Beginner - mouse over IE line - and click problem

How would I remove that white mouseover white line near the
edges of the page (as seen on IE7)
I made the swf full screen to try to get it to dissapear -
but full screen is apparently only nearly full screen and it is
still there
I would like to learn how to make an swf which can live
seamlessly in a matching html page so would appreciate knowing what
to do. There is a setting I chose which I thought would fix it
(show border) but it has not worked
Also - click problem:
in Flash, I made a fill layer into a button (100% size also
and under the visible elements ) so that I could attach a goto url
action (up)
on this swf you have to click twice to go to the url
I dont follow how this has come to be

Did you try adding the background color parameter in the HTML
of your page? This is different than the background in the Flash
file. I looked at the source for your page and I didn't see it.
Regarding your double-click problem it may be due to an
Internet Explorer update from earlier in the year. I've read a few
bits about how for some interactive web apps (Flash is included in
the list of affected programs) the user needs to 'activate' the
control by pressing SPACEBAR or ENTER. That would explain the need
for the second click. Apparently there's a way to enable the
control from your web page by using and external .js file but I
haven't implemented it. Here are a couple of related

Im using Windows 7, and i could always
go down to my TaskBar and Right Click
Icons, and active icons, which would bring up
the standard Right Click Menu list.
PROBLEM
As soon as i moved my Mouse away from
the bottom Window 7 Task Bar to go a couple
of millimeters above to left click an option on
the Context Menu i opened with my right click,
The whole Menu disappears, and this happens in
Firefox version 29.01, other programs in Firefox,
and other such as Skype.
When i was running Firefox 28
i didn't have this problem, can you help me out.

Intermittent freezes, shut downs, scan lines, and clicking.

Hey all,
Unfortunately for me, my MacBook is no longer under AppleCare.
Just a couple of weeks ago, I had re-installed Leopard and all applications. The primary focus for doing this was to devote about 20GB of my drive to Windows.
Long story short, I backed up all my essentials, reinstalled Leopard, and called it a day.
The next day, I started to install Windows (XP). All went well. I was downloading Firefox via wireless, and then all of the sudden, my computer shut off. I turned it back on, went back into Windows, and all seemed fine.
A couple of days later, I was working on OS X. I don't really remember exactly what I was doing, but I had the usual apps open: Adium, iTunes, Safari, Mail. All of the sudden, my computer freezes, and there are some odd lines scrolling down the right hand side of my screen. Now I'm convinced that there's something wacky going on.
I continue to use the computer despite the problems that it's been having, and over the course of the next week or so, it continues to sporadically shut off and freeze, as mentioned above.
However, today, it reached an all-time high. Not only did it freeze with lines scrolling across the right hand side of the monitor, but it was clicking as well. A loud click every half second or so.
I'd say that 90% of the time I've experienced these issues, it's been while I was running VMWare Fusion (with Windows started), or while I was actually in Windows. However, it's happened also while I was just using OS X as well.

I've also ran Tech Tools Pro on the computer, and it came back with no problems.
Disk Utility returns no errors or problems.
Note that this problem has also happened with and without the Mini-DVI adapter.
The obvious solution is to take the MacBook to Apple, however, I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the self-service direction. The loud clicking surely sounded like the hard drive, but I would really like to avoid spending $100 just to see if that's the case. Moreover, the lines across the monitor seem to denote a video issue (in my opinion). In this sense, I'm kind of torn.
...Of course, it could be both. That would be a downer.

Hello, Have you found out what is wrong with your computer. I am having the same problem. The lines and across the entire computer.
It happen different times. Other problem is when I play certain video or games she goes to black screen and the white light blinks and I have no way of shutting her down but to us the on button.
I am so fustrated. I know I have to bring it to Apple. It just a far drive 1 hour each way. Hope you can tell me some news that you got on your problem. thank you

Mouse randomly moves around and clicks

Ok, so ive had this problem for a few months now and it has led me to the point where my mac was in storage and i havent touched it in a month or two. What happens is no matter what i am doing my mouse will move around the screen clicking randomly and basically doing whatever it wants. i have looked into the problem and other people have similiar issues but not the same. i can be across the room from my mac with the screen on, and the mouse will still move around and click and open countless folders even though no one at all is even near the computer. today when i took the mac out to see if there was a software update available (which there was) the mouse was not moving around or jumping at all througout the entire update. After the update it is now yet again jumpin around and clicking wherever it wants. Also its not just once in a while it is 24/7 it has made my mac unable to be used because you cant really control the mouse for more than a second at a time. my whole screen is now full of untitled folders.... any help would be appreciated...

Hi - I am having exactly the same problem. I am going to do what Barry said. Apple support says to do the following:
Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
Your computer's PRAM and the NVRAM are reset to the default values. The clock settings may be reset to a default date on some models.

Can I mouse over a group and cause another group to do something?

When I mouse over id=wholeGroup, I want group rect47 to become more visible by changing its alpha value.

In the function showYourSelf() just set rect47.alpha=1.0

When I go to a drop down menu, for example bookmarks, I mouse over the text and it turns color with a dark bar; can this be fixed?

I am running Firefox 5 currently. Ever since the last update to Firefox 4 and currently with firefox 5 I have had this issue. The dropdown menu is normal when it first drops down. When i move my cursor over the text in the menu it changes to a dark blue bar and remains that way until I close the dropdown, it resets until i dropdown and mouseover again. When I make a selection in the menu it works fine.
I have also noticed that the buttons in the browser and in certain websites have a "sweetspot" you have to hit for the button to function. In past versions if you clicked anywhere on the graphical button it would function.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode Safe mode] disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.
* Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

Dynex 32" Flat screen with green lines and audio problem

I bought thisDynex 32" flat screen in September and it has started to develop problems. It will be on and green lines start forming and go away. Then the sound goes in and out. The green lines come back and the sound works sparsely. I am wondering what is the issue. I have tried unconnected everything; leaving the power off for hours. Somedays it works great or sometimes out of the blue it just craps out but lately I am getting more bad days than good ones. Any help or suggestions would be great. All I got from Dynex was that I had to bring the TV back to BestBuy and have a master technician look at it....

Sounds like it needs servicing. If you bought it in September it should still be under the 1 yr manufacturer warranty. You can bring it into the store with your receipt and have customer service send it to service for you. It will be returned to the store and can be picked up when service is complete. I will say, however, warranty service can be lengthy. Expect to not have your TV for a few weeks.

Track pad and clicking problems - snow leopard

Lots of problem with an older MacBook pro running 10.6.8, mainly with the track pad and its over sensitivty. Also no actual clicking available just tapping..
As a separate issue the mail programme will not start at all, reduced to using "thunderbird" ..
I have run the disk utility many times and genrally get the same list of problems/errors mainly "Open error 5" problems with .nib fls etc ..
Any of this sound familiar and if there are any answers out there, would be much appreciated! ?

USB over current notice and other problems

I have a 17" MacBook Pro (original 2.16 Core Duo) that has a USB over current notice pop up. The pop up says that the USB hub it's attached to will be deactivated. I'm trying to troubleshoot it but can't figure out what's causing it. What exactly does this notice mean? The ports all still work. The iSight doesn't work (not even recognized in System Profiler), and I know that's on the USB bus. Could that be the problem? I noticed the pop up seemed to occur with movement. I've found that I can recreate the USB alert at any time by applying pressure to the bottom case, in the center right behind the RAM cover. This may sound strange, but while trying to figure this out, I was pressing around on the top case to the sides of the trackpad, and when doing so it made a crackling sound. It did this again when I applied pressure and the keyboard and trackpad became unresponsive. Does anyone have a clue? Thanks.

Try http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 to see if you can find the iSight problem.
If your iSight is still not recognized in System Profiler, you likely have hardware problems. (That hardware problem could also account for your problem "with movement" and the "crackling sound.") Contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service. Tell your service provider about all your issues. My guess is that at least some are related.

It seems possible to me that an unpowered (or possibly an underpowered) hub could be causing your symptoms. It also seems possible that a faulty power supply on a powered USB hub could cause bus current overload without your knowing that your hub is operating like a non-powered unit even though you have it plugged in to wall power. If you cannot check your hub's power supply, ask you Apple Technician to do it when you have your MBP checked.

Trackpad Tap and Click problem (won't click sometimes)

I have a Macbook Pro Mid 2012 (MD104)
I had this problem since the beginning (i'm a new mac user for almost 7 months now), i'm really getting tired of this
sometimes (maybe 5-10 times a day) when i tap to click (or even really click with trackpad) it does not work (trackpad is fine , this is a software problem because i have also Windows on my mac and its fine there)
for example it happens when im clicking the Close button to close a window
then "i have to click elsewhere, any where, and then it will click just fine where it didn't work before"
I have Tap to click and Three Finger drag enabled (maybe it is related)
i searched a lot and did many things, neither of them worked
What should i do? any help is appreciated

Mouse Over Image Swap bugged transition problem

I have a question regarding the function of "Import" and "Update" in the properties of an image. I've re-updated the link above to reflect my specific question. In the movie, there are image swap transitions as you scroll over various sections of the home page. These actions are carried out in the target cont_images and cont_images/images for the pictures. I attempted to update one of the photos in the library with a new picture of equal quality and proportions but when I then watch the movie, the action is carried out but in a very un-smooth fashion. The transition can be contrasted here:

The bugged transition will be the Adventure tab in the center, right most box. You'll also notice that with the bug it quickly flashes the picture under the "Register" Tab (image_big_2) with the one that was changed being (image_big_3). The part that puzzles me is that it had worked once by simply updating/importing but for some reason no longer does, I believe it lies in the method I'm going about replacing the photo. Also the photo isn't being called externally from a folder as it is built into the library of the FLA. I hope this was all clear enough. If there are any odd parts, I'll be watching the thread to respond if you have a question.

Hovering mouse over a button and painting

The following code is what I have to try to paint a rectangle when ever I hover over a button. This rectangle will show a brief description of what the button will do. I'm doing something similar when pressing the help button and hovering over something a description in a rectangle shows up. But I cannot get the paint method to work. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix this.

For instance, you shouldn't be calling the paint method directly.
Also, do you want to be doing this Graphics? Would it be easier to just add a tool tip to your button (i.e., use setToolTipText(...))?

What is the function name of "on mouse over tab focus" and how to disable this function?

I can only find addons makes this function enable but not disable

Tab preview is an Add-on that is installed for Firefox. You can manage your add-ons by going to Firefox> Tools > Add-ons. Look through what you have installed, and disable or remove any add-on that you no longer want. That should take care of the problem.

Certain add ons/plug ins not loading. For example, in eBay, mouse over certain items and only blank dialog box pops up, no text within box. What could be causing this?

Appears to be flash or Acrobat issue???

Probably caused by the Google Toolbar extension. Disable it to verify it as the cause.
