Beehive outbound email size

Hi all,
Does anyone know how to increase the potential size of email sent from Beehive? I've got several users who need to send emails with large attachments, jpg files and such, and there seems to be a barrier of about 9.5M on an outbound email.
The only setting I've been able to find that comes close on this issue is the Max Email Size parameter. It's already set at 50000000 bytes. Apparently it relates to inbound mail, as I can receive larger emails than the 9.5M.
Any help would be appreciated.
ssb

ssb,
for version >= 2.0.1.1.0 consider the fact that a new parameter has been introduced: from [2.0.1.1.0 Patch Set Readme|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/beehive/patchdoc/beehive_20110_readme.htm]
"New EmailService:CSIProperties Property Introduced
2.0.1.1.0 Patch Set adds a new property to the EmailService:CSIProperties component. The new VMSProperties property stores the name of a virtual mail server (VMS) (by default, the OutboundVMS). Oracle Beehive will apply the limits on message size and recipient count stored as part of that VMS, to all Beehive-internal (CSI) e-mail messages sent from Oracle Beehive clients, such as Oracle Beehive Webmail and OBEE.
This allows you to configure maximum message size and maximum recipient count for your entire Oracle Beehive deployment in one place (the OutboundVMS), and those limits will apply to all e-mail traffic."
Perhaps you were not looking at the relevant place?

You can prevent users from sending mail by using a little trick - you have to
set their "maximum message size" to 1k, and set the compose format to html.
It's virtually impossible these days to send messages smaller than that if html
is used (and as a practical matter a 1k message is pretty difficult in text as
    well).
You will also want to set the access control for GWIA to prevent outbound
messages, so "devices" trying to use SMTP will also be stopped at the gateway.

  • How to do debugging for sending inbound or outbound email via ERMS?

    Hi Colleagues,
I send an email to '[email protected]' with email titile 'CIM: 318238 2013', and want to display inbound email in email assignment block within CIM Service Request 10001503 in ICX. But it fails to be displayed on Web UI. And there is no problem to browse inbound and outbound emails via t-code SCOT as below.
If I send an email to '[email protected]', there is no problem to display inbound email within one CIM Service Request in ICP as below.
One related class ZSCL_CRM_ERMS_AH_CIM_CSS=>IF_CRM_ERMS_SERVICE~EXECUTE is used to implement this function, I don't know how to do debugging when sending inbound or outbound email? Could please tell me more detailed steps?
    Kind Regards
    Andie

    Hi Fabian,
    Thanks for your reply.
How can I add this method ZSCL_CRM_ERMS_AH_CIM_CSS=>IF_CRM_ERMS_SERVICE~EXECUTE to the list in t-code SM50 for doing debugging?
And another question is that I cannot attach inbound email to CIM Request via ICX email address '[email protected]', but no problem to send inbound email using ICP email address [email protected] as below. Is there any authorization issue for this case?

  • 3G camera & Photo App Still Not Working-outbound email not working properly

I have restored my 3G phone NUMEROUS times. I have restored it as new, I have restored it from Backup. Each time I deleted the previously downloaed upgrades, so that it would get them again, thinking this would fix the problem as Apple says it will MAYBE. I have done this so many times and I am SICK OF DOING IT!!!! My photos are somehow there somewhere because they are attached to my contacts, however I can not access them or my camera, as they go back to the home screen when pressed. This is the 2nd 3G phone within a 1 month period. The outbound email also stinks, as I can never consistently seem to be able to send an email. I have tried the smtp from AT&T (cwmx), GMAIL, AOL. None of them consistenly work. Also, each time I sync my phone, something is removed and I have to re-add it. I know others are as frustrtaed as I am, by reading the other posts???? My 2G phone which I only had for 5 months prior to the 3G, had no problems except for the consistently sending email problem on any smtp. My husband has that 2G now, and his camera works and he has the upgrade. The only thing he doesn't have on his phone is any extra apps. Could the 10 games I installed from Itunes be disruptive to the other features somehow? Also, I now have 8 games, cause some totally dissapeared! I am at my witts end!!!!!! APPLE HELP...CAN U PLZ SEND AN UPGRADE THAT WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM FOR GOOD! (NOT JUST A BUNCH OF LAME GUESSES AND RESTORES) ! Thanks!

Might the onset of its failure coincide with your update to iOS 7?
If they do, maybe the old app is not fully compatible with the new iOS and you need an update of it?

    Hi !
We would like to get the turn around time for an email request in the CRM 5.0 Web IC. We are able to get the timestamp of the inbound email from the Service Ticket in the business context. Is there a way to retrieve the outbound email (reply) timestamp ? This is needed urgently for reporting purposes.

    Hi,
You can create an interaction record which in other words is a business activity for emai interactions you do. You can take this create date/time of this interaction as reference to your email responses.

  • How do you get Mountain Lion Mail to show sent email size?

I upgraded to mountain lion I think a couple months ago so I don't remember exactly when I lost this feature, but in Snow Leopard for sure there was an option that when composing a new email, a little bar across the bottom of the email showed the size of your email so when you were adding attachments you could see the size your email was getting to be. I obviously haven't used that in a while because I ahvent' sent attachments in a long while, but I have recently started to do that again and tonight when I was adding files, there was no bar across the bottom of the email at all so I have no idea what size my email was. Even when I hit send and the progress bar in the bottom left of Mail ("Mail Activity") that use to show the file size right underneath the bar also now no longer shows the size so I have absolutely no idea how big the email I sent was.
Can anyone tell me how to get the option back to show the email size of the mail your composing in that little bar on the bottom of your email as well as the file size to display as you are sending in "Mail Actiivity" window? Thanks so much if anyone can help. Thank you!

  • Increasing Email Size Limits for some users

    Hi All,
For some users (management) i needed to arrange that they are able to send bigger files then the default 10MB limit to each other.
I used this procedure to do so,
    https://www.simple-talk.com/sysadmin/exchange/increasing-email-size-limits-for-your-high-profile-users-in-exchange-2010/
    In a nutshell:
Set Global Transport Org. Config to 200MB
Set Transport Send and Receive connector to 200MB
Created a Distribution group adding the MT members and me (for testing)
Created a transport Rule for the 10MB limit for all users and exception for the distribution group
(Believe me, i am not happy with the 200MB size limit)
All seems to work but i have one issue that i cannot tackel or maybe it is by design.
-Managemant can also send big files to all
users who do not have this privelige, this is not someting i want, sending 100MB+ attachments to over 150 users.
Is this by design or do i mis something?
    Thanks,
    Ron

    Hi RonGielgens,
Attachment size in exchange has to be set on
    Global settings
    Connectors (send and receive connectors)
    Mailbox
The global settings will affect all the others. of course connectors will affect specific servers and mailbox one user. You have to set the global to the absolute max size you want to allow in your organization.
after you do this you will need either to set the 10MB on each mailbox
    Get-Mailbox | Set-Mailbox -MaxSendSize 10MB -MaxReceiveSize 10MB
Then change the limit on specific mailbox
or another way is to create a transport rule that will reject the email if the attachment size it > 10MB unless the sender/recipient is the required user or group.
so basically create 2 transport rules
    1. reject messages sent to anyone with attachment > 10mb unless the recipient is userX
    2. reject messages sent from anyone with attachment > 10mb unless the sender is userX
Normal case it should not allow.
    Thanks, MAS

  • Sending outbound email with paragraphs 255 characters

    G'day all,
My problem at the moment is getting an outbound email with a body that includes continuous paragraphs greater than 255 characters. I want to be able to send an email where there is no emposed limit on a continuous paragraph.
Please note I am not interested in attachements with lengths greater than 255, it's the email body that concerns me. Simple email text ******
I've been working with inbound and outbound mails and making heavy use of Thomas Jung's blogs on the same -- Thanks so much to Thomas for these really helpful blogs, and all his posts!! --
    /people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/09/08/sending-e-mail-from-abap--version-610-and-higher--bcs-interface
    /people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/09/09/receiving-e-mail-and-processing-it-with-abap--version-610-and-higher
On this basis I'm creating a document using class CL_DOCUMENT_BCS and passing it a table based on SOLI_TAB in which includes the email body with CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF where required between paragraphs. I've been trying to use type 'RAW' as I want to keep the mails as low-tech as possible (no idea what email clients the recipients will be running).
I then pass the document to an instance of CL_SEND_REQUEST_BCS (via SETU_DOCUMENT) to send.
When the email is sent it includes an unwanted line break every 255 characters so it's not possible to have a continuous paragraph longer than 255 (the length of SOLI-LINE).
I did find a post from Thomas Jung stating that SOLI didn't impose a line break for each line (I can't find it again now due to SDN's poor search performance) but I believe this may have only been for attachments and not the mail body.
If HTM type is the only solution, I'm interested to hear about it, but I'd also like advice on how to best generate the correct HTML tags. I can include <BR> instead of CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF but I'm not sure if this will be acceptable to all mail clients.
Many thanks (and points) for any help!
    Mark

Under Usage, email size is 52 GB, yet I have cleaned everything out.  How do I reduce the size to open up available space on my iPad?

Have you tried closing the email app by double clicking the Home button and swiping the email app upwards ?
If that does not clear it, then reboot your iPad by holding the Sleep and Home buttons together until the Apple logo appears, then release both buttons and allow the iPad to restart.

  • What's the email size that is received by default on iPhone?

    Hi,
unfortunately Apple removed my previous thread as it was considered as a feature request. However, Allan Sampson provided some information about how the iPhone handles mail size with Exchange ActiveSync so the Thread actually turned into a discussion.
Allan, if you read this, did you read my additional questions regarding your reply? You said, that when an email is sent to the iPhone, only the headers (subject, sender and, if turned on, preview lines) are received and the body only gets downloaded when the message is opened by the user. I still did not understand whether you meant that this is already the case in 2.2.1 or if this changed from 2.2.1 and is only available in 3.0.
I also wrote that I tested this with 2.2.1 by sending several mails to the iPhone, then turned on plane mode and opened the mails. Even with plane mode on, I could see that the body of the mails was received by the iPhone as well. This means that not only the headers are received by default, but also some of the message's body content. At least when the mail was below 50KB, messages larger then 50KB could not be viewed and I got the message "This message has not been downloaded" instead. This however means that 50KB were always received by the iPhone and not only the headers...running 100 mails a day with 50KB each could result in really high costs when using data roaming in other countries. Users in business really need a chance to choose which messages should actually be downloaded and which not.
Could you perhaps confirm whether this has changed from 2.2.1 to 3.0 or what you actually meant with saying "This is now supported by the iPhone" (in reply to my question whether it's possible to set the maximum email size received by the iPhone)?
Or, if anyone else knows the way the iPhone handels this, I would really appreciate any information.
    Thanks
    Michael

    paulcb wrote:
It looks like you've figured it out for the current version (2.2.1)... it downloads 50k before asking for more.
    Thanks for your reply.
Well, the whole test actually turned out a little confusing, as in a later test the same messages were delivered even though they were larger than 50KB (tested with text emails at 130KB). I still don't understand these results. Anyway, 50KB is to much when using data roaming in other countries. I definitely don't wanna pay a lot of money for usless information (like newsletters and so on) when being abroad. It absolutely would help when only headers were received in the first place and the body gets downloaded when the messages is opened by the user.
Maybe Allan reads this post too and knows whether this has been changed in 3.0.

  • Access to Outbound Emails in Interaction Center

    Hello All,
In our CRM 2007 interaction centre users send emails to customers through the email component. We would like there to be a capability to view a history of these outbound emails just like there is with inbound emails in the inbox. What are the steps involved in setting up this functionality??
Or if one could direct us to any documentation out there that relates to this.
    Any advise is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

    Hello Jonathan,
Maybe you can elaborate on your requirements a bit more. For example, by default in the Interaction Center any outbound agent emails should be automatically linked to the current customer Interaction Record AND to the current One Order business transaction (e.g., open service ticket, complaint, etc.). Later you are able to view all emails (both inbound and outbound) associated with a particular Interaction and/or business transaction. Is this enough for your requirement?
Or are you somehow interested in a report or list of all outbound emails sent by a certain agent, irrespective of a particular customer interaction or business transaction? If so, there are no default capabilities in this area and I would imagine that such a requirement would require quite extensive development and code modification. Perhaps the other experts can chime in?
    Best regards,
    John

The simplest way is to contact your email server team. I know exchange can add a disclaimer to all outgoing messages.
