Im jest wondering if anyone knows if the Beats Envy 15 has usb 3.0.

Hello, @LeapM
Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you cannot use any USB ports or the fingerprint scanner. That you have error code 19. I will try to assist you with this.
Here is a Microsoft document that may help you: Error codes in Device Manager in Windows. It will explain what the error code is and provide steps to try and resolve.
Let me know how this goes for you.

  • Envy 15 AMD A10 USB ports and fingerprint scanner not working

    Hi
I've had my HP envy 15 about 2 months now and today all the USB ports as well as the fingerprint scanner stopped working. In the device manager I have 6 entries under the USB headding, all have yellow triangles next to them, all display an error code 19 in the properties.
I have tried uninstalling the devices in device manager and then performing a hard reset. I've attempted to locate the usb 3.0 host controlers for my laptop, but I've had no joy and I've tried running both the Microsoft and HP update facalities to try and force a driver update but so far nothing.
Somebody please help because I'm banging my head against the wall at this point.

  • Beats By Dre

Anyone that spends a decent amount of time listening to music through headphones knows what a wide range of sound quality and comfort you can get from different models of headphones. I spend a good portion of my days with my headphones on to help block out the noise around me and to listen to my favorite bands to help me focus and concentrate. I’ve gone through many different models over the years in search of the most comfortable options with the best sound, and I know that what many people recommend and are looking for are Beats By Dre headphones. There are a few variations among the different models of Beats By Dre, so I wanted to take some time to highlight some of the features and differences you’ll find.
Beats By Dre can be separated into two general categories; over-the-ear/on-ear headphones and earphones. We’ll take a look at both, and start with the models of headphones.
    Beats By Dre Headphones
    Solo HD
The Beats By Dre Solo HD headphones are a great place to start when considering Beats By Dre headphones with their lighter, more compact design. Of course, these design features don’t compromise sound quality, and you’ll still get the clear highs and the deep bass that Beats By Dre headphones are known for. They come in a variety of colors including black, red, green, blue, and more. They also have a folding design to make them easier to carry with you.
    Includes:
Beats By Dre Solo HD headphones
3.5mm audio cable with in-line audio controls and microphone
    Carrying case
    Cleaning cloth
    Mixr
Taking the step to the Beats By Dre Mixr headphones, you’ll discover an incredibly durable set of headphones that are built to cater to the needs of DJs. They’re made with a more flexible headband and also feature rotating earcups that allow for single-ear monitoring, perfect for DJs. These headphones are also unique in that they have an audio cable port on each earcup which allows you to daisy-chain your audio and share it. Basically, you can be plugged in to your audio source with one input, and someone else can plug into the other audio port to hear what you’re hearing. With DJs in mind, this model was also built to continue to deliver quality, deep bass even as you turn up the volume. They come in a variety of colors including black, white, blue, green, yellow, and more. They also have a folding design to make it easier to take them with you wherever you go.
    Includes:
    Beats By Dre Mixr headphones
3.5 mm audio cable with in-line audio controls and microphone
    1/4" audio adapter
    Carrying case
    Cleaning cloth
    Studio
The Beats By Dre Studio headphones are the original model of Beats, and feature active noise cancellation. Powered by 2 AAA batteries, the noise cancellation feature on these headphones helps to block out external noise so that you can listen to the amazing sound quality that they produce with fewer distractions. Also, you’ll find that the Beats logo on the side of these headphones isn’t just for looks, it also acts as a mute button when pressed. They come in a variety of colors including black, white, red, and blue, and feature a folding design to make it easier to carry them with you.
    Includes:
    Beats By Dre Studio headphones
3.5mm audio cable with in-line audio controls and microphone
    1/4" audio adapter
    2 "AAA" batteries
    Hard-shell carrying case
    Cleaning cloth
    Wireless
The Beats By Dre Wireless headphones allow you to enjoy the sound quality that Beats are known for without a cord getting in the way. These headphones can connect to Bluetooth-enabled devices from up to 30’ away, and even have audio controls on the earcups so you don’t even have to pull out your MP3 player or walk back to your audio source to change songs or adjust the volume. They feature a rechargeable battery that can provide up to 10 hours of playback and are easily rechargeable with the provided USB charging cable. They feature a folding design that makes it easier to carry them with you.
    Includes:
    Beats By Dre Wireless headphones
    USB charging cable
3.5mm audio cable with in-line audio controls and microphone
    Carrying case
    Cleaning cloth
    Executive
The Beats By Dre Executive headphones are designed to provide you with incredible sound quality wherever you travel. They feature a fold-flat design that makes it easier to pack them for travel, and also have active noise cancellation powered by 2 AAA batteries to filter out the external noise that goes along with traveling, whether it’s on a plane, train, or in a car. They’re lightweight and have pivoting earcups so you can comfortably wear them for extended periods of time.
    Includes:
    Beats By Dre Executive headphones
3.5mm audio cable with in-line audio controls and microphone
    1/4" audio adapter
    Airline adapter
    2 "AAA" batteries
    Hard-shell carrying case
    Cleaning cloth
    Pro
The Beats By Dre Pro headphones are designed so you can experience music the way it was meant to be heard. They feature a sound-isolating design that helps to reduce external sounds to improve the clarity of the audio coming through the headphones. This is different than active noise cancellation because it doesn’t require a powered device or batteries to filter the noise. They also feature dual audio ports like the Mixr headphones so you can share what you’re listening to. They feature a folding design that makes it easier to carry them with you.
    Includes:
    Beats By Dre Pro headphones
3.5mm audio cable with in-line audio controls and microphone
    1/4" audio adapter
    Carrying case
    Cleaning cloth
Now that we've taken a look at the headphone options that Beats By Dre offers, let's take a look at the earphone styles.
    Beats By Dre Earphones
    urBeats
The Beats By Dre urBeats earphones are a great way to upgrade from the earbuds that may have come with your MP3 player. They feature an ultralightweight design with a durable chrome finish, and have a sealed, in-ear design that helps to produce a level of sound quality you may not expect from an earbud-style headphone. They come with 4 pairs of ear tips so you can find the best fit for your ear for comfort and to help block out external noise.
    Includes:
    Beats By Dre urBeats earphones
    4 pairs of earphone tips

    Heartbeats
The Beats By Dre Heartbeats earphones, designed by Lada Gaga, allow you to look stylish while still enjoying incredible sound. They also have a tangle-free flat cord and come with 7 pairs of ear tips to find the perfect fit.
    Includes:
    Beats By Dre Heartbeats earbuds
    7 pairs of earphone tips
    In-line audio controls with microphone
    Leather pouch
    Powerbeats
The Beats By Dre Powerbeats earphones are a clip-on style earbud that help to keep the earphones in place even during physical activity. Not only is this a functional design for many earphone users, it also allows for the earphones to have two speakers inside each earbud, delivering smooth vocals with clear highs and deep bass. They are also designed to allow in a level of ambient noise so you’re still aware of your surroundings while listening to your music. This is perfect to help you stay safe while using them during outdoor activities. They also have bendable ear hooks and include 3 pairs of ear tips to help find the perfect fit and keep them in place.

  • CAN HP Envy 15t j100 Support 2 external monitors?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to connect 2 external Dell monitors with HDMI inputs, to my Envy 15t j100. The evy has only 1 HDMI out port.  The Envy also has 4 USB 3.0 ports. Ideally, I would like the option to use all 3 displays (The Envy's and the 2 externals.)  But would be satisfied with just the 2 externals, extended 1 to the other, for desktop work. Any ideas? Is this possible?

    Hi,
Unfortunately you can't use one HDMI port to connect to two monitor even with a HDMI spliter. You need a small investment to buy a piece of hardware and you can setup like:
Actually Dell monitor is the one on the left hand side. Two external monitors are all FHD. Please watch the following video:

  • Transplant from Dual USB to Clamshell

So I finally, after years of wanting to at least see one in the flesh, scored myself a Clamshell iBook. I would have loved it to have been a Graphite Firewire SE, but I wound up with an original Blueberry, complete with tiny 3.2GB disk but 288MB RAM and in remarkably good condition with one of those fancy cases that were made specifically for the iBook line. And all for £15 plus £5 shipping from eBay, so I won't complain.
What is frustrating is my hastiness to get it running OS 9 (it came with Panther, but no discs). I transferred, via USB stick, an unblessed OS 9 system folder and having tried to boot using it, promptly lost the ability to boot anything. The iBook can't find the panther installation, nor can it boot with the unblessed OS 9 folder. So while I await the chance to pick up Panther discs from my parents' house at Christmas, I tried to burn a bootable OS 9 disc. With success.
BUT: Having managed to boot the machine from the OS 9 disc I'm now wondering whether the CD-ROM drive is on its last legs as it boots alright but once the desktop begins to load the computer becomes dog slow and locks up, with constant clicking from the CD and occasional bursts of 'normal' operation. I know booting from CD is slow, but I also know it shouldn't be as slow as it is currently behaving. I once got as far as being able to double click the OS 9 installer and once got an error (type -92 I think). The other times I've tried it has simply carried on at a dog-slow pace and led me to believe it just won't make it so I've given up by cutting the power as trying to shut down the proper way would take forever.
Either my burned OS 9 disc (by the way, dragging the system fodler off the CD onto the HD doesn't work as it boots but then immediately states the system folder can only be used on the original medium - ie the CD it came from) is dodgy or tyhe drive is. I'm going to manage to get Panther discs later this month, but I'm not hopeful.
Also at my parents is a rather beat-up First Gen Dual USB iBook that still functions, if barely (it had the logic board issue fixed, but after a 6 month trip round India with my sister the screen now only functions if the lid is open at a less-than-45-degree angle). It came with a combo drive which I know to be working - at least I think it still works!
Now obviously I can replace the clamshell's drive with most any standard part, but I also know there are only certain drives to which the original bezel will attach properly (that is, without glue). Does anybody know if the drives apple used in the different iBook G3 models are similar? Do they use the same interface? (Harder to find out using google than I'd expected). I'm not looking to use the Clammy to watch DVDs though having the ability to read them would be handy - the drive swap is merely because I don't want to spend any more money on it as it's a side project and just want to ensure its ability to read CDs.
Seriously, I have never wished for firewire and Target Disk Mode so strongly.

I have to apologise for never replying or thanking you for your answer; I did manage to solve the issues I was having and I managed to deduce that it was simply the disc itself (as no other discs gave me similar issues) that was causing problems. Managed to sell the iBook on at a tidy profit.
Managed to pick up a Graphite SE Firewire too. Bit beat up and a couple of RAM issues but they're beautiful machines. Currently have an Indigo in its original box (with all accessories too!) with a battery that actually still holds a charge. Picked it up for £8 on eBay. OK, shipping was £30 but overall that's a steal. Only issues are a missing Apple leafe and the lid's Indigo accents fading through what I guess was light exposure. Otherwise in pristine condition.
Thanks for answering Bund, and apolgoies for not replying sooner - I somehow didn't see your reply.

  • Recovery discs do not work with new hard drive

Hi I have come here desperately seeking help as I am not too knowledgeable with the workings of computers and I have spent an incredible amount of time just trying to get my laptop to some level of functionality.  I purchased a HP Envy and it had a corrupt hard drive which would not work from day one, laptop was new.  After a year of constant pressure on HP they finally decided to replace it and let me choose any laptop so I went with the Beats Envy 14 as it was the best one offered from the selection.  Low and behold the thing would not work properly from day one, again my brother who is much more of an expert said that there was definitely a hard drive issue so for the past 3 years I have put up with a computer that constantly crashes with BSOD, where I have lost data on numerous occasions (only so often I can back up), that I have had to constantly reset the thing using HP recovery discs, and that generally cannot cope when performing multiple tasks.   HP are most certainly shocking builds from my experience.  Then just last week the hard drive just craps itself and the laptop no longer will boot up.  I took it to a guy to get it at leYst working again so he has installed a new hard drive but with an old version of Windows 7.  I want to go back to the Windows version I was akin to on the HP recovery disk , and essentially have it all set up as before except for now having a workable hard drive however I get the message:  "This computer is not supported by the System Recovery Discs. You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these discs.Error: 0100 - 3385 - 3078" I also tried out of interest to load my old Windows 7 disc I had and XP but had no success.  Tried booting from startup etc and various things suggested on help forums.  Please tell me I am not stuck with this version of windows.  Whilst the discs included Windows 7 it was a totally different version, this home premium one is terrible. Any help/advice would be gratefully received. Thanks

no they were both 500gb. I read about that already, I heard about creating a partition for recovery etc but this is all a bit above me , as I said I am not very technical when it comes to the working of a computer.  These discs worked perfectly before but now with the new hard drive will not load at all.  I essentially hate the Windows Home Premium verions the guy who fixed it put on, whilst the discs had Windows 7 on them the icons were way smaller, the desktop neater, the buttons different, everything was a lot more modern and I was used to it.  This version looks like something from the 90s, have to constantly adjust size of Mozilla when browsing as it is huge.  I have my own version of Windows 7 on another disc but the hard drive will not let it load either........considering waiting for Windows 10 but again unsure if this new hard drive will even let that update Thanks

  • Blocked WIndows Serial Key

    Dear Respected,
I have purchased this HP envy laptop (15-j050tx) and somehow I lost my recovery partition. Now I did a clean installation of Windows 8.1 (64-but) using Windows Media recovery tool but it is not accepting the serial Key embedded in BIOS / Motherboard. Windows is telling me that my recovery key is blocked. Yesterday talking to a Microsoft agent he told me that my windows serial key is blocked by manufacturer (HP). I donot know why HP blocked my serial key. I want to use embedded windows serial or when I install other software (Windows 8.1 Pro) downloaded from my university MSDN link it does not work and my system always fall in problems (may be getting a conflict with motherboard serial key or something else). Kindly help me in this regard and please tell me the way how can HP unblock my serial key so I can use it.

  • How to connect a second monitor/TV to HP ENVY Beats All-In-One

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is even possible to connect a second monitor to the HP ENVY Beats All-In-One Desktop PC, because I'm trying to connect my TV as the second monitor through HDMI and I've tried everything that I could, but have come up empty handed?
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
What is the model/product of your AIO machine ? I many cases, you can't use HDMI port to connect to a TV because it is HDMI IN port. You need USB - HDMI converter/adapter to connect to a TV (or monitor).
    Regards.

  • My Book 3.0 (1TB, USB 3.0) detection problem with Envy Phoenix 810-135qe

I have  a My Book 3.0 (1TB, USB 3.0)... The older My Book not the newer one... "My Book Essential" or something like that.
I was using it with W7 x64 backup utility on an older HP desktop (HP Pavilion a6560t) without issue up to the day my new HP Envy 810-135qe arrived. I downloaded the latest drivers from WD support, and the thing PnPed fine off the non-powered USB 3.0 on the back of the 810. However, the 810 drops connection after sleep, hibernation, lock, or simply just over time. I've run diagnostics on the WD and the cables, all checked out fine. I tried shutting off power saving to the USB 3.0s in device manager (just a guess), and that seemed to work for a few weeks, however I'm still having the detection issue periodically. All of my drivers are up to date on the HP side. I'm fully reformatting the WD now to see if that might somehow fix the issue (I'll update in a few days on how that worked out).
Anyone have any idea what's amiss? I suspect something with the BIOS. HP chat support has been no help (they go through the same checks I've already done myself) and they got really spooky on another chat when I asked about adding a SSD as the boot drive (I knew it was an issue from here and other forums).... Handed me off to second tier support, and all they would tell me is that they couldn't tell me anything... Basically, no support for any config except for how it was shipped because it's a "custom build" (yes, buyer's regret big time).
Secondly, anyone running a similar config with a en external back up that's running smoothly? My WD is getting old so I was thinking of one of the newer portable USB 3.0 HDDs (both 2.5 and 3.5). My specs follow.

    Anglogator, welcome to the forum.
I have the exact computer (See my signature below.).  I have installed a Samsung EVO 840 500 GB SSD.  It works absolutely great.  Samsung SSD's seem to be the only brand that boots without changing any settings in the UEFI Firmware.  If you decide to buy one, I will be glad to walk you through the installation process.
I also have a "WD My Book Essentials" 2 GB external hard drive.  It works perfectly without making any changes to the BIOS.

  • Webcam on Envy 14 Beats only detects when the display is at a certain angle

HP Envy 14t-1100 CTO beats edition
    Windows 7 64
"No webcam detected" using HP MediaSmart Webcam, webcam not showing under imaging devices in device manager
I've had my Envy 14 Beats for about 9 months, when I got it the webcam worked just fine.  A few months ago I started noticing that when I tilted the display forwad or backward I would hear the alert noise for when a usb device is unplugged, at the time I didn't think much of it.
Just recently I went to use my webcam with the MediaSmart app and got the error message "No WebCam detected, try plugging in your webcam...  yada yada."  So I went to the device manager to see if there was a driver issue, to my surprise there was no "Imaging device" category.  I scanned for new hardware, nothing turned up.  While re-adjusting my sitting position on the couch I tilted the display screen slightly forward, and to my surprise the device manager list refreshed and suddenly the "Imaging Device" category was there with the webcam listed.  I let go of the display (I was applying a small amount of pressure tilting it forward) and the usb disconnect noise beeped and the webcam disappeared from the device manager...
After a little more pushing and prodding I was able to reproduce the effect.  If I have the display at a slightly larger then 90 degree angle (100 degrees-ish) and then put a little pressure on the display tilting towards me (going from ~100 degrees to ~97) the webcam will show up in the device manager and works like there's nothing wrong.  If I let go of the display and let it sit open unassisted I get the disconnect system noise and the webcam and imaging device categor disappear from the device manager.  I'm guessing there's a loose connection in the wiring that connects the display screen to the main body of the laptop.
My question, then, is what can I do about it?  Obviously me holding the display in order to use my webcam doesn't fly, but am I going to have to send in my laptop for repair?  I bought the laptop in early december of 2010 so it's still under warrenty.  If I do have to send it in, will they wipe my hdd?
Any ideas or suggestions would be very appreciated, I know this is a wierd one, but that's just my luck I suppose.
    Thanks!
    -Jake

I have the exact same problem. And I went through it twice. The first time I had this problem, I tried to work around by tilting the display to a certain angle, but eventually the webcam stopped getting recognized and after talking to the customer care and trying system restore and even factory reset, I had to send the laptop for warranty repair. This time I noticed the problem while using Skype or Google video chat. Whenever my video is on i.e. the webcam is working, my microphone picks up a loud noise which goes away when I switch off the video. I got the same effect in HP MediaSmart webcam program too. After a couple of month like this my webcam eventually has stopped getting recognized again.
Calling customer care would only result in suggestions of system restore/ factory reset when I know that the problem is in hardware. I believe the webcam connection is very weak to handle the display tilting. I have searched the web and have fond many similar problem reported by users.
I paid a premium for this laptop a year ago and I am surprised to find the same problem getting reported even now! Hope HP works on remedying this shoddy piece of design!

  • Beats Audio HP Envy X2 11 g001el issue

Hi!I updated my 2 in 1 tablet Envy x2 to Windows 10 and It works like a charm! The only issue I have is the sound which is a real mess.I started to have problem one month ago (maybe I did something wrong with some drivers update) and the result now is terrible. Noise, scratches, low volume, everything seems to work uncorrecty, and if I turn on beats audio It goes worse.I tryed everything: system recovery, unistall the driver and reinstall, plug-in for media player, bios update but nothing seems to work. Can someone help me? I hope that with Windows 10 release HP will update the the chipset driver because sometimes I have some problem also with the graphic adapter!

Hi there ,  Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great site to get answers and ask questions. I have looked into the issue you are having with your Sound after the Windows 10 Upgrade.  Have you tried in the Device Manager to update the driver that is currently installed? Have you tried to select "Find New Hardware" in the Device Manager?Have you tried connecting headphones to see if the Sound issues persist that way?Have you tried to uninstall in the following order: 1. Uninstall the sound driver in Device Manager2. Restart your Notebook3. Reinstall the driver? You can use the HP Support Assistant for drivers. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating for Windows 10.Here is another document called Sound from Notebook Speakers is Distorted, Pops, or Hisses. Even though it says Windows 7 it is still the same steps for Windows 10.  Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues. Have you tried the Disable and then Enable method?  If not, you can find this and other troubleshooting steps in the HP Notebook PCs - No Sound from Speakers (Windows 10, 8) document.  Please follow these provided troubleshooting steps, re-post and let me know how everything went. Thank you!Have a great day!
