Hi,
I was removing interpoll virus from my computer -- window 8.1. I went to msconfig and change the boot option to safe and network. Once I had done the system restore from advance setting option, Restarted computer but it kept booting up in safe network mode.
I looked on the internet to boot in normal mode -- I had gone to bcdedit and looked for the identifier uder bootload and execute the following command
bcdedit /delete {adb......................................} /f
Now when I restart my pc its coming up with the following msg - The Boot Configuration Data file is missing some required information
File: \Boot\BCD
Error code: 0xc0000034
Please help to recovery my system.

hi friends.
i am familiar with bcdedit but i have a problem:
i installed win2008 R2 in drive C: & then installed win7 in drive D: . then for test purposes i deleted win2008 entry from bcd using bcdedit /delete command. now system doesn't show win2008 in boot menu and directly boots into win 7.
now in win 7 i run this command bcdedit /create /d "windows 2008R2" /application osloader
but noting happens & win2008 is not added to my bcd & boot menu.
have i missed any required steps or commands ?

You can examine with
Visual BCD Editor the contents of BCD.
On left pane all existing loaders are listed (as well as all other objects in BCD).
A loader for Windows 7 / 2008R2 is shown below:
(Please note that image shows EFI loader. ApplicationPath for BIOS loader is \Windows\system32\winload.exe)
Elements that must be present:
ApplicationPath, ApplicationDevice, Description (text for boot menu), OSDevice and SystemRoot. Other elements are optional and if missing have default values - for example locale defaults to en-US.
To be shown in boot menu one additional element must contain the {GUID} of the loader - DisplayOrder element in {bootmgr} object. DisplayOrder is a list of loader IDs and make up the boot menu. (Instead of the GUID the Description of the loader is shown
to the user by boot manager when displaying boot menu).
Usually bcdboot fixes wrong loader entries.
Maybe you have to delete the partial entry for 2008R2 you have created. (click on loader and select "Delete")
Visual BCD can create loaders automatically (using F9 key) by scanning all accessible partitions and adding a loader entry if an OS found does not have a corresponding loader entry in BCD.

BCDEDIT.EXE /CREATESTORE causes error the boot configuration store could not be opened

I'm upgrading XP to Windows 7 with dual boot using an image and successfully installed on 6 other computers, the last two are failing when I issue the command:
bcdedit.exe /createstore
The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
The requested system device cannot be found.
I'm using a known good WINPE 4.0 (Windows 8) x64 USB boot environment, so most solutions that state to run elevated as an administrator do not apply.
C: is NTFS active partition, chkdsk doesn't find any errors on C:
I've updated the bootsector with the command
bootsect /nt60 c: /force /mbr
this of course disables booting into XP, but I can reboot and re-enable XP via
bootsect /nt52 c: /force /mbr
If I try a modified command
bcdedit.exe /createstore c:\BOOT\BCD
this also fails, and I've verified that the hidden system C:\BOOT folder does not exist before issuing the command
If I pre-create c:\BOOT (w/o hidden or system attributes) the command
bcdedit.exe /createstore c:\BOOT\BCD
does run successfully, but the following commands to add the Windows 7 boot entries and legacy NTLDR for XP dual boot still fail!
bcdboot.exe d:\windows /s c: /v
bcdedit.exe /create {ntldr} /d "Windows XP SP3"
bcdedit.exe /set {ntldr} device partition=C:
bcdedit.exe /set {ntldr} path \ntldr
bcdedit.exe /displayorder {ntldr} /addfirst
bcdedit.exe /default {ntldr}
bcdedit.exe /timeout 5
The two failing computers are older Dell OptiPlex 960 models, so I'm using traditional BIOS boot, EFI is not supported on these models. Hard drives are regular SATA (1 per computer), no other mass storage devices present besides DVD (empty), and hard
drives are not GPT formatted. Drives are old enough that they are regular 512 sector devices (no 512 emulation or 4K issues).

Thanks for your response Niki Han, the current status is the computers are booting correctly into the original XP SP3, since I've started them with my WINPE
4.0 x64 USB flash drive and issued the command to restore the original NTLDR boot process "bootsect /nt52 c: /force /mbr".
I also verified that there are no hidden partitions, and that there is only one active partition, C: which is a standard NTFS volume:
Partition 1
Type : 07
Hidden: No
Active: Yes
I've also verified that the BIOS is the same and the hard drive mode set in the BIOS is the autodetect RAID in both the working and non-working systems. I'll review the article you provided at

which may allow me to get these two systems dual booting. I do know that I'll need to delete the corrupted hidden system c:\Boot folder to avoid any issues.
I do want to figure out why the command
bcdedit.exe /createstore
is outputting this error on just these two systems:
The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
The requested system device cannot be found.
What exactly does bcdedit.exe do when given the /createstore command, does it create a new empty store from the exe itself, or does it copy a store from the running system? I think the key to figure this out is understanding what the error "The
requested system device cannot be found." is trying to tell us.

Should I (and can I) delete Program Files (x86) folder in Windows 7?

I installed Windows 7 32 bit over a Windows Vista 64 bit computer. I had to reinstall all applications (Office, etc.) and they were installed in the new folder 'Program files'. Can I just delete the old 'Program Files (X86)' folder? Should I do that? Thanks in advance.

It is impossible to upgrade a 64-bit operating system to a 32-bit operating system, no matter it is an OEM disk or not.
Windows 7 32-bit does not include the “Program Files (x86)” folder. Only the 64-bit operating systems have it. In this case, the 64-bie operating system is Windows Vista 64-bit.
In addition, if you performed a Clean Install for Windows 7 32-bit on the old system (Windows Vista 64-bit) partition, the old system files should be saved in C:\Windows.old folder.
So, Folk70, did you perform a Clean Install for Windows 7 32-bit on another hard disk drive? After logging into Windows 7 32-bit, then you found the “Program Files (x86)” folder in the Windows Vista 64-bit system partition?
If not, would you please upload the following information to SkyDrive and provide us the link for analyzing?

I have reinstalled Windows 10 beta twice on my test laptop. But when I install Windows 7 now it will no more boot. I will just see a black screen.
Sometimes I event can’t format the old partitions with the Windows 7 DVD. Then I have to delete all Partitions with a Paragon recovery Linux CD. I think the problem is because the Windows 10 Boot Managers?
If yes how can I get rid of them both?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Delete File From Mounted Volume

I am trying to delete the "Calendar Cache" files on both my laptop PowerBook G4 and the Mac Pro Quad that I sync my calendars with. I am using ChronoSync and the individual calendars sync fine, but there is a little house keeping needed with the cache file. They need to be deleted on both systems in order to "refresh" the views of the calendars.
So after the sync of calendars, I have the software initiating an AppleScript that deletes both. Here's the script:

MaxL does not have commands to alter an outline directly, except the reset command which can delete all dimensions but not members selectively. The best you could do would be to run a rules file (import dimensions) using a file that contains the members you want to keepload rule for the dimension. As typical the warning is to test this first before you do it on a production database

These type of Internal Errors are all too common in OWB and it's difficult to diagnose the exact problem.
I'd suggest closing the Design Centre, going back in and trying to delete it again, this will often resolve Internal errors.
There's also an article on Metalink Doc ID: 460411.1 about errors when deleting mappings but it's specific to an ACLContainer error, so may or may not be of use.
One of the suggestions is to connect as the Repository Owner rather than a User and try to delete the mapping.

Adobe cloud tries to load addon which I have deleted in Extension manager

when Adobe Cloud starts it tries to load an application (Edge FX lite) that I have deleted in Adobe Extension Manager cc. I get the error message ' unable to install the addon EdgeFX lite error 603. How do I stop this?
Also in Adobe Exchange in 'My Stuff' there are showing addons which I have removed in Adobe extension Manager cc which I would like to be removed from this listing as I will never use them, but if I right click to uninstall I fail to get rid of them.

1) Go to https://creative.adobe.com/addons/
2) In the top right hand corner select sign in and enter your Adobe ID and password
3) Once logged in, on the center of the screen at the left hand side, select the link 'All your purchases and shared items'
4) You will then be taken to a page that is the equivalent of your My Stuff panel.
5) You can then install individual add-ons/extensions.

IPhone voice memos can't be deleted

I have unchecked voice memos and eleted others from my itunes library, but they still show in Voice Memos on the iphone (when viewed from itunes. How do I get rid of them from the iphone. I think this is why I have 4GB of OTHER cluttering my iphone memory

Thanks, selecting Manually Manage allowed me to delete the errant voice memo files. Curiously, it did not delete within the general Music folder so had to dlete from there as well. I think they are gone, but saw no reduction in space used. Have to look somewhere else for that.

IPhone Deletes Exchange Emails To Wrong Folder

Hello all!
I have a Microsoft Exchange mail account setup on my iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1) which works wonderfully, short of one aspect: Emails deleted from my phone do not go to the accounts standard 'Trash' folder, but to a different 'Deleted' folder. I can see no way to change this setting. Any ideas?

When I sync my iPod to my MacBook through iTunes new events do not show up and old events are not deleted. I am using Snow Leopard and not iSync.

I am using Snow Leopard on a MacBook. I have an iPod touch 3G. I do not use iSync it Mobile Me. When I sync my iPod through iTunes new events on my iPod do not show up on my Mac and old events do not delete. I have read help instructions that include deleting the data on the iPod. The iPod has the correct data and the Mac does not so I have not followed those instructions. I need help as the only reason I bought the Mac was to be able to sync, back up, view and print my calendar. Currently it is useless. If only Apple could have learned from the elegance of the Palm software.

everytime i purchase songs on itunes and sync them to my iphone 4, the songs downloads twice. one as the actual song, and the second one doesnt do anything. when you click on it, it just skips to the next song and doesnt play anything. also this second song has this cirlce dot thing next to it when i am scrolling through my songs in my music...so how do i get rid of this second download? its really annoying to have and it wont let me delete it off my phone. alsoooo since it doesnt show up in my itunes library, i cant delte it off there either! On the springboard, locate the app you want to delete. For this example, I’ll use WeatherBug.
Tap and hold down the icon of the application you want to delete. After a few seconds your screen will start to “wiggle” and an X will appear next to each of the apps you’ve installed via the App Store.
Tap the X next to the icon of the app you want to remove. When prompted, selectDelete.
And now it’s gone.
If the application is listed in your iTunes Applications as well, you’ll want to remove it from there – or else it will re-install the next time you sync. Alternately you can keep the app in your iTunes Applications, and set iTunes not to sync all applications, just the ones you want to keep. Daughter upgraded to ios 7 and now she has like 4 songs that are not age appropriate on her iphone- I went into itunes and they dont show up...they are like hidden or something- and I cannot delete them from the phone...does anyone know why the upgrade did this and how I can get these songs off her phone- one of them is not even on my phone so I dont understand how in the world it popped onto hers! thanks!

Text delete options since software update

I've recently updated the software to 10.3.1.1565 and a new option appeared for text messaging. when i closed a message and went back to the list of text messages the delete symbol appeared next to the text for a few seconds. This was useful. Now, I have somehow (without knowing i've done it) changed the settings and instead of the delete symbol i'm getting the Reply symbol. How do i change it back to the delete symbol?

After upgrading your stock ROM you always need to do a factory data reset, if your phone doesn't do it for you. Then you can simply choose which sounds you want for the notification in the settings. You can download the Swype keyboard, or several various similar to Swype, from the Play Store. I liked Kii and used it for a long time.
