Beats audio and Windows 8

Product Name: HP P6-2133W
Product Number: QW728AA#ABA
My Question is if i choose when Windows 8 (RTM) is Released on October 26th, and i pay for $14.99 Windows 8 Pro 64bit upgrade, if i choose to do a clean install on this HP PC, would i lose my Beats Audio sound on here?     Antivirus i plan on using i think built in Windows Defender in WIndows 8 as well.
Just finding out ahead of time so i can plan the apporiate time, and have everything i need to have a successful upgrade to WIndows 8 Pro 64bit

No problem. Also, when did you purchase your PC? If it was on or after Aug 17, you also qualify for a $15 dollar refund from HP after you upgrade to Win8.

  • Pavilion d6 with Beats Audio and Windows 7: the Sound Stops When Headphones are Removed

The sound works fine, then I put in headphones and usually the sound plays fine, though sometimes it stops working after making a repeating sound for a second.  When I remove the headphones the sound will not come out of the speakers and if I plus the headphones back in no sound comes out.  The only way I can get the sound to work again is to restart my computer.
If I run the sound troubleshooter it doesnt detect a problem.  I tried the fix in this thread http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/Beats-audio-pavilion-dv6-No-sound/td-p/2169..., but that didn't work.  I would really appreciate a solution, thanks a ton!

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63555.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When done, shut down the notebook by holding down the left Shift key as you click on Shutdown to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.
Unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 20 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers/HP' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

Hi - I have  problem with Beats Audio Control Panel after upgrade windows 8 .1 to windows 10. I updated the audio drivers which didn't solve the problem.
Product Name: Hp Pavilion dv7-7051swProduct Number:  B6G49EA#AKD Driver Versions:IDT High Definition Audio CODEC - 6.10.6491.0
Intel(R) Display Audio Driver   - 6.16.0.3154NVIDIA Virtual Audio Driver   - 1.2.30.0 I tried also reinstall this driver but it didn't help.
It's propapbly the same issue as here:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/Problem-Disabling-Beats-Audio-w-Windows-8-1/m-p/3208867#M43609  Thanks for any help.DMaster

Hey, I had the same problem as you and solved it. Product Name: HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC
    Product Number: J0C48EA#AB9
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit While using Windows 8.1, what I did to disable the Beats Audio Control Panel was to update the driver to the generic High Definition Audio, as this guy shows:
https://goo.gl/0XN7Nl When I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, the new OS started using the IDT driver, enabling the Beats Audio Control Panel.
I've tried to do the same under Windows 10 but there was Generic Audio Driver a.k.a. High Definition Audio Driver available. This is what I did:
    1. Download, install the High Definition Audio Tool from Microsoft Hardware Dev Center, and restart your PC. This is the generic audio driver that was missing:
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/8/D/48D7ED36-832B-41D7-AE0A-04AD7D8CA837/HdauSetup_x64.msi
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/Dn613936(v=VS.85).aspx 2. Open Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers
     3. Righ Click Menu over IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and select Update Driver Software
     4. Choose Browse my computer for driver software
     5. Choose Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
     6. Choose High Definition Audio Device
     7. Select Yes in the Update Driver Warning 8. The High Definition Audio Codec is installed and the Beats Audio Control Panel disabled Now I can hear all my music again without the awful Beats Audio effects and volume variations that are a nag.
Hope this helps you out. Thank you. hitek81

  • Problem Disabling Beats Audio w/ Windows 8.1

Hey guys thanks for having this support form thing, I come on here all the time to get my issues fixed so I don't have to bother you guys on the phone. However, I have one problem I cannot seem to find on the forums.
I have a HP Envy dv6 laptop with Beats Audio that I got last summer, and, unfortunately, I'm not too much of a fan of the Beats mixing. With Windows 8.0, when I go into the Audio Control Panel for Beats Audio, I would go to the Listening Experience tab and uncheck "Beats Audio". The little sliders would go gray and my bass in the Sound Control Panel would be set down to -12 as per usual. I would bring that back up to +4 and still had very nice sound quality. However, I updated to the new Windows 8.1 and noticed my audio didn't sound like it did before. I checked my Sound Control Panel and, finding that was not the problem, checked on my Beats Audio Control Panel to find "Beats Audio" on the LIstening Experience tab was rechecked. So I unchecked it, expecting the tabs to gray out again. They didn't. I played with the still white sliders and found they were still affecting my audio experience, even with "Beats Audio" unchecked.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and even tried using the one found in another forum thread (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/Windows-8-1-Beats-audio/td-p/3025971/highli... bottom post from VJ_R) but to no avail. Is there a way this can be fixed?
Thanks for any help in advance!
    JC

Hi JCViscera. Your product has a specific Window 8.1 download available for your IDT driver. Can you try to install this one (if you haven't already) to see if this fixes the issue?

  • Beats audio on windows 8.1

    Hello sir,
    I'm Charan from Hyderabad.
I recently purchased a HP Pavilion 15-P001TX notebook pc around a month ago..
It came with beats audio.. but, after about 10 days of purchase, i've downloaded and installed "realtek HD audio" from the internet..
Few days back one of my friends advised me to uninstall it as beats gives the highest quality sound.. I did so..
After that i observed that my lap is giving significantly low sound with poor quality.. i then searched for my beats software in my start menu thinking to set volumes up in that..
But i couldn't find it anymore.. Nothing with the word 'beats" in my lap
Please tell me how can i get it back.
    thanks in advance!

  • Touchsmart 610 beats audio on Windows 8.1

    Hello,
I have an HP TouchSmart 610 PC with Beats Audio.  After upgrading to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8, the Beats Audio button triggers the logo on the screen, but the sound does not change.  Is there an updated driver that is needed?
    Thanks,
    Wes

    Hello WesGipe,
I have read your post on how your Beats Audio button does not change the sound on your computer, and I would be happy to guide you towards a resolution! To begin, I will need to ask you a few questions:
What is the Product and Model Number of your desktop computer?
Has your computer completed all of its important Windows Updates?
Is this an on-going, or recent issue?
In the meantime, I recommend following this document on Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 8). This should help determine if there is a hardware issue or not. In addition, I also suggest ensuring your drivers are all up to date by following this document on Download or Update Software and Drivers for HP Computers.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, as well as the requested information above. I look forward to your reply!

  • KILL Beats Audio in Windows 10

Hi, Very interesting, I upgraded my wife's HP machine last night and Beats audio is still ok. Can you see Beats logo ? Right click and open it to access equalizer. You may need to change your setup again. Regards.

  • X-FI Xtreme Audio and Windows 7

    Driver is not working properly.
As oposed to WinXP driver (on disk) there is no console application.
In Audio Control Panel I found all necessary settings, but it seems they are not working at all (such as Crystalizer, Surround Xpand and other).
And also now I can't use Bass Redirection setting.
How I can solve this problem?
And when Creative create normal driver and applications for Win 7?

?GURU, I`m having issues with the Windows7 also in the install of Audigy2ZS. I`ve had this for three years and worked fine, yet I did a new update with the old Artificial Intelligence mother board, burt out on me. That could be it. ? Since updating the software in autoupdate for Audigy2ZS and the Windows 7 may be the issue I`m getting...          • Windows 7 64-bit Home Prem
I have the beats audio installed on my machine and recently messed about with the beats audio settings but I forgot what the default settings are.
Is anyone able to provide me with them? I am not talking about the Graphic Equalizer which has the default button but the Beats Audio section.

Hi ManoMatt, sorry to hear that you are having issues with you Beats Audio. Unfortunately no driver is available at this time for the Beats Audio and Windows 8.1. • Start up error and beats audio crackling after realtech driver update

    I am having several issues.
If I plug in a external hard drive, the OS will not start and goes to "press esc for start up menu" in lower left corner on a black screen. I press esc and it goes to boot options.  I have done what HP states and hard started my computer twice and it did not help, and I have found no other suggestion to try and fix this. I have tried everything, including a system recovery and it still goes to the start up menu options.  If I disconnect the external, it will still appear, but the operating system will start up after a few seconds.  Why do I have to disconnect my external to start OS.  And for some reason, my external has been seated in the hardrive section of my computer, instead of the removable storage devices in my computer.
Also, after updating realtech driver, my beats audio speakers pops and cracks. I tried to roll back driver, but no changes. Please help. I dont want to go thru the trouble of sending my computer back for repair. This is really upsetting!!!!  I cannot play any videos or music, because of the crackling.  Why did it do that, and is it fixable.  My laptop has not been jarred or dropped in any manner to have caused any damage.  It started after the driver update, and even tho I rolled back the driver, it still does this.

    Hi @rbuckner35 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 17t-f000  Notebook and issues with Beats Audio and startup issues. The startup looks at the USB as one of your Boot options. So it can not load anything until it know that this is not a boot device.
You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings which could resolve the issue with the sound.
Here is a fix that has helped others.
    1. Right click the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner by your time.
    2. Click Playback Devices.
    3. Click Speakers.
    4. Click properties.
    5. Click the advanced tab on the Properties window.
    6. Change the Default Format drop-down to the highest quality.
    7. Apply the properties.
    8. Click OK to close the properties window.

  • Upgraded to Windows 10 - Sub Woofer/Beats Audio No Longer Working

Hi, Just upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10.  All seems to work fine except I no longer get sound out of my sub woofer and Beats Audio adjustments have no impact on sound.  I am using the IDT High Definition Audio Codec driver.  I thought I did something wrong so I reverted back to 8.1 and everything was working properly.    Ran the Windows 10 upgrade again with the same results, Sub Woofer and Beats Audio not working.  The On Board speakers work fine.  I also did some exploring on various forums and sound issues seem to be a common problem with Windows 10. I also tried the High Defintion Audio driver and that just caused additional issues, i.e. Beats Audio and the Sub Woofer disappeared from my system. Hoping someone has found a solution.  Thanks!

go to search, type "update driver manager"go to sound, "video and game controllers"right click "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC" or whatever is the audio title is.Go to Properties.go to drivers and click update driverClick browse my computer for driver softwarethen click "let me pick from a list of device..."then what i did here, is first clicked "high definition audio device"and then after that i restartedafter, the audio wasn't sounding like it use to so i redid everything from above but rather than picking "High definition Audio Device", I picked the latest "IDT High Definition Audio Codec". So far, my audio is fine and never had a problem since. Any other questions, just reply goodluck.

  • Beats Audio compression and volume fluctuation - HP ENVY m6-1178sa

Just wondering if there's actually been a fix for this yet, as it seems to be a common problem. Using an HP ENVY m6-1178sa and after scouring the internet high and low, none of the fixes seem to be working at all. Whether using the onboard laptop speakers, external speakers, or headphones, all loud sections in songs are dramatically reduced in volume and the low end is totally sucked out. I've had to revert to listening to music on my phone because Beats makes certain songs borderline unlistenable. If there hasn't been an official fix yet, then I urge you to make one as soon as posible, as sound quality was a major motivation for buying this laptop!

I have an HP Envy 17T I purchased in Jan. 2015 with Windows 8.1 and noticed the same issue of highly compressed audio when playing back music files no matter what app you used (Windows Media Player, iTunes, Virtual DJ, etc.). Like the rest of us, this has been driving me crazy. I can confirm that it is not a figment of your imagination - the compression is indeed caused by BeatsAudio. I find it incredible that a software app that supposedly claims a superior listening experience would overlook the ability to turn off such an annoying (and in-your-face) feature!!?? Oh well, so much for my soap box. I stumbled upon a solution that involves disabling Beats Audio and substituting another audio device driver in its place. The following steps work for Windows 8.1 on an HP Envy laptop: Go to Windows Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers section. In the list of audio device drivers, look for Realtek High Definition Audio. This is the device driver for BeatsAudio (a little bit sneaky, wouldn’t you say?).Right-click and select Disable. The downward arrow displays on this driver, indicating it is disabled. (NOTE: At this point, you won’t be able to play any music files.)Right-click and select Update Driver Software.Select Browse my computer for driver software.Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. You should see a window that says Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware. NOTE: If you see a window that says something like This is the best driver for this device, exit the window and repeat steps 4, 5, and 6.In the Model box, highlight High Definition Audio Device (this is the substitute audio device driver) and click Next.At the Update Driver Warning window, click Yes. You should see a confirmation window with High Definition Audio Device displayed. Click Close. In the list of audio device drivers in the Sound, video and game controllerssection, you’ll notice that the High Definition Audio Device now displays instead ofRealtek High Definition Audio. At the prompt to reboot, click Yes.Enjoy your music now with no compression!! NOTE: If you miss the compression in your music, you can always go back to using BeatsAudio.Use the same steps above, just replace High Definition Audio Device driver with the RealTek High Definition Audio driver.

  • EMU 0404PCI-e and Windows 7 64 bit - No audio

    Hi all
I found you guys through Google after I have been tearing my hair out, trying to sort out my problem with audio and Windows 7. Have just installed W7 Ultimate 64, fresh install about 5 days ago and I can't solve this problem.
First of all, Windows 7 would not play anything in Media Player, gave me the Media Player c00d11b1 error every time. Rebooted and it worked for about 1 minute and then the same error appeared. Tried everything, downloaded codec packs, tried various regserver.dll commands and other. Then I realised my onboard sound was disabled in the bios. So enabled that and hey presto, the sound started, for 1 min again. But this time the mixer (windows 7) was showing signal and WM player was playing, just can't hear anything! But if I play something back through FL Studio, it comes out fine through ASIO and the patchmix. Jut can't hear any wav, mp3 or youtube stuff which I think all plays back through wave. So how do you link the wave output from W7 to the input on the patchmix please?
Cause I think that would solve it, hopefully.
    Thanks

No I didn't its still doing it. Please can you guys help me solve this?

I'm not sure if this is related directly to your issue but, this type error can happen when samplerate changes from, lets say, 44.1kHz to 48kHz or 96kHz or 32kHz, etc. if the soundcard driver isn't capable for automatic samplerate changing ... which is quite common (issue) with pro cards (if you have used Soundblaster/X-Fi cards or have been using onboard sound, you never needed to worry 'bout samplerate changes (maybe you didn't even know if there were audio files having various samplerate) as far as samplerate didnt go beyond hardware capabilities since, the driver handled this change automatically.
As many software uses DS or MME for output, it's possible that 0404 PCI has same limitation as what 0404USB has ... only ASIO mode switches samplerate automatically "on the fly." To get ASIO mode with WMP, you may try ASIO plugin (you'll find it by googling).
