All clients have a low Signal Strength (below RSSI Threshold -50 dBm), but only clients with MAC 4444.4444.4444 and 7777.7777.7777 is involved by ClientLink. Why?

Vlad,
According to this article (http://www.revolutionwifi.net/2010/07/beamforming-clientlink-and.html), maximum number of Beamforming-clients = 15:
"...Cisco's documentation states that a maximum of 15 clients per radio can be supported using ClientLink at the same time..."
...and I saw, on other access point AIR-AP1142N-R-K9 there were at the same time 6 clients at one frequency (2.4GHz).
I have an assumption that ClientLink doesn't service the client, at which "Current Rate: 54.0" (without beamforming), irrespective of values "Signal Strength: ... ". In my case with client 5555.5555.5555 situation disputable as it is on boundary - 51Bdm, though "Current Rate      : 48.0".
Here the white paper on ClientLink 1.0 / 2.0 / 3.0 technologies:

  • Cisco AIR-AP1142

Just out of the box. Configured IP address, security and enabled the radios. When I checked the gigabit interface it shows:
          Software status -- Enabled
          Hardware status -- Down
Is this an indication that the AP has a hardware problem and I can send it for RMA?

    Hi mcaoile,
As Leo suggested, could you please paste the full output?
    thanks,

  • Installing a second AIR-AP1142-AK9 in same office building

What should I be aware of?  Any issues?

We should be careful while seeing that the channels are not-overlapping. Get Spatial Spatial multiplexing is a multiple antenna technique that increases the data rate as compared to single antenna techniques. Theoretically, spatial multiplexing can increase the capacity of the system as pairs of transmitter and receiver antennas are added to the system. The source data (usually data requested by the user) is split into two or more independent data streams that are transmitted over multiple antennas, called spatial streams. A common configuration is the previously mentioned 2×2 MIMO system. In this case the throughput is theoretically doubled compared to the single antenna configuration. There are some assumptions about the channel correlation conditions and necessary signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) required to approach this increase in throughput, but these topics are best left for another day.
    Hello Abhishek,
Exactly WHAT are you takling about?????
Could you elaborate what you mean by this?

  • I can't install ANY AIR-based App in Windows XP Pro SP3

Here is the problem: I have AIR 1.5.1.8210, but any AIR apps can't be installed and when I try it the OS crashes and I have my computer restarted. It's very weird 'cause it's heppen only with AIR apps.
Yes, this is my last resource to find an answer to it.
Yes, I've done my homework and yes, I've done some research (and still doing it)
Yes, I'm using my administrator account logged on with password (so, I think, apps has no problem to install)
Yes, I tried install it with another user account I thought the app will ask the admin password (just like in Linux OS, when the app on installation ask you about the root password). Even though, no success. Of course, it's something expected 'cause the user hasn't admin permissions. But I give a shot.
Yes, I've already installed/installed about 5 times AIR runtime and the AIR apps (even manually) and no success...at all!
Yes, I used at least 4 apps to system/registry/file cleaning (CCleaner, Glary Utilities, Advanced System Care  and MVRegClean)...too many of them, but only to be sure of the complete cleaning.
Here in the forum another person, but on Vista, found almost the same problem as I, here's the link: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/199842?tstart=30
And another buddy ask about admin rights to install AIR apps, here's the link: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415756?tstart=30
And, I found two others infos in Adobe site per se about any troubleshooting on AIR: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb403150&sliceId=1 and log actions during installation: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb403123&sliceId=1.
2+2 = 4. So, I done/undone all the steps in the last two links (I installed/unistalled the AIR runtime and AIR apps 5 times, remember?) Usually, I can handle my own problems in computer, but this one I can't figure it out.
After all of this here's my system specifications: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3600+ (2.01Ghz), Windows XP Pro SP3 (32bits), Nvidia GeForce 7100 (512 Mb), 1.5 Gb RAM. Web browser: Mozilla Firefox 3.0.8 with TwitterFox.
So, could anyone help? I know, I know to mucj information, burt it was to facilitate the conversation, believe me.
    Kisses, Cat777.

Well, well, well, right before somenone could answer me. I found the answer just here in the forum. I really love it!!!
Seems to be a incompatibility with the file created on Folder Lock installation: "windrvnt.sys." In this case, it is just uninstall Folder Lock and tah dah! Everything works perfectly.
Here comes my request: Hey, developers you all could give a try in resolve this issue, huh? At least give a try...It'll be very nice have the two programs properly installed in anybody's (who wants it) system.
Thanks, anyway for this space to research, change some infos even undirectly. If it was not this forum and all the debate in here maybe I'll be in the dark search for the resolution of it.
      Thanks.

  • Adobe-Air Error Message?

    Hello Folks,
I have installed CS6 and selected Adobe Support Center from the help menu. I keep getting the following error message.
"The installation of this application is damaged. Try to re-install the application or contact the publisher"
I tried re-installing CS6 but am still getting the same error message, with a bouncing Adobe Air icon in my dock.
Any suggestions to remedy this issue would be appreciated.

  • HT3275 Time Machine Repeated verification failures?

We have an Imac and a MacBook Air and run time machinr on both to a WD MyBookLive connected over the WiFi. It appears to work fine in the iMac but the MacBook Air keeps coming up with the message Time Machine completed a verification of your backups. To improve reliability, Time Machine must create a new backup for you. It has been happening every two or three weeks but last time it created a new backup ti came up with this massage only the next day. If it won't work properly I am going to have to ditch time machine and copy key files manually.
    Any Suggestions?

    There is some info here.
    http://pondini.org/TM/D3.html
But go back and read through the whole troubleshooting.
Air in particular seem to often have issues.
I would be incline to buy the USB to Ethernet (or even thunderbolt to ethernet) adapter and use wired connection to do it.

  • MacBook Air Flashing Question ? Mark Folder - Troubleshooting Help!

I am trying to figure out a problem for a friend's Macbook Air. Not sure on the year it was manufactured, but it doesn't look to be but 2 or 3 years old. I have no clue what operating system she was running.
The problem she is having is the flashing question mark folder. I have tried doing a safe boot, but when I hold down shift after powering it off and back on nothing happens. I have tried doing a PRAM reset, it chimes 3 times then goes back to the flashing question mark folder.
The furthest I have gotten is holding down "alt/command" to see if the system preferences would pop up. But all I get is the option to select a wifi network. So that's something! Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this issue? I would like to have a bit more knowledge before I take it to the apple store. Has anyone ran into it asking for a wifi network instead of being able to boot it? Please advise. Thanks!

  • Troubleshooting Logic and I/O board on A1370 11" MB Air after wine spill

    OK,
My wife spilled about 1/4 cup of wine on the keyboard of her MacBook Air. This is an A1370 (EMC 2471) 11" (Core i5 Mid 2011) model.
I have read the articles in this forum and others on what to do when you spill on one of these computers.
What I would like from this forrum is guidance/help/suggestions/best-guess on determining what I need to replace.
    Here are the details.
Directly after the spill, she tells me that the computer turned itself off, and would not come back on - no lights, no start chime, nothing.
I immediately took the back off the computer and mopped up what I could without completely dissasembling the system because it was late at night.
The next morning, one of the kids tried to start the computer (ya, I know that's bad and don't know why the **** he did it but he did). He "fessed up" later and said that when he pressed the power button the keyboard lights came on and chimed then went off and that was it.
I proceeded to take apart the computer, removing the battery, logic board, I/O board, airport, HD, etc.
I noticed that there was wine stain on the logic board and the I/O board and other areas and cleaned it all up with isopropyl and Q-tips.
I then gave the logic board and I/O board a very thorough wash with a cleaning spray by MG Chemicals called "Safety Wash II". Basically alcahol.
I scrubbed the two boards thoroughly with a soft bristle brush for about an hour, then I soaked the entire board in isoproyl alcohol bath for 2 hours then sprayed and scurbbed again until I felt that I got all the wine off.
I did notice a small amount of "purble" on two of the tiny contacts for the LCD connection on the logic board but could not remove no matter how much scribbing I did. The two contacts were number 3,4 if you are counting from right-to-left when viewing the logic board from the bottom of the PC, with the fan to the right.
After a good dry with a hair dryer and letting it sit a few more hours I put it all back together, crossed my fingers, plugged in AC and pushed the power button -- nothing happened.
I had an orange light on AC adapter so I let it charge over night. The next day the AC light was green and the backlight on the keyboard was lit. Tried starting and still nothing.
I took the back off again and disconnected the battery then plugged in the AC adapter. At that point the fan started spinning and I got the start "chime" but nothing on the LCD.
I disconnected AC and plugged in battery and noticed the same thing.
Now whenever I disconnect AC chord and reconnect it I get the chime with fan starting but nothing more.
Also, the backlight on the keyboard stays on all the time and the fan runs all the time if the batter or the AC is connected.
So, I am wondering what I need to replace?
    logic board?
    I/O board?
    keyboard?
    all of the above?
    Would appreciate guidance.

Zane is right, ....I used to repair laptops for years as well,.....diagnosing such things is FUTILE.
Lucky you there are are almost no parts IN the macbook Air. Its IO and Logic and thats really almost it.
Contact Apple for in shop full diagnosis and parts replacement,......youre not going to "diagnosis" nor "fix" it after a spill (without parts replacement) by any means.
Even if you had a BEST CASE spill.....corrosion and failure would ensue on average 7 to 20 days.......then kaput.
Spills turn the best computer repair person into what looks like (to the customer) dufus......WHY? ......because its a  "spin the wheel and GUESS where ALL the liquid went"
replace A......works ok for a week.....whoops, ..........oh yeah, theres a couple drops under under a solder connection on part B........replace that....

  • ITunes/Music Home sharing does not work on my iPad Air

No matter what I do I cannot use Music.app on my iPad Air to play music from my iTunes Library with Home-Sharing switched on. The Library name correctly appears in the Music.app source list after the loading symbol takes an age to complete. When it appears to have connected to the Library on my Mac, contents of my Library are shown in the app but I cannot play anything. If I select an albumn and press Play the Music.app merely cycles rapidly through all the track titles of the Album and then stops. Nothing plays. I've tried dozens of times to get this to work, even rebuilding my iTunes Library. Nothing seems to cure the problem. I can connect and play via Plex which is just plain daft seeing Apple designed all the software/hardware but they, themselves, cannot correctly code for this basic functionality.
Also, not all Album cover artwork is displayed correctly.
It seems many of the things I bought the iPad for are non-functional and the tablet is virtually useless. I can't beleive Apple would produce software and hardware which is specifically made to work harmoniously but obviously doesn't.
    Any help, here, please?
I'm also having problems with Bluetooth connecting to my Mac Pro (2008)... Namly, it will not.

  • Movies from iMac 27 do not show up on macbook air

I have 24 home-made movie that show up on my main computer, iMac 27, two iPads and and iPhone5. However, I am baffled how to get the same movies to show up on my Macbook Air. I've tried Sharing the Library, turning Sharing off and on on both compueters, and many other obvious possibilities. This is baffling me. Has anyone else had the same situation and a solution to go with it?
    Thank you,

    Hello, Steve.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would need a little more information on this issue to provide a better answer.  Are these movies in your iTunes library?  If not see the steps in the first article below.  Some imported movies do show as Home Videos when imported.  If these are in your iTunes library, see the troubleshooting steps in the second article below.

    Hola:

    Hi!
I buy a gigabit switch. I connect the service-port to gigabit switch, and laptop to gigabit switch. I used 192.168.1.x ip address (192.168.1.157 to service-port and 192.168.1.233 to wired port on laptop, well, the laptop has two ip adress, 192.168.1.233 and 209.165.200.2, and the laptop works ok. Ping to 209.165.200.230 -ip address of management interface- and ping to 209.165.200.203 -ip address for AP, is assigned by  DHCP of WLC. And i connect the ap to gigabit switch, and the wlc assigns well an ip direction.
I post the run-config and sysinfo log. The gigabit switch is tp-link model tl-sg1005d, no configuration.
Before the logs, I see this message from AP:
*Apr 19 23:10:20.211: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: This AP is not supported in controller
version 6.0.199.4  ---->What's mean that? Is it compatible the ap with the WLC? ¿Es compatible el AP con el WLC?
    Hola:
He comprado un switch gigabit.
*Apr 19 23:10:20.211: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: This AP is not supported in controller
version 6.0.199.4  ---->What's mean that? Is it compatible the ap with the WLC? ¿Es compatible el AP con el WLC?
    Un saludo
    Antonio R.
