BECAREFUL ORDERING CALENDARS OR ANYTHNG ELSE THROUGH ILIFE!!!!!

I had the same problem others were having after installing iphoto 6. Not being able to get the "buy calendar" process to work, I deleted and reinstalled the iphoto app. This corrected that problem.
Next, I started the purchase of 4 calendars for over 112 dollars. Each time the process failed stating that my network connection failed this is during a time when I was using safari and seeing no dropped pages or slowdowns. I thought it might be another issue than the internet connection, so I kept trying as it requested me to do.
Guess what? Each attempt charged my credit card, till it maxxed out!!!
I am extremely upset that they charged my credit card so many times. I called and requested that they correct my credit card and the person on the phone told me to email iphoto support. Can you believe it? They abused my credit card and they want me to email in the issue?

I know this won't help you but thought I might give an internal perspective on Plastic Card charges. I'm a developer for a large Bank here in the UK, and i've seen a few issues (read lots) over authorizations / charges.
When you use a card in a store (online or whatever) they will request an authorization code from VISA etc. VISA pass the request onto the cardholding Bank and we return a yes or no depending on your funds. The store will then proceed or decline the transaction, but as of this point no charge has been recorded. The Banks will record a Pre-Auth charge (for us its 3 days) but until the merchant submits the actual charge we earmark the funds.
Now if the merchant does not submit the charges (as in your case) the authorizations will drop off (again its 3 days for us) but the merchant can still request the funds up to 180 days later. Also merchants can submit charges without having requested authorization (on their own head if you don't have the funds).
Now our system is such that our account holding system only holds entries that have been applied. IE only when the charge is submitted by the merchant and applied to your account. The Pre-Auth charges are held in a separate database used for authorizations.
Because of this design, the Pre-Auth charges cannot be removed until either the merchant submits the actual charge, or they drop off after 3 days.
So when our customers have this issue, what the staff do is increase your credit limit for a few days, by the amount of the ghost entries (if your an acceptable risk customer).
So yes whilst Apple are at fault for submitting the authorizations, your Bank really should be assisting you. Its their system thats causing the issues.
I'm not trying to defend Apple, its just that I can see from the internal point of view how this might occur.
However, it remains that you (as a customer) should not have to be aware of these details, the Bank should do whatever to sort it out.
Customer service really isn't that hard. Do what the customer wants, and say sorry when it goes wrong.

    Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

    Are you really still running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) as shown in your profile? If so, that's why. Full use of iCloud needs at least Lion 10.7.2 or Mountain Lion.
    If you have upgraded to Mountain Lion and forgot to update your profile, here are some things to check:
    Is it on a network?
    Is it signed into iCloud? The same iCloud Account?
    Are Contacts and "Calendars & Reminders" checked in the iCloud and same account's "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" panels of System Preferences?
    Are you looking at the correct accounts in Calendar and Contacts?

    Hi Experts,
    Please let me know how can we extract list of Sales Orders wrt SHIP TO PARTY through T Code VA05. We can select Ship to Party option through Partner function tab in selection screen, but while executing transaction, we get list for SOLD TO PARTY.
    Please advise.

    Hi,
    In the VA05 report selection screen, you have the option of selecting the relevant partner function that needs to be considered. Click on the "Partner Function" button and change it to "SH"
    Then given the ship to party number you want to analyze and execute the report.
    In the report output screen, you will see the  Ship-to Party in the header.
    In the detail level, you see the sold to party numbers. Since the report can be executed for one ship to or sold to at once, there is no requirement to see the ship to party in the line level.
    If you double click on the line, you can go to the sales order and verify your sold to and ship to details.

    I was going to suggest - Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings, but if you are restoring to factory settings, that should restore the settings back to factory defaults. But if you are restoring from a backup, after restoring to factory settings, try resetting all of the settings and see if that fixes it.
    It might be something in your backup.

    You can't get a Google Calendar subscription to sync through iCloud.
    However you can separately connect to the Google Calendar on each device.
    In iOS, simply go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars and add the Google account, with calendars switched on.
    In OS X, go to System Preferences -> Mail, Contacts & Calendars and add the Google account, with calendars ticked.

    The general rule is that the shipping address must be in the same country as the billing address of the credit card used to order. However, you can try changing the Print Products store in iPhoto's Advanced preference pane to Canada and try ordering again.

  • Creating a PDF and Ordering Calendar's Issues

    Ok, so I’m new to this iPhoto program. I have been using it to organize all my pictures, fixing red eye and such. So I decided I would make a calendar for my wife this year. I choose a template, started dragging photos and adding birth dates.
    I did notice some photos that were low resolution would have a yellow ! next to them, so I would change the picture so the ! went away.
    I then double checked everything, no warning anywhere, everything looked good, so I uploaded it to Apple, waited and now found the order was canceled due to some errors they had and told me to go through the calendar again and look for any errors or warnings, so I did. I do not see anything. Am I missing something?
    I also tried to create a PDF of the calendar, the PDF was created however there is no text on it at all.
    I went back, checked the fonts and they are all set to Default which I assume are the ones built into the system since I know if you use special fonts Apple may not be able to print it.
    Can someone help me? I know its to late to order the Calendar now so I'm thinking of bringing the PDF to Kinko’s and maybe get it created there is they can do it.

    Don't had a confirmed fix but you might try deleting the iPhoto cache folder from the User/Library/Caches folder. Restart the computer and then relaunch iPhoto. Then check the calendar via PDF and see if that helped or not.
    If you do get it fixed and printed at Kinkos post back on the results. Several users, including myself, have thrown that idea around. Good luck.

    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application, iPhoto dB file backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

    Hey all, I'm having trouble trying to order a window 7 upgrade disc.  I get through the eligibility page just fine, it's just when I try to enter my billing/shipping address, the site throws an error at me (There was an error with validating your address. Please check your info.)  I'm very sure my address is correctly entered, and I've tried different addresses as well.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Any solutions out there??

  • IPhoto 11 cannot order calendar/freeze on account preferences

    I am using iPhoto 11 on a Mac Notebook.
    Every year, my husband creates and orders a calendar through iPhoto. This year, we upgraded to iPhoto 11 and we were not able to place an order. The order pages were blank. We went to the iPhotos>Preferences>Accounts tab. Our apple ID is not there. What is there are 2 old account names I have not used in years.
    So here's the problem: I would like to delete those accounts and put in the latest account info, but every time I go to the account page, it freezes. The first ID listed is I guess a MobileMe account, and the screen shows "iDisk Usage" and I just get spinning cursor of death.
    Is there ANY way to delete these accounts so that I can order things using iPhoto again?

    Anyway for those of you who where having problems with randomizing photos during/before export (as I was when stumbled upon this thread), I came across an solution that worked for me.
    First I selected the photos from the album I had created, and exported them as original jpgs.
    Then I used this terminal script to randomly generate file names:
    for i in *.jpg; do mv $i $RANDOM.jpg; done
    Further instructions here
    Then, in order not to have duplicate versions of the photos in my iPhoto library, I created a new library, and imported the photos, with random names.
    Made an album, that sorts the photos by filename.
    Made an slideshow from that album (sorted by file name).
    Exported to QT (or whatever).
    Deleted the new temporary iPhoto library.

    Has anyone solved the problem of even being recognized by Apple after clicking on Buy Calendar?
    I have an account with 1 click enabled, but I can't even get a cursor in the highlighted Apple ID Box via Buy Calendar. The Quantity Box remains gray. I've contacted Apple and received a reply. I've tried all of their suggestions with no success. If they can't answer or fix this problem, I'll need to use the Kodak Gallery - but their calendar does not permit adding info such as birthdays to the calendar portion. So much for modern technology!

    Okay now its fixed. The order system kept asking me to "set up a new account" even though I've had one for years. I decided to go ahead and pretend to sign in and set up a new account and once I was there all my existing account data automatically populated the data fields. I went through the motions of setting up a new account (although it was using all my current account info) untl the end when I provided the new credit card account info. After all that was finished I was able to select the number of calenders I wanted, shipping options, etc, and completed processing my order. Heres hoping that all worked correctly.
