As the Product Manager for the Oracle Communications Converged Application server (the former BEA WebLogic SIP server) and the former product manager for the Sailfin (I was PM for the Sailfin product before I left Ericsson to work for BEA) I must say that the Oracle product is absolutely superior, both in terms of quality and design, to any other competing product. I can also say that Oracle is fully behind this technology. Remeber that in the long run the issue is not "cost", but "value". Open source software is generally free for a reason.

Where is JainSipApi.jar in bea sip server?
hi,
to my understanding JSR-116 reuse the sip stack from JSR-32
but I do not find any JainSipApi.jar in bea sip server.
i am a bit confused. anyone can help?Hi,
The WebLogic SIP Server does not provide a simple ava langunage binding to the SIP protocol, as you would get with the JAIN SIP API. Our SIP message parser/assembler and transaction layer is fully integrated with our Servlet container and is not visible as a .jar file.
The SIP Servlet API is part of the JAIN initiative within the JCP but it does not have any direct dependency on, or relationship with, the JAIN SIP specification.

Hi all,
I developed few sip services for Oracle OCMS. Now I'm trying to migrate the services to Bea sip server. I would like to know if Bea Sip server has proxy/registrar, presence functionalities like OCMS has. In OCMS there were out-of-the-box, but for what I've seen Bea doesnt have them. Are they going to be available?
Many tks

BEA Sip Server 3.1 Socketexception
Hi All,
I am getting a SocketException on the multicast address specified for the Data and Engine Cluster while starting the managed servers in Weblogic SIP Server 3.1.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Regarding INVITE retransmission (BEA sip server)
Hi all,
I have a question about the WebLogic SIP server (version 3.1) behavior.
I am testing a simple call scenario from UAC to UAS on UDP transport (please see the call flow below).
It seems that the WebLogic SIP server generated a retransmission of an INVITE even if the 100 response had already been sent to the server.
According to RFC3261 page 124,
"After
receiving a 1xx response, any retransmissions cease altogether, and
the client waits for further responses",
the server (acting as a UAC in this case) should stop the t1 timer and do not generate any retransmissions of the INVITE after the 100 response had been received.
I wonder if there is something wrong with my configuration. Has anyone come across this issue before ?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
PS: I have verified that the Call-ID are the same in the 100 response and the initial INVITE.
Best Regards,
kirati

just a heads-up to anybody else that might come across the same problem i did:
when i tried to create a new j2ee enterprise application project on a brand new install of workshop 9.2 for solaris 9/sparc, workshop crashed before i could even finish creating the project.
prior to trying to create the project, i had noticed in "Help -> Manage Configuration" that the "com.bea.eclipse.server.lib.weblogic9" plugin under the "WebLogic Workshop Server Libraries" feature was not configured properly. the configurator was reporting 'Plug-in "com.bea.eclipse.server.lib.weblogic9" referenced by this feature is missing'. i suspected that this missing plugin is what caused the crash.
i examined $WORKSHOP_HOME/server/eclipse/plugins/com.bea.eclipse.server.lib.weblogic9/plugins.xml and saw that it had been installed originally with the following value for the plugin element:
<plugin id="com.bea.eclipse.server.lib.weblogic9; singleton:=true"...>whereas the $WORKSHOP_HOME/server/eclipse/features/com.bea.eclipse.server.lib/feature.xml had the following value for the plugin element:
<plugin id="com.bea.eclipse.server.lib.weblogic9...>i removed "; singleton:=true" from the plugins.xml file and now "Manage Configuration" reports the status of the feature as "configured properly"; plus i am now able to complete the creation of new j2ee enterprise application projects.Could you open up a support case on this?

I have changed the jar files path in build.properties file as its required to import new jars as part of Documentum server upgradation. But getting above errors.. Do i have to update Config.xml file or any other file.. Please suggest. You've got a problem with a corrupted config.xml file.
Since you did not make any changes you can copy the config.xml.booted file over the corrupted config.xml.
The other option is to walk though the config.xml file and look for the problem... -
I have an ODSI Physical Service that is based on a Java Function. The Java Function builds a SQL statement and uses JDBC to query for a ResultSet. One of the columns that is queried is a Clob. Sometimes, the data in this column causes an XMLBeans validation exception in ODSI: {err}XQ0027: Validation failed: error: decimal: Invalid decimal value: unexpected char '114'
The issue is not consistently replicable with particular database record, the database records that present this issue at one point in time will be resolved after a restart of ODSI and replaced by another list of records that present the same error.
As can be seen from the stack trace, it looks like the issue is happening after the database query has returned and while the process is assembling the SOAP response.

about "... Though I have imported the following JDK parsers in the code , the Oracle's SAX parser is taking other inside the application server ..."
If you have used the SAXParserFactory.newSAXParser() method to get a parser, the documentation for this method says "Creates a new instance of a SAXParser using the currently configured factory parameters.".
So you might get a different parser in a different environment.

Try starting the managed server with parameters:
./startManagedWebLogic.sh myManagedServerName http://serverName:7001
Does that make a difference?

Tanks and sorry my English.
GustavoI am also experiencing the same NullPointerException when launching Weblogic 8.1 in debug mode within Eclipse 3.5. Is there any anticipated fix for this issue, or a bugtraq record that we can follow to know when the issue is addressed? I do not expect JSP debugging to work (as it wasn't available with Weblogic 8.1 under Eclipse 3.4 either) - BUT right now I cannot debug ANY server-side code within Weblogic 8.1 in Eclipse 3.5 as the server cannot start in debug mode at all.
Many thanks. -
Hi
I have installed the BEA weblogic server 6.1 service pack 4 as part of PIA (PeopleSoft
Internet Architecture) installation for PeopleSoft 8.8.
After starting the weblogic server, When I type the
http://localhost:12080 (http port number 12080) ideally it should take me to
the BEA home page, but it is throwing an error in the log file.
" Failure in Process sockets - Get Data Java.lang.nosuchmethod error"
Your help is very much appreciated.
Any pointers are welcome.
Thanks
AswarthaI had similar problems with my install of Weblogic 6.1 sp4. I am installing PS
HRMS 8.8 sp1
and PeopleTools 8.44 Patch 2 (Patch 2 is required for install) Peoplesoft sent
me Weblogic 8.1
with my new Tools 8.44. This version and installation is light years ahead of
Weblogic 6.1. If
you are able to load the new version of Weblogic and Tuxedo, it is worth it.
If not, you may want to check to see if your JAR file was installed correctly.
(The new version
of WL doesn't make you unzip your JAR files for the install.)
In the command line for unzipping the JAR file, make sure you type the phrase
EXACTLY as
shown IT IS CASE SENSITIVE. I messed with this for two hours until I saw that
I wasn't putting
a capital letter in one of the words where I should have been.
Hope this helps.

BEA Workshop for SIP Server 3.1
Hi,
Does anyone know if BEA Workshop 10.3 can be used to develop SIP Applications to be deployed on SIP Server 3.1?
Thanks in advance
JonAs the Product Manager for the Oracle Communications Converged Application server (the former BEA WebLogic SIP server) and the former product manager for the Sailfin (I was PM for the Sailfin product before I left Ericsson to work for BEA) I must say that the Oracle product is absolutely superior, both in terms of quality and design, to any other competing product. I can also say that Oracle is fully behind this technology. Remeber that in the long run the issue is not "cost", but "value". Open source software is generally free for a reason.

Move j2ee app. from bea server to bea integration server error
we have deployed 2 of our j2ee application with no errors on bea application server 8.1 sp4. and they work just fine.
now, when deployed the same 2 applications on intergation server 8.1 sp4, only 1 application works out. what i mean, if we access app.1 first it will work fine, and app.2 will not work at all. now if we restart the server and access app.2 first it will work fine and app.1 will not work .....
is there any differeces we should take into consideration before deploying on the integration server.
help is urgently neededYou'd have to provide more details on what errors you're getting, the structure of your application, and what you're trying to do. I doubt anyone could figure out your problem without some of this information.
