Before and After Thumbnails/previews.

I've notice in some cases while importing my images into Aperture the look of each image changes. I can watch as Aperture goes down the line of thumbnails and each image seems to change the exposure or more likely an aspect of the nef decode. Often I like the image without this change. The initial look more closely resembles the in camera look.
Is there a way to prevent this from occurring?
Thanks,
BobM

When the thumbs/previews are first displayed they are using the camera generated JPG preview embedded in the file. There is no way to keep it that way.
You could turn off all previews and check use camera preview where possible but this will do you no real good. If you want those JPGs you are better off shooting RAW+JPG and importing them.

    Hi Crushed,
    Numbers doesn't have pages. It has a canvas that holds objects such as tables and charts.
    Drag the objects from the bottom of the canvas onto the white space above. That will reduce the number of "pages" (sheets of paper) that will print.

  • Hi, Just switched from CS6 to PS CC. I am used to using ACR in CS6 with it's preview checkbox in the upper  right-hand corner. I do not see that checkbox in PS CC. I see that they have added side-by-side, right and left and top and bottom before and after

    Hi,
    Just switched from CS6 to PS CC. I am very comfortable using ACR in previous versions. I liked to use the preview checkbox located in the upper right-hand corner to see before and afters. That checkbox is no longer in my version of PS CC. I see that they have side-by-side, top and bottom and right and left before and after options in the lower right-hand corner in this version. Is there anyway to get that legacy preview checkbox back so that I can use it?

    Hi Warunicorn,
    Thank you very much. I just could not find it on my own. I will have more questions as I get into it.

  • Theme looking different before and after previewing an advanced style

    Hello,
    i have a problem with a theme looking different before and after previewing an advanced style in mapbuilder Ver11_1_1_5_B110527
    My style xml looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <AdvancedStyle>
        <CollectionStyle>
          <style name="color_style" shape="polygon"/>
          <style name="line_style"/>
      </CollectionStyle>
    </AdvancedStyle>It is a combination of a color style and a line style styles:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <svg width="1in" height="1in">
        <desc/>
        <g class="color" style="fill:#B6D1CA">
            <rect width="50" height="50"/>
      </g>
    </svg>
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <svg width="1in" height="1in">
      <desc/>
      <g class="line" style="fill:#969696;stroke-width:2;stroke-linecap:BUTT">
        <line class="base"/>
      </g>
    </svg>The styles and theme are created using insert statements, and not the mapbuilder.
    When i take a look at the theme preview in mapbuilder, it will look like this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22117905/before_preview.PNG
    Now i open up the advanced style and hit the preview button.
    If i take another look at the theme preview, it will now look like this (and this is the desired output btw.): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22117905/after_preview.PNG
    Now my question is, why does the same theme look different, after previewing the advanced style?
    I tried clearing the cached geometries and metadata cache of mapviewer, but that didn't help.
    Apart from previewing every style, what can i do to make sure that the themes are styled correctly?
    Thanks for help in advance,
    Dirk

    Hello Joao,
    i just found the error. It is in my pl/sql package where i create the styles.
    Mapbuilder showed the staly as in my first post, but that i created looks like this
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <AdvancedStyle>
        <CollectionStyle>
          <style name="color_style" shape="polygon"/>
          <style name="line_style" shape="all"/>
      </CollectionStyle>
    </AdvancedStyle>Notice the "shape=all" attribute in line_style. Apperently Mapbuilder doesn't like it, if i set this in the style. After previewing or saving the style in mapbuilder, the sttribute is removed and the style is correct.
    I now edited my package and rerun it, and now the themes are displayed correctly.

    Dirk

  • Merge to hdr pro before and after views

    After making adjustments with the sliders in the HDR  Pro dialog, is there a way to goggle before and after views of the merged image?

    Zeno,
    Thanks. I tried converting to 32bit/channel while in the Merge to HDR dialog, then opened the image in Photoshop, but still don't see how to get a before/after preview. How does this work exactly?

  • An extra page prints before and after a page with the data, why?

    If I go to www.allrecipes.com, select a recipe and click on the Print button, FF prints an extra blank page before and after the recipe. The recipe is short and easily fits on a single page. I've changed all the print settings so that even the Header & Footer info is set to "Blank".

    I don't understand why blank pages are generated, but I can help you with a quick hack if you like. This will strip off everything but the actual recipe area so that you can streamline the printout.
    After you load the page and select your options:
    * Open Firefox web console using Ctrl+Shift+k
    * Next to the caret (>) paste the following script then press Enter to run it:
    var rectbl = document.querySelector(".pageback table.recipeprinttable"); document.body.insertBefore(rectbl, document.body.firstChild); while(document.body.children.length>1) document.body.removeChild(document.body.children[1]);
    * Close the web console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+k again
    When you preview the page, it should look ready for printing. Any luck?
    Obviously that's not very convenient if you print a lot of recipes from this site, so you could save the script as a bookmarklet. Here's how:
    First, copy this slightly modified script (select, Ctrl+c):
    javascript: var rectbl = document.querySelector(".pageback table.recipeprinttable"); document.body.insertBefore(rectbl, document.body.firstChild); while(document.body.children.length>1) document.body.removeChild(document.body.children[1]); void 0;
    Next, if you are not displaying the Bookmarks Toolbar, you can display it using either:
    * right-click a blank area of the tab bar > Bookmarks Toolbar
    * tap the Alt key > View menu > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar
    Right-click on the Bookmarks Toolbar and choose New Bookmark.
    Paste the code into the Location box (the second box).
    Then type a useful name in the Name box (e.g., AllRecipes) and click Add.
    Now, when you want to hack the page, click the button to run the script.

  • Appointments one hour ahead of appointments created in iCloud - both before *and* after the shift from daylight savings time

    I am in the CET timezone and my Lumia 925 on 8.1 has consistently shown appointments one hour ahead of appointments created in iCloud - both before and after the shift from daylight savings time here.
    My disappointment is compounded by the fact that I patiently waited for October, naïvely thinking the clockchange would solve things... doh.
    Look forward to your earliest solution.
    Jonny.

    There is a separate thread on this subject. It's a bug in Windows Phone 8.1. It is fixed in the upcoming Windows 8.1 Update 1 release (due Nov/Dec 2014). Alternatively, you can install the developer preview (go to Store and search for 'preview for developers'.
    You have to register as a developer though (easily done through appstudio.windows.com) or you can wait for your phone vendor (Microsoft / Nokia) to release the 'Denim' upgrade.
    For now, I don't know a decent workaround.

  • Mis-matched color in Before and After views

    I recently purchased and installed LR 2.1 on a new HP 2.4 gb Vista 64 bit. 4 gb mem. Nvidia GeForce 9300GE card. Single LCD monitor. All updates installed.
    While looking at an unedited Canon raw file in before and after I noticed that the gray was a little darker in the before view than in the after. I created a gray image in PS CS3 and took a look and it was the same.
    This view can be very helpful but misleading if the colors will not match.
    Any suggestions to a cure?
    Thanks, Richard

    Try generating a Matrix profile instead of a LUT-based profile (a setting in the i1 software I believe). Somebody else reported a problem in shadow colors when using LUT-based profiles.
    There can be a difference because the before view is based on the preview which is usually stored as a jpeg in adobeRGB space and the after view is rendered from the linear prophotoRGB space that Develop uses. It is possible that you're simply looking at artefacts because of that.

  • Comparing pictures before and after adjustments

    Dear all,
    I'm about to switch from the Canon software DPP to Camera RAW.
    In DPP it's possible to split the view in order to compare the same RAW picture with different adjustements. This possibility is very valuable to me.
    Is it possible to split the view in Camera RAW ?
    If not, how do you manage to compare the original picture to the one you obtain after having made your adjustments ?
    Thank you for your answers,
    Cédric

    Each adjusment panel in ACR has a Preview box you can check or uncheck to view the adjustments you have made in that panel.
    Alternatively, you can simply toggle the "p" key to see the difference in your image before and after the adjustments. But in either case, this before/after comparison is limired to the adjustments made only in the panel you are currently working in.
    However, if you switch to the Presets panel and toggle the "p" key, this will show you the difference between the image as it was initially opened in ACR and after all adjustments made in all panels.

  • "Effects" before and after

    Hello all,
    Is there anywhere I can go to see the "before" and "after" views of all effects? I am not yet familiar with all of the effect jargon, so if something like this exists it would save alot of time! (if it doesn't exist, I'm sure you guys could make loads from advertising as ppl like me would flock to those pages en masse).
    Thanks,
    Christie

    The effects previews in Illustrator are not as advanced as in Photoshop. For example you have a outer glow effect, you turn preview on, all works great. now turn the preview off, and it is still on. So you cant toggle for most of them.  In sumamry Illsutrator effects previews can be buggy.
    For the bitmapped effects I try to do them instead in Photoshop. EG: Outer glows distance and lightness are more accuratey previewed in Photoshop, even if you have doc raster settings set to 300 dpi. . Glow in Illustrator does not have a distance setting either, Illustrator slows down when using bitmapped effects.

  • How do I add a before and after transition to a standalone clip in the second or other than primary stack?

    New to FCPX on a project this weekend. I have gotten reasonably comfortable with the basic features but one thing that I CANNOT figure out, is how (what used to be) selecting a track in the timeline to activate it to apply a transition.  I need to select a video clip which stands alone in the stack which is positioned above the primary track and add a blend transition before and after the clip. I have set the opacity to blend with the images in the primary track below but the beginning and end of the clip in the second stack do not fall at the transition points in the lower track which should not matter anyway.  I can’t find it in Help or the third party tutorials that I purchased and completed.  Thanks for your help!

    Tom gave you the answer.  As a follow-on you can then use the Cross Dissolve transition on your newly converted connected clip.  This transition will allow it to dissolve smoothly into the video below it.  Note that the Fade to Black transition will take both that clip and the video below it to black which would probably be undesirable. Use Cross Dissolve instead.  Best wishes.
