BDR-206 Not Showing After 10.6.7 Update

I have a 2nd Optical Drive a Pioneer BDR-206. Got it in Dec. has worked great till I did the 10.6.7 update. It does not show up in menu, or system info anymore. I have repaired permissions, cleared P-ram, and restarted a couple of times. No luck.
Does anyone have a fix, or know what the problem is?

Hi there OneBigJedi. A question for you, do you have your drives set to never sleep in the Energy Saver pane of System Prefs?
I've been looking at this on and off to see if here have been any more developments. I have a new drive as my old one died, it has V1.05 firmware as opposed to V1.04, (Pioneer have released V1.06).
Had a quick look go with the terminal command drutil getconfig too and saw something that might point to somewhere if anybody clever knows what any of this means?

Yeah I had that problem the other day myself with a Rotuer attatched external drive. Show on my Win PCs no problem but not on my MBP running 10.8.2.

To help you see what is happening, temporarily add DESNAME to your parameter screen. Make sure that DESNAME on the parameter screen has a value before you click the Submit Query button.
If you are running the report with a local report service (running on your workstation), the value of desname should be the name of your default printer.
If you are running the report on a network application server based report service you need to specify the name of a printer that is accessible to the server on which the report service is running. Make sure that it is specified in a way that the server can recognize it, e.g. \\printserver_01\HPLaserJ4210.

SD Card not showing after Mountain Lion Update

This matter has been discussed for some time now in

Since the update to Mountain Lion, the SD slot does not show up in Finder.
Someone gave a fix using the killall in Terminal, and that worked only once. I have not been able to get that fix to work again.
The only saving grace for me is that my SD Card us is always from my Nikon camera, and Nikon ViewNX 2 software is able to see and read from the card.
Killall may have worked partially in that I no longer get the error message telling me that I have removed the SD card improperly, and need to dismount it first.
However, Finder still cannot see it.

Does the card show up in System Information? Or is that another one of the "basics" you've already looked into?
Does it show up in Disk Utility? If so, have you tried formatting it there to determine if it is a formatting problem?

ipod touch 5th gen will not sync after windows 8.1 update. Computer see's Itouch as mass storage and charges. Worked with Window's 8 fine, as soon as update was done and restarted computer Itouch doesn't show up. Itouch seen on two other computers.

I would make sure you are using an Apple branded cable with your iPad. If you are, the troubleshooting steps in the article below may help. The steps listed below for the iPhone and iPod still apply to your iPad.
Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

If the app is G-Toolkit and you have a Gmail app on your iPhone, delete the Gmail app. Apparently the G-Tool kit is tied to a Gmail app. From searching the web my impression is that G-Toolkit is not spyware and is from a legitimate company that produces app for several platforms.

Click on the Apple icon (upper left-hand corner), select About this Mac, and post the OS X version number.

Software update not showing iTunes 10.6.3 update

iTunes is telling me there is an update and when I click install it checks for system updates. iTunes 10.6.3 is not showing up in the system update and says everything is up to date. I cannot install iOS6 as a result. Any help?

Thanks for the reply. My Mac OS is 10.6.2 and I have another Mac running 10.5.8 both have the same issue. I find it hard to believe that I can't update my iPhone 5 without having to pay for a OS update??? I'll be getting two phones on Friday and this would mean I can only back them up?

See if your iOS device, computer, and wireless plan all meet the system requirements for Personal Hotspot.
Make sure Personal Hotspot is on: Tap Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Check the Internet connection on your iOS device: Tap Safari and load a new webpage.
If one connection type doesn't work, try another. For example, instead of connecting using Wi-Fi, use USB or Bluetooth.

This happened to me as well. AT&T had me reset my network settings and this fixed the problem. Here is how...
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
"For now" the problem is fixed for me.

The download took 3 hrs and after all of that the phone is the same showing no sign of being updated. We did turn it off and back on and still nothing. Can anyone please help and tell me what I need to do to update his phone. He is unable to update or downloaded apps or anything off of itunes at this point.

So what happened to the phone during the process? It should have gone black and restarted a couple of times and there would have been a white progress bar as the update installed. Sounds to me like you've downloaded the update file but not actually installed it. The quickest way to see version of the software is installed is to go to Settings-General-About and check Version.
