BDoc Development manual

Hi all
    I need to make some modifications to Bdoc for  SalesOrders (BUS_TRANS_MSG)
    as they post into CRM.  I can't seem to find any manuals available from SAP.
   Does anyone know of a  BDOC development manual, either by sap or by
   another author.
   A  good code example might be helpful in lieu of a manual
Thanks in advance
Chuck

Hi,

  • Development and administration methodology

    Hi,
    I am looking for information about portal development and administration methodology (How to manage the PCD, iViews, Roles, user groups, etc... ?)
    Any personal experiance tips and suggestions will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Elad.

    Hi Elad,
    I think a good start is help.sap.com. Take a look at the following URLs.
    Portal Administration Guide:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/34/76bd3b6e74d708e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/de/21/82a9058fa8de46b1ba7522289345b2/frameset.htm
    Depending on your personal strenght you can do your portal development in e.g. HTMLB jof JAVA. You'll find some infos on that here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fd/01f34026d70b06e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

    Or you can try out some Visual Composer stuff. Take a look at this URL:

    If you are more into ABAP you can of course try out the latest WebDynpro for ABAP but this works only for NW 2004s. You'll find a lot of information here on SDN. Look at the current frontpage!

  • Usage of manual tasks URLs in a third-party portal site

    Hello experts,
    a prestigious customer is evaluating Oracle BPM and one of its requirements is the capability of posting the application URLs of the developed manual task based processes (started by an initiator human task activity) on its internal, non-Oracle portal site. Effectively, they would like to replicate the items of the BPM workspace top left pane menu, so they can be launched from a separate html page the desired processes in a pop-up window fashion.
    Has anybody tried this kind of setup before ? By the time that the internal Portal site has its own authentication mechanism, it would be also acceptable to produce the Oracle BPM workspace login screen and then, if user is authenticated, to display the appropriate initiator human task page.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Serafeim.

    http://java.net/projects/oraclebpmsuite11g/downloads/directory/Samples/bpm-api-101-instance-query
    InitiateCreditIncreaseRequest.jar tells you what you need to know to get started. Then, get a handle on a Task object getTaskDisplayUrl().

  • Oracle Reports Developer 6i - sample data tables

    I downloaded and installed all the components of Oracle Reports 6i on my PC. When I look at the Oracle Reports Developer manual (building reports.pdf) it is referring to a database tables like stocks, stock_history etc. I am trying to learn how to use the tool using this manual. Aren't the sql scripts that create those tables and load the sample data a part of the installation. Am I missing anything. I will appreciate any input. Again, I did a full install by selecting all the components and not just a typical install.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Suresh
    Try locating these tables in scott schema. If you don't find it there, try locating the scripts to create this table in Oracle Database installation folder.

  • Can I delete or insert or copy any actions in the existing manual test script.

    Hello,
    I am developing manual test scripts using MTM 2013. I see while playing back there are many actions that are not required or necessary. In some cases I see that certain actions are not recorded properly as they don't execute correctly while paying back.
    Is there any way I can delete particular actions or insert or copy new actions for the existing test script.

  • Developing BB OS 6.0 Application explicitly on Eclipse : Encountered Error

    Hi All
    Backend Used: SAP
    Middleware: SUP 2.0
    Development IDE: Eclipse with BB plug in
    Application Name: PR
    Earlier I made the same application in SUP 1.5.5 with the use of DAD (Device Application Designer) and ran successfully. This application shows a list of PR and perform an operation of approval or rejection of selected PR.
    In latest SUP release it abandoned the use of DAD for RBS application in BB, then i tried app developent using SUP 2.0 BB custom application development manual. I did everything like
    Deployed package on SCC
    Imported generated files in Eclipse
    Imported 3 JAR files (referenced through another project)
    Used syncprofile and syncgroup methods
    Project on Eclipse (PR) resulted in different behavior, different time :
    1. Ran successfuly on opening the application 3 4 times after running simulator.
    2. Showed "midilet exception" while compiling the project.
    3. Compiled successfully and on running the application on simulator, it shows en exception immediately after clicking the app icon - com.sybase.persistence.PersistenceException: UltraLiteJ Error[-974] : File I/O failed for 'PR1_0.ulj
    I have a doubt on JAR files that we need to import, those might be made again.
    Please help on this issue, or share your views

  • Missing info in manuals

    Hi,
    The programming/developer manuals tell us this:
    >In order to have a display object appear in the display list, you must add it to a display object container that is on the display list.<
    But, they (intentially or not) fail to tell us how to add a display object container to the display list.
    The following code renders a blank screen (nothing gets displayed):
    var tf1:TextField = new TextField();
    var tf2:TextField = new TextField();
    tf1.name = "text 1";
    tf2.name = "text 2";
    var container1:Sprite = new Sprite();
    var container2:Sprite = new Sprite();
    container1.addChild(tf1);
    container1.addChild(tf2);
    container2.addChild(tf1);
    I tried addChild(Container2), but to no avail.
    What gives?  Is this a hidden secret?
    Ronald

    Yes, there is.  I don't want the tweens (and their associated symbol objects) I create dynamically to mix with my stage objects.  Reason, I'll be making a FOR structure routine soon that'll automatically resize display objects on the stage (dragged on in Flash).  As I've realized, tweens cannot be resized the same way as other display objects, therefore one has to execute the tween code separately and alter its property arrays accordingly to reflect needed changes.
    Anyhow, this thread is somewhat related to my other thread.  As you suggested, I'll be moving my loaded images into a movieclip container.  Actually, I won't need to make the container visible after all.  addTarget() seems to act like addChild(), displaying the symbol passed to it. <s>

  • Can MI Development take place on WAS Java?

    Hi Experts,
    I have the following servers:
    1. MI Dev (WAS ABAP + Java)
    2. NW Developer Workplace (WAS Java)
    I want to use the NWDS installed on NW Developer Workplace system to test my MI Developments. Could someone tell me how can I achieve that?
    Or, I HAVE to deploy the MI application on the WAS ABAP + Java system.?
    Thanks,
    Shobhit

    Hi Shobit,
    Yes. You can use the NWDS installed on NW Developer Workplace system to test your MI Developments.
    Go to the 'Mobile Development Manual' in the 'Help' section of your NWDS or refer to following link
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/21eba3a7-0601-0010-b982-92f1fca3258a
    But it will always require WAS ( ABAP +  Java) as a middleware.
    Hope this helps.

  • Slow table creation after upgrade from 10.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.1 using DBUA

    I've recently completed a database upgrade from 10.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.1 using the DBUA.
    I've since encountered a slowdown when running a script which drops and recreates a series of ~250 tables. The script normally runs in around 19 seconds. After the upgrade, the script requires ~2 minutes to run.
    By chance has anyone encountered something similar?
    The problem may be related to the behavior of an "after CREATE on schema" trigger which grants select privileges to a role through the use of a dbms_job call; between 10g and the database that was upgraded from 10G to 11g. Currently researching this angle.
    I will be using the following table creation DDL for this abbreviated test case:
    create table ALLIANCE  (
       ALLIANCEID           NUMBER(10)                      not null,
       NAME                 VARCHAR2(40)                    not null,
       CREATION_DATE        DATE,
       constraint PK_ALLIANCE primary key (ALLIANCEID)
               using index
           tablespace LIVE_INDEX
    tablespace LIVE_DATA;When calling the above DDL, an "after CREATE on schema" trigger is fired which schedules a job to immediately run to grant select privilege to a role for the table which was just created:
    create or replace
    trigger select_grant
    after CREATE on schema
    declare
        l_str varchar2(255);
        l_job number;
    begin
        if ( ora_dict_obj_type = 'TABLE' ) then
            l_str := 'execute immediate "grant select on ' ||
                                         ora_dict_obj_name ||
                                        ' to select_role";';
            dbms_job.submit( l_job, replace(l_str,'"','''') );
        end if;
    end;
    {code}
    Below I've included data on two separate test runs.  The first is on the upgraded database and includes optimizer parameters and an abbreviated TKPROF.  I've also, included the offending sys generate SQL which is not issued when the same test is run on a 10g environment that has been set up with a similar test case.  The 10g test run's TKPROF is also included below.
    The version of the database is 11.2.0.1.
    These are the parameters relevant to the optimizer for the test run on the upgraded 11g SID:

    So while this certainly isn't the most elegant of solutions, and most assuredly isn't in the realm of supported by Oracle...
    I've used the DBMS_IJOB.DROP_USER_JOBS('username'); package to remove the 194558 orphaned job entries from the job$ table. Don't ask, I've no clue how they all got there; but I've prepared some evil looks to unleash upon certain developers tomorrow morning.
    Not being able to reorganize the JOB$ table to free the now wasted ~67MB of space I've opted to create a new index on the JOB$ table to sidestep the full table scan.
    CREATE INDEX SYS.JOB_F1_THIS_NEXT ON SYS.JOB$ (FIELD1, THIS_DATE, NEXT_DATE) TABLESPACE SYSTEM;The next option would be to try to find a way to grant the select privilege to the role without using the aforementioned "after CREATE on schema" trigger and dbms_job call. This method was adopted to cover situations in which a developer manually added a table directly to the database rather than using the provided scripts to recreate their test environment.
    I assume that the following quote from the 11gR2 documentation is mistaken, and there is no such beast as "create or replace table" in 11g:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10592/statements_9003.htm#i2061306
    "Dropping a table invalidates dependent objects and removes object privileges on the table. If you want to re-create the table, then you must regrant object privileges on the table, re-create the indexes, integrity constraints, and triggers for the table, and respecify its storage parameters. Truncating and replacing have none of these effects. Therefore, removing rows with the TRUNCATE statement or replacing the table with a *CREATE OR REPLACE TABLE* statement can be more efficient than dropping and re-creating a table."

  • Questions, Suggestions, Bugs - results from 7-day workshop

    Last week we (AMIS that is) finished yet another JHeadstart workshop with one of our customer’s development teams. In this workshop we focused on Struts, BC4J and both JSP and UIX. (so no Toplink this time). By the way: we used JHeadstart 9.0.4.5 in conjunction with JDeveloper 9.0.4.
    Over the course of this 7 day workshop we had several discussions, most of these the result of our customer’s ambition to generate all or most of an application they had already developed manually using the Web PL/SQL Toolkit and integrated with Oracle Portal. These discussions resulted in several questions/suggestions/enhancements requests. I list them below to inspire future releases.
    Questions:
    ·     Why does JHeadstart not make use of the UIX-Struts integration (see Chapter 15 of the UIX developer’s Guide)?
    ·     How do you specify which columns/attributes in a Table Layout are sortable?
    Suggestion/Enhancement Requests:
    ·     Offer the possibility to generate Regions “Side by side” instead of always below each other
    ·     Could you provide the same kind of “nested navigation” on persistentAttribute for BC4J as you offer for Toplink, e.g. through the use of Jakarta Commons BeanUtils in DataObjectImpl.getAttribute()?
    ·     Allow Master-Detail with Detail Table-Form layout style and same page is true (at least a recipe, preferably full generation) (I do understand that having multiple Child-table-layouts with Details-buttons on the same Master-page could be an issue due to the conflicting details-events, but surely one can be arranged?)
    ·     Generation of breadcrumbs for JSP
    ·     Allow us to specify for a file upload which attribute will hold the filename; allow us to specify for download which attribute will provide the filename (for the save as dialog in the browser) and possibly the mime-type.
    ·     Allow an Alt-text property to be defined for attributes with Display Type = Image; this alt-text property can refer to another attribute.
    ·     In Jsp: Display Type displayField should generate a <bean:write> instead of a disabled <html:text> field. For domain-based attributes that are normally rendered using a pop-list (Choice), a displayField requires additional logic to display (bean:write) the meaning rather than the value
    ·     Allow the prompt to be empty (if you leave the prompt property empty, the generator will use the attribute name; you can not explictly leave it empy; the workaround is to type a single space for the prompt)
    ·     Provide a way to preview the defaults that the generator will use for properties that are not explicity set OR provide a way to explicitly set those defaults as values on the Entity Object’s attributes
    ·     Allow the Domain and Region-properties to be set through a Combo-box with a list of the available Domains and Regions
    ·     Make the private members in oracle.jheadstart.model.bc4j.handler.DataObjectImpl protected, so that a subclass can access those variables
    ·     Allow us to specify a “split prompt” , for example Weight|kg that would display as Weight …. (field) kg; make the JDG pick up split prompt from Designer and set accordingly in the VO Attribute.
    ·     Allow the definition and generation of separate prompt and hint values for Find, Table and Form-page
    ·     Provide a utility to copy VO Attribute properties between ViewObjects (or even to copy entire ViewObjects)
    ·     Documentation: provide a JDG Reference “to-from” in addition to “from-to”: it is very convenient when trying to generate an application using the JDG if you can easily find out what you have to do set in Oracle Designer in order to achieve some result in the generated application. For example: how do I generate a Table-Form layoutstyle?
    ·     Provide a shortcut to run the JDG again, with the exact same settings as the previous run; this makes incremental development using the JDG a lot more convenient; having to walk through the entire wizard for every little change in Designer is rather a pain.
    ·     Provide properties in the Group, Lookup and Region elements in the Application Structure File (editor) for recording post-generation changes
    ·     Generate Regions (minus Table Summary items) in Detail Disclosure
    ·     Provide (style)Class property on ViewObject Attributes and generate the styleClass property for UIX elements or a class property for JSPs (if the Struts tags do not cater for a Class property, you can also generate a <SPAN class=””> around the JSP items)
    ·     Provide a shortDesc or altText property for VO Attributes; these are turned into popup texts on items and can for example provide popup hints in a Table Layout; generate the UIX shortDesc property.
    ·     Provide preComment and postComment properties on VO Attributes, Groups and Regions; the values of these properties should be generated into the UIX or JSP pages as <!-- preComment value --> and <!-- postComment value -->. Not only does this allow better documentation of the generated sources, it also provides hooks for post-generation utilities.
    ·     Support displayType numberField/numberItem; this in UIX would render a right-aligned input-item
    ·     Allow specification of dateFormat at VO Attribute level (in addition to Service Element)
    ·     Switch to JSTL from the Struts tags – at least for bean:write (c:out) and all logic tags; configure new JHeadstart projects for JSTL (libraries, taglibs, web.xml etc.)
    ·     Allow multiple values to be returned from a List of Values
    ·     Allow an onBlur property on VO Attributes; this property includes a piece of JavaScript to be executed on leaving the item; the code may refer to other items in the same record. Ideally also provide other event-triggers such as onFocus, onMouseOver etc.
    Bugs?? We ran into some issues that may indicate bugs
    ·     The Master-context in UIX pages for Detail Group, Table-Form (same page false) is missing
    ·     Master context in JSP voor Detail Group, Form page (same page false) is missing
      Watch this Topic      Copyright 2004, Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved. About OTN I Contact Us I About Oracle I Legal Notices and Terms of Use I ·     A ViewObject Attribute with displayType File Upload seems to result in a html:file element that pastes the contents of the file into the HTML Page: <input type="file" name="PublisherLogo" maxlength="100" size="30" value="ÿØÿà JFIF H H ÿÛ C ? $.&#39; &quot;,# (7),01444&#39;9=82&lt;.342ÿÛ C etc It would seem that the value attribute of the <html:file> element should explicitly be set to an empty string
    ·     (I am not absolutely certain that this is really the case, but we have seen this behavior several times) The JDG seems to generate a faulty BC4J Design for JDeveloper 9.0.4: when running the JDG for the second time for a Module, a second, similar ViewLink is created where the JDG should overwrite a previously created one. In the BC4J Tester we could still see the data, but in the generated application, we could not find the children of the masters through this duplicated ViewLink. Removing the second viewlink did not solve the problem. Creating the ViewObjects and ViewLinks from scratch in Jdeveloper (i.e. not through the JDG) worked fine.

    In the meantime, I can answer to your questions:
    · Why does JHeadstart not make use of the UIX-Struts integration (see Chapter 15 of the UIX developer’s Guide)?This has been done to allow the same page to be run both with Struts and MVC Framework, without needing to change the page. Using the UIX-Struts integration would have made the pages 'controller aware'.
    · How do you specify which columns/attributes in a Table Layout are sortable?As far as generation is concerned, you can only specify the whole table to be sortable. In case of UIX you can post-gen modify the <sortableHeader> tag of each column separately. In case of JSP you can remove the <a href> tag for each column that you do not want to sort on.
