Been looking for NBA League Pass for a long time - anybody got any positive news ?

I bundled FIOS TV with Verizon back in the summer (2008) -
I dropped DIRECTV because I was assured Verizon FIOS TV carried NBA League Pass -
Well it is 20 games into the season now and still no NBA League Pass on Verizon FIOS TV (at least not in Northern Va)
3 weeks ago the channel guide from "MENU" on the FIOS TV remote control says NBA Channels "Coming soon" for channels 1490 to 1499 or so.
I have called Verizon at the 1-888 and 1-800 #s several times and questioned what is going on but nobody seems to knows anything ,
I even got an email from a Verizon store on November 18 that stated
"The NBA package went active on Saturday. If we can assist you in placing your order to make it go as smooth as possible please let us know".
Does anybody know what is going on ?
I think I have been patiently waiting way too long .
I hate to have to get DIRECTV or Dishnetwork on just one TV , (I bundled because I was trying to save money) but .....
Thanks for any info ,
Signed,
Extremely frustrated with Verizon

sorry I have not replied sooner but I have not checked the "forum" since I went back to DirectTV on the big screen in the basement  so I could
get NBA League Pass --
Shortly after I posted my "issue" I finally got some accurate information (I believe) from Techman - who I think is a Verizon employee -
anyway Techman seems to know more than anyone else I talked to with Verizon , and he said something about NBA LP might possibly be on Verizon
TV  -by the end of January,  but nothing "set in stone" - so ...
(I was  definitely tired of waiting way back in early November... know what I mean?)
thanks again Techman for the info

  • NBA LEAGUE PASS FOR 2011-2012 SEASON

I would like to purchase the NBA LEAGUE PASS for my father as a gift this year for the holiday season.  The NBA league is to begin on December 25th.  I would like to know if I am able to order the NBA League Pass through Verizon this year and will it be offered at a discounted rate due to the shortened season resulting from the NBA strike that occured in summer/fall of 2011?
    Thank you,
    Ed

  • Request for NBA League Pass HD selections

So youu're only going to use 5 HD channels for NBA League Pass ... any chance of aloocating them to the night's best games, rather than just the first 5 that start?  Too often fans are stuck watching the same East Coast teams in HD and only able to see the best West Coast teams in SD.

Personally  i dont see why they cant do both, show an east coast game that starts at 4:30 p.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m.,then use the same HD channel for the west coast game that starts at 7:30 p.m.  BETTER YET HOW ABOUT GIVING US EVERY GAME IN HD !!! NOW THAT BASEBALL SEASON IS OVER  NOW!!!!! WHY does verizon give NHL hockey and MLB ( HD channels and the NBA ONLY 5 HD channels? .

  • Somewhat new to technology - how to best setup my HDTV & MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) for NBA League Pass?

    Hey guys,
I'm fairly new to all this, and have only just bought my first Mac.
Can someone help me with the best setup for my Lounge Room to watch NBA League Pass?
Is Apple TV my best option? or is there another way I can watch through the NBA website wirelessly?
Currently I'm using my xbox with the Game Time app to watch games, but with this I am unable to use any of the features League Pass Premium has to offer.
Because of this, I thought it would be best to stream from my Mac via the NBA website.
Can someone let me know exactly what Adaptor I'll need to buy, and any other cables?
    TV is a Panasonic ST60.
    Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

    anyone?

  • NBA League Pass Restricted to Team Pass

I bought NBA League Pass through Apple TV using my iTunes account. But when I go to the NBA app it shows my account as Team Pass with restrictions on only watching 1 team's games.
I logged into NBA TV on my desktop and my account is definitely 'League Pass'. It also works as League Pass on my iPhone and iPad. Just not on Apple TV where I bought it from and where I want to use it.
NBA TV support has been so-so. With the best solution so far being: "have you tried turning it off and on again".
Has anyone else experienced this bug and resolved it?

I'm glad I read this...I was just about to jet to my nearby bestbuy to pick up an ATV2 for nba league pass broadband.
Not surprised at all. I have subscribed to NBA LP Broadband for the past two years and have always been disappointed in its poor implementation of delivering its content. The worst is to check into a game right after it's live feed has ended, and to be greeted by the "this game will be available for replay soon" message. This lack of "transparency" in the way content is delivered runs across the board in their poorly conceived UI interface, the cludgy log-in process (through a series of webpages), and the poor poor customer support.
They really don't care. There are no competitors, there is no pressure to improve it. Content-delivery for NBA games, and probably all professional sports, is seriously seriously broken. The only reason to own cable/satellite for me, is to watch the NBA, but it's such a waste. And if you just decide to go with the NBA LP Broadband, you miss out on all the marquee games only available on ESPN and TNT (and now NBA TV) throughout the season. And then when the playoffs roll around, you're screwed, because you can only watch the playoffs on cable/satellite.
The only moment of grace, is to watch over-the-air HD feeds of the NBA Finals, which is FREE.
I'm curious to see if Apple and the NBA can get NBA LPB working on the ATV2, but I wouldn't hold your breath. The fault probably most likely falls on the NBA's end, not Apple's, past subscribers of NBA LPB, like me, know.

  • NBA League Pass Houston Rockets are not in HD why?

I bought NBA League Pass to watch the Houston Rockets, but the games are not shown in HD High Definition, why?
I live in New Jersey, not sure if that matters.

verizon fios only has 5 hd channels for nba league pass I have been complaining for 4 years about them not having all the the games in HD,they use to only have 2 HD channels then they added 3 more a year or 2 ago! now if they would only add at least 5 or 6 more HD channels to the nba league pass then everyone would get to watch their teams games in HD.I dont understand why baseball and espeiaclly hockey gret more HD channels than basketball but i can only hope someone at verizon talks to the people at indemand to add more hd  channels soon! because i personally will be going to directv next year where ALL the games are carried inHD!!

  • NBA League Pass 2011-2012 in HD

Does anyone know for a fact whether the NBA League pass will be in HD or not for every game?
The free trial that just ended only offered the games in SD but I'm wondering if every game will be offered in HD if I subscribe to the League Pass now that the free trial is over. In the past, I believe only a game or two each night were offered in HD.

At this time Verizon only carries one HD channel for NBA League Pass (channel 1489). That channel shows the HD feed for whatever game is on Team Channel 1 (channel 1490). There has been talk of Verizon adding the other 9 HD channels for NBA League Pass, no official announcements have been made.

  • Can't watch NBA League Pass on WiFi

I am experiencing the following with NBA League Pass:
    1) On TV: I can watch all teams.
    2) On my iPad and iPhone with AT&T cellular data: I can watch all teams.  But this is too expensive, as one game will eat up 3 Gigs of data.
    3) On my computer, iPad, and iPhone with WiFi from Time Warner cable Internet: I can't watch my favorite team.  I can watch all of the 29 other teams, but not the only team I care about.  And that one team is 2,000 miles from where I live, and so it is not my local team and therefore it should not be blacked out -- but it is for all live and archived games.
    4) A Time Warner technician came to my home today and found that if I hook up my computer and Time Warner router directly to Ethernet, I can watch my favorite team on my computer.  But this is not a solution, because then I don't have WiFi at all for anything.  The technician said the problem is with my Apple Airport Express WiFi device because it is somehow blocking my favorite team and he suggested calling Apple, but my Airport Express is just now out of warranty.  He also said I could purchase a new Airport Express.
I work late and many times there is another team that plays on my team's channel for a later game, and so I need to be able to watch archived games on my computer or iPad with WiFi.  I know that games are not available for two hours after they are played, but for me all of my team's archived games are blocked for the entire season when I try to use WiFi.
NBA League Pass said the problem is with Time Warner and claimed that the proof of that is that I can watch NBA League Pass games on my iPad and iPhone using AT&T cellular data -- and so that narrowed down the problem to WiFi from Time Warner cable Internet.  I can toggle back and forth from cellular data and see the game, and then to WiFi but the same game is blacked out.  I am not using a VPN that masks my location, but NBA League Pass said there is something about my WiFi that is misreporting my location.  I tried using NBA League Pass' tool that checks my IP address location, and it shows that it is local to my area as it should.  NBA League Pass said that when someone moves there is often a problem, and I did move six weeks ago 30 miles to a new Time Warner zone.
This is frustrating because I spent $189 for NBA League Pass to watch my favorite team but can't watch many of its games.  I am also concerned that next season the same problem will occur and I won't be able to watch my favorite team on WiFi.
I am getting 33 Mbps speeds on my computer and about 27 Mbps on my Ipad with WiFi, so the speed is okay.
I am seeking help from anyone who knows how to fix this problem with watching NBA League Pass on WiFi.  Should I buy another AirPort Express (I just bought one three months ago)?  Should I dump Time Warner and go to Verizon FIOS?  Or is there a setting I can change that would solve this problem?  Thank you in advance.

  • Anyone with nba league pass getting the raptors celtics game?

do you have to sign up for nba league pass to get the preseason games? i dont want to sign up if i cant GET TO WATCH ALL MY CELTICS PRESEASON GAMES. iN PREVIOUS YEARS WITH VERIZON THEY WOULD TURN ON THE CHANNELS  for people on auto renewel automatically. but they are not turned on this year. and i'm missing a game tonight!!

the only preseaon games i have seen are on nba tv  or my local reginal sports network, but in previous years iwe always got other games on nba leagye pass during the pre season. Directv  and to my knowledge have the preseason games on the nba league pass. I'm dissapointed with verizon for not  showing these games i dont even get any  screen on those channels. I think somebody screwed up and forgot to turn on the channels and the CSRs are cluless when you call and compain! after 4 years of being with verizon their customer service relations  employees still think that the NBA CHANNEL IS THE NBA LEAGUE PASS!!!!

  • My apple tv will not authenticate my nba league pass login--I am in the United States and the same login/pw works for my iPad, but not for apple tv.

My NBA League Pass login cannot be authenticated -- I am in the United States and the same league pass name and password are working for my iPad, but not for my apple tv.

I have this same issue and am becoming quite upset. NBA has absolutely no contact information to call and resolve this issue. I just spent $139.99 and cannot connect to Apple TV, while the same login works just fine on my iMac and iPad. When I signed up, the information provided indicated that I could view live games on Apple TV. What the ****?

  • What In The World Is Going On With NBA League Pass Not Being In HD

I just read a article posted on Dec 21 about "Indemand" recentrly upgrading their systems to carry more content in HD.
    http://sportsvideo.org/main/blog/2011/12/21/in-demand-upgrades-comcast-media-center-control-room/
The upgrade was supposed to effect NBA League Pass in providing the game in HD rather than just having one HD Channel. But last night I noticed on Fios that nothing has changed. I was looking forward to buying NBA league Pass this year but I refuse to pay the same fee that other cable systems like AT&T Uverse & Direct Tv are charging top carry league pass in HD in comparison to Standard Def Fios is providing me.
I have been following this forum and news on other sites and have yet to see Verizon Fios put out any Press Release about NBA League Pass.
    What is going on!!?!?!!?!

  • NBA League Pass

So im trying to watch the nba league pass on my apple tv and it seems to be buggy. 1st off why is it when I try to switch between games that it starts back at the beginning of the game. Why doesnt it either pick back up where I left off or back to live action. 2nd, how come there isnt a option to view more then one game at a time like it is on the computer? 3rd, maybe this is a nba decision but why is some games audio only? Who the **** wants to listen to a game when you can watch it. I dont want to hear about Kobe or Lebron scoring 30 points, I want to see him do it!!! 3rd how come there isnt a option to view more then one game at a time.

NBA blackout rules may be the problem or at least I consider them a major problem. The rules apply to all versions: Apple TV, computer version, and mobile for iOS devices. The NBA should make this much clearer!
This appears to be the case: they will demand your location and use it to blackout any games that are being televised locally including cable (espn, tnt, etc.). This pretty much does away with the possible use to "cable cut".
I'd like to use my iPad to watch games while also watching tv with the wife (she doesn't watch sports). Would pay for this but most of the games I'm interested in would be blacked out: local team and one other team that is often on national cable channels.
Believe most folks assume "blackout" applies to the home team that doesn't sell out that game. This has been the rule for over the air broad casts of nfl games. NBA expands on that significantly.

  • NBA League Pass access via BT account

    Hello,
It is great to watch NBA games in BT Sport. Thanks a lot to everybody who makes it real.
    http://sport.bt.com/watchnow/programmes/bt-sport-agrees-multiyear-nba-broadcast-deal-S11363853884297
"Fans will also be able to access a free game on nba.com and NBA LEAGUE PASS International. Full schedule details of all of these digital games will be confirmed at a later date."
Still, I could not see any news about NBA LEAGUE PASS access. I checked offical NBA web site www.nba.com as well but there is nothing.
    Do you have any idea?
    Thanks

    Hi!!!!
Last weekend i registered on NBA PASS or NBA GAMETIME and on the NBA video site it had the Kings game on the Sunday free to BT Sports customers, so if you register on this site first and look out for the information for games ahead on the games screen it will come up with a game.
When you sign up, once you see it says bt game this week, it will give option to find out more click on it, and then subscribe to that match and follow whatever it tell's you from that, i didin't actually use the free game as i am already on NBA pass but i just seen it on the site, so i'm assuming this is how it's done .
    Hope that helps
If i am not breaking the rules, here is the link i was talking about.

  • Review NBA league pass in NZ

    I live in New Zealand.
Normally watch NBA live around 5pm NZ time.
I have a couple of comments:
    1) my other channels has very good connections, but watching live games I have not encountered a smooth broadcast. My view is often interrupted by error in connection every 2-3 minutes. Only very very rarely I am able to watch a full game without such frequent interruption.
    2) I opted for the more extensive subscription , but I realised youtube NBA has faster more up to date highlights or video of the Starters show than NBA league pass. Otherwise the league pass has some old games and a show by hosted by Grant Hill but only once a week, and no option or viewing it electively any time.
I have regrets subscribing to the channel. I would at least hope that (other than the better connection) as subscriber we can have more access to other NBA shows and that it would-be archived so we can access it anytime.

Ok. Just got off the phone with Verizon and here is their answer:
"The NBA League Pass will be shown in HD once the Free Trial is over. Direct TV and Comcast are not offering the games in HD either until the Free Trial is over."
I don't know if there is any truth to this because you would think they would show the games in HD for the free trial to get more people to purchase the league pass. Sounds fishy. Then he tried to get me to sign up today for the league pass after I just told him I did not want it unless the package was in HD.
I'm going to wait until after the free trial is over and ask some of my buddies if all the games are in HD.
He tried to convince me to order it and he'll make a "note" on my account to refund all my money for the league pass if it is not in HD. You can only imagine what aheadache that would be trying to get my money back.
