About bdc using session method
how to update mm thru mk01. please provide the source code with a flat file to be updated.
it's urgent.Well, you can go do the following steps:
1. Go to SHDB, create a new recording session for the t-code mk01.
2. Go though the t-code and create an entry and complete the transaction.
3. Once that's done, it will record everthing, save and transfer it to a program.
4. Go to the program in change mode, upload the flat file into a internal table using FM 'upload' or 'gui_upload'.
5. Use the internal table to populate further interies into the tcode.
Please go through the following link to understand the process better:

hi all,
i need to upload these transactions(MB1A, MB31,MB1A )one after the other.i have the data in flat file(excel). I need to use BDC for this. I am prefering SESSION method for this.Can any one help me to acieve this. shall i record the transactions one after the othet and keep BDC_INSERT after the perform statements. will achieve this. Help me with a sample code for thisHi Kiran,
Upload data into internal table (itab) using the below function modules.And then by using session method populate that in the BDCDATA internal table as you generally do session method.

hi,
I am using bdc by session method to update some 8000 records. After the session is completed it is showing 2400 errors, I rectified the error in the flat file. I want to know that can I run the same session or do I have to delete the sucessful records from File and run the BDC program again.Hi suchender , the commit in Session method is implicit and so the 5600 records would already be updated . Hence you will have to run the session only for the remaining records ..
Best Regards,

Bdc doubt (session method)
hi all,
i have read from many materials that using session methods we can run multiple transactions at a time
whereas using call transaction only one transaction at a
time.
so iwant to know that how we can run multiple transaction at a time.
plz clear my doubt
thanks & regards
sanjeevHi,
In session method we can call two different
trasaction by calling function
BDC_insert with two different tcodes
and they will be part of same session
bdc_open_group
CALL FUNCTION 'BDC_OPEN_GROUP'
EXPORTING
CLIENT = SY-MANDT
GROUP = WS-MAPPE
KEEP = 'X'
USER = SY-UNAME.
ws-tcode = 'VA01'.
CALL FUNCTION 'BDC_INSERT'
EXPORTING
TCODE = WS-TCODE " Transaction code
TABLES
DYNPROTAB = BDCDATA. " Transaction data
refresh bdcdata
ws-tcode = 'VA02'.
CALL FUNCTION 'BDC_INSERT'
EXPORTING
TCODE = WS-TCODE " Transaction code
TABLES
DYNPROTAB = BDCDATA. " Transaction data
where as in call trasansction we can call only one
transaction at a time
call transaction 'VA01' using bdcdata messages into
messtab.
call transaction 'VA02' using bdcdata messages into
messtab.

Bdc for po using session method
hi
i need a example bdc program for po using session pgm from excel fileHi,
The transaction for creating PO is enjoy transaction.So, bdc is not advisable for such transactions. Try to use bapis.

Regarding PO creating with condition record Using Session method
Hi All,
I am facing the following problem during po creation using BDC session method.
If there is error in any of the record in the PO upload file and if we jump to next record during batch input session, system changes data of previous correct record.
Example u2013 Consider following data
Matl code Matl Description Qty UoM Price
98652565 Floater08 EPS Insert -with sta 15000 EA 171
60890125 INSERT (PACKAGING) Wellpappe T 14000 EA 52.3
65646353 INSERT CASE PACKAGING, univers 10000 EA 56.9
98725563 Shipper-2nd-NA-Bubble TS.1850 9000 EA 213.4
Consider that record 2 (60890125) contain wrong data. If we skip this record and move to next record 65646353, system executes previous correct record (98652565) and changes net price of that record (here its 171) to 56.9. If record 3 is also wrong, it will capture price from record 4 and will put it for record 1.
If anyone know the solution, Please let me know.
Thanks in Advance.Hi Prasad,
You may not be clearing some workarea in the program while looping or while sending data to screens, clear workareas when required.
If you still face the same issue, try posting the code here, lets see, whats the problem is.

Give a simple example of BDC using Recording method
give the various steps ...
For a BDC upload you need to write a program which created BDC sessions.
Steps:
1. Work out the transaction you would use to create the data manually.
2. Use transaction SHDB to record the creation of one material master data.
Click the New recording button or the Menu - Recording - Create
3. Save the recording, and then go back a screen and go to the overview.
4. Select the recording and click on Edit - Create Program. Give the program a Z name, and select transfer from recording.
5. Edit the program. You will see that all the data you entered is hard-coded into the program. You need to make the following changes:
5.1 After the start-of-selection, Call ws_upload to upload the file (the excel file needs to be saved as TAB separated).
5.2 After the open-group, Loop on the uploaded data. For each line, perform validation checks on the data, then modify the perform bdc_field commands to use the file data.
5.3. After perform bdc_transaction, add the endloop.
Execute the program. It will have options to create a batch session or to process directly.
These are all my finds . Might be it will be useful to you.
Direct call of transactions, session handling:
/nxxxx This terminates the current transaction, and starts transaction xxxx
/n This terminates the transaction. This generally corresponds to pressing F15 to go back.
/nend This termiantes all separate sessions and logs off (corresponds to System - Logoff).
/nex This terminates all separate sessions and logs off immediately (without any warning!).
/oxxxx This opens a new session and starts transaction xxxx in This session.
/o This lists existing sessions and allows deletion or opening of a new session.
/i This terminates the current session (corresponds to System End
/i1, /i2,... This terminates the session with the number given.
.xyzw Fast path: 'xyzw' refers to the underlined letters in the menus. This type of navigation is uncommon and is provided more for emergencies (such as a defective mouse).
Batch
The following commands can be entered in correction mode ('Process in foreground' or 'Display errors only') when processing a batch input session:
/n This terminates the current batch input transaction and characterizes it as
/bdel This deletes the current batch input transaction.
/bend This terminates batch input processing and sets the session to Failed
/bda This switches from Display errors only to Process in foreground
/bde This switches from Process in foreground to Display errors only
ABAP/4
/h This switches into debugging mode.
/hs This switches into debugging mode and activates the debugging of system functions.
Buffer
WARNING: Resetting buffers can significantly change the performance of the entire system for a long time.
It should therefore only be used where there is a good reason tdso. As of release 3.0B system administator authorization is required (authorization object (S_ADMI_FCD). The action is noted in the system log.
/$SYNC This resets all buffers of the application server
/$CUA This resets the CUA buffer of the application server
/$TAB This resets the TABLE buffers of the application server
/$NAM This resets the nametab buffer of the application server
/$DYNP This resets the screen buffer of the application server
SHDB recording helps you to identify the desired screen flow. It shows details like screen sequence, screen nos, screen element names and required user command keys. This all helps while designing / coding a BDC flow for a transaction in the custom program. If you have any more questions or if you are not clear about SHDB, please check this links -
http://www.planetsap.com/Tips_and_Tricks.htm
http://www.itcserver.com/blog/2006/07/12/shdb-the-transaction-recorder/
Direct Input.
Without calling the screens but all the validations should be done and only for master datas upload.
Direct Input method:
1. Only for error free datas and also master data
updation.
2. It will directly updates the database table. No
screens involved.
3. Transaction BMVO or Program RBMVSHOW has been
used.
BDC(Batch Input Session):
1. Screens will be called programmatically.
2. First sessions will be created then we'll run the seesions in SM35 transaction.
3.Synchronous database update. After the processing the session only database update will occur.

BDC Program - Session Method For Add and Edit Data
Hi,
How to write a BDC program (For Session Method) to upload Sales Order Data (VA01) and at the same
time to modify the data if the Order exists?
Thanks
MurthyHi,
go to SHDB
Create a project and recording the Va01 and then u write the code for That recording. -
Can any body explain wth steps these two methods of uploading? and explain the difference between them?
Hi suchender , the commit in Session method is implicit and so the 5600 records would already be updated . Hence you will have to run the session only for the remaining records ..
Best Regards,
Manthan. -
BDC to run in foreground using session method.
Hi,
Can you please let me know how to run the BDC session in foreground using RSBDCSUB.
Presently i am using the following code for RSBDCSUB.
submit rsbdcsub with mappe eq gc_bdcname
with Z_VERARB EQ 'X'
with FEHLER EQ ' '
and return.
Thanks,SM35 submits the Session created to RSBDCSUB
To create session from program we use...
SUBMIT RFBIBL00 WITH DS_NAME = VA_FILE
WITH CALLMODE = CALLMODE AND RETURN.
run session.... there isnt any option to run it in foreground as far as I know, this will process it automatically, award points if found helpful
SUBMIT RSBDCSUB WITH MAPPE = P_NAME
WITH VON = SY-DATUM
WITH BIS = SY-DATUM
WITH FEHLER = ' '
TO SAP-SPOOL
LIST NAME P_NAME
LIST DATASET P_NAME
COVER TEXT P_NAME
NEW LIST IDENTIFICATION ' '
EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY
AND RETURN. -
can anyone tell me what all fields to be set to what while using the function modules
1) bdc_open_group
2)bdc_insert
3)bdc_close_group
thank uHI,
check the Include program "<b>BDCRECX1</b>" in SE38.
If contains calling of all the function you have listed.
for Example
<b>CALL FUNCTION 'BDC_OPEN_GROUP'
EXPORTING CLIENT = SY-MANDT "client
GROUP = GROUP "session name
USER = USER
KEEP = KEEP "keep session
HOLDDATE = HOLDDATE. "date
CALL FUNCTION 'BDC_INSERT'
EXPORTING TCODE = TCODE "transaction for bdc
TABLES DYNPROTAB = BDCDATA. "data
CALL FUNCTION 'BDC_CLOSE_GROUP'.</b>
