BEA Web Logic Platform 7.0
Hi,
I had downloaded the evaluation version of BEA Weblogic Platform 7.0, I was able
to start the web logic server from the Tools menu in Web Logic workshop console,
or from the installation directory\bea\weblogic700\samples\server\workshop\startweblogic.cmd,
it was working fine, I was almost done with the tutorial of creating "financialservices"
but suddenly I am getting errors starting my web server, what log file should
I view to figure out what is wrong.
Please help
regards
arup
Hi.
This is not yet supported for wls 7.

Says it requires weblogic 6.1. Is there any way to get this working with Web logic
7.0?--

Does Discoverer work with BEA Web logic Server ?
We are planning to get Oracle Discoverer as an BI Tool and
BEA WebLogic Server as the web application server.
I am just interested to know if anybody using Oracle Discoverer
as an application tool against BEA WebLogic Server in the Middle Tier
and Oracle 8i/9i database.
I will appreciate the help.
Thanks.
DebjitCould someone kindly follow this and find us a solution?
Thank you.

Hi,
I wanted to find out if the BEA WebLogic Server does any HTTP-level caching at all with respect to both entire documents (eg: gif images, static HTML files) as well as partial documents (eg: JSP fragments).
Any inputs would be much appreciated,
Thanks,
Rishi.Hi, I also wanted to know if BEA Web Logic does any kind of Java Server Faces (JSF) caching.
Thanks,

JDev Integrated Web Logic Server fails
I'm a newbie with WLS. I've installed JDEV 11.1.1.3 in Windows XP SP3, and installed extensions for Webcenter.
Now trying to go through webcenter tutorial, I arrived at point where I'm trying to run a small application,
but nothing works. I've searched and searched the internet for clues, help, and tried multiple things, but nothing helps.
First, I get the warning message
Warning> <Server> <BEA-002611> <Hostname "XXX", maps to multiple IP addresses: 10.10.10.10, 169.254.25.129, 192.168.2.6
and then when I disable all the network connections for these IPs, just to see if this would help,
then the server appears to start successfully, but the tutorial app that compiled successfully does not start to run in any brower.
I go through the properties of the Application Server for the Integrated Web Logic Server to test the connection and I get
Testing JSR-160 Runtime ... failed.
Cannot establish connection.
Testing JSR-160 DomainRuntime ... skipped.
Testing JSR-88 ... skipped.
Testing JSR-88-LOCAL ... skipped.
Testing JNDI ... skipped.
Testing JSR-160 Edit ... skipped.
Testing HTTP ... failed.
Unable to open conection: Connection refused: connect
Testing Server MBeans Model ... skipped.
I have no clue, and trying different configurations does not help.
I need a WebLogic for Dummies guide. Anyone have some clue ?Thanks Ravi Jegga for looking at my post. Here's some info.

ClydeHello Clyde,
I downloaded and tried the same binary and it worked ok for me. I, however, used
the following command for chmod:
chmod +x net_paltform702_solaris.binPlease try again. There is something in your settings that's giving the error.
best regards,

are they going to announce this? No, it will not work. You should contact your account rep for more info.

Web Logic 10.3.6 (64bit) - Could not load the sitemesh filter and library
Installed Web Logic 10.3.3 (32bit) and Java JDK 1.6.0_21 (32bit) in a customer's server (Windows Server 2008 R2 and 64-bit Operating System). The web page can be displayed with header and side menu.
However installed Web Logic 10.3.6 (64bit) and Java JDK 1.6.0_31 (64bit) on that same server. The web page cannot be displayed with header and side menu, it is just displayed with a blank background. Refer to the below "ERROR LOG", found the application could not load the sitemesh filter and library properly. We are using sitemesh-2.3.jar.
Have tried installed Web Logic 10.3.6 (64bit) and Java JDK 1.6.0_31 (64bit) in a test server (Windows Server 2008 R2 and 64-bit Operating System). The web page can be displayed with header and side menu.
Please assist on this issue. Thanks.

Considering that the same WLS-JDK combination works on one machine and does not work on another machine, it indicates an environmental issue.

I am suspecting if it has to do anything with the native libraries being loaded JAVA_LIB_PATH.
Please review the server log file again for identifying differences in LIB_PATH or PATH or any messages saying "Unable to load native.. performance pack.."

Server logs may contain JDK warnings such as the following if the jdk folder is an mklink.
*[WARN ][osal ] Could not add counter (null)\ for query*
*[WARN ][osal ] Failed to init virtual size counter.*
These are just warnings and do not affect any servers.
Workaround
To suppress these warnings, add the following line in the FRAMEWORK_LOCATION\provisioning\provisioning-plan\fusionapps_start_params.properties file
-Xverbose:osal=error
You can even try the solution provided in below link
http://hirt.se/blog/?p=169

hi guys, i have successfully deployed my first container managed persistence entity bean
on web logic server 5.1 but i am unable to run my client application the following error
occurs when i try to run my client application on windows 98 platform
we are unable to get a connection to the web logic server at t3:\\localhost:7001
please make sure that the server is running
unable to lookup the beans home: cannot instantiate
class:weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory
plz let me know how to overcome this problem
and what does it mean by t3 why we use it instead of http.

abidwe are unable to get a connection to the web logic
server at t3:\\localhost:7001
please make sure that the server is running
unable to lookup the beans home: cannot instantiate
class:weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactoryt3 is a proprietary protocol used by weblogic. First of all tcp/ip needs to be set up in order for you to access localhost. You can check this by opening your browser and typing http://localhost in the address bar. This should bring up the weblogic homepage. If this does not happen, all you need to do is install the TCP/IP services.

Starting Web Logic Server - Unrecognized option: -jrockit
Hi,
Im getting the error "Unrecognized option: -jrockit" when I try to start the Web Logic Server as is showed below:
D:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin>startWebLogic.cmd
* To start WebLogic Server, use a username and *

starting weblogic with Java version:
Unrecognized option: -jrockit
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Starting WLS with line:
I already installed the JDK 7 64 (jdk-7u2-windows-x64) and use the generic file to install the Web Logic Server (wls1035_generic)
I got the files from here:
JDK >> http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk-7u2-download-1377129.html
Web Logic >> http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic/downloads/wls-main-097127.html
Any help I will appreciate.
Thank You,
Raul.Note that you are using the HotSpot JDK. The option -jrockit is only valid if you are using JRockit.
When you open setDomainEnv.cmd you see something like:
if "%JAVA_VENDOR%"=="Oracle" (
set JAVA_HOME=%BEA_JAVA_HOME%
) else (
if "%JAVA_VENDOR%"=="Sun" (
set JAVA_HOME=%SUN_JAVA_HOME%
) else (
set JAVA_VENDOR=Oracle
set JAVA_HOME=C:\bea\jrockit_160_29_D1.2.0-10
)which selects a certain JDK based on the set JAVA_VENDOR property.
You add the property JAVA_VENDOR above the first if statement, for example,
set SUN_JAVA_HOME=
set JAVA_VENDOR=Sun
if "%JAVA_VENDOR%"=="Oracle" (...)Also see if the SUN_JAVA_HOME property is set to the correct directory.

How to setup a DB Adapter in Web Logic
I am familiar setting up DB adapters (eis/DB/) in OC4J; but having challenges setting up the same in Web Logic. I was able to set up the JDBC datasource, but couldn't figure out where to go and setup the DB adapter (which in OC4J would use that datasource).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

What do these errors mean ? Web Logic 8.1 setting
I am a newbie in this Web Logic and I'm facing problem in my web application.
Appreciate that someone can guide me on this issue. I'm able to login to my web app and perform some interaction and but when I started to click on one of the contact button from front end I did receive this message "javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException:t3://localhost:7501,localhost:7551: Destination unreachable; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect; No available router to destination]".
Not sure I have to perform any of the configuration from the WebLogic console.

Run Oracle Web Logic and Oracle Application Server 10g on same server
Since oracle has chosen to release adf faces 11g, before the SOA suite 11g is released, we are facing the challenge to run both Oracle Web logic and Oracle Application Server 10g on the same server.
If anyone have any experience in this setup or has knowledge of other feasable setups please let me know.
Regards.
JanWhat version of Oracle Application Server 10g are you installing?
If you are installing 10gR2 (v10.1.2.x) have you taken a look at point #70 in "Table 2 Additional Information for Certified Platforms" section here?
