Thanks for the question. Yes, you can still add your own Album Artwork to music in iTunes:

Do any of the following:
- Add artwork to one item at a time:
          1. Select an item in your iTunes library and choose File > Get Info.
          2. Click Artwork and do one of the following:
                    - Click Add, select an image file, and click Open.
                    - Drag the art file to the artwork area.
          3. To add artwork to another item, click Next or Previous.
- Add the same artwork to multiple items: Select the items, choose File > Get Info, click Info, and drag an image file to the Artwork area.
- Retrieve album artwork for songs in your library from the iTunes Store: Control-click the songs and choose Get Album Artwork from the pop-up menu.

Thanks, Jim, for taking the time, but the reply is unfortunately vague in the exact area of my confusion! "you need to copy that file to your new computer..." Well, the Import/Export instructions make it seem as if the two computers should be able to communicate this file thru wifi, but that's the linkage I can't seem tocreate with Import/Export. Should I instead email a copy to myself (thats what applecare suggested)? Copy it to and from a thumb drive? But then place the file where? And the article was helpful, but should I be trying to move the Library file or the Library.xml file (as iTunes Help suggests)? Sorry to be so clueless about it...I suppose I buy Apple in the hopes of not having to think about this stuff, which approach seems not to be serving me well. Thanks again for your time!

If you had backed up and restored your library properly you should have ended up with the playlists too. Did you import the media folder from the backup drive into a new library rather than restoring the entire iTunes folder?

Was able to transfer itunes music from an external drive to a computer, but cannot listen to it without external drive being connected. There are "!" next to the transferred music.

Select a single song with a broken link, press CTRL+I to Get Info, cancel when asked to locate the track and take a look at the Summary tab. Post back where iTunes is looking for the file. It begins file://localhost

My Macbook Pro began crashing when I tried running safari. An error message came up asking that I repair the HD volume. Before I was able to run repair, computer shut down. Now I can not get it to boot. I tried booting in safe mode to no avail. Pls help.

Recently, my mid 2010 MacBook Pro has started acting up when I am on Safari. Safari would unexpectedly crash multiple times in a row, then run fine for a while, then again, crash repeatedly. Not long after this began happening, an error message from my Prosoft Drive Genius 3 software, threw out a message that a serious error had occurred and I needed to repair the HD volume. Before I was able to run the software to repair the HD volume, the machine stopped working. I turned off the Macbook and when I tried to restart, it would not boot. I have since removed all external hardware from my machine and tried several times, unsuccessfully, to boot. I have also tried booting in safe mode when also does not work.
Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Try SMC reset:
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time. (four keys together)
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

IPhone messed up before I was able to back it up, it messed up my apps...

I had been experiencing various app crashes and a general slow-running system on my iPhone, so I decided that it would be best if I restored it. However, before I was able to do so, my iPhone completely crashed and I was forced to do a restore without properly backing it up. This was not a very smart move on my part, as I had downloaded several apps (some of which were 'free for a limited time') on the iPhone which weren't transferred to my computer. One of these apps in particular, which was free for a limited time, I used frequently. I was wondering, as I did download it and was using it for over a month, if there is a way that I can re-download that app without having to pay for it (now its price has returned to normal). I know that the original price is not very expensive - and if paying is the only way to get it again, I am fine with it - but I was just wondering if there was a chance that I could download it for free. if you don't have a backup of your itunes/Mobile Applications folder which was part of your regular PC -backup routine or a backup of your iphone backup, you'll probably have to buy the app again. Even if you show the developers of the app your itunes download history, you would be very lucky if they grant you a second download for free.

I have an iPod Touch but I currently don't have a PC. I found an app that would allow me to connect to my network drive and I was able to transfer music files to it. These files do not show under the Music app and I can't find any way to do it.

Unfortunately, these new files do not show under the Music app and I can't seem to find any way to convince the iPod that they are music. I can play them through the file manager only. Android doesn't have this problem, any music I put on my phone is recognized as music and can be played through any of the music apps. Am I missing something or is Apple to inflexible to handle this?

You can't. The only way to get songs in the Music app is to sync from a computer or to download from iTunes.

I have Vista (don't laugh) and my videos are transferred over when I plug in my phone. They don't open up in Winodws Picture Viewer though.
They are under my Photos, under the date created by the sync. Do a search I'm sure you'll find them.

You can hide them via your computer's iTunes : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases - Apple Support
The 'x' might not show on their top left corner (it might be invisible), but clicking where it should be should hide the app.

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
