGINAL
Your e-mail addresses that you hold so dear,
    protect, admire and endear;
to keep away from those who would harm,
    use wrongfully or put down
in their annals of long, long lists,
so someone in secret can capture
    and pass it around
to places that would make your eyes roll.
Soon appear oddities you wonder from where,
you often wish they would all disappear.
Were you asked permission for your address to appear
    publicly on a list for all to see;
You know not so, but how could it be,
that yours was picked for the world to see.
Maybe all would be calm if this is done,
hide the address and lock it so strong
that no other can see or find - - -
    that is where it belongs.
Take heed, learn and read; all will
appreciate your care of what is theirs.
Pass this around to those who would be so thoughtful!
