Been Getting Overcharged for My Broadpand Ulimited...

Hi all!. i just paid my biill the other day, toatalling £52 for the month and thought that i was paying way too much so i decided to analyse my bill.
I have been with BT for 10+ years and was getting charged nearly £30 per month for BT Broadband Unlimited Option 3.  I decided to use the online chat feature and queried the amount i was paying for this package as i noticed the price for this pacjage was only £8 per month for 1st 6 months then £15 per month therafter.
When the online live chat guy then advised me to call sales team, i raised the issue whereby i was told i was on an "old tarrif" and she would update my account onto the new tarrif (£15 per month).
As asked as to why i wasn't notified of these new tarrifs the sales advisor said "probably you weren't notified as you contract time had been obliged and you just kept paying the bill so we didn't bother to update you to the new tarrif as you were out of the contaract obligation.
While she was happy to reduce my Broadband package to the new tarrif, i've also had to sign up to a new 12 month contract. I have no problem with this as i've been a loyal customer for 10+ years but i'm not too happy about being overcharged for as long as the new contract prices came in.
I think BT have been pretty poor on this issue and was wondering if there is any way possible i could get all these extra £15 per monthly charges refunded back to when they reduced the tarrifs?
So much for being offered a loyalty package, as the customer advisor on the online chat suggested i may be offered from the sales team.
Pretty poor show in my opinion.
Anyone else been ripped off like this by not being notified of the new tarriff's and kept being chanrged the old tarriff.
If i hadn't checked yesterday, they would have just kept on charging me £30 per month for my Broadband?
I hope anyone else having this problem gets in touch. I'm wondering if OFTEL would be interested in helping me get my overcharges refunded. Any ideas?

it has been standard for ages that when you reach the end of your contract term then your revert back to standard terms on a rolling monthly contact.  It is up to you to note when your contract is due for renewal and then decide if yo want to stay or change to another ISP  you can negotiate a new deal by using the options team 0800800030.
rolling monthly contract suits some who are going to move provider but have not decided but this allows them to move at a months notice or even less.
you need to make a diary note to renegotiate your contract next year
