BEFW11S4 v4: When connect wirelessly internet drops.

Ok basicially the laptop is connected via wire to my computer which uses XP.
Everytime I try to conenct my laptop wireless using windows 7 the internet drops after about 5 seconds when it connects on both devices. Same thing just happened when tried to connect it with Wi.
Last time I tried this was a during Christmas holidays and I had no problems with it whatsoever, worked like a charm and had multiple connections but know its being stubborn.
In addition my dad told me that everytime he connected his laptop on it it gave him trojans.....I doubt this myself but said just incase.
Any ideas?

Login to the Router setup page and below change the Wireless settings of your Router.....
Change the Wireless Channel to 11-2.462GHz...and let the Wireless SSID Broadcast should be Enable and click on Save Settings...
Once you are done with the settings then you can try to connect to your wireless network... Once you are done with this settings, then try to connect to your wireless network...
If still the same problem then you can try to upgrade the firmware of your Router.

  • Loop drops when connected wireless (NI 9191)

    Hi,
I cannot figure out why a NI cDAQ 9191 chassis has connection drops when connected wireless and works
    perfectly when connected thru LAN.
I wrote a little test VI to check the connection accuracy. The chassis has a NI 9375 I/O module plugged in.
A Moxa AWK3121 is used as wireles access point. What I do is check 5 digital inputs and control 3 digital outputs.
The outputs are continuously placed on/off at a different rate. I use an event loop and a main loopt that communicates
to the chassis at a loop rate of 10ms.
The chassis, laptop and Moxa A.P. are all close together on my desk. The Wifi signal is excellent.
Now, the code i written is probably not optimal.
But...  If I start with connecting the chassis with a LAN cable to my laptop, Wifi Disabled, Linked Local. The communication is perfect.
No drops between the loops and the real time.
No communication errors. Runtime was 52 minutes.
Second test. Connected the chassis to the Moxa A.P. with LAN cable. Laptop connected wireless to the Moxa A.P.
Chassis still in Link Local. Ik can access the chassis in MAX. No problem.
When I run my test, I immediately see loop pauzes. After one minute there can be already a difference of 20 sec.
between calculated looptime and real time. Sometimes the active light on the chassis goes off and on.
When the active light is out, the loop is on hold. (Wich is normal as I assume the DAQ VI's are waiting for response.)
After appr.10 minutes the error -50405 "No Transfer in progress because transfer was aborted by client".
If I look at the timings there is already a difference of more then 5 minutes between the loop timing and the real time.
As last I tested with the chassis and the PC connected wireless to the Moxa A.P.
I did not get the -50405 error, but again loop drops. After 10 minutes there was a shift of 2 minutes.
Has anyone experience with wireless connections with the NI 9191 chassis?
Can I change my code? Did I mis something? (I'm a newbie to Labview)
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Frankie.

I am not clear on whether you are connecting the two together "in it's own little network" (which implies "router" and not "AP") or if you are connecting to the LAN through the wireless device (in which case it is entirely appropriate to refer to the wireelss device as an "AP").  Your last post about hot spots is what confused me.
But as you said, the biggest worry is the active light.  Try using a different router/AP.  I've seen routers overheat and reset themselves before due to inadequate heat sinking.  i.e., Someone (not me, I swear!) dropped the AP and knocked the heat sink off the chip.
As for the delay, if you are indeed using the Moxa as an AP, are you sure you're connecting to your AP?  If you're connected to a hotspot instead, your throughput will be at least halved - and maybe even 1/4 bandwidth if your AP happens to have connected to a different hotspot than you did.  If you are using it as a router, try differnt bands or channels to see if you can get around any interference your company wireless network might be generating.
In general, conclude that wireless isn't the best way to connect test devices together.

  • Siri has lost volume when connected to internet. all else works perfectly even siri when off the internet

Tech support said it is a beta system and no guarantee to get it fixed.  When I called the Apple store they were not aware that Siri is Beta.  Now I have to drive many miles with my new    Ipad to try to get it fixed. OR replaced.  They don't make it easy.  MyI phone took three vists and two replacement phones to have an operational system.  APPLE  will not even allow for any compensation for their problem.  NO "gifts" to make up for the miles and the time the problem causes you. I have bought Apple stock and now see it dropping and it will continue to drop if they do not change their customer service.  This is not the old Apple which I based my whole office on.  In the past year two purchases. I phone 4s and the new IPad .  Both with problems requiring my efforts, car travel, and time to try to get fixed.
Does anyone have a solution to the loss of volume on the siri function that only occurs when connected to the internet?  All other functions have full volume Don

If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.

  • Blue Screen when connecting to internet

I have this problem: blue screen appear in Win XP randomly when i try to connect to internet using a Genius modem. The error notification is this:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LES_OR_EQUAL
    Tehnical information:
    ***STOP: 0x000000D1 (0X00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
    Beginning dump of phisical memory....."
First i suspected a memory issue, so i tested it with Memtest 86 but didn't find any errors. I run 3DMark 2001 several times with no errors, 3D games runs also without problems. I put the modem in 3rd PCI slot, the 4th is occupied by the network adapter and the 5th slot by the SB Audigy (with the newest drivers installed from Creative web site). There is an IRQ sharing between the network adapter and an USB host controller used for a Logitech Steering Wheel. CPU temp never exceed 50C, Dinamic Overclock is disabled and Performance is set to slow.BIOS is 1.3. Since i have this motherboard, (six days) i have this very annoyng problem 1 of 4 times i connect to the internet.
Please, if you do have any suggestions i need some help.

I researched this a bit, with my very similar error.
I can tell you this much with certainty--that blue screen is a driver problem. Maybe in your case Norton FW is bringing it out, but it is probably a conexant chipset in your modem, and you are getting the same end result as me.
They haven't released, at least that I can find, a driver for this modem chip set that correctly handles irq sharing. Conexant is what's inside of a suprising number of modems, and the software (base driver from them to the modem OEM) is old.
Pretty sure Danny's on the right track with hyperthreading being the problem. The other possibility is the whole complicated HAL/APIC deal. Toss in some other HAL acronyms.
But hyperthreading is a more recent development, so I will give it a shot, soon. Don't feel like crashing at the moment. But if that is the answer, I'm not going to turn off HT. Nope, the modem will be stuck with the generic 56k MS driver, which works ok, sorta, just doesn't report speeds right, or do compression and error handling right. Or 56K for that matter. OK, it's a bonejob, but I need HT more than a dial-up.
    Unless somebody has some ideas.
One day I will take out my collection of really crappy modems and shoot them. Do a web page. I now have 5.
Don't buy Bestdata. 2 year old driver and they want money to talk to tech support. Brand new. Says XP PRO on the box.

  • Can't see printer or shares when connected via Internet Sharing

I recently switched from a 2006 to a 2008 Mac Pro. Rather than do a migration I simply took the hard drives from the old machine and put them in the new one.
I then upgraded to Mountain Lion.
I use Internet Sharing to share my Mac Pro's Ethernet connection via wifi, but the other Macs can't see the Mac Pro's printer or shares when connected in this way. They can access the internet. If I connect a machine via the LAN rather than Internet Sharing, the shares and printer are visible.
This worked fine on Lion on the old machine. Any ideas?

Seems that the issue is something to do with connecting via WPA2. When I set Internet Sharing to use WEP (by option-clicking the security menu), I'm then able to see the network shares and the printer.

  • MSI MS-6390LE-L reboots when connecting the internet

Built a new system with the MSI  MS-6390LE-L motherboard based on the KM266 chipset and Athlon CPU. It is rebooting when connecting to the internet (installed a SonicBlue Supra PCI modem). Now I read the small print burried in the specs that states: Must use proprietary PCI Modem card with PCTEL solution.
However there is no listing of modems on your site that will work! Does any  brand and model PC-Tel chipset modem work, if not then do any CNR modems work?

  • MBP freezes when connected to internet

    Hi all,
My 2011 MBP has continually frozen when connected to the internet for going on 5 months now. Bizarrely, it is the only computer in the house that is affected, and it is only on this network that the problem occurs. When connected to other networks, the laptop functions as normal.
With regard to the freeze, I can still move the cursor around the screen (although it becomes a beachball), however any programs I have open become unresponsive and I am unable to open any new ones. This includes Finder. Further, I am unable to login when connected to my home network, instead stuck on the user login window (the part with the blue bar after I've logged in).
I'm somewhat reluctant to reimage it, and so any other ideas would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Just to update this thread with what I've posted elsewhere:
On my machine this problem only happens if the computer has been put to sleep before being connected to a projector. That is, put to sleep after being booted but before connection to the computer. It can be connected after booting without sleep. Once it has been successfully connected to a projector, it can be disconnected, put to sleep, awakened and reconnected with no problem.
I think that this "first sleep after boot" issue is what makes the occurrence of this problem so variable.
Some people just leave their computer on for long periods, only putting it to sleep when not using it. If they connected to a projector before putting it to sleep the first time they wouldn't see this problem.

  • WRT54G router locks up when connecting wirelessly to a Samsung Blue Player

My WRT54G  router locks up 100% of the time when attempting to connect connect wirelessly to a Samsung Blue Player (Model number BD-P3600). I can connect to it with a cable no problem, but when I attempt to do so wirelessly and type in the password on the Blue Ray player, it attempts to connect but the router locks up and all devices connected to it (wired or wirless) lose connectivity. Any ideas?

    Try the following steps:
    # Open up the browser and on the address bar type 192.168.1.1 that will open up the Router setup page.
    # Then Click on wireless Tab select Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 6, 9, and 11. Click Save Settings.
#Adjust the following advanced wireless settings:
~~ Lower the beacon interval from 100 to 50
~~ Lower the fragmentation threshold from 2346 to 2306
~~ Lower the RTS threshold from 2347 to 2304
    Then check the connectivity status..

  • BSOD appears when connected to internet :(

This is the image, I get when connected to the network at school, without any warning. I have never noticed the same when at home or other places.
And I haven't been able to find out the exact reason behind this.

Some boxes for whatever reason seem to struggle in this way with the latest software update. Mine has slowed down as well and it can be irritating nothing like as slow as you are describing.

  • Officejet Pro L7780 locks up when connected wirelessly

I'm trying to set up my iPad to print to an Officejet Pro L7780. Prior to beginning this effort, we were able to print to this computer through an ethernet connection no problems.
However the printer won't function once it connects wirelessly - locks up entirely. Can't get iPad, PC w/Vista, or a PC with XP to recognize the printer on the wi-fi network. And, printer button functionality is gone, including the power button. Any suggestions?
