Before/after view

Hi, I am running LR 4.3 on an iMac, everything ok apart from the Before/after view seems to have lost the symbol of the full picture which you click on to return to the main picture that you are working on. Any ideas please?
LEAVE ME ALONE! Ihave found the problem, little triangle far right, near sync metada, I had the wrong view mode!! This is my first week on this. Thanks

I thought of it as nice feature when I found out. Very helpful.

  • Before/After view on second Monitor

    It's possible to have Before/After view on the second Monitor?

    No.
    Why? You can't have develop on the second monitor anyway.

  • Before/After views in Develop module

    In RSP you could easily see the difference between ALL your corrections and the original file. As easy as undo/redo.
    I know that there are several ways to view this using the before/after split screen tool. But I want to see the changes for the whole image at once. I could work around it by making snap shots and such. But I would prefer the other way...

    As an additional thought, how about making the before / after clever, making it able to put the images above and below for landscape and left right for portrait? Very simple to do, but drives my mad

  • RE: Before & After View

    Hello Everyone.
    In the Past month, I been watching online Tutorials on Lightroom..  I noticed Inside the Lightroom there is the  Before and After View, By clicking on Y Key. I found this Interesting. Why we don't have this Before and After View option Inside the Photoshop ?
    Thanks.

    animationlife wrote:
    ... It would have been great If we could have done this Inside the Camera Raw, But I don't think It works with Camera Raw.
    A couple of potential ways to d this in camera raw:
    If you want to compare image after your acr edits with the 'before' image as it was when you opened it in this camera raw session, use the flyout menu to toggle between (check on) Image Settings (initial settings on open into acr) and Custom Settings (image with your acr edits since  opening image in acr).
    Another way is to make named snapshots.  Then select different snapshots as desired to display the different views.

  • Merge to HDR Pro - before/after view

    In the Merge to HDR Pro dialog, after making adjustments with the settings, is there a quick way to toggle and see the image before adjustments and after adjustments, before closing the dialog?

    Zeno,
    Thanks. I tried converting to 32bit/channel while in the Merge to HDR dialog, then opened the image in Photoshop, but still don't see how to get a before/after preview. How does this work exactly?

  • Before/after viewing options

    Hi all,
    Sometimes I get the option to view "before" and "after" versions by clicking down on the left-hand side just above the Project Bin -- and sometimes it's not there.  Does anyone know why that is only sometimes there?  And a way to put it there when it's not?  I use PSE 10 as the external editor of Aperture, and everything I edit in PSE 10 comes from Aperture.
    Thank you.

    That "before and after" option is only available when you use the "Guided Edit" feature -- it uses a modified version of the Editor's window.  Think of it as a feature-specific workspace.
    As far as I know, there's no way to get that functionality in the Full Editor window, unless you open an independent copy of the image you're working on.

  • BUG Before/After Function stopped working after Convert Photo to DNG

    Hi,
    I just converted all my photos to DNG using Lightroom's Convert Photo to DNG function and the Before/After " \ " function (in Develop module) is not working anymore... same problem in Lightroom 3.0
    regards,
    Danny

    I processed a Nikon .nef raw file in Lightroom
    .  Then I went to the Library Module under
    Library and chose Convert to DNG.  After the conversion
    the complete history was still available.  However, the Before/After function using \ or Before/After Views did not work.  It was necessary to click on the History State to compare views.  Using the Before/After Views, the original could be compared to the processed view by clicking on the Import state.
    This will not be a problem if the files are converted to DNG during initial import.
    I also recommend backing up originals and all processed files along with the Lightroom database on a least two drives on location and another off-site.

  • Before/After Histogram

    In another thread (can't exactly recall which one) someone stated that the histogram could be checked while comparing the Before/After view.
    However, when I hit the "\" key it doesn't change. Only the (double) RGB numbers reflect the adjustments. Is there a setting somewhere that I missed?

    One way in which it sort of works: choose one of the Before/After views so you see both the before and after photo, and then swap them back and forth.

  • Merge to hdr pro before and after views

    After making adjustments with the sliders in the HDR  Pro dialog, is there a way to goggle before and after views of the merged image?

  • Before and After View

    When I'm in my Develop module and I look at some of my edited photos my before and after view is not showing.  Sometime I see the original for a second then it resorts to the edited.  Now this is happening to some of my collection cause in some collection they are working just fine.  Can some explain to me what is happing.
    thanks

    That's not it. I'm not sure what your talking about or we are talking about two different things. All the files in the collection are before and after are the same this is evident on some other folder in the collection.
    I think I figure out the problem
    Go to the History located  on the left side of your canvas, above the Copy and Paste buttons.  You should see Preset, Snapshot, History and Collection.  They should have a + beside to expand.  Go to History (this is a list of all you edits you made on the image) Go to the bottom where it says import of the file. This is the start point of your file.
    Right mouse click on the import xxxx xxxx file ( or how ever you saved your file name). Highlight "Copy History Step Settings to Before."
    There you go your good to go
    I don't know how to do this on all the images with this problem in the folder all at once.  I just do it individually.

  • Mis-matched color in Before and After views

    I recently purchased and installed LR 2.1 on a new HP 2.4 gb Vista 64 bit. 4 gb mem. Nvidia GeForce 9300GE card. Single LCD monitor. All updates installed.
    While looking at an unedited Canon raw file in before and after I noticed that the gray was a little darker in the before view than in the after. I created a gray image in PS CS3 and took a look and it was the same.
    This view can be very helpful but misleading if the colors will not match.
    Any suggestions to a cure?
    Thanks, Richard

    Try generating a Matrix profile instead of a LUT-based profile (a setting in the i1 software I believe). Somebody else reported a problem in shadow colors when using LUT-based profiles.
    There can be a difference because the before view is based on the preview which is usually stored as a jpeg in adobeRGB space and the after view is rendered from the linear prophotoRGB space that Develop uses. It is possible that you're simply looking at artefacts because of that.

  • Any way (event) to call Java method after view created in JSF 2.0

    Hi,
    I am using JSF 2.0 Mojarra's implementation.
    I am interested to know if there is a way to call Java methods before and/or after view has been restored.
    I wanted to initialize data for my page in this Java method.
    I could see there is an event class PostRestoreStateEvent added in JSF 2.0. How to use it?
    I tired to use f:event element as below, but it does not work. Can anyone share anyother idea to achieve this behaviour?
    <f:metadata>
    <f:event type="postRestoreState" listener="#{employeeLoadBean.loadAfterRestoreView}"/>
    </f:metadata>
    Regards,
    Kishore K S

    Hi,
    The problem is solved as below.
    <f:metadata>
    <f:event type="javax.faces.event.PostRestoreStateEvent" listener="#{employeeViewEventListener.postRestoreState}"/>
    </f:metadata>
    The above calls the Java method #{employeeViewEventListener.postRestoreState} whenever View has been restored.
    It was not working when shortName of the event (ie., postRestoreState) is given and throwing ClassNotFound exception.

  • How do I get back my Before/After Icons?

    The icons for the before and after view have disappeared on my lower menu bar.  They were always displayed just above the thumbnails at the bottom of my screen, and now they are gone.
    How do I get them back
    I appologize for this simple question in advance, but I've looked through the help, searched for an answer, and no luck.

    Genius!!
    I must have hit a T while working.  I don't see this documented anywhere.  I'll have to write it down somewhere.

  • Brush no longer active between before/after toggle - bug

    1. Start a brush adjustment
    2. Toggle before/after (using the / key) in the view that does NOT show the split screen
    3. When you return to the 'after' view (before => after) the current brush mask will be disabled. By disabled I mean that the little bullet that shows the brush mask is in the unselected state. I have to click the brush bullet to reactivate the brush mask and continue my masking.

    When you use a plug-in or an external editor, you break the lossless workflow. Aperture will create a new original file(a psd or tiff file) from the version you are editing. And this new original will be sent to the plug-in, and this original will be the one you are seeing when you toggle with "M". So after a roud-trip to the external editor, you can anly toggle back to the new quasimaster(original) with "M", not all the way back to the imported original.
    You cannat avoid this, only by doing all edits with Aperture provided adjustment tools and avoiding external edits.

  • After viewing 5 to 10 minutes of video window 7 slows and shut down.

    I'm running Flash player with chrome under Window 7 home basic 64-bit on a Dell N5010 and have this problem: After viewing a Flash movie, my system slows to a crawl, while CPU usage (per Task Manager) shows nearly 100% -- even after I quit chrome -- and
    even when I am doing only mundane things like opening a text file in Notepad.  Only re-booting helps then.
    After some days it induced a new problem: After viewing 5 to 10 minutes of flash movies (from web dailymotion etc), my system would suddenly power off with no warning.
    So I completely uninstalled Flash Player and reinstalled Flash player--the latest version, straight from Adobe--and as soon as I played my first movie, the CPU usage shot up and stayed up around 80% even though I was doing nothing! Task Manager says that
    it's all going to ordinary things that shouldn't take any time. It will be OK after I reboot, until I play my next video (note: youtube works fine).
    why is this happening and how can I prevent it?  I'm getting tired of re-booting just to get my computer back after each web site which pops up a movie.

    Hi prajag,
    I agree with btitishdhez ,you may need to work with another browser to check whether this issue is related to the browser.
    “After viewing 5 to 10 minutes of flash movies (from web dailymotion etc), my system would suddenly power off with no warning.”
    When this issue occurs again, please check the Event Viewer to collect error messages of this
    suddenly power off event.
    Apart from this ,I recommend you to check whether the Flash Player have been removed totally before you reinstalled the Flash player. The Flash Player has a specialized uninstall program.

    To analyze this issue deeply, I recommend you to use process explorer and monitor task manager to find which process occupies the high CPU.

    To get into Diagnostic mode.
    Run “Msconfig” and choose Diagnostic Start up.
